541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 13, 2023, 03:40:13 PM
Legit or not these so-called signal groups are not going to give you any promises or guarantees about the accuracy of their predictions.
They can promise or not but you can not knock their doors and ask them to cover your loses as they will have many reasons to say sorry and reject to pay you or they can simply don't answer your request.

Quote
I've already given up on these signals a long time ago. Been there done that and I have learned my lesson. Although I did win a few times but most of the time I've lost.

It's much better for you to self-learn in analyzing charts, candlesticks, etc.
Being independent in thinking for investment or trading is better than rely on signal groups and thinking of others. It is your money and you can not trust anyone.

Win or lose, if you believe in their signals, you have to enjoy whatever results, profit or loss.

Sometimes you even do not know who are group owner, founder and operator.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 13, 2023, 11:19:25 AM
No free lunch theorem. There is no free lunch, remember that and you will figure out facts behind free signal groups.

They do not charge you any joining fee initially but they will steal your money by giving you some signals and make you excited, greedy to buy up tokens for them to take profit.

Paid groups can be scam too. They can be other versions of free signal groups but try to double scam you with joining fee. Very few paid signal groups are legit and good but you must pay ridiculous expensive joining fee. I am sure you will not be able to join those groups if you are not rich and have big capital.

You can use your money to buy a membership from on-chain metrics websites like Glassnode https://studio.glassnode.com/pricing

543  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: All in one charting software? on: July 13, 2023, 11:08:58 AM
I mostly work on trading view but TV(tradingview) is not free and there are lot of ads poping up all the time, also, TV have many different type of indicators free and paid,
If you use a free version of Trading View, you must accept such annoying advertisement banner and limited indicators to use as well as it does not allow you to use many indicators at the same time.

I believe if you are a trader, trade regularly enough, you will have to buy a Trading View Premium. It is worthy to pay for that version as you can use some more advanced indicators. It will allow more indicators at the same time on one chart but it is not what I like. Because when you trade long time enough, you will know that you don't need to use many indicators on a same chart.

You can wait for annual Black Friday event from Trading View to buy with very good discount price and +1 month to use.
544  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can DEX Replace CEX as the Future of Crypto Trading? on: July 11, 2023, 11:10:31 AM
Centralized exchange are popular now because they're very easy to trade on, they make their platforms so easy that any individual who's a newbie can make use of their platform without mentorship. Decentralized exchange aren't perfect yet but they're safer than decentralized exchange. Centralized exchange are what many individual are used to and they're just getting to know about decentralized exchange and with time they'll understand how to use them.

Decentralized exchange has all the potential to replace centralized exchanges, with the crackdown on centralized exchange and accusations of listing securities, attention might shift back to decentralized exchange as project move to list there to avoid SEC lawsuits.
Talking about this chance for decentralized exchanges is like talking about opportunities of ebooks to replace paper books, e-newspaper to replace paper newspaper, digital currencies like CBDCs to paper or polymer currencies. It will not have any ending for discussions because we all see how paper books, audio books, ebooks coexist and none of them die. I believe the same for CBDCs and paper/ polymer currencies, Bitcoin and altcoins will all co-exist together.

Decentralized exchanges and centralized exchanges serve different users so they will co-exist if customers continue to have different types and each exchange type has its pros and cons.
545  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with caution on: July 08, 2023, 02:42:17 PM
I have seen the risk in trading and its noticeable that trading needs more concentration than any other thing in the cryptocurrency investment,  I know I'm knew here but after reading what investors pass through for the loss they experience in trading, I have to share this with us. I know that trading need more seriousness and concentration because its a risk job and risk investment, I outline four things that make investors to lose during trading investment.
If you aware that you are newbie in Bitcointalk and also new in cryptocurrency market, don't try to write guide and teach.

In your quotes part, you changed from investment to trading. Please don't mix them together because they are different. When you have a capital and you want to use it for both trading and investment, you have to separate your capital, on for investment and one for trading. Don't mix them and don't do both trading and investment if you don't split your capital.
546  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can DEX Replace CEX as the Future of Crypto Trading? on: July 07, 2023, 03:46:02 PM
Can DEX Replace CEX as the Future of Crypto Trading? My answer will be NO.

Because both of them has plus and minuses I know that a lot of people said that Centralized Exchange is bad and we don't have control over our money but in some government only Cex that can comply with government I mean as a "legal" exchange while Dex will not going to get the license because they are basically decentralized

Tho to country who ban bitcoin and there is no rule about crypto Decentralized Exchange will always be the number one exchange that comes to privacy and security.
Decentralized exchanges are like altcoins with doxed founders and developers. If they launch their projects publicly and reveal their identities, their decentralized exchanges are not decentralized. When governments want, they can arrest those developers and shut down those exchanges. So operating or not, it is very centralized on the founder team and core developer team and more important governments.

Only this is enough to say DEX will not replace CEX after many years in future. Governments will never let their citizens to use DEX and they lose their citizen income tax too and lose control on their citizen financial flows.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 04:58:04 PM
Since I joined this forum I have always wanted to invest in Bitcoin however Bitcoin investments in my country is not easy because of our currency value and the government is not in much support am currently working on convincing my mom to accepting Bitcoin in her tailoring shop i Also intend on hodling those Bitcoins
Will you pay your Mom money equivalently to bitcoin she receives from her Tailor shop and gives it to you? It is your investment, not your mom investment.

Accept customer payment in Bitcoin if transaction has at least on confirmation. If you accept Pending transaction, it might never come like the sender can do double spending or it will be dropped from mempool.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The hypocrisy of the UK on Cryptocurrency on: July 06, 2023, 04:44:41 PM
I've been following the development in the UK in line with cryptocurrency for a while now, and I must say that I'm not so happy about most of the things I read.
You mean their regulations against Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, not their development.

Quote
The hypocrisy of that nation is much, they could have just announced to the whole world that they've banned crypto instead of making life difficult for crypto enthusiasts by introducing unfriendly rules and preventing businesses around it by blocking exchanges and other business initiatives with sanctions.
If governments want to launch their CBDCs and want their citizens to use CBDCs, they must force their citizens to stop using Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as least as possible. If you are governments, you will do the same.

They only reduce usage from their citizens because there are non KYC exchanges serve their citizens.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kyc for accounts or wallets on: July 05, 2023, 11:26:49 PM
kyc puts you personal information and privacy at risk it also gives ability for your transactions to be monitored.
Your transactions always are monitored on Bitcoin public ledger and can be checked on block explorers.

Quote
So please before making wallet registrations always read through terms and conditions as well as privacy policy
You only have to do this when you create your online accounts, exchange accounts to store your bitcoins. You don't have to read their Terms of Servive to know you don't own private keys or mnemomic seed. During the process of account creation, you should realize that it is a custodial or non custodial wallet.

Do your research before creating accounts is good so you will not waste your time.

If you use non custodial wallet, you don't have to register any information, no KYC. Just pay attention to research that wallet is open source or close source. You should use an open source wallet.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is the logic reason behind legacy/segwit wallet address not sending Bitcoin on: July 05, 2023, 02:39:01 PM
Why are some exchanges and some platform don't send Bitcoin from legacy to segwit wallet address, is there a cost of operation in implementing that on their exchanges? I don't know why they displayed an error when someone wants to send Bitcoin to an external wallet or send to the Bitcoin wallet address.
They are lazy to upgrade their wallet softwares and only do it when other exchanges, competitors do it. They upgrade when they see risk to lose customers.

Quote
My second question is this, If Segwit is considered to save fees and space, why are people still using the first generational wallet address instead of segwit and also the new improved Taproot wallet address?
Because they don't learn and completely depend on exchanges to receive and send bitcoin. They don't care to learn about Segwit address bech32 and find non custodial wallets support Bech32.

Bech32 adoption https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bech32_adoption

Quote
Why are they not helping the blockchain and the cost of spending Bitcoin.
If they can not help themselves, they can not help others and Bitcoin network, mempools.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin spot ETF make bitcoin price to increase? on: July 05, 2023, 02:28:39 PM
In other words, those who do not want to buy directly with CEX or DEX, and want to trade with BTC will buy it through ETF which will then keep them until the moment they want to sell it. I can also claim that everyone who bought BTC through CEX and keeps it there actually bought nothing but an empty promise that the number representing the amount of BTC they bought is correct, although the numbers on the screen are one thing, and the actual state of the funds is something completely different.
They will have to check Bitcoin Treasury of that Bitcoin ETF carefully. But Bitcoin transaction can be broadcasted anytime and if fee rate is at tip of mempool, it will be confirmed within one block.

Buying shares from a Bitcoin spot ETF with such belief is not what I will do. I always have other choices like centralized exchanges or decentralized exchanges. Finish my buying and withdraw bitcoin to my wallet. With Bitcoin Spot ETF, I will only receive shares, not bitcoin.

Spend money, don't receive bitcoin, I won't choose this option.
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining rig used as a water heater for a bathhouse business on: July 03, 2023, 10:54:32 PM
yeah, I've heard about using Bitcoin mining rigs as a way to heat areas, water or something before but seeing a business doing it is quite fun.
It has been changing to be bigger application. From individual to business levels, it is a very good upgrade of reusing heats from Bitcoin ASIC mining rigs. From small business, we will see bigger business companies apply this. 3Rs are already a big trend in the world and it helps to reduce carbon emission.

If you already have a good heat source, why don't use it for other things, to save the environment and to save cost from electricity, fuel. Like from modern inccinerator facilities, they reuse heat from burning waste.
553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most used indicators by institutions to detect divergences? on: July 03, 2023, 10:43:32 PM
Institutions don't really use technical analysis. If they do its maybe for some confirmation. They do more research and have more fundamentals. Maybe quantz are more into TA but institutions play the long game.

They are in it for months and years and they don't need to pin point a perfect entry. So they basically don't need to use moving average or divergences. And keep in mind that most TA is never perfect. Divergences don't always work. Its hard to tell whether it works unless its in hindsight. There are many divergences now but who knows if this is the actual low.
They have very long term vision and you are right, they invest in years like Microstrategy, a true institutional investor. With this investment style, they look more on fundamentals of Bitcoin and do dollar cost averaging like Microstrategy.

They look at one of most important fundamentals of Bitcoin, its controlled supply. They know in next 3 halvings including a 2024 halving, Bitcoin will have only about 1% of total supply left till 2140 for miners to get from block rewards. If they have money, they will continue to DCA.

Maybe they will use technical indicators to make news and manipulate the market.

554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining rig used as a water heater for a bathhouse business on: July 03, 2023, 11:40:54 AM
That news are days ago Bitcoin mining heats water in Brooklyn Bathhouse, users flip out

This idea is not new in 3Rs principle and in Bitcoin mining, it is not new too. In 2018 we had that one This Guy Heated Bath Water With Bitcoin Mining and It Worked Too Well.

The popularity of this practice is increasing and the level of application potentially can become bigger and it is part of Bitcoin adoption. Bitcoin mining is green enough and with such energy reuse, it becomes greener.
555  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trade have types? on: July 02, 2023, 02:24:32 PM
This is really how trade works because no one knows what will happen on every trade you will do that's why there is a stop loss to prevent losing more from your capital and find another good opportunity for the next trade.
It is why traders should use One of the Best Weapons in Trading

Quote
Always think that there is no guarantee of success in trading, even what strategies you will use, you can still lose.
Trading is playing against the market, other traders and biggest enemy, with yourself. If you can not beat yourself in emotion controlling, you will lose in trading.

Quote
But if you do good practice or train your self, master things that will help to increase your chances of success, it will help to become profitable.
I think if a trader loses enough, he can think to change to an investor. Only return to trading if he get good profit from investment and cover his previous loss from trading.
556  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The price dropping, any reason the huge dump? on: June 30, 2023, 11:28:46 PM
They haven't really rejected the spot ETFs yet — they're just asking for more information about who the custodian will be (Coinbase in this case). Fidelity and others have now resubmitted with more information, with all(as far as I know) pointing to Coinbase.
Sorry, I did not use a correct word. They did not reject it but require additional information before they can consider more, then approve or reject it.

The process takes time even companies will fill in additional information quickly. I still stand with my point that first Bitcoin Spot ETF will not be approved in a bear market. If SEC approves a first one, it will be in a bull run next year or next two year.

Think that SEC will approve it in a bear market is too optimistic.
557  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The price dropping, any reason the huge dump? on: June 30, 2023, 11:04:26 PM
We'll continue from where the market stop next month and keep rising, I see Bitcoin breaking pass $35k next month and also trading at the price for a very long time and not just testing it and retracing back below the price. Next month would be bullish that's my prediction.
I don't focus on trading and I don't want to let my emotion changes with market. If you predict that price will move up to $35k in July but what do you feel if it won't move up, but down.

Have to consider that if you buy and wait for its rise, you will feel disappointed. If you have a Long position and it falls down, you will have loss with your leverage trading by your cut loss or forced liquidation.

I look a wider view, till 2024 halving and I DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) to stack more bitcoin in last 10 months till halving.

558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: June 30, 2023, 10:56:53 PM
Dear newbies pls don't rush into making Bitcoin investments like selling a property very valuable to you just to impress on the forum or putting in your entire savings to purchasing Bitcoin I am not against making Bitcoin investments
You invest because you believe in Bitcoin and want to get rich. If you buy bitcoin to impress someone, it is not investment. If you create a topic and write you sold something to buy bitcoin, to impress someone here, you do it with other intention like making impression to get merit.

Quote
Before making Bitcoin investments always make sure the odds are safe for you  like some members here will say  "" make investments that will not affect you" in other words make investments with free money  except you have more profiting ideas than hodling
Invest with your money and don't over invest. Because investment is risky and you can lose money. If you can not have profit, it is terrible if you have to pay loan interest for your investment which is made by a loan.

If you invest all money you have, you can not afford to lose it all.
559  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The price dropping, any reason the huge dump? on: June 30, 2023, 03:08:20 PM
It's basically because apparently the SEC is saying that the Bitcoin spot ETF filings are "inadequate". Not sure how major/minor this news actually is, but it's definitely what people reacted to.

https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2023/06/30/bitcoin-tumbles-on-report-of-sec-saying-spot-btc-etf-filings-inadequate/
SEC has never approved a Bitcoin Spot ETF and it is not a shock as they continue to reject this Bitcoin Spot ETF application. I guessed they will reject it because with such very big news like a first Bitcoin Spot ETF approval, it should be done in a bull market, not in a bear market.

I am watching Patrick McHenry and Financial Service GOP Twitters for more updates on it.

Gary Gensler and SEC are continuing to play their games but they will have to be governed more by rules.

BobLawlaw did the same years ago when he had some serious disagreements with other members and wanted to abandon his account but he does love the forum so he did not leave us after all dramas.

His account

If you have your topics, you can not delete them and with very old members, they likely created some own topics so they will not be able to delete all posts including opening posts. Hence their activity will not drop to zero.

If you see any member with 0 post, 0 activity, with or without merit, it is like a nuked account. Forum moderators have nuke buttons.
