761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does any of the bitcoin friendly banks allow opening of accounts remotely? on: July 08, 2014, 12:23:57 PM
Basically most banks within the UK are friendly to Bitcoin, I've had transactions with the name Bitcoin come up multiple times and didn't hear a single word from both Barclays and Hsbc. In fact, I even mentioned that I use it for Bitcoins to HSBC and they didn't care at all but actually asked me to tell them a few more things about Bitcoin. Further some banks on the channel island have come out and said they want bitcoin.

Does any of them open accounts for non-residents?

Hmmm that's a good question, the channel island is basically a tax haven so I would be surpised if they didn't

Yes my post clearly shows how selfish I am. Well thought out. I actually wasn't talking about the xc "community" but this entire forum in general and specifically the assholes demanding updates, complaining about everything, or just spreading lies.

But what you call community I just see as a bunch of people projecting. Every little thing that gets posted is great news because they want it to be great news because that would increase their capital. If I want to read such fawning I can go back to the drk thread where people call Evan a genius on every other post.

I left drk because of that and the infamous twitter post. It showed me how poorly managed they are. And now I'm getting the same feeling from your post.

Sorry about that, now that you have explained it, I see that your point is valid. However as you mentioned this crypto, we are all excited no matter what coin we are in.

A short calculation for staking:

POS interest: 3.33% per year
Min stake time: 8 hours
Max Stake time: 30 Days

So if i start staking with 2000XC
i get

2000XC*0.033=66XC in a year. 5,5XC per month and ~0,2XC per day

Am i right?

Well that's the optimal situation but in a day, you might get more or you might get nothing. However if you stake for an entire year, it will always work out to 3.33%

What a shame such a revolutionary technology has been given to probably the worst generation of people ever, the ones who deserve it the least. Reading these forums always cause massive spikes in my blood pressure, but I have to do it anyway. What a bunch of selfish drama queen prima donnas you are, not all of you. Some of you are liars secretly supporting other coins. And most of you are just stupid. For god's sake pump and dump went from being a very specific form of securities fraud to meaning any and every movement in price for any reason whatsoever because you people have no idea what you're talking about. The internet of crypto has taken what little hope I had for humanity and bludgeoned it with a hammer. Here's to hoping this technology survive and makes it to some people who actually deserve and appreciate it, and more importantly actually support it instead of just trying to take advantage of it to get rich overnight. To the good ones I'm sorry. We're just too outnumbered.

This post is a prime example of people who are 'selfish drama queen prima donnas', your words not mine. We have a great community but hey that's my opinion and the other is yours

Who should I trust... Dan Metcalf a rising young star in the Cryptoworld, on the precibus of launching the FIRST & ONLY coin to have 100% truly decentralized & trustless mixing.

Or a bunch of newbie accounts who have minor issues with the release?

Seriously?

The dev & teams actions speak for themselves..or rather not speak.

They have probably gone to bed whilst making a fortune from you suckers....

Yup sure not because I was up for 20 something hours... answering question, cssing reddit, reading emails etc. Same goes for the entire team, Arlyn was up for probably an entire day.

On top of the forums, you can communicate directly with us VIA Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook. We are very active and responsive to any comment or concern that anyone may have. Thank you for your continued support, and remember to hit that 'Like' and 'Follow' button!

Twitter: https://twitter.com/XCplatform
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/officialXC
Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/XCofficialreddit/

Who should I direct this to?

For some reason I cannot access the official xc forums at home regardless of the device and it says "You are not allowed to visit this community" leading me to believe my home address has been ip blocked for some reason.  At work it works just fine.  I have never posted anything malicious or even negative for that matter so I have no idea why this would be the case.  Who should I contact?  I tried to email address listed (forum@xctalk.com) and it bounced.

Me send me a pm, sometimes a  manual rest of your pass and stored keys fixes it. Also send me your home ip.

Such amazing things in development... XC is truly leading the way in revolutionizing digital currency!

From "XC Future" section (visit www.xc-official.com for greater details on each):

XC MOBILE
XCurrency was designed to go with you – wherever you go.  (including mobile staking!!!)

CLOUD STORAGE
XC’s platform can offer secure, decentralized storage through its network.

PAYMENT NETWORKS
With point of sale and ATM integration, make payments with XC anywhere.

NFC PAYMENTS
Simple and quick, NFC is the future.  Let us explain why XC and NFC are a great match.

BLOCKCHAIN 2.0 APPS
Blockchain 2.0 makes nearly anything possible.

WEB 3.0 DEVELOPMENT
XC looks to the future with Web 3.0 development.

PROOF OF BLOCKCHAIN
Is PoBC the next big wave in cryptocurrency?  If so, XC will be there.  (Jasinlee, an XC developer, is the inventor of PoBC!)

Wow... XC is not just aiming for anonymity... they are aiming for it all.

I am not interested in announcements... Where is the new wallet? Can't wait to test it out.

If you're not inrested in xc as platform than you might be in here for the wrong reason. The wallet is coming, we have met every deadline so far. Also shouting that you want it now is not helping anything.

Snowden revealed yesterday that every person who googled about tor is classified as an extremist. What do you think is your classification if they found out that you have used the tor service already?

go to your Anoncoin and FUD there  Grin

It's not fud, it just shows a problem with governments. Do you really think that if they are branding everyone who uses tor as extremist then you aren't doing the same for Bitcoin/crypto enthusiasts?

Something to potentially quote when the idea of blockchain-based terrorism is raised:

It is abundantly clear that the blockchain opens up an entirely new realm of benefits and risks. It is a radical game-changer.

But while the power of blockchain-based technology is immense, and while there are clear use-cases for it that are unethical, this does not amount to any kind of warrant for the alternative: vast data mining of personal information, internet architecture not optimised to protect individual liberty and privacy, and the opportunity for any party sufficiently powerful to abuse human rights to get its way.

To cast blockchain technologies as unethical due to the risks is therefore unwarranted because the alternatives are not more ethical. It's also to refuse to play a game that, henceforth, the world simply has no option but to play. Blockchains are here, and there's no making them go away.

So onward is the only option presented to the world. As such, XC is committed to the ethical use of its technology. Just as legal systems and taxation are "technologies" that regulate the old systems, completely new technologies, conceived along radically different political lines, will be required to allow humanity to thrive in a blockchain-based world. This is the irresistible future, and XC will co-create it with the highest and most optimistic of expectations.

Is it me or did they forgot to mention that nothing beats fiat for funding terrorism? Also xc doesn't endorse any illegal behaviour, it's for people who care about privacy.

Is anyone updating the links from the 1st page of this thread? Also the download links on the new site don't seem point to anything. If anyone has links to the linux binaries I'd appreciate it. I'd like to update some nodes. Where do people usually get the binaries from?

Downloads will be added when REV2 is officially released later tonight, I would imagine.

Redirects back to the main page lol

I meant as in the op, sorry for the confusion. PowderMonkey was right.

I'm sorry, but no other coin does it like XCurrency.

XC is by far, the most professional digital currency in the altcoin scene.  Dan Metcalf was CEO of a tech security firm -- and it shows.  He knows exactly what he's doing, and exactly what he needs to do to make XC competitive not simply with altcoins, but with Bitcoin itself.

Look out world, XC is coming... and fast!

And this is great for XC, but i'm not asking about this, i'm wanting to know the technicals about PoBC.

See here is the thing, xc is an entire platform if you are focusing on only the blockchain which mind you is great from a technical standpoint then you're missing the point.

Hang in there community. It'll come.

Sorry that EST time isn't to everyone's convenience. The tricky part about living on a spheroid is there's always someone on the wrong side of the world to you.

Hey, that last line wasn't part of my post.

BTW we scheduled all the releases today. There's been lots to bring out. We haven't even launched the website yet. And how will you download the app if the site isn't accessible? DNS records need to be straightened out, etc.

Sorry I don't know how that line got tied up w/your post.

Thos bloody leprechauns are at it again...  Wink
