I try and give some BTC to people that are already interested in how it works etc. However with current high fees that's not very economical.
Obviously I talk about it and try to explain why it's revolutionary tech that's here to stay. Unfortunatelly people still tend to associate it with drugs/online crime or they fear it is "created" to get rid of cash. And you won't believe how hard it is to get the facts straight for some people.
Whenever I talk to someone via email, chat etc. about the topic I try to send them a link to Andreas Antonopoulos' videos. He has some great talks explaining bitcoin to newbs and is the man that brought me into crypto.
Newbies were hard to convince but when we show some proofs that there are really that get to be successful in btc they might really get an interest. I tried to convince them that its a way of new banking in different currency same with as a investment process. |

Yahoo was the first (?) search engine at the time when Internet started. It was the pioneer in its field. In the late 90's its market cap reached to a high closed to $120B. Three and a half years after Yahoo started, Google came out and gradually took away market share from Yahoo.
After 22 years, Verizon bought it for $4.8B. Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future and got beat up by new competitions?

There are possibilities that as you said that it will happen, there are no impossible in this world we live in but in my opinion bitcoin is different many people depend on bitcoin and bitcoin was the very first that cryptocurrency that came out. It is hard to predict if that will happen but there is a possibility on it but the chances are low because as we can see in market cap other coins are increasing but not as like as bitcoin, ETH is incredibly increasing but so as bitcoin so its hard to know if it will happen or not and when it will happen. For yahoo, yes it was at highest point when google was still not discovered but yahoo and google are search engines they are not cryptocurrency that many people can invest on them. Unlike bitcoin many people can invest even if your not rich and high but we don't know the future and who knows what will happen we just gotta wait see.  Yahoo overtakes by google same with friendster to facebook, those were web pages in different purposes that can easily change too since there are more sites that can be a substitute to them, same with Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency and with ETH or any other alts, this cryptocurrency have lots of benefit financially in diff. value which is hard to replace easily since theres something to risk not only our accounts but we have investments or savings on it. But still we can't tell what may happen. |

Some of the ICO right now will just be succeeded in long term and most of them will just create hype and it will be gone as well as the team and development. So it is best to be careful in investing in ICO because they are all mushroom that are keep popping out now and if you are just greedy and all you do is invest and invest without research and proper source of decision then you will just get rekt and lose money.
not really understanding how people cant see how scammy icos are? i guess after a few run off with the money or something else horrible happens maybe people will wake up To say scammy for a project, the team does not need to run off with the funds. They collect the money but they don't do anything they promised, development road map, prototype etc. ICO market will crash hard soon. For Icos now were really too fast in developing some projects,its good to have a research first and check teams previous project if it went well or have issues. We can really gained in investing but we need to be smart on choosing. |

Volatility goes both ways and you're essentially asking for Bitcoin to gain an additional $1,300 per piece and multiply the market cap by 1.33x. That's a nutty number to think about when it comes to basically any kind of asset, whether it is a stock or a commodity.
$4000 is out of reach for now. We haven't even broken $3,000 and there's all sorts of buywalls set up so that it has a hard time getting that far.
Essentially it is a very huge number but if any investment has the same potential i would go with bitcoin as it has the ability to raise that much in a very short amount of time,you really cannot find a stock or a commodity that would grow this much in a very short amount of time,but bitcoin proved time and again that it could increase its valuation within a short period of time,once we break $3000 the next target will be $4000. $3000 were reached last month then suddenly dump, meaning btc can really goes that high amount so reaching $4000 is not really impossible to happen when btc pump again. |

I heard that in august we will see the hard fork of bitcoin hoping that we can see the improvement about bitcoin.. if not like you said other people can be transfer to other altcoin instead.. but i don't think if its a good idea but saving other altcoin just to be safe and maybe other altcoin will be replace bitcoin its just my opinion that invest in other altcoin just for safety reason to get the benefits of the price or if bitcoin will crash a lot..
I think bitcoin will not crash ,still many btc users were buying it , it just happen that more also were just storing it in their wallet so btc market not works well or due to delays and fees, btc needs to fix and work things out. For the meantime its also good to put some in altcoins. |

Because bitcoin is cannot be use today in buying things in the store so obviously you can really use it as a currency today but i guess it will be in the future because of it is a technology and it will be the future of thethe currency because of the perk it gives.
Chances were big enough to continue to save for future usage of btc, for now it may be too hard to bought things using it. Japan were already implemented btc as payment so they might anle to development machines or application accepting btc in buyinh in stores. |

Are there any countries that tax bitcoin? How?
Maybe those countries that implemented it like Japan, but I don't know yet the process on how they put tax on it. There were lots of countries open btc as their transaction payments some mau put tax on it. |

I don't think this is anything to worry about since bitcoin was always this way. Bitcoin is a decentralised coin so what usually causes this is the supply and demand. It is no wonder why bitcoin can rise and fall in price so quickly.
Like a lot the people on the thread imagine bitcoin as a rollercoaster and currently It is the section where the rollercoaster is slowly going up and no one knows when the rollercoaster will stop and fall, maybe this roller coaster will take us all the way to riches. Have faith in Bitcoin.
In my opinion, I think that the future market of bitcoin will be great, this fall will give opening to many more investors to come into the market and all the more for the ride. Prepare for bitcoin to fall and rise but in the long run, I do think profit will be made.
This situation happens a lot of times before its not a new thing that bitcoin pumps and dumps, This just show that btc were still used by whales and a lot of newbies were trying their luck in btc. |

I have seen bitcoin mentioned in TV and radio programs in the past hours due the ramsomware attack. Some people did a surprisingly good job at promoting it as a neutral tool and not as a tool for criminals, drug dealers and so on, so that was positive.
Did you see it on the mainstream media in your country? what did they say?
Im also wondering if all publicity is good publicity or not. Im not sure if the fact that being linked to the ramsomware thing is good even if it helps spreading BTC out, but most people are idiots and will not research further so it all comes down to how much of a good job the person explaining BTC does.
Wow thats great. Bitcoin is now introduced to them. They will now get interested on bitcoin and they will have an investment on it. And therefpre the demand might be increase as well.it will be more popular than the others. And i think the value of it will increase too. Mass adoption may lead to price rise so its will be for the benefit of everyone. I'd been seeing a lot of Ico ads in every sites that I'm viewing. So in time many newbie will be here. |

Yes, price of bitcoin have matter, because if the price of bitcoin had no matter why a lot of people were wants to earn bitcoin? Because they want to exchange into real money.
All aspects that make bitcoin, matters. Especially the value. The value determines the price. We always look after the price. How far it would go. Its pump and dump. As today's price is decreasing, its good to buy now for us to make a big profit. Value or the price of bitcoin is one of the most matter because if bitcoin will not that high right now then the miners will just leave bitcoin and transfer to other coins like ethereum and they will just continue mining their and leave bitcoin in the dust. Most of the people wants high value because that is one of the easiest way to tell that it is a good investment. If the price is high, thats the good time to influence others . Bitcoin price is the reason why I joined btc ,but lately im entering also in alts but will still left some amount in btc since for sure soon it will pump again. |

We will be seeing Sasha and the Primal Base team at the event on Tuesday  Tomorrow will be flying from UK to Amsterdam  we simply can't wait What a cool opportunity! I would love to be there. Hopefully you'll give us a report after it's over. I don't know if they are planning on taping any of it or sharing part of it with the community. Hopefully so. Bitcoin is advantage instead of cash thats why i choose bitcoin and im choosing bitcoin because it has the fastest transaction compared from fiat cash money. And the very best thing is also it is not taxable and no hidden charges.
Indeed. Plus if you keep it in your wallet there is tendency that it could goes up. There would be no fear that your money will be stolen or will lost. And like what you said, the best thing is it is non taxable. So all your bitcoins is yours. You could do almosy everything same thing with what you can do with paper money. When you have bitcoin then it is like you are already securing your money against the tax and the inflation so you are safe and the only concern for most of the users of bitcoin is to keep their bitcoin safe in the wallets and the best for that is a hardware wallet like trezor and if you have that then there is nothing to worry about. I just wanted to know that,what amount of risk is there in investing in bitcoins.
Right now i am planning to buy btc approx 3-4 btc and just hold them as i guess the price of bitcoin will increase in future and i will get some good profit.But i want to know what is the risk involved.Can bitcoin price decrease and is this right time to buy the bitcoin.
There is no actual answer to your question, because Bitcoin is a project and it is speculating and cannot fall down in price so soon. Buying Bitcoin has no actual time to say is it good I buy now or I wait latter, now might be a good chance to buy and wait to sell later or buy later and keep it. Investing maybe risky but its worth it especially when you really gain,like you said we can't tell when btc will pump so why not make it more bigger amount by investing then save it until it pumps. Just decide carefully where to invest . Make sure the ico or project will succeed by researching before investing. |

What can we do, people who use bitcoin has their own freedom to use it in anyway they want to, everything can be used not just for their purpose just like Bitcoin it can be used for good or bad as long as it is your own, I prefer bitcoin over fiat for it is anonymous, but i still wouldn't use bitcoin for that reason.
Fiat is for everyday need purposes,like buying everyday need stuffs,foods etcBut in terms of saving or sending money I prefer bitcoin that saving or doing bank transactions. Theres more chances to save in btc than in banks. |

I cant imagine a world with only cryptocurrency, real money is more convenient compared to cryptocurrency, and not every one is capable of using cryptocurrency, technology really makes human less industrious.

Panic may, but do not overdo it. Because panic to something as popular as bitcoin because the price is falling and then you sell it, I think you will regret in the near future because I've experienced something like this. We must stay calm and be sure bitcoin will rise again.
It's a cycle, dump and pump can really happen in btc, there's no need to panic. Since btc is still capable to pump soon like it did before. Same with it can lower the value but not as low as it is before. |

Not everyone knows about bitcoin so the reason people use paper money, maybe that's one factor.
I agree for this one, bitcoin are not yet recognized by all people that is why cash is still the best thing for them, cash is better because you can have it even without internet, there are some areas in a country that dont have internet connection so for them to know about bitcoin is really hard. Cash is still better than bitcoin today but im not sure in the future. Cash since we can use ot easily, when time comes that almost all stores have accepted btc like thevway they treat Debit or Credit Cards then Btc will be a lot useful . But in the meantime i will just save btc for future adoption in any means. |

I sell some of my Bitcoin when I buy things but I really prefer to save it and hold it. I am hoping one day I will have a few Bitcoin when the price really takes off into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Then we all have an opportunity to become very wealthy people.
I'm pretty sure most people here are hoping the same and we all in the same boat.

Same here I am only selling bitcoin whenever a need arises. I am religiously holding it for quite sometime now. I am very optimistic that bitcoin will recover soon or some in the future because of good news coming like more countries are approving btc as legal payment option. The fact that bitcoin hits grater than $3000 last month keeps me focus on keeping my bitcoin even its dump for I'm hoping that btc can still applicable to reach that amount soon. |
