2 month delay, thats like 2 years in BTC mining. Basically there wont be any ROI - with even extremely conservative difficulty increases (60% per month), we are looking at ~15B difficulty for early May.
Even with a few extra 25% "bonus" hashes which is a complete joke, these arent going to be worth nearly as much BTC as we paid for them. 2 months time for BA to "test" them for us? Nice, how thoughtful.
Sometimes you gamble and win, sometimes you gamble and get BFL'd.

I would not get your hopes up for end Feb guys. If I get my x3 by the end of March I will be happy, anything before that is gravy

RIP Gox in 2014, its easy to see this company is in a nosedive and the pilot, Mark Karpeles, is asleep at the wheel

"However, mining has gotten so difficult that miners have begun joining in mining pools to increase their chances" ........................

Ripple: First centralized coin, funded by Google. Very cheap and a promising future. DOGE: Didn't like it at first, but this coin has proven itself to be good, buy some while it's cheap.
Ripple is not "funded by Google" and Doge hasnt been "proven" to be anything its barely a month old

It comes down to ownership/management, anyone competent would not let such a profitable unique business opportunity languish, and would tear down any and all walls night and day until withdrawl issues were 100% sorted, even if it meant moving the business to another country or a huge cash investment to comply with local laws (like being a registered money transmitter in the USA).
Basically the new owner, Mark Karpeles, isnt a Bitcoin guy, recently got obscenely rich, and cant be bothered to run his business. Hes most likely trying to shop it, but nobody is buying cause the brand is tarnished.

So basically you decided to max out your credit cards to mine dogecoins on digital ocean, and it didnt work out, and now you come to us all like And we were all like

People are bad at math. Like, really bad

Is that for real?
quite possibly just a promotion but I have no idea

Sounds expensive to print. Maybe include one bitcoin embedded in the book, make it a book/paper wallet novelty item coffee table chat piece
Limited collectors edition, 100 copies only. Price: 2BTC

Stability will begin come when the mining game starts to wind down, maybe after the next reward halving, but this ship has a long way up to go first

http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/01/24/bitcoin-is-not-yet-ready-for-the-real-world/This is from the Dealbook section of the Times, which is like a blog of business related opinion pieces. Still, its troubling that a venerated institution such as the NYT would host such uninformed opinions as: "Could it be that this coding genius is instead enjoying computer-manufactured riches on some remote, tax-free island, or is he a cyber-terrorist who upon Bitcoin adoption will activate a Trojan-horse virus to bring world commerce back to the Stone Age?"

Im quite interested, but feeling like a pretty confused 5 year old right now. Id like to do some CPU mining and contribute, but there is no info I see on how to get prepared for the launch Not that I see ASICs as the end of the world, just a natural evolution, but Id like for the author of ethereum to address this: http://bitslog.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/ethereum-dagger-pow-is-flawed/

Although I cant proclaim a technical understanding of the issue, making your research public is certainly appreciated. Ethereum seems quite ambitious, to say the least
If it requires ID or any interaction with a person to use, I dont see it as much use vs something like Coinbase.
Do you need to provide ID to use it? How about in the USA?
Definitely one of the better threads on this site, I wish I could contribute but at this time Im content to sit back, read as much as possible and learn.
Keep it up gentlemen.

That is what I suggested, lol! You can mine as few kh/s as you want on basically any card. But the r9 are cool and quiet with good efficiency, no other real choice in 2014
R9, resale will be higher, better efficiency, cooler... etc

look you wont make any btc with the network difficulty sky high
You see that dipshit? A first batch pre-order Neptune just sold for 26k on ebay. I should be able to get at least 30k each for my 3 VIP orders. So thats a total of 90k on a 30k investment. That is what I call ROI! Youre just a hardware reseller, you arent mining. I agree, this is the best way to get an ROI, but I prefer to mine for 4-6 weeks first for some extra BTC. Its pretty simple math, people are bad at math and think "EZ INTERNET MONEYZ OMG BTC" so Im happy to separate them from their cash, its gonna go somewhere so might as well be me. Sadly, I realized this is how Josh Zerlan feels and this fact doesnt really make me feel good... but such is life
