It's fake and was posted by cryptoboh who is a known pump and dumper. We even use skype for internal stuff and don't really use irc alot.

rofl, he spelled battbot's name "battbott" with two "t's" at the end.  nice try, obvious fake.

hhhaha I just noticed that
even "battbott" joined #posa (and not #XCofficial)

It's an epic FAIL attempt of a pump for the other coin

This get's better and better.

Friendly reminder :

Please don't hate on other coins in this thread. Other coins have a similar devoted community like us here at XC. Attacking the fundamentals of other coins is unprofessional. Also, remember that fud sticks to whoever posts it. We pride ourselves in being cool headed and courteous, whenever another coin gains some market recognition, congratulate them and focus on our own task. Remember that on a strategic level all coins that have legitimate development are an attempt to be free from the oppressive banking system and or privacy infringement. We are all pioneers albeit with different stakes or claims, battles should be fought against our shared adversary, not among ourselves.

Regardless if you support DRK, CLOAK or XC we are all crypto brothers.

Will everyone please read this post and try to keep things on track in here.  Enough of the back and forth, everyone is free to support the crypto they want, we all want freedom, privacy, and innovation.  Competition is a good thing.  Thank you.

Agreed, let's change the topic.

Hey guys I've been crazy busy at work all day did I miss anything??

***The XC Daily Update***

Hello all

It's been confirmed by the developers that XChat will include voice calling in post-Rev 3 editions, and video calling further into the future.

So basically we have a decentralised, private, Skype.

Here's to the future!

I know its a few months out but I will be purchasing a new phone within the next two months.  Any idea what mobile platforms you will be developing the app for?

Get a G3... I have it and love it.

Hey mate, I like your posts in DRK, maybe we should just start reposting the "questions" from the DRK trolls in the XC thread straight back into the DRK thread as valid queries lol

I was actually hoping you were lying because damn that username is epic.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy / Encrypted XChat / Privacy Platform on: July 31, 2014, 07:27:42 PM
Is it going to be based on XMPP or custom protocols?
What about delays and jitter which would be enormous in multihop P2P and likely leading to unsatisfactory call quality?

From Dan's Linked in page:  https://www.linkedin.com/pub/dan-metcalf/12/1a8/b82

Wireless Consultant
Homeland Security Wireless
January 2005 – June 2009 (4 years 6 months)
Developed Large Scale Mobile Mesh Wireless which supports dynamic connection between multiple Access Points with out packet loss - an Industry First!

I think he knows what he's doing.   Grin

Yep, but that's slightly different thing. Large scale wireless without packet loss is great, but P2P for voice is pretty much different as you deal with peers who could have bad Internet connections, introducing high delays and jitter. It is likely that voice call would be routed via multiple peers for increased security causing delays and jitter multiplication which is killing for real-time apps like voice/video calls.

Totally realistic approach, but then again better have him working on it than some anonymous dev... Team has already announced a lot of exciting collaborations, we can only imagine what might be happening in the background, perhaps if some big player joins this and provides the resources I feel the team can achieve anything, they have already delivered so much. I am desperately trying to trade my way up.

This ^^

Not that mesh network and p2p voice/video calling are the same thing.  But, with his previous experience in the mobile field, I have all the confidence in the world that he knows what he is dealing with and has already thought about the complexity of the problem at hand.

This is not like some unknown dev came out and suddenly announce that they are going to produce a decentralized skype with absolutely no previous background, but at least a dev that has been there before in the field.

+1 many coins have "announced" they will feature voice chat and video chat but they all failed because of incompetent development. That is why XC will reign supreme. Man I am stoked for the future of this coin.

The thing that you all are forgetting is Dan is more than happy to bring in help if needed, we already have multiple expert coders lead by Dan.

Good lord!  Feel like my head is about to explode.

So you are telling me when this is all completed we could install the XCurrency App on our phone run an XNode automatically while staking at the same time and have private Skype functionality?!?!?

Yes, that is what they are telling you.

AFK while I sell my house...

Precisely.

XC's design has had mobile platforms in mind from the outset.

BTW, should that email icon be a chat bubble icon instead or is this another hint?

That's more of a marketing image, the actual ui will probably be diffrenet but it might not be.

Does anyone know why the max price graph on Mint just shows a flat line?
No, but you should not use it anyway as it gives you a exceptionally poor chart to work with. Don't trade off Mintpal charts.

Use this https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/xcbtc

Yup its a great site

125,000 XC premine?

That is quite a hefty premine if you ask me.

2.27% of all coins to exist in the form of a premine.

Sorry gonna pass on this one.

Well thanks for your consideration. The premine has been used for hirining talented indviduals that contribute towards the coin. You can find the team here (http://xc-official.com/the-xc-team/) and i'm not sure about you but I think that's a great use of the money. Further it will be used for future development.

I hope that you have considered more aspects of the coin and not just looked at the premine. However, we all have fundementals and if your not willing to invest in a coin with proven superior tech as well as a dedicated team because of a premine then it's your choice.

The TOR Stick, with the latest XChat, will be available for download on Thur next week.

Is this mean that we can start ordering the TOR stick?

On Thursday next week you'll be able to download the latest TOR Stick ISO with XChat implemented (for free).

Purchasing the physical version will happen in time for delivery by Rev 3.

I really need this to be clarified for tech-illiterates like me. I am extremely interested in this, but I am not sure: downloading the tor stick iso for free will enable us to burn it to a USB and have the very exact features of the official Tor XChat stick? If that's the case, why should some1 buy the original physical version, just for the looks? Not that I mind, but I want to be sure!

Yes you'll be able to download the TOR Stick for free and put it on any removable media you like (or just run it in a virtualised environment). XC will always be free.

On the other hand if you want something that looks as cool as this then you'll have to pay a little bit:

oh thank you, cool situation to be in anyways ^^

Well it will be black alloy and engraved since that's what most people voted on for at least batch 1.

So, I've been doing a little research on XC and other anonymous coins, just so that I can have a better understanding of something I might invest in. I'm a little hung up on how the xNode protocol works, though. Is it like Monero's CryptoNote? I'm not sure if there's tension between XC and Monero/CryptoNote/etc, and if there is then I'll bring my question elsewhere. Not trying to cause any trouble, I'm just genuinely curious.

I'ts a decentrlised multipath anon system. Basically every wallet is a node, every time you send a anon tx it goes to multiple nodes.
