Unfortunately, there are many people who suffer from a huge gambling addiction. There is very little you can do about that as a community. You can also hardly blame the gambling sites for continuing to advertise a lot, in the end the gambling addicts are the people from whom companies earn the most money in the long run. There are many different tragic stories, but there are also stories of people who like to gamble occasionally for fun. Then you should think of a casino rather than an online gambling site. I have never been so engrossed in the numbers and statistics of people who are addicted to the forum. Many addicts also prefer to keep that information to themselves.

Finally we have seen the Atalanta that made a name for itself in recent years with fierce and attacking football. Salernitana is not the best team in this competition, but 8-2 is a very high result and can also give the team from Atalanta some confidence. I hope they can find the connection with the top again and possibly participate before the CL places. They have shown that they can also play very well with this team at that level. The great thing is that they never really get top players at this club. Napoli 9 points ahead of AC Milan. Could the championship already be largely won?

Real Madrid - Barcelona is still 0-0 for the super cup. I find it strange that two semi-finals are played in it. You always just have the winner of the cup against the winner of the national champion, don't you? I don't know who came up with this curious construction. It's extra matches for nothing. I don't know how much the teams value this, I think Barcelona values it more than Real Madrid, because Xavi wants to win as many trophies as possible and Real Madrid has already won a lot in recent years. Especially internationally. As I write this, Gavi has put Barcelona 0-1.

Looks like an easy Arsenal win. Few teams succeed in winning at Tottenham Hotspur. Arsenal hardly drops any stitches and is the team to beat. It seems very likely that she is now the title contender for this season, although I have to be careful with my statements as we are only halfway through the season. What is certain is that Chelsea and Liverpool will not become champions this season. Those 2 teams still have a lot to adjust in the near future. I also have my doubts about the trainers of both teams at the moment. Klopp is a great coach, but it doesn't work at Liverpool anymore. Sometimes you do. Any other manager would have been fired from Liverpool after this result. Newcastle as very lucky that their opponent missed a penalty.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 14, 2023, 05:43:54 PM
Real Sociedad doesn't have a bad team at all. Are in third place and they are not just there. Places 1 and 2 are normally unattainable, but that team also has a completely different goal than becoming champion. Finishing 3rd would be a very nice result. Osasuna and Mallorca are currently in 9th and 10th place in the ranking, so they are not yet under any pressure for relegation. Wondering if Sevilla can pick up more points in the coming matches. They won't make it to European football anymore. Sevilla must ensure that they are safe in the competition and do not relegate, and then aim the other arrows at the EL in which they are also active.

3-0 defeat for Liverpool. Where is this team going? It is also not that they had an away game at Manchester City, then 3-0 could still be a normal result. Losing so much at Brighton gives serious reason to take measures. Klopp is a good coach, has built up a lot of credit but the chemistry doesn't seem to work anymore within this team. I think it's time for fresh new forces and some changes need to be made within this team. If Klopp is smart, he will hand in his resignation himself and start the adventure at another club. He has also been a coach at Liverpool for more than 7 years now. It is also possible that they have not been able to properly absorb the loss of Mane and that they have underestimated it.

Bruges is one of the weakest remaining teams in the CL. But they did become group winners. Their group was also not very strong, it must be said. This round could be the final destination, but they certainly don't stand a chance. Real Madrid seem to have more and more chance to continue easily against Liverpool. That team is really doing very poorly and the CL matches that start in a few weeks already. Liverpool were seen as one of the big favorites at the start of the season, but at the moment they don't stand a chance. And last year they were also losing finalists. This could prove to be a dramatic year for Liverpool in all competitions and also remain without trophies.

Today the first round of the heavily occupied tournament in Wijk Aan Zee started. Carlsen - Aronian has now ended in a fairly boring draw. But we often see such results in these tournaments, and we will see a lot of draws in this round. There are not that many boards in the strongest group where a color is much better. Carlsen has already said he will not make any statements in relation to accusing Hans Niemann of cheating. Who is not present at this tournament. Maybe for the best, I think Carlsen wouldn't play otherwise and probably other players wouldn't either. The Niemann case is far from over and will continue. He also filed a $100 million claim.

Lots of goals so far in Serie A today. AC Milan and Inter do not have heavy opponents on paper today, but Inter did not have that last week when it drew against Monza. They won today in a crazy game 2-3. Sampdoria is still not out of the relegation worries and is now even in penultimate place. I cannot remember in the history of club football that Sampdoria has had such a bad year. And to think that in the late 80s and early 90s was one of the strongest teams in Italy. Perhaps of the world next to AC Milan.

Great performance from Manchester United. And the difference with City after this game is also only 1 point. Perhaps United is still secretly the 3rd title candidate. If you can beat City, you can beat anyone. Still, United were far from looking likely to win as City were 0-1 up after 70 minutes. I had little hope for United at the time, but they have shown that they are in good shape. Would this be to the coach's credit? He is now working on an impressive rice. He also has several records now to his credit. Arsenal could be the big winner of this round if they win their match. Then the lead on City is increased by 3 points again.

Emotional to see how Djokovic has been received by the public in Australia. He received a standing and big ovation for his return. You can ask yourself whether he deserves that, but people are there as tennis enthusiasts. He played a practice match against Kyrgios. Nice to see that 2 children were also allowed to participate in a double game competition. Kyrgios - Djkovic could also just be another match at the tournament. The public is of course completely behind Kyrgios because he is playing this tournament in his home country. Djokovic is the big favorite here. Alcaraz will not participate.

Barcelona apparently does not want to let Depay leave for Atletico Madrid. Just wondering why not? Atletico is certainly no longer a title contender. So there will be no rivalry in that regard. Depay is always on the bench at Barcelona with something like 4 or 5 strikers in front of him who are preferred. Why would they want to keep him on the bench any longer? And I think that Depay himself also wants to play football sometime. He was very bad at the last World Cup, because he managed to make few playing minutes at Barcelona. The transfer around Weghorst seems to be complete with United. Just a medical checkup.

Currently the game between Aston Villa and Leeds United. Already after 3 minutes the home team managed to find the net. No goals scored since then. It is a match between two mediocre mid-engines. I don't expect much spectacle in this match. It has already been written about Felix that this is one of the worst debuts in the EPL. Receiving a red card in your first game for your team, that will be remembered for a long time. You hardly see that. And Felix is not an aggressive player in itself, which is why it surprises me all the more. Now he has a bit more room to get used to the games, as he will now be suspended for a few games.

It is remarkable that Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig played against each other in a friendly today. By this I mean the fact that they will also face each other again at the end of the month before the competition. Today was just an exhibition game, with no less than 8 goals and a final score of 4-4. RB Leipzig led me t1-3, but how seriously can we take the results of friendly matches? I don't have the lineup at hand, but I don't think Bayern Munich played with the strongest lineup today.

A great start to the game for Napoli. Via Oshamendi they took a 1-0 lead after fifteen minutes of play. The scenario will have gone through the minds of the Napoli players that they absolutely want to win this game, otherwise Juventus will come very close. There is still a lot of time to play, literally anything can happen. Napoli has the home advantage and a head start, but Juventus are a better team in terms of content and have not just won 8 games in a row. Will there be a 9th after that? It could be. An equalizer at half-time would help Juventus immensely to keep the chances in this match for a win.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 12, 2023, 11:51:53 PM
Barcelona eventually won after penalties. They have also not had much luck in regular time and saw a goal disallowed 2 times. It could have gone either way in extra time. Xavi will be very happy that he won at least 1 prize this season, and there are still plenty of opportunities in the cup and in the league. But such a match is stressful for the players because they just have to be back on the field during the weekend. And at this stage you cannot play with many reserves, because the title fight is in full swing between Barcelona and Madrid.

Djokovic will certainly make an attempt to break the record. But the years are also starting to count for him and you can't play 20 tournaments a year. The competition is also big. In the days when Connors won all the tournaments, the tournament was much lower. Many people see Federer as the best player of all time, but Connors holds the record firmly. I don't know who the best female player of all time was. In the 90s that was undoubtedly the German Steffi grave. In the men's tennis in the 90s, the Americans Sampras and Agassi dominated. But I don't see it in the list either. I expect that Jack Sinner will also win the necessary tournaments. That is one of the most promising talents out there right now.

Almost all top teams have lost points. Of the top 4, only Twente managed to win their match. The fact that Feyenoord could not win against Utrecht can still happen, but Ajax should have won against NEC and especially PSV at home against Sparta should not be a problem. Twente might be a serious title contender. Next weekend we have the Ajax-Twente match. Then we can see how good Twente really is. The last time Twente became champion was in the 2009/2010 season. Twente was a relegation candidate a few years ago and always played at the bottom. It's nice that they were able to turn it around like that. PSV misses Gakpo who went to Liverpool. Perhaps Twente and Feyenoord are playing the best of all teams at the moment.

It's not Atalanta's season. That was already clear, a place in the sub-top seems the most realistic at the moment. Given the roster and players they have, that would also be a normal starting position. Today they play against Bologna and unfortunately they are 1-0 down half way through the first half. Atalanta have had some great years of success, but the magic seems to have faded a bit from this side. In the time of Corona you could still have an excuse, but not now. Verona won the relegation cracker against Cremonese and has therefore moved from last place. the numbers 18,19 and 20 are all 3 still in the battle for relegation. A big club like Samppdoria should never get into relegation problems. The truth is that they are (temporarily) now.

Wout Weghorst on his way to Manchester United. Still a very striking transfer. A player who only managed to score 2 goals as a striker at Burnley. And who should make it at United? Seems pretty impossible to me. He did well in Turkey, but that is not really an indicator of his level. English competition is a lot higher level. United probably get him to force something in the last 10 minutes of the game. I also still do not understand why Bayern Munich has picked up Daly Blind. Transfer-free, but has been playing with a pacemaker for a few years (or an advanced variant thereof). Not all competitions accept that device.
