521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Poloniex Dead on: July 09, 2018, 07:34:35 PM
I used Polo a long time ago, probably about a year and a half at this point (that's a long time in the crypto world) For my recent trades, I've fully left Polo and have went into Binance. Though I haven't heard of anyone talking about Polo - the only time I do hear it though is people complaining about it. Is Polo dead? I know at one point it was controlling most of the market.

Talk about a fall from grace. From riches to rags as an exchange I guess
It's not really dead. When looking at the traffic it receives (Alexa ranking) it's ranked 3,386 global ranking but indeed, compared to Binance who is ranked 575 it's not as popular as before.I guess what makes Binance receiving more traffic is because it's supported by Japanese people.I personally never used Poloniex because at the time I was looking for a good exchange I heard alot of complaints so I used Binance instead.

Hello,
I've played the game before and I liked it and I was hoping for a bit of improvements,I don't see much done unfortunately.I suggest to add an anti-adblock,it will help increasing the block reward which is way low compared to the pool power (you have to play alot to get few hundred satoshis).I also see you are using Google Adsense which is pretty rare to see in a faucet,I'm pretty sure it's one of the best paying adnetworks so it will be really good if you increase the block reward.

523  Other / Off-topic / Re: A car will cost you $700/month to $7000/month on: July 09, 2018, 07:06:52 PM
It's true that cars are expencive  (even if I'm pretty sure you can get an average car for cheaper) but still it's a good investment since taking bus is also expencive ( approx 2$ per ride in my country) so if you take a bus to go work/study and want to hangout it will also cost alot (without talking about the big waste of time when taking bus) taking a taxi is even worse (minimum 10$ per ride). So yeah after thinking it's better to buy a car unless you ride a bike (lol I guess it's the cheapest mean)

525  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: June 25, 2018, 11:44:24 PM

Question: What is a  permissioned blockchain? What is the difference between a permissioned blockchain and a normal traditional blockchain?
A permissioned blockchain is a limited version of normal blockchain in term of permissions. With a permissioned blockchain, the company behind it can choose miners, who can serve as a node etc.. (Like Ripple does). In the contrary,a normal blockchain anyone can be a miner and contribute to the network in general.

Bump.

If you have questions. Ask it!

Mart

Hello there,
May I ask why we need to specify the IP addresses we gonna connect from? This is against the whole purpose of using a VPN in my humble opinion (I hope you get my point,I aint nobody to give my residential IP to a stranger).Secondly, the prices are pretty expencive for what it is.

528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where is alternative way to promote ico? on: June 24, 2018, 10:59:03 PM
Hello.. I have one question, about promote ICO on facebook, about few days ago which is facebook isn't allowed to promote ICO project or promote Bitcoin, so where is another way to promote Bitcoin and ICO project? Another than twitter .
Thank you
Facebook is no longer an option for advertising cryptocurrency projects but Google is still an option (Google Adsense;they are the ads you see when you surf on google,or in youtube),I think it's a really good option because it targets a large audience of people and thus  may lead newcommers to the crypto world. What you should avoid,is advertisements that are put in faucets and similar websites, those won't get you any leads as fauceters doesn't pay attention to ads at all.
529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason to stay in this bear market. on: June 24, 2018, 10:54:28 PM
Bear market is only an issue to those who bought during the market high's but most of the people here which I'm quite sure that we bought and had bitcoin when it was around $1,000 - $4,000.

Compare to the stocks market, crypto market is better than that. You have to need big money there and wait for loooooong years before you see great profit but crypto is totally different and the best.
What you've said is a double-edged sword.Certainly, opportunites on crypto market are way better than stock market however this includes that the crypto market is really dangerous in terms of volatility and can lead you to a big loss instead of profit. On stock market it's kinda balanced, either small profis or small losses.
530  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ICO categories. Best investment. on: June 24, 2018, 10:46:13 PM

Is this your own statistics? If so,you are really successful with exchanges. Can you please tell us what is the name of exchanges you invested on?It would help to find the criteria of a successful exchange ICO.I'm aware that exchanges are in most cases successful but as far as I've seen most of them requires KYC which I'm against (Example,WCX,Legolas...)
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy altcoin okay? on: June 24, 2018, 10:41:08 PM

Some criteria for choosing my altcoin:
Must be a large market capitalization, high transaction volume, focus on the top coin.
Paying attention to the value of the coin, not the price, cheap is not necessarily good.
Team of talented and experienced developers in the field of blockchain.
Bitcoin prices are dropping as many good altcoin are at the bottom. Do you think this is an opportunity for us?
I tend to think the contrary. If the whole market is down because of Bitcoin dropping in price, what would stop it from going further down? It's certainly an opportunity but a very risky one,Altcoins will only rebounce if Bitcoin rebounce and no one knows if Bitcoin will rebounce in this situation (that's trader's current analysis)
532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, the highest fall in the year 2018 on: June 24, 2018, 10:36:43 PM
Are you now starting to doubt those predictions who are saying that bitcoin will reach $30,000 by the end of the year? There's more to come for this year and we're just half of it and we are starting to get into 3rd quarter and if there will be no action seen on that quarter, there is still the last hope which is the last quarter for this year. We are in part of the history where bitcoin has fall that much and if you do believe those predictions, there's nothing wrong with it as I do believe about $25,000-$30,000 by the end.
Anyone with common sense would think that Bitcoin won't even surpass 15k$ this year.Indeed;in my opinion Bitcoin will end this year playing between 5000$ and 10000$.Simply because who the heck would like to push the  price now.Investors are demotivated (From 20k to 6k it's really scary),Bitcoin has to rebuild trust among it's supporters and ofcourse it will take time.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Komodo passing Visa & Adoption on: June 24, 2018, 10:32:20 PM
Yesterday I read about how Komodo had outperformed Visa's TX/s rate. You can find the article that I read here. This really got me thinking about the real world adoption of cryptocurrency and what we would need to do in order for payments via crypto to become widespread.

The GIST of that article is that Komodo successfully tested 10,000 TX/s which is equal to around 100,000 payments/s. In comparison to Visa's reported 1600 TX/s, this is a massive amount. The article goes on to talk about how this was achieved and then it glances over adoption. I'm making this post to expand on the thought of adoption.

What is in the way of cryptocurrencies and widespread adoption?

If the currencies are faster than some of the most used forms of payment today, the what is stopping them from being used? Is there anything that we could do (or start) to spark the interests of people around the world? Are there any other projects that have been this successful in TX/s?

I believe that if we work together as a community we can start to bring cryptocurrencies to the real world for payments on a large scale.
I wonder how this can be useful if there isn't enough adoption around this cryptocurrency to benefit from this incredible performance. The majority of those who considered adoption, limited themselfes to Bitcoin, which isn't a good option (3 tx/sec? LOL) so yeah,Komodo has to launch ad campaigns, contact companies about their achievements hoping for adoption.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Steem Dollar SBD Back to 12$? on: June 24, 2018, 09:30:31 PM
Yo guys,
Steemit platform has a lot of potential,it's a really great way to reward writers.Last year,SBD has reached an All time high of 12$ but decreased in value gradually until reaching back ~1$.
Do you think it can get back to 12$ when the market rebounce?
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will DigiByte keep rising? on: June 24, 2018, 09:22:23 PM
DigiByte rises in price with 24 hour gains greater than 5%. #DGB/#BTC markets now continue to show bullish signals in spite of the overall bearish market sentiment. src.

Do you think DigiByte's rise is priced well based on it's fundamentals? Could it keep rising?

cryptocoincharts.info/coins/show/dgb
With the current market,it will probably dump "U" shaped,we already see the U getting formed. It's unfortunate, because the crypto market doesn't rely on coins fundamentals, solution or technology it brings.Everything is pure feeling-based.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for Airdrops: A bad precedence on: June 24, 2018, 09:17:00 PM
I have recently seen where bounty hunters were asked to present identifying documents.  Am really against kyc because one of the reasons I joined crypto was the anonymity which it provides. But sadly that's gently creeping away.

Now this KYC has come into airdrops. Imagine am to submit my ID to some I don't know which planet he or she or they are from for some pennies worth tokens.

It's terrible and this is a bad precedence these people are setting.

If as a community we do not say no to this,  then it would become the norm.
The problem is,if bounty participants weren't cheaters, most of projects wouldn't implement KYC.Participants create multiple accounts to cheat the referral program etc..It's a loss for the project if they don't do it.So yeah,it's unfortunate for those who legitemately done the bounty but others have to change their attitude in order to avoid this
537  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: John Mcafee & Bitifi launch the first 'unhackable' hardware wallet on: June 23, 2018, 07:29:41 AM
https://globenewswire.com/news-release/2018/06/19/1526755/0/en/Bitfi-and-McAfee-Announce-First-Truly-Unhackable-and-Open-Source-Crypto-Wallet.html

I particularly enjoy this feature - 'The private key only exists for a fraction of a second, just long enough to approve the transaction and is never stored anywhere' - because a full second is no good.

Have they taken a seemingly impossible leap in security or will this be a bit of a nothing? Truly unhackable is a bold and impossible claim I would've thought.
I'm pretty sure that this claim is just pure marketing.Nothing is 100% unhackable.I'm actually curious if the 1 year warranty means a warranty that the wallet never gets hacked or a warranty for the device like warranty of phones/computers etc..

540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will reach $ 15000 in this year. on: June 22, 2018, 10:01:55 PM
I think Ethereum will be worth $15000 or more in this year.
What you guys think ?

Everybody wants Ethereum to reach this hype of $15,000 but its not gonna happened for this year. Maybe after 2-3 years it might be possible. Its not if Ethereum reach moon that easily because once it happened, it will also go down that easily and everyone will not gonna like it specially the bad scenario after that. Lets just make Ethereum chill for a while and be developed more just like what Bitcoin before.
It's never going to happen, not this year and not the following. Why? Simply because for Ethereum to reach 15000$,the market cap needs to be multiplied by 15000/450$(current price)=33.33,that means $45 billion (current market cap) * 33.33=~1.5 TRILLION $;which is huge and is not happening anytime soon, not even Bitcoin have achieved this.Let's be realistic.
