544  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: January 28, 2014, 04:25:46 AM
This is my current setup: 3 Wi-Fi Ants powered up by one 1400W Thermaltake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqwpn5Jns-A

how did you set up wifi without an antenna?

Actually I get pretty decent signal without antennas. They aren't necessary in most situations.

Can you share how you were able to set up wifi...i tried playing with it and couldn't get it to work and had to use RJ-45 cables.  It would be nice if i can use wifi so it's more mobile.  thanks for your help.

I made direct LAN connections first (laptop -> Ant), then Network -> WWAN -> Scan -> Connect -> set wifi password etc. -> save and apply -> and then go to interfaces -> find WWAN (name of the wifi network) and click Connect

thanks for your assistance, i was able to set up WiFi thru Ethernet connections.  Once WiFi is set up, i rebooted and remove RJ-45 cable.  Now it's hashing via WiFi.  I can see that it's hashing at the pool.  But I have one minor issue, I can not access the web interface using the WiFi ip address, it loads up for "LuCI - Lua Configuration Interface" a second but then get the "can not connect" error message.

That is the only drawback at the moment when using wifi. From what I understand you can only access that through a wired connection.

Todays payout will only be lower if you cash in the BTC today. Hold it till the market is a bit more favorable and then upon reflection today would have be pretty good.

That is how I like to look at it anyway Smiley

Easy now. I would hardly call them masterminds. They picked the low hanging fruit for a quick score. Smart, clever, resourceful yes but not masterminds. Smiley

It's OK, He is getting the info from the Middlecoin Twitter.

Gamer67....Mauiflipper said he got a reply from observer...  I didn't get the indication he was of any help.
last we talked a couple hours ago, he was working on getting info to interpool

I see, well he has probably invested a few hours into this as it is on his own. I did see you mention some time ago that you would be willing to pay someone to help you recover something. Maybe he might be more inclined to assist if he felt he was being compensated for his time. Without him or someone like him who can help you analyze the chain you won't have any hope of getting any info from Sushi. Just a thought.

traceroute: bad address 'openwrt.org'

ping: bad address 'openwrt.org'

Server:    127.0.0.1
Address 1: 127.0.0.1 localhost

nslookup: can't resolve 'openwrt.org': Name or service not known

Taking a guess I would say that you need to put 8.8.8.8 into 'WAN/Custom DNS Servers' in the web interface.

Why would you send 44 BTC to a company thats not proven, that is just beyond insane

Some would even say unbelievable. I guess stranger things have happened though. I just hope the real perpetrators get caught whomever they may be.

Phoenix or Maui, any news back from The Observer ?

So far he is your best bet to get some results unless someone else steps up to the plate and spends an hour or two analyzing the blockchain.

551  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Announcing NEW 3TH/s and 5TH/s 20nm Bitcoin Miners on: January 27, 2014, 03:23:52 PM
Sorry Maui but you are just as suspect as this outfit is. Your first post on here was for selling two KNC preorders. You would not take escrow and when no one took you up on your offer you sold them on eGay within minutes as you state. I am curious. Do you have an ebay link to prove this.
It's funny how Phoenix1969 tries to sell some land. As far as I can see, that didn't sell.

Then his "brother" mauiflipper appears and tries to sell 2 neptunes. That doesn't work, so he claims he sold them on ebay. Surely he'd provide links, so people could bid on them? If they actually existed.

As you can see from a search of completed listings, no "3TH neptune", "3000gh neptune", "kncminer neptune" or "knc neptune" has been sold on ebay from hawaii:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=3th+neptune&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=3000gh+neptune&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=kncminer+neptune&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=knc+neptune&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc

Now Phoenix1969 and mauiflipper are working very hard to prove this cts con is legit. Coincidence?? They claimed they spoke to Rebecca, the only people in the world who managed to get through! Really?

you my friend made my day...

I did the same for knc when everyone was crying scam.... now look at them.   I really don't care what your opinion of us is.  really.
Drawing conclusions on a WHIOS search without resolving the addresses, then using it as evidence is exactly the kind of idiocy that needs prevented. Daryl is a master at web development, with years and years of cutting edge dev experience, and has developed programs years ago that still sell for 5 grand a pop today. I cherish his help, you should too.

I am sorry, just beating the dead horse a bit more. The part I highlighted in bold is quite telling. For those of you not aware who Daryl is he is Mauiflipper aka the brother. Now I don't know if the above statement is true or not because from what I have seen so far with regards to Daryl's skills leaves a lot to be desired but then again that could just be more white noise being thrown around.

Question: I am in the admin panel. I put the mining address in and press update. Should something happen now ?

Shouldn't I be able to set prices or something

Finding out about Sushi & The Observer would have taken minimal research. There is a real Keystone cops approach to this 'investigation'.

Without wanting to be a doom monger I think the chances of catching these scum is pretty slim. They could be in any country, and will no doubt have used proxies / Tor network for everything they did and used Virtual Credit Cards / gift cards.

Of course that is no reason to not keep at them and try to uncover everything possible. I wish you all the best and hope they have left a chink somewhere because no doubt they will have done this before and will try again.

I am not too sure about that. They seemed to be pretty inept at covering their tracks when tumbling the coins. Also ordering miners from the very forums they used to help in the scam is either very brazen or very stupid, probably both.
thanks rascal... hopefully he can help...  thx pete

Someone mentioned earlier that they had somehow traced the btc to buying antminers, I'm not too good at the blockchain sleuthing, but if we can nail the time & amount, we might be able to get antminer to help out with a shipping address.

It was 'The Observer' and your brother said he PM'ed him earlier....  He traced it by the BTC addresses paid to Sushi.
557  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 27, 2014, 09:59:16 AM
my orders made on the 22nd (early in the morning and in afternoon -US Pacific time) were shipped on the 24th separately and have taken different routs, their cumming at me from both sides and Im gonna meet them in the middle!  Both scheduled for delivery end of day today 27th.  Fingers crossed, and no tracking info in post so I dont jinx myself  Wink

Buying PSU's was a real pain (i know i could have gone with cheaper server psu, but i guess i can sell these later for maybe half their value)
Ended up ordering 2 750W psu's (hopefully they will be enough for 3 ants on modest oc, someone had confirmed they were doing same)
  Corsair TX-750W 80 Plus Bronze $80
  Rosewill CAPSTONE 750W 80 Plus Gold $100

Ive spent the last few days coming through the miner setup threads, have even made serious notes one the types of problems people have experienced, their solutions, all marked with reference pages, been preppin lol.

I need some advise.  Should I create one worker for both miners or different worker for each?

If im not mistaking both miners on the same worker, this means the work done by each machine will be combined  into one result under that same miner in that pool, and therefore produce better results  ??   Should I point each miner at a different pool, or same pool.

It is easier for you to spot any issues if you make one worker per machine.

Thought you said you called them and cts and the same person answered. Man this really does suck, sorry. Don't let greed trick you into hasty decisions.

pretty sophisitcated scam they rented part of the bldg of CMS a legit chip maker and the phone number called was 1 digit off from CMS.....same group that did www.butterflyiabs.com clone site a couple months ago and imho likely same group they did the frostbite 1TH miner this last summer.....imho this is organized crime big time operatoin imho

again hopefully they can trace somethingfrom the miner equip the bought with the proceeds and these guys can at least get some of that at the worst if not btc
don't see why not....they surely are not gonna be at the address this miner equip shows up at...not with fraud reports in the UK and USA etc...

anyway probably the only redress possible is proof to antminer and the rest and they re-direct the miner shipments at least to legit people burnt vs when they prove the asic trail on the bitcoin paid was tainted

anyway I think this was less greed then trying to get in on a KNC type early deal...ie advantage yes....greed not so much imho.

Searing

Hang on a minute. You are saying they rented the physical space in the same building of CMS ? Really ?

Seems to me if this is true then that would be a better line of inquiry as someone had to have contact with the alleged perpetrators of this crime. If this is true of course.

That would be the proper line to take to actually get some results by the UK authorities. Which I assume have already been contacted during all of the heavy investigating that has been going on. They have been notified right ?
