A picture of your upcoming products surely would do some good right about now.
542  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 upgrade kit? EDIT: New info 3/11 on: April 28, 2015, 06:05:00 AM
Wow..  coming from a company that has pushed this upgrade further and further out.  Can you at least comment if you hit your spec goal from original post.  A good many of us are betting on this upgrade as long as the original specs can be met.  You should have that info by now.
We understand you don't want to sell an upgrade kit that beats your new shiny S4+ but come on the S2's life is about over.  Any further wait and you won't have any sales from us.  Your competitors new products are knocking at the door.  Time is money...... and it's time are money is spent elsewhere.

Looks like I need to start preparing, I'll be ordering Klintays' hub https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=767550 or thru Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/111455107816?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true.  Thanks for your hard work.  It's boring this year with gear that may be in the works but you've kept us all informed, that's huge.
  "God Speed!"

Companies can be shady for sure.  But even Bitmain can't weasle out of this upgrade kit twice.  Well at least I hope.
545  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: April 25, 2015, 04:21:23 PM
Compac PCB prototypes were ordered today, only about 1.5 hours behind schedule but a fair amount of that was because I spent the extra time designing a new BM1384 breakout board on which I can more effectively test parallel and string configurations. This coming week I'll be working on beefy regulator design which will end up going on the TypeZero (and probably other things that are way behind schedule), and once the new boards come in and Compacs are tested, I'll start Amita testing with the new breakout board. Hopefully there's no trouble and I can get the Amita design completed soon.

There will be no bulk discounts for the Compac. The price is the price. If you want to middleman and resell on eBay, I reckon that's fine but your inventory cost will be the same as anyone else's. I need to go back over pricing with the new design and get a bead on the actual costs so I can reevaluate the sale price, but hopefully $20 is still within reason. The Amita will have the same regulator as the Compac (I need only change two parts, I think, to get the higher voltage range out of it for a two-chip string), and then a second chip, second heatsink, 40mm more PCB and probably another dollar in support components so if the Compac sells for $20 hopefully the Amita can sell for $30.

So, question. Assuming we can get, say, 1000 chips from Bitmain, how do we want to divide them up? We could do 600x Compac and 200x Amita, or 700x Compac and 150x Amita, or something like that. Where's demand? How should we apportion things? Additionally, if Compacs cost approaching $20 to make, making 600 of them means about a $12K investment to run out the full batch. How much of this should we try to out-of-pocket, and how much should we try to gather - and by what means - before ordering materials for the batch? So basically, should we attempt a pre-order to pay for parts and get everything done in one go, or should we build as resources allow and only sell in-hand miners (at reduced and somewhat drawn-out quantities)?

Not one satoshi will be requested until after prototypes of the final design are dispersed and thoroughly tested by trusted members of the community. Do not trust anyone claiming to represent me if he acts in contradiction to this policy.

My opinion is that a preorder isn't a bad thing if done in reasonable quantities and in a transparent manner.

I'd buy a few of the USB miners for funsises, but I'm really waiting for the TypeZero.  I have a fever and the only cure is more cowbell!  Err..hashrate.

EDIT: Sent you a PM on the cables, btw.

I second that.  In this situation it would be a welcomed preorder.  I'm sure if you take investment funds then everyone would want a share.
546  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: April 25, 2015, 02:33:33 AM
That could be and wouldn't surprise me.  Just the same if the S2 upgrade kits ever get released with the initial specs the S5 and S4+ miners won't sell.
547  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: April 25, 2015, 02:27:10 AM
The usb sticks did extremely well on Ebay and any markup should be there to cover fees.  But first runs should be sold here just in case of any complications with them.  Do these need a CE certification if you sell large quantities, especially overseas?  I realize that may not be in the budget.
548  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitFury Asics? on: April 24, 2015, 11:41:34 PM
No!  They are the first original bastards to make that statement.  Shame on you Bitfury.  I believe they still sell to large farms though.
549  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: April 24, 2015, 02:55:31 AM
I hope your last statement is true, but I'm afraid they may build next gen for themselves.

Most of the huge farms are in and around Moses Lake area, more central Wash. if you go by a map.  But Washingtonians call anything east of the Cascades eastern Wash..  Spokane's energy costs I'm not sure of but is about 2 hours away from Moses Lake.  Off topic I'm sorry.
551  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S4+ available for global sales on April 20th, shipping within one week on: April 22, 2015, 04:11:04 PM
So you moved to eastern Washington?  Someday I will retire there..  it's beautiful and peaceful.

April is going fast.  Launch in April was stated in the op.  Could we please get an update?  Would love to have some running inside my home again.

553  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 upgrade kit? EDIT: New info 3/11 on: April 21, 2015, 11:31:05 PM
Dont get me wrong they are rock solid and very quite but the chips are dated its been overdue for an upgrade since he skipped the Update and offered Coupons for S4 now this time around the boards exist we know they do picures were posted on the forums but still not for sale? he knows hes got the market cornered now so he doesn't have to do the right thing for the customer anymore
Exactly, for awhile they play ball when competition is there, the minute it's not they think only about $$$$$$.  The fact that they have hushed about the kits on the forums makes you wonder if they have abandoned the whole thing to promote the S4+.
554  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 upgrade kit? EDIT: New info 3/11 on: April 21, 2015, 10:59:10 PM
I think Bitmain has demonstrated a keen sense of the Bictoin mining market, and will price an S2 upgrade accordingly. I mean by that it will NOT be cheap, nor represent any kind of huge leap for cheap. After all, once all the engineering and stuff is done, the easiest thing to do is adjust the price. I expect it will appear pretty pricey, and IF (and only IF), they need to respond to a competitive problem, they'll drop the price. Why else would they do anything different?

I don't own an S2, and am just looking at their pricing over the last 12 months.
S2's run like a miner should and they're quiet, 55-60db.  Bitmain's original spec goals deemed these worthwhile to have but time is ticking by.  I think they ran into a kink or don't want to interfere with the S4+ launch.
555  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S4+ available for global sales on April 20th, shipping within one week on: April 21, 2015, 08:20:53 PM
I like conspiracy theories but not when it messes with your financial choices.  It's not hard to believe the push for new miner specs to only be run from a farm setting.  With the added cost of shipping makes it real good for Bitmain to have your miner with them.  Just thinking out loud.  I for one don't support large farms.  Capitalism at it's best!
556  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 upgrade kit? EDIT: New info 3/11 on: April 21, 2015, 04:11:09 PM
The fact that they released the S4+  with old chips and not so nice specs makes me wonder if their original specs on the S2 upgrade kits are doable.
557  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S4+ available for global sales on April 20th, shipping within one week on: April 21, 2015, 03:28:34 AM
nice price compared to the older S4, 946 + shipping   well worth it,  but the noise at 70 db . id have to turn  it off at nite and 220 v which is np for me, its clearly meant for a data center .

Neither sound or power is a issue for me.   I am working on making a area just for mining.  I'm hoping to have it done in next week or two.

I think it's interesting this is using 220 v.   I think it shows promise for future releases aswell.    Going to 220 allows a lot more hash and options on releases.
That may be true but reducing the overall power / gh @ .58 wasn't a huge change.  If they would have used their 1384 chip we would have possibly  stayed on 110/120 and had better efficiency.  Understandable the larger rigs should be on 220/240 but Bitmain just didn't do much homework on this release.
558  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S4+ available for global sales on April 20th, shipping within one week on: April 21, 2015, 01:19:19 AM
The expected specs. released by Bitmain for the S2 upgrade kits @ >.4w per gh were indeed hopeful.  I assumed the S4+ would have been comparable.  Seems they rushed this out with little thought of who'd buy it.  They patched the psu problem with a bandaid (205v + only) and made a new record as the noisiest miner to date.  Clearly they don't listen to the public and will go the way of Bitfury and KNC to produce their own product.
559  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 5.5 btc shipped worldwideTS 4.3 th ANTMINERs alts are back ==== CHEAP!!!!!!! on: April 21, 2015, 01:02:41 AM
I think you left a decimal out of your assumed profit.  Mine @ 3.5th = .03-.05 btc a day.
560  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S4+ available for global sales on April 20th, shipping within one week on: April 20, 2015, 06:10:00 PM
Yawn. Miners this efficient were available over 8 months ago.

I don't understand why Bitmain would waste time and money updating the S4. What a waste.
Exactly.  Why .  Why.  Why!  Because their new stuff won't be available till mid/end summer.  Bitmain milk it for all you can.  The specs just aren't there.  Should have been sold has kit.  Notice I didn't say uprade kit.

Once again we don't need more miners or even better miners.  We need higher btc prices.
That one is far beyond OUR control.
