541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion about Dash on: April 12, 2017, 11:10:25 AM
Anyone who is using the term premine with Dash clearly does not know the meaning of the word
premine and therefore should really look up the definition of that word. They make themself look
like a fool using that word.

You can use coinmarketcap to see which cryptocurrencies are premined, you will not find Dash
classified as premined there as it never was premined.

You are right qwizzie, but people consider it as a premine because it was instamined. It is logical because you can either send x amount on y height (premine) or set the mining diff very low on x amount of blocks, which is instamine, so in the end the result is totally the same, a huge amount of coins at the disposal of the developer.

But people should know that even bitcoin have a shaddy 1 million address, all the cryptos have this, at least for testing purposes.

543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to make altcoin ? on: April 11, 2017, 10:11:18 PM
Cloning a coin is easy, maintaining is something totally different. Create your coin, and then try to maintain the blockchain, i am sure it will stuck after a month or two.
Don't play with something you know nothing about, use the guides to learn, and when you are sure that you are able to maintain the coin, you will have so much experience that you won't need to create it, trust me.
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the altcoin market saturated? What 'features' might be needed still? on: April 11, 2017, 10:08:49 PM
Given, we have about 1k alts now and only a few with significant trading vol ( agreed this is fishy, but vols < 1Mio$ per day is crap)

How is the distribution, still very central?

Given, that we have Turing Complete Alts = TCA that should be able to mimic all we might need? Could we replace all alts with these TCAs?

Or do we just need to be scammed more and more and every day like in shiny Casino industry?

Pump & Dump!

 Huh

No one forced you to invest in scam projects, remember what the bitcointalk staff and most expereienced and wise users say "Never invest what you can't afford to loose"

We (users like me, who knows what are ICOs) are always warning people not to invest in ICOs, i also warn people not to focus on financial matters only, it is not a roulette, it is a project.

If you don't want to be scammed, then just don't invest in shaddy projects, ask questions and bother them as much as you want untill they are revealed, if not, then you can safely invest.

P&D isn't caused by coin owners, most of the time it is done by some kids with a minimal amount of bitcoins, some times it is the exchanges who do this, just to get more volume. This is the fault of the altcoin "hippies", open a serious thread about the code quality of altcoins (like i did) and count the amount of responses, then open a thread about the price of a coin and you will see the difference. All of this is due to the ignorance of the crowd who keeps crying when they are scamed, while not listening when they warned about ICOs.
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Planning to create a new cryptocurrency on: April 11, 2017, 10:02:07 PM
Guys im planning to create a new cryptocurrency but scared to failed. Do you think newbie like me have a chance?

Newbies have a chance as long as your intentions are good, if you want to make an ICO you will fail.
You can find help in the forum, expose your project, and never for people who propose to help you for money.
Do not post a recruitment or call to participation on the different sections of the forum, instead, check for the users who reveals Scams, check for skilled developers, and expose then your project.
You should definitly take a year or two to learn the basics of some languages because you will have big troubles to find developers to help you. And you will need that knowledge to check their work and ensure there is no backdoor.

Frankly i really think that you can do it, if it is legit, but you will need a lot of time to realise your objectives. And please, don't go for ugly templates, try to do something nice and professional.

Cloning a coin isn't as easy as people seems to say, following a tutorial will only show you how to clone, not how to maintain, and it asks for money, like nodes hosting, website creation and maintenance, if it is a complex project you will need servers, so it is a lot of expences.

Plan it carefully or you will fail.
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give 1 attribute that current cryptocurrencies lack until now? on: April 11, 2017, 09:52:30 PM
I can give you a list if you want :

- Better distribution
- Complete integration API
- Enhance code quality
- Better Community management
- More user friendly features
- New features
- Expanding to the real world
- Anti Pump and Dump measures
- Anti FUD features
- Anti Scam features

I could make it bigger, but it think that if you can find a crypto who complains with this, she would be aleready on top N°1.
547  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE CASINO - GET YOUR CUT FROM DAILY TREASURE CHEST! on: April 11, 2017, 09:41:15 PM
I logged in with my Bitdice account and I saw the Daily Treasure Chest . I open my daily treasure chest and I got this :

Seems better luck next time to me Grin.

This is really great addition, it makes the player to look forward for another day to open the chest and see what awaits us.  I hope I will get lucky next time  Smiley

I am always having empty chests, what is your level ? I am at zero, so i suppose it is normal.

Is it possible to know what kind of updates or upgrades are planned on the platform ? i am curious about the future developments.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there any services which offer API for ETHereum transaction ? on: April 11, 2017, 03:41:52 PM
i am curious to know why you want it though? if you can share your plans here, please do.

I want to integrate ETH exchange direction for my exchanger http://uniex.co

Quote
You can use the ether scan API to broadcast transactions, or you can try to find a web3 provider, or, a webhook. Blockcypher have an API for ethereum.

https://etherscan.io/pushTx
https://www.blockcypher.com/dev/ethereum/#creating-transactions

Just take the time to dig deeper.

Thanks, I'll explore it  Smiley

I don't advise you to use these APIs for exchange matters, you should use a pruned ethereum node, you can do this either with geth or parity, here is a good article : http://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/3332/what-is-the-parity-light-pruning-mode
Then just use the native web3 api, or any other. Unfortunately it is the best way to add ethereum to an exchange, as you would have to subscribe for extended services if you use these APIs as they are limited to a certain amout of calls.

550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion about Dash on: April 11, 2017, 01:27:47 PM
OP (qwizzie?), please revise your poll, you are ocmparing what cannot be compared, Bitcoin is different from Dash, each one have different features from the other.

i think that dash took the throne of litecoin, mining is more decentralized than bitcoin, because x11 asic are a new thing, and dash coem with betetr efatures like anonymity and masternodes, i see dash as an enhanced ltiecoin, i still don't like they did with the swap from darkcoin, and its instamine

Again comparing coins who have nothing to do with each other, different Algos, different features, different mining.

While I do think that it started out on bad terms with the premine, I don’t think it is overall a bad coin and will have it’s place in the cryptocurrecy market for years to come.

The premine isn't an issue at all, as long as they release clean, and well made code it doesn't matters.

Dash's future will be determined by the next update, i think that they have good chances to be considered as one of the majors once and for all.
qwizzie, you should deploy more efforts to explain how to compare a currencie with annother.
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to study an altcoin on: April 10, 2017, 10:44:06 PM
I recently created a post on how to evaluate the quality of a coin thus, how much you should invest (as it seems that it is what every one wants to know here) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1853469.0
This is more focused on technical specs of coins, and how to identify a scam ICO, or at least, the minimal work to do before investing.
This way, if you are scamed by a shitcoin ICO, you would have been warned, and teached how to avoid them.
552  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to create site like blockchain.info ? on: April 10, 2017, 10:40:59 PM
Appreciate the lengthy post but you're not 100% accurate.Let me clarify on a few topics.

Such sites are easy to do as long as you know how to integrate Bitcoin, let me give you some clues :
No,this isn't just about bitcoins. You should probably know in's and out's of blockchain.

- Creating a web Wallet
Why ? If he's just hinting at starting a block explorer ,he doesn't necessarily need to create a wallet.

- You must know how to manage server Loads
AWS's load balancers of Nginx pretty much takes care of that. Can be automated, not something to worry about.

Maybe MySql isn't your best option here, a nosql database should work better as they usually natively support JSON encoding, which will help you a lot with the design, data recovery from the database, API responses ...
JSON RPC,in short terms.

He said a copy of blockchain.info, i gave just "clues" and tried to make my post as clear as possible, even for non experienced users.

Knowing in's and out's ? what do you mean ?

Yes, usual block explorers doesn't provide WebWallet services, but as he asked for something like blockchain.info, WebWallet is mandotory.

AWS, yes, for who ever can afford to pay for them, especially during development phase.

No, JSON RPC is a communication protocole, i am talking about the database to use in order to store the blockchain locally, because you can't ask for the daemons to provide you with data each time a user needs to see them. Using an SQL database (MySQL, MariaDB) isn't really compliant with bitcoin's RPC protocole because of the JSON format, so it is better to use a NO-SQL database http://nosql-database.org/ in order to get and store the database informations quickly and easily. Bitcoin uses leveldb, you can do the same, or use couchDB for example.

Joel, i don't want to provide too much informations nor go with technical datas, the post is meant for every user, from newbie to experienced, as experienced users will easily know what i am talking about (like you), and newbies have enough to google the keywords.
553  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to create site like blockchain.info ? on: April 10, 2017, 04:59:11 PM
Such sites are easy to do as long as you know how to integrate Bitcoin, let me give you some clues :

- You need solid servers (not only one)
- You need several daemons (One won't be enough)
- You need to create the external API
- Creating a web Wallet
- You must know how to manage server Loads
- You must know how to manage the servers/Daemons failover
- You need a lot of PHP and Javascript
- You must choose your environment wisely

Now some clues on how to do it :

Maybe MySql isn't your best option here, a nosql database should work better as they usually natively support JSON encoding, which will help you a lot with the design, data recovery from the database, API responses ...

You must think about security when working with the WebWallet as many of them can be hacked. Usually, a seed phrase with a temporar storage is ok, or you can create some unique variable, and attribute it as an ID for your users, but you shall not use the daemons to generate the keys, instead, use JS libraries to generate some keypairs, and then compute the private key from the hash used for user ID to process payments and manage wallet addresses.

You have to think about what API to offer, they will have to be limited to a certain amount of calls/hour, because else, people will abuse it, you can monetize on this point but if you want to have chances to earn from it, you must offer a clear API with many functionalities.
You must also provide REST API and websocket API, with a full documentation. Other kind of services are considered as Extras like blockchain.info's RPC API.
You should also focus on providing different products for each kind of user, like a development API for Devs with advanced Features and calls.
A merchant API with account management for their customers, easy send/Receive methods, and cheap fees for TXs (you can group them)
A common API like getting an address informations, Fees of a transaction ...

This is why this project isn't a one man project, you need a lot of hands to help you, i don't doubt that you are able to do it.
554  Economy / Services / Re: BitDice Casino Signature Campaign [WILL START 1 DECEMBER] on: April 10, 2017, 09:07:20 AM
Payments received, thanks BoXXoB and Alex.

Regarding the campaign, i understand the position of Alex, maybe he don't want to let BoXXoB to manage the funds because of an accounting or law restriction ?
Remember that Bitdice is a regulated gambling website, so they must complain their local laws, maybe this is why it takes so much time to deliver the payments.
For the amounts been lowered, it is normal, if you pay for a marketing campaign who doesn gives the expected result you have only three options :

1- Stop it.
2- Reduce the budget.
3- Relaunch with a bigger investment.

It all depends on how the Alex is regarding marketing, the more aggressive, the more he will invest.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Projects By CODE Quality on: April 10, 2017, 08:59:33 AM
While I don't think that many are actually able to read the code and most of those that can, didn't check the code of more than 1-2 coins, I am curious of what comments will this bring.
Many will vote their favorite coins, so I don't expect the poll tell anything.
But I would like to see (by comments) the public perception on code quality, for the big rivals DASH/Monero and for some other coins too.

I feel like Bitcoin should not be in the list because .. Bitcoin is Bitcoin. It is expected that code is good and it's known to meet that expectation well enough.

You are right, but you know, every one have his own opinion on bitcoin. that's why i added him.

Regarding the duality of XMR/DASH, trust me, by code quality and maturation, DASH is really far above XMR.
XMR devs should focus on extending the possibilities of the daemon and the wallet, or even better, fuse them which will bring a bigger ecosystem for them. the actual system isn't made for merchants integration and this is why DASH will stay above XMR, if they were to work more on these methods XMR would takeover DASH's place, because they have more aggresive supporters.
At least, this is my opinion for both @spoetnik: code quality, community value.
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They found Satoshi on: April 10, 2017, 08:55:09 AM
@iamnotback : Do you know if any community member ever saw satoshi or gave him a call ? Like one if the developers who worked with him, or someone with a decent reputation ? I think that it is the best way to get a confirmation about the real identity of nakamoto, it involves a deep investigation, not only in internet, but physical presence in some key places.
Following your theory (which not 100% sure, either it wouldn't be a theory) one should investigate Nash's life, visiting the places where he worked, meeting family, friends (if they are still alive), and conduct an extencive investigation in order to determine wether he is nakamoto, or one of the nakamotos, or neither.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Projects By CODE Quality on: April 10, 2017, 08:45:35 AM
Quote
Code quality is dependent on age / maturity in regards to security & stability.
It's not just about Hungarian notation or writing "good code".
You also have to gauge the result with the intention and then the track record of security & stability.

You are totally right, and this is the main purpose of this POLL. I mean, comparing ICO shitcoins with legit coins, i know that Altcoin section is mainly used for speculation and ICO promotion, but i wanted to see the reaction of people regarding this point. As i expected, there is just a few answers.

Quote
It's possible some poorly written hobbled together code by a noob could out perform a masterful pro job buy a team of experts.

This happens every day. On this point, bitcoin core team is always looking for developers to participate to the development of Bitcoin, regardless of your age, skills, gender or anything, as long as you can help, you are welcome. If you just want to have a look, and do some suggestions, you are welcome also.

Quote
And those scammy ass fucking ICO shitcoins suck balls.
When you talk about code quality and you bring up gay ass ICO faggotry it make me laugh my god damn balls off.

Your poetry is legendary !

Quote
I told you all 1,000 times and you still don't get it..
The distribution is the important part (especially the initial distribution)
And what did all those coins in the Poll options do ?
They side stepped the "problem" and went on to do an ICO.
That is like trying to make a new type of vehicle that runs on a revolutionary power source by putting some nice shiny wheels on it.

This is what i always repeat too, but they don't care about these informations, and this is why i explained how to check for such details in the code.
As of now, all the coin projects use the same BIP specs, just a few of them changed it (this is just an example)

Quote
Every shithead Altcoin coder COMBINED does not compare to the skill in Satoshi's pinky finger.
A scene full of idiot douche bags.
Best code ? none .. 0.. zip.. nadda.

I agree, Satoshi was a real master coder, but he didn't worked alone on Bitcoin, he was supported by many users who are still in the forum, or in the IRC chans.
For the code quality, Bitcoin is a flagship, followed by Litecoin. check both repos and you will find a lot of similarities, like "Sipa" who is working on both projects, and luke-Jr, laanwj , wtogami ... They are all developers who contributes to both Litecoin and Bitcoin (they contribute a lot this is why they are noticed).

Quote
If i had to pick one off the top of my head that DID have some skill and vision etc ?
SunnyKing.
99.99% are useless little pieces of shit.

Totally right, except the 99.99%, i would say 99.98% because there are some projects who are really good, but needs a lot more time to be matured. Regardless of the ICO thing, the code and idea are good, they should be given a chance to realise their objectives.

Just a note: a blockchain is a database, so i don't think that can create annother way to store datas, even if so, it would still be a database, so it is useless to try to recreate the car, especially if it is to end up with a "car".

Nice promos, you really deploy a lot of efforts to attract new customers, the temptation to join you is growing.
I am also happy that you finally resolved the scam accusation, and i particularly liked how you solved it. Many companies would have banned the user because of the reputation problems he caused, but instead, you offered him the chance to join again, and that was great.
Good luck for your next operations.
559  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex and BTC Withdrawls on: April 09, 2017, 09:40:06 AM
How about generating your own bitcoin keypair ?

Have a look in github and you will find several ways to generate bitcoin private key and public key. Then just send what you mined to that address. they will be stored safely but you should print a page with the content of the private key, and a qrcode, just in case your computer gets hacked, burned, demolished.
Then when you want to spend them, just follow this guide : http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/5941/how-do-i-import-a-private-key-into-bitcoin-qt
when your transaction gets ~6 confirmations, you can then destroy the wallet.dat file, this way no one can access the wallet.
Re import when needed.

You can do this with ETH also from a browser console, or a terminal, so your datas are always safe as you don't provide your private key.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Guide For Altcoins Rating on: April 09, 2017, 09:29:19 AM
Regarding the activity of this thread, i believe that Alcoins Fans are only attracted by the price, instead of the project it self.
In this case, they deserve to loose money in scam ICOs.
