541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people but bigger bets in sports compared to other type of gambling? on: April 16, 2019, 04:34:55 PM
It's because people find more luck on sports betting, one of the biggest sources of bets are coming from sports, and one of the reasons why is because people know these sports very well and therefore an advantage and giving them more chance on being able to compare which team will win, I myself like basketball and on every game thousands of people throw in their bets and some end up losing and some will gain a lot because they can analyze the game and because in sports anything can happen, hence anything is possible.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin Casinos are really worth it? on: April 16, 2019, 04:04:00 PM
I think its a good idea to invest on BTC Casinos since they also provide some decent projects, a friend of mine invested on Satoshi Dice and he gained decent income, probably around 0.7 BTC and gained +35% on the amount of what he invested with Satoshi Dice, I just don't know if the casino is still active but what I'm trying to point out here is that there are good Bitcoin casinos that will give you an advantage on settling investments with them.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How gambling sites can cheat you on: April 16, 2019, 03:49:18 PM
Thing you need to know about probably fair websites

1> you control your part of secret
2> website has its know secure text, you get hash for it, so it ensure that there can not be any alteration to the server secret

so a bet roll is generated using 1 & 2, which ensures there is no cheat.

Now consider this

1> your account is hosted on there website, all it takes is 1 command to database to delete your whole account and you will not prove anything.

suppose a user deposited 10 BTC, the website can simply delete his account and claim its never been created, so what use are your secrets hash.

2> or they can alter your password and claim its been hacked and its your responsibility

[ remember : password is saved as hash in the database, so they cannot know your password but they can definitely change it , and claim its been hacked]

FOR NOW THE ONLY SOLUTION SEEMS TO ME IS TO USE , A SMART ETHEREUM CONTACT OR USE BITCOIN ON-CHAIN BETTING.

These are possible scenarios yet improbable especially if the gambling site that you are playing is well-known around by online gamblers and if the site shows no signs of anonymity, yet these acts are likely to happen in gambling sites that are untrusted and shows anonymity with the owners, gamble at your own risk and make sure that you are gambling in a trusted gambling site.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble only with Bitcoin and do you have other favorite alt-coin? on: April 16, 2019, 03:20:19 PM
BTC is the most used cryptocurrency when it comes to gambling, although, one of the other altcoins that I use for gambling is LTC because there are also some of my favorite gambling sites that offers LTC and back at that time I only had Litecoins left in me and I had no choice but gamble with LTC instead of converting to BTC.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can you reverse or cancel a bitcoin transaction? on: April 16, 2019, 01:41:07 PM
I do think that some sites will give you another message if you are sure about the transaction, some sites will give you 5 seconds before the transaction goes in if there will be a mistake that you need to correct but I don't think that there has been a site that can cancel your Bitcoin transaction, it is not allowed since the function would likely be abused if given a chance, this is disabled so that there would lesser scams that would happen.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin matured as a currency? on: April 16, 2019, 11:55:22 AM
You'll see the progress, through the progress Bitcoin does not only grow it matures as well although the price movement may be compared to as a rollercoaster ride, though if you'd look at how Bitcoin has evolved the crypto has matured also, and it may be obvious that the price went down but that won't be a problem since it may go up at any given time, no one knows when but it will for sure evolve eventually.
547  Other / Meta / Re: How Many Years on Bitcointalk? Take the Poll! on: April 16, 2019, 04:54:36 AM
Been here for almost 7 years now, its been a long ride and its only the beginning, had started other accounts before but I left it idle and focused on this one, I saw Bitcoin progress and the forum here as well, talked with a lot and tackled a lot of topics through the start, its quite a journey and the journey will continue, I would love to see what'll happen in the next few more years, I have a lot of things in mind.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright claims to be Satoshi? Here is what he should do ... on: April 16, 2019, 01:50:35 AM
He's not the first one to claim to be the real Satoshi, I don't know why a lot of people are claiming themselves to be the real Satoshi without the proper evidence to prove themselves that they are the real Satoshi, yes, all of them may have Bitcoins and all but I don't think that it is enough, I just really think that they are doing this to make the other fools believe in them and for the power as well, though I don't know if they are trying to prove themselves as the real Satoshi or they just really want to make a fool out of themselves.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Can Now Buy Movie Tickets Using Bitcoin In Brazil on: April 15, 2019, 04:26:20 PM
For sure that there would be some major adjustments around here, if they just simply accept BTC as payment then that's wrong, make some adjustments with how the people that will buy through BTC will benefit, I am sure that there would be changes on how they will send out tickets and seats.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can We Find Satoshi? on: April 13, 2019, 03:06:29 PM
Another Satoshi topic that is to be tackled once more, Satoshi can just simply be anyone, Satoshi is more like a placement now, think of a King in a kingdom and that is how I look at Satoshi, Satoshi Nakamoto could just even be a screen name, no one knows who the real satoshi is and if the real one is still alive, and I am sure that there could have been another Satoshi Nakamoto by now, so if you are asking if we can find Satoshi the answer is a big fat NO, Satoshi can be anyone, if you'd expect anonymity around BTC then expect anonymity with the owner as well.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shower thought. Why is Bitcoin hard to define? on: April 12, 2019, 02:30:06 PM
A non-Bitcoiner friend asked me, "What is Bitcoin?", I was unable to answer directly as my mind was racing to find an answer. My first instinct was to tell him that it was a "peer to peer digital ecash for the internet", but should something global, trustless, provably scarce, independent, open, and censorship-resistant be described as something so shallow?

Bitcoin is much more, but it's very hard to find the words to describe it.

I don't think the problem is defining Bitcoin to people who are not familiar with it, the real problem here is not by defining what BTC is but to find the most effective answer that will make them convinced about Bitcoin, the real question is how can we define BTC to these non-bitcoiners without making them doubt and convincing them that BTC is real.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler = Future's Failure on: April 10, 2019, 02:39:45 AM
I don't think so, I mean a lot of gamblers have failed but Don't let that sink in without having other thoughts, some gamblers do have the luck of their lifetime, some gamblers find luck in what they do and some of them are actually rich by now but a lot have failed and have invested a lot of money through gambling, I'm not saying gambling will lead you to nowhere but the number of people that have lost a lot of money without gaining extra income will prove you that gambling is not enough to ensure your future.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Number of Blockchain wallet users are now above 35 million on: April 09, 2019, 03:33:42 AM
Nonetheless it is still a progress for Blockchain, probably a lot of people still do not know about Blockchain, 35 million is a big number to be quite honest, and I think the numbers would continually grow without a doubt, no doubt people would recognize Blockchain more and more as years pass by. The potential is there, and even if Blockchain still has some bugs in their website, you can still see the growth of Blockchain ever since it was established.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling addiction a disease? on: April 08, 2019, 01:51:39 PM
Yes, it is more likely to be called as a disease, why? Well I'll be completely broad and short with this one because its actually pretty simple, one of the many reasons on why gamblers get addicted is by the influence of another gambler, how? When a gambler gets back to back wins not only himself/herself gains confidence but the gamblers that are around him/her as well, its like a mass effect wherein its likely to be considered as a disease, but that doesn't mean it can't be stopped, it actually can be stopped, there are so many ways and trust me I became addicted to it as well back then, but with the help of family, friends and everything I was able to redeem my old, normal self back.

556  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best Cryptocurrency to Invest? on: April 07, 2019, 03:54:04 PM
This thread would be probably keep on updating as every month there are bunch of cryptos that are worth to invest at, but there are some cryptos that are worth to invest at for a long-term period, Ethereum is always there and I think ETH is one of the best examples when it comes to long-term investing.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VK Coin? on: April 07, 2019, 02:02:04 PM

558  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in 2019? on: April 06, 2019, 04:53:14 AM
Always worth investing, this year is actually quite the year to settle some investments through Bitcoin, In my own experiences I looked at ICOs that are actually good to invest at and the amount of opportunities I can gather, lots of great big projects that seemed promising to me.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can New Animated Series 'Bitcoin and Friends' Make Bitcoin Fun Again? on: April 03, 2019, 01:14:47 PM
I watched it, and I'm gonna be completely straightforward with my opinion, I liked it and I think it can really be helpful, informative and entertaining at the same time, they crack up some good jokes, don't adjust to the people saying "oh its too vulgar, too violent, etc." YES it may be like that but without that the cartoon would be plain, you'll see a lot of cartoons nowadays shows some levels of humour, and it may not be appropriate for all viewers but again this should be rated R18 so that the parents would know and would avoid letting their kids watch this, but if they want their kids to learn at the same time then I think it'd be great if they will guide their children while watching it, it's very informative don't let those silly jokes run you up, it's just to make the cartoon not all boring and just explaining about Bitcoin and stuff, writers know that and they know that if you'd just put informative stuff the viewers will then get boring eventually.
560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap faking volume on: April 02, 2019, 11:50:03 PM
Nowadays, I don't rely on CMC for exchange volumes but rather only on coins that I'm following and see whether there are drastic changes on their 24-hr volume and pricing. For volumes, I go straight into an exchange that I frequent and check the order books and market depth. This, IMO, is better than having to rely on a third-party service such as CMC to do the checking for you. Besides, a lot of people know that they've been doing this for years now, and it's literally not news anymore for them to fake volumes.

I myself am not new to this either, just like in the social media, fake news and everything but here in the cryptoworld some of us already know what CMC are doing, faking volumes are one of their huge cases back then and after for a while I thought that they've stopped doing this, and if they're still doing it then I don't think its going to be fully reliable.
