541  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: January 15, 2016, 09:03:20 PM
Why don't you do the otherwise?
Just buy as much coins as you can and hodl them.
Don't let this chance go waste.

Just forget all those bullshit "Bitcoin is dead" speculations and start buying.

542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin drops $60 on: January 15, 2016, 08:30:37 PM
Late December and early January is the transition phase between people selling Bitcoins in order to buy stuffs for enjoying their holidays.
I don't really understand why are people so worried about a simple drop?
I wonder whether you all had a heart attack when the price fell down drastically after Ross' wallets got confiscated.

BTW, let's enjoy some pun and forget about it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDl1dJoH0mI

It's because most people, when they invest into something, they only want bitcoin to go up.

Those people are not in it for the long term, they rather invest into something and sit on their profits real quick

That's not how Bitcoin works. Wink
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why saving seed in mail (secret words) isn't safe ? on: January 15, 2016, 07:47:04 PM
If you save it in an encrypted file with strong password you should be fine keeping it on an e-mail account. Even if someone gets the file they won't be able to get data.

True.
But what if your PC gets crashed and you had to format it, eventually losing the private key of your encryption software?
You just got screwed!

Yes, there might be one way to prevent this and that is to have a backup computer or laptop and using it for restoring your keys. Or, installing the software directly onto your flash drive but the latter option is more vulnerable in case you unknowingly use that flash drive on any compromised PC.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD... on: January 15, 2016, 07:34:54 PM
When the price goes up, it's dying.
When it goes down, it's dying.
When new merchants adopt Bitcoin, it's dying.
When more users discover Bitcoin, it's dying.

Whatever Bitcoin does it is always dying. It has the longest terminal illness of any technology in history.

On a serious note, Bitcoin is not dead. This is just one guy who left bitcoin to work for a bank and is now spreading FUD.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why saving seed in mail (secret words) isn't safe ? on: January 15, 2016, 06:04:09 PM
I would rather suggest not to save your password on emails because, modern password crackers are much more efficient these days.

The efficiency of password cracking depends on two largely independent things: power and efficiency.

Power is simply computing power. As computers have become faster, they're able to test more passwords per second; one program advertises eight million per second. These crackers might run for days, on several machines, simultaneously. For a high-profile police case, they might run for months.

Efficiency is the ability to guess passwords cleverly. It doesn't make sense to run through every eight-letter combination from "aaaaaaaa" to "zzzzzzzz" in order. That's 200 billion possible passwords, most of them are very much unlikely. Password crackers try the most common passwords first.

Modern password crackers combine different words from their dictionaries. They can crack these passcodes such as; "k1araj0hns0n," "Sh1a-labe0uf," "Apr!l221973," "Qbesancon321," "DG091101%," "@Yourmom69," "ilovetofunot," "windermere2313," "tmdmmj17," "qeadzcwrsfxv1331." "gonefishing1125" etc. within seconds.

Nowadays, the attacker will feed any personal information he has access to about the password creator into the password crackers. A good password cracker will test names and addresses from the address book, meaningful dates, and any other personal information it has. Postal codes are common appendages. If it can, the guesser will index the target hard drive and create a dictionary that includes every printable string, including deleted files. If you ever saved an e-mail with your password, or kept it in an obscure file somewhere, or if your program ever stored it in memory, this process will grab it. And it will speed the process of recovering your password.

One solution for not saving your passwords on your email account would be to choose something that these password crackers will miss to formulate. My advice is to take a sentence and turn it into a password. Something like "This little piggy went to market" might become "tlpWENT2m". That nine-character password won't be in any cracker's dictionary. Of course, don't use this one, because I've written about it. Choose your own sentence, something personal.

tl;dr: Make your own password which is easier to remember but harder to crack. (even with super computers Wink)
546  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: January 15, 2016, 05:19:46 PM
If you have a majority of your bitcoins still in bitcoin, I would suggest not to quit your job yet. It could turn around just as fast, if not faster, than we got here. Don't go out and purchase fast cars, yachts and houses unless you pay it entirely in cash, and make sure you tell the tax collector so you are left over with no debt at all. You don't want to be the one who literately ends up considering suicide because a stock or something similar you bet everything on collapsed. You don't want to be that guy.

You can rather quit your job when:

1. You have enough money saved to last you until you either get funding or launch a revenue generating product.

2. Your full time job is taking up so much of your time that you're just not able to dedicate enough time to your startup.
547  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] TheVault.bz account small buffered with email address on: January 15, 2016, 03:12:10 PM
I found another slightly similar domain name vlt.bz with a different description.
Is it a phishing site of this one?

How can you maintain the ratio between fresh trackers with overly saturated ones?

Is the price one time or on a monthly basis?
548  Other / Meta / Re: Signature campaign on the new forum? on: January 15, 2016, 02:38:01 PM
Personally I think there would be a phase without Signature Campaigns to see how it could improve the spamming occurrence in the forum and then after the hype is settled, it get's back in the forum.

I agree with SFR10.
theymos should at first, test out the consequence of disabling signatures for a couple of months.
Then with few iterations he can slowly start enabling it for the betterment of community as well as for the newly emerging Bitcoin-related websites.

Adding a "spam-meter" would also help in preventing obvious spams that are generally done by members nowadays in order to reach his highest post count.
549  Economy / Services / Re: High End Specification Cloud VPS service. Till 16 cores 224 GB ram - dirt cheap on: January 15, 2016, 02:08:31 PM
Are you going to give full root access to my server if I buy a particular allocation?
Or are you going to provide a shared hosting from back end?

BTW, are you reselling these VPN allocations from a reputable vendor?

Lastly, I want to know detailed report (minimum 30 days) on it's downtime periods and also on the type of security measures taken to prevent any kind of DDoS attacks.
550  Economy / Services / Re: I will give your youtube video up to 500+ REAL views for 0.0011627 ($0.5 cents) on: January 15, 2016, 01:35:50 PM
yes, cavaliersrus tried you can check above his comments.

He got 1700+ views

Aren't you exaggerating much? Where is that comment? Roll Eyes
Edit: I got it. Good then.

For those wondering, basically what I do is I post the video on a video sharing website where I have senior account.

You cannot post there youtube embeds if you are newbie, only with senior account and this takes months to build.

So views are real, give it a try

You might also try sharing it on your Facebook page and twitter as they seem to attract more in those areas.
But you need to have more followers and a stronger fan base too.

Anyways, good luck with your service.
551  Economy / Scam Accusations / Beware! ladrilhar.com is a phishing site! on: January 15, 2016, 12:32:56 PM
Do not sign up on this site!

OP is luring everyone by giving a bounty of $127 for signing up on a phishing site.

Reference Thread - 1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1328842 (first attempt, moved this one)
                             2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1328863 (second attempt with self moderation thread)

Proof - When mexxer-2 and I tried to mention this on his thread, he immediately deleted our post:

Highly likely a phishing site, do not use the pass(use temporary email generators if you don't want spam in your inbox) you use on this forum or any other place.

P.S: If this post is deleted I will understand you are confirming that this is a phishing site

Luckily I just did that.

I got quite suspicious with the amount of bounty he proposed to pay for a simple signup!
No matter what I always enter vague password from now on after that incident.
552  Economy / Services / Re: Quality Cheap Web Design,Logo Design Services and more... on: January 15, 2016, 11:54:08 AM
Can you design this theme for me? (Please do not buy it)
For demo, click here.

I also would want to add a slight customization to it and that is, if you visit here and scroll down to it's footer area, you will notice the slow changing of the background color. I would like to have that feature to the above mentioned theme.

I can help you with the code needed for that animation. You just need to implement it to that footer area:

Code:
#footerwrap{
background: none;
background-color: #45CEEF;
-webkit-animation: colorpulse 40s infinite alternate;
animation: colorpulse 40s infinite alternate;
}
@-webkit-keyframes colorpulse {
0%   { background-color: #45CEEF; }
25%  { background-color: #FFF5A5; }
50%  { background-color: #FFD4DA; }
75%  { background-color: #99D2E4; }
100% { background-color: #D8CAB4; }
}
@keyframes colorpulse {
0%   { background-color: #45CEEF; }
25%  { background-color: #FFF5A5; }
50%  { background-color: #FFD4DA; }
75%  { background-color: #99D2E4; }
100% { background-color: #D8CAB4; }
}

Also I would like to add an Exit-Intent feature with that theme. I know it can be done by this 3rd party plugin but I don't want to add more plugins as it will lead to slowing down of the site.

If you want to know how Exit-Intent works see here:

Please quote a price that is suitable for you to do this setup. Smiley
553  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for escrow on $1mm deal on: January 15, 2016, 10:19:56 AM

Never trust anyone with mere numbers.
First things first - Need for full personal verification before proceeding with some serious transactions.

You can even try 'coblee' ,i mean explore as far as possible before you step in.

Yes, Charlie Lee would be the best option IMHO.
He is in crypto for a long time and has a strong background base.

I think Herstatt risk wouldn't be much of a problem for Bitcoin transactions.
554  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for escrow on $1mm deal on: January 15, 2016, 08:11:12 AM
Why would anyone care to help someone else out and do all the work for pennies? Yes i understand this is a large deal but the fee should be there regardless of the amount of any deal. 1% is way too low IMO but possibly doable being as the size of the deal is large but less than 1% youre not gonna find anyone but a theif.

True fact. A free escrow can be done upto a certain limit where the escrow provider doesn't have to take extra precaution for holding the funds.
But for the said amount a significant amount of fees is a must for escrow to done safely. One such instance is bitpop who always take fees (at least transaction fees) even if you escrow 0.001BTC to him and I respect him for that. Escrowing such a huge amount is not an easy task to manage and for that 1% fee is never enough. I will never go for an escrow where one does it for free or a much lesser fee because it seems too good to be true for me.

If the counterparties to the escrow know 100% how 2-of-3 or 3-of-3 multi-sig works, they can grill any potential escrow agent to test their expertise. It's not so much that they're trying not to find a thief, it's that they want someone who can't be bribed to collude with one counterparty. The legal contracts and real-world identities would deter bribery.

Then a 4 of 5 multi-sig or more than that will definitely work. Also I would like to add that each one should share their valid identity proofs though video taping because $1M isn't a matter of joke. Nobody should just judge a person having +1000 trust with that amount.

I can do this for you. If you want you can use my website, escrowmybits.com, but for such a large amount I understand if you would prefer it not be via the website. I have sent you a pm, feel free to reply back when you have a chance.

How safe and reliable it is to ensure OP that the site won't go offline after receiving the funds?

all documents claimed, this thread is now for turning in jobs

I have been seeing this for a long time without an update.
There might be someone with late submission or missing pages until now.

Let me know if there are any vacancies left for me to begin with.
I would like to invest my leisure time in this job. Smiley

Noted and thanks . That would be also better Smiley

I'm continuing for this week too.  Smiley

Really? Can you show me the proof via pm regarding his "exceptional" quality code?

Because, as far as I noticed, he's a brand new member. Roll Eyes

558  Economy / Services / Re: Paying $0.05 worth of BTC for simple signup (Paid: $1) on: January 10, 2016, 08:18:07 PM
What actually is this site about? I might try if it's not illegal of some sort.

You may explain in PM if you prefer privacy though.

Edit: He paid me after signing up as promised via pm. Thanks.
559  Economy / Services / Re: need signature designer on: January 10, 2016, 08:15:41 AM
I vouch for SFR10. He is awesome in creating catchy signatures and has an idea of what colors to use that would significantly enhance a branding.

You can check out his portfolio here.

need cheap signature designer.

In fact, his rates are pretty cheap IMHO. Wink
560  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 🌟Free URL Shortener Service -Shorten & Track ur BitcoinTalk Urls -200k Served on: January 10, 2016, 07:59:20 AM
Since this is a free service, it would be best if you remove the mandatory sign up option just like Bitly.com.

BTW, it's nice to see that nocroom beats bitly in character count for shortened URLs. Wink

For example:

  • bctk.pw/byeE9 (11 characters excluding the period and forward slash)
  • bit.ly/1PQxfRA (12 characters excluding the period and forward slash)

Also it can be shortened further by using bct.pw instead of bctk.pw. Just an advice though.
