I need some advice. What means "No task request? Probably lost, resending task 0"? I suppose is about the connection with the pool but im not so sure. Im a newbie with bfgminer
Also, im using ghash.io but if some of u know a better pool would be good to know. Im using this one mostly because i have some GH there but...
Thanks in advance
I'm also a BFGminer, I personally have always used cgminer. I use BTCGuild because its small enough that its not a problem, but big enough that its not a problem.

Additional notes for this round: - I have increased the number of ad slots to 5 to allow more people to participate.
- This is in part facilitated by a recent significant bump in traffic, traffic per slot is expected to be reduced by25% so bid accordingly.
- I may impose a max slots per person during the auction (likely 3).
- It is worth noting that it is likely (although not guaranteed), that the Antminer S3 guide will be published during this cycle and this is not taken into account in the predictions.

What is being auctioned? Why?Non intrusive ad space in my setup guides is being publicly auctioned. This has prior approval from Theymos. I work for the community full time and am not funded by the community or any company. Donations have not exceeded $50 in total this year and so I have to find a way to keep the guides sustainable and FREE for the average consumer. Selling ad space is one such trial. Ad Format- Leaderboard style (728x90 pixels), static images (jpg, jpeg, gif, png), non annoying colors
- As images within text, these ads are not affected by ad block by image. I will use a goo.gl address to prevent url blocking and provide public stats.
- Ads may not misrepresent, lie, be inappropriate, be (or link to) NSFW content.
- I reserve the right to reject ads for other reasons or remove ads even after they have been accepted.
- There are 5 ad slots for sale. One slot will be placed after sections 2, 4 and 6 in all the guides listed at the bottom of the post. Shorter guides may not have a slot 6.
- I will randomise which ad is placed in which slot so each slot receives the same traffic in each slot.
- The ads last at least 7 days starting from when they are put up. Traffic is expected to be 10,000 impressions per slot over the period.
- This traffic is exceptionally targeted to the hardware subforum, and more specifically to those who have either bought or are looking to buy miners.
Auction Format- Auction will run for approximately 6 days, to end at midnight London time on Friday 18th July / 3PM PDT Friday 18th July / 6PM EDT Friday 18th July. - Post your bids in this thread. Prices must be started in BTC per slot. You must state the max number of slots you want. - The notation "2 @ 5" means 2 slots for BTC 5 each. Not 2 slots for 5 BTC total. - The bidding starts at BTC 0.10.- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by BTC 0.02. - If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slots filled first. I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. In particular, bids from people with less than 15 activity points are likely to be rejected. I recommend not getting into a bidding war with someone who has less than 15 activity points, as their bids might not be accepted, but your latest bids will still stand. If you need to know right away whether someone's bids will be accepted, PM me. You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address. Otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. I will send you the payment information via forum PM from this account ("dogie", user ID 87869). You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful. Dogie's Miner Setup Guides:.Dogie's USB Setup Guides:.Dogie's General Guides: tldr for getting started:- Starting bid is BTC 0.10 per slot
- 5 slots being sold
- Bid using slots @ price each notation (3 @ 0.10 means 3 slots @ BTC 0.10 each)

I'm considering overclocking the double blade :/
+80-120W or so. Typically it doesn't pay to OC S1s any more though.
|
|
|
It's a dell 750w server PSU.
Will be fine then, combined about 630W load.
|
|
|
How so? Nobody else sells with VAT.
I am definitely interested though, whereabouts (roughly) are you located for shipping purposes? Does the S1 come with a PSU? If so, what wattage? Also, what wattage does the single blade S1 consume?
...because I am? You're arguing over $12 of tax, I'm not interested if that's a problem. UK to UK is all the same price as lng as you're mainland and not highlands Scotland. No it doesn't come with a PSU, that would cost more than I'm charging alone. ~210W. Nah, it's not a problem. I'm just curious as one rarely sees BTC VAT fees ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Does the Avalon come with a PSU? I read in one of your guides that it is usually included. Apologies for my lack of knowledge but I have a Dell 750W PSU hooked up to a double blade S1, and I'm curious as to whether I could power another single blade S1 from the same PSU. It doesn't come with a PSU. I'd need a link or model name to see if it could. Good 750W yes, Dell 750W, maybe not.

So nice to see dogie getting something back from all the work he is doing.
Thanks. This auction is closed, round 3 will be listed soon.

Hi Dogie! I had a little problem, and I'm interested if anyone else or yourself have run into this. Basically, one of the boards to one of my antminer s1's went completely short!?! ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) When i put a multimeter between any of the 12volt and ground connections, i get a total short 0.00 ohms. I took off the heat sink, cleaned off the thermal paste and visually inspected for any wires or something that would be shorting it out-didnt find anything. It was hashing fine at 201 gh/s , clocked to 393.75, and staying right around 50 degrees. I had just hooked it up about 3 days ago from some guy on ebay and didn't have any problems until this happened. So no, I'm running the other blade and its doing just fine, staying at 47 deg and putting out about 101 gh/s. My worst fear: Is that what an antminer blade looks like when it finally burns out? Any components on the board that are known for this? (like maybe a cap shorted?) Thank you dogie an advance!!! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Have you tested the PCI-E connection itself internally on the PSU side? (be careful)

Why are you adding VAT? You aren't a commercial seller.
Yes I am.
|
|
|
Sorry but if you want VAT on top, that price is ridiculous. £45 plus delivery for 80 GH/s...
100GH. And that's 0.6$/GH without tax for in hand immediate delivery hardware. Show me where you can get hardware anywhere close to that price.

About 45 minutes left. Remember to check that the PM with payment info comes from me and ONLY from me (user ID 87869).
|

|
0.1 BTC for the half-S1?
+ delivery at cost + VAT (if you're UK or EU), sure.

S3s are NOT preorders, they're sensible batch manufacturing and I fully support it. You simply can't manufacture, test and ship 1000-3000 units instantly, so you have to stagger it over a week to 10 days. That means you have to provide a worst case scenario of dispatch. And you have to arrange payment in advance of the earliest shipping.
= 2 day to 3 week window.

New question. Before I thought about it I had bought two Avalon2 miners. The other arrived today. I know the address of the 1 is 192.168.0.100 When you are setting up the miner. The one is running on that address. How would I access the new one? Do I change the address on the 1st one? If so how? Then use the common address for the 2nd one?
Thanks,
Jeff
Change the address of the first one, yes. Easiest way is to set its address type to DCHP, then your router will give it an address. O.K. When I change the address. Does it give me a new address to use to log in with? How do I log into the old Avalon2 via the web browser? When you go DCHP, login to your router and find the list of devices to find the IP your router gave the first device. DCHP just means instead of the Avalon going: "IM AT THIS IP FUCK YOU ALL" it gets what its given.

I am more interested in what the pool says it sees from this. When the error rate is that high the pool tells you more about what the effect is on the number of shares you are getting. For the cost difference over the Ant S3 the Rock R3 is going to need to be at 580+ Gh/s with 2-3% rejects to reach parity. Assuming the S3 performs as advertised. Although, even with that if your a bigger a miner you would have to consider the increased power draw of the R3 before slapping 10 on the shelves. 510 - 10% is 449 at the pool, which is what I'm seeing here.
