I did a complete rebuild of all dependencies and toolchain.
If you guys can check 1.1.0.16 and let me know if you have any issues.
If you do, let me know what OS you're running...and of course what your problem is.

Hey Joffmac, Just reading through all of your posts.  It seems you have never had any version work for you?

Can you send a screenshot of transaction conflicted?
I haven't seen this error yet.

Also please provide which operating system you are running.
I believe I remember seeing you mentioned your computer would shut down when loading wallet.  I've never heard of that before.
So, as well please provide the specs on you computer.

As well, how long ago did you send to cryptsy?
Please post your Silk address, so I can send a tester and see what comes up on my end.

This is probably totally a long shot, but could it be possible that with my upgrade to Windows 64, C++ didn't get adequately updated?  I think my IT guy put on 2005 and 2010 or something like that.  What are the requirements for the qt software, and how to I ensure I have the right version(s)?

Yes it quite possible you are missing an update on your windows.  The installer seems to have a bitch dll somewhere that caused problems for a few users between win 7 and 8.  Try the new beta from Bishop and see if it fixes the problem.  If it doesn't, please pm and we can do a screen join to fix the issue.   Your case does seem to be isolated, but it is good to get to the root of the problem.
Mac, Linux, Win7 and most Win8 users aren't experiencing any problems.

I've forwarded your tech issue to the coders as well.  Let me know how the new Beta works.  Smiley

I couldn't figure out how to imbed an image on this thread.  I wrote up verbatim what the error messages said above.  I could email the images to someone though.
I'm using Silkcoin version v1.1.0.12-g32a928e

Thanks

In order to post images on bct, you'll need to start an account here.  http://imgur.com/

Upload your images into your new account and then copy the BBCode link provided.  Place in forum or PMs and SNAP! people are seeing your pics.  Wink

Well, I got the wallet running again and it functions exactly like it did.  I get the weird warning when I open the wallet, and it crashes when I try to send.  Is anyone else having this problem and/or know how to fix it?
 Undecided

Thanks again in advance

It seems we have run into issues with the installer version that was previously released for windows 8.

If you have run the installer version of 1.1.0.12 -

backup your wallet.dat file

please click on your start menu - Programs - The Silkcoin Team - Uninstall.

enter into  computer - c:/programfiles(x86) - and ensure silkcoin folder has been removed by uninstaller.

enter into your hidden %appdata%/roaming/silkcoin

delete everything but your wallet.dat

restart computer - this is required for full uninstall

download the win32 1.1.0.12 .zip and blockchain download. https://github.com/silkcointemple/silkcoin/releases/tag/v1.1.0.12

unzip blockchain download, and place all contents in %appdata%/roaming/silkcoin

your appdata folder should now have the following files and folders

textleveldb (folder)
db.log
blk0001.dat
.lock
wallet.dat

if this is correct,

Run the 1.1.0.12 .exe file you have extracted from the 1.1.0.12 .zip file.
this should remedy the errors.

Unfortunately there seems to be some error between Win 7 and Win 8 regarding the installer.
We will be releasing the next version within the next day or two.

I apologize for Winblows.  )-:

Actually, over 100K has been sold in the last couple hours. Sell walls have appeared, looks like someone trying to push the price down to buy cheap.

I don't think the market is going to respond until we change the ticker to SILK. This will show everybody (the other traders who don't read this thread) that change has occurred.
t
The ticker change will happen once we finish with the new apis and add poloniex.
There was realized an issue regarding ticker changes and pub api data changes.
We are restructuring client to avoid any future issues.

As far as dumping is concerned. We will likely see a lot of it as surely old bagholders confidence is not fully restored from previous fiasco.

Which is good.  Already our distribution is looking very good.  Any dumping will add to more equal distribution.

Hopefully price rises slow and steady as it has been, and continues to be distributed evenly.

Building a temple quickly and inefficiently based on cost alone, will surely fail.

All our distribution will support the network, and aid in a harmonious balance for the future.

I will post when new client is ready. Wink

The bot on Cryptsy is really pussing me off.  That's just unethical manipulation.  If there were a large gap between the 2k+ buy and the 2k+ sell, I'd drain its funds.  I've got my eye on you Mr. Bot.  Angry

Lol the bot is getting you back!

BOTWAR!
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][FULLPOS][NEWDEVTEAM][NEWCLIENT] on: August 01, 2014, 10:50:26 AM
is anyone working on  Anonymity as i think this would have a great positive affect on the price?

Marketing anonymity kinda seems redundant doesn't it?

Sure we could catch the price wave.. and join in the flock to the top, and then the crash back as the next flavor of the week does it too..

Lets say for argument stake it was just built in.. And we don't really talk about that.  Probably a better way then, "Hey look at me! I'm anonymous!"

That's like saying,

We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us; At a Wal-mart near you!  LOL

A true anonymous coin (which doesn't actually exist) wouldn't talk about such things.  (-;

Silent integration would be the best option.

That's just my two cents. Cool
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][FULLPOS][NEWDEVTEAM][NEWCLIENT] on: August 01, 2014, 10:38:38 AM

Btw Silkcoin with 2 phases and rebuilding definitively has the best money distribution ever, we should point that out. It was the first 2 phases coin and now with rebuilding and full POS who can beat us in distribution Wink.

And guys stop talking about the rebuilding and the old devs, new members don't want to know, only thing they want to know is We are Silkcoin, we build the future.

Same thing in the title of the thread, let go the [NEWDEVTEAM] and put something more attractive. Even if you don't want hype you need a minimum, and all members here that are as commited as me should post in this thread everyday (I will try from now on Smiley), BTCtalk is our primary source of costumers we need the thread up and active.

I do agree with you, perhaps we can drop "newdevteam" with "global devs" or "community maintained"

Ive been working on the coin heavily the last 2 weeks, as we were doing the new wallet, i will try and post more often here now since im not heads down anymore!

I changed to GlobalDevelopment.   We'll see how that sits with everyone else.  And yes was my previous suggestion and question, when are we done being new devs, and when can we stop telling the sad old story..  So changed that lil bit in the ANN for now.  If this is in disagreement, please let me know, and I can change to whatever suits the comm best.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][FULLPOS][NEWDEVTEAM][NEWCLIENT] on: August 01, 2014, 10:36:03 AM
Yo I've been wanting to help since 2 weeks, just registered where can I get an invite to participate somewhere Smiley?

From what I saw Silkcoin is pretty democratic, I like it  Roll Eyes, I've got dev skills (limited and never coded a coin, but I think I can manage to help a bit) and marketing & seo skills (this is my best asset, a lot of work on ecommerce)

I've been investing since 2 month always buying a lot around 500 believing in the why, believing in Silkcoin's ideas (the best part is I started buying at 2k just before the crash haha but I still have confidence, we have one of the best products).
So I'm pretty commited here, won't tell how much I have (quite a bit) but I want to help in any possible way, Silk can still go to the moon we have the best wallet on the market and ideas that surpasses everything. Also is Anon planned? It should not be too hard to integrate and would boost our reputation.

I'm amazed looking at this community

Dr Hoot
HRegar@hotmail.com

Ps : It's crazy how everyday there's more and more people building silkcoin, I still love this community more than any other

Hey Dr. Hoot! Sent you an invite to hangouts.  Welcome!

Open source, community directed, decentralized development.
This is the dream for Silkcoin.
Lets build it together.

  Everyone.  Watch this video.

Silkcoin, redefining digital intelligence

Exactly.

If we work together we can achieve much more.

Open source, community directed, decentralized development.
This is the dream for Silkcoin.
Lets build it together.

TLDR:
Go read it, this is important!
If you really won’t, here is the gist of it:
The community is raising the orphan that is Silkcoin.
We want it to grow into an independent coin that will never be reliant on one or two developers again. We have a plan for making this happen.
If you believe cryptocurrencies can change the world, please join us.
If you are a coder and want a coin that will forever be developed by an inclusive community, come work with us and help us build it.

I went looking for a way of illustrating the message I am trying to convey and found this video:
http://www.ted.com/talks/heather_barnett_what_humans_can_learn_from_semi_intelligent_slime_1

It was quite a surprise to come across this video that so beautifully illustrates the idea and I am excited to share it:
All we need to do is build the foundation.

  Everyone.  Watch this video.
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][FULLPOS][NEWDEVTEAM][NEWCLIENT] on: July 31, 2014, 11:10:57 PM
Is anyone in contact or can get in contact with the exchanges?  I know the original DEVs did something with poloniex for a contest for a Oculus Rift give-a-way.  I don't want to do the exact same thing, but I want to offer a similar contest too.  Maybe winner gets something like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh7JyowQ3k0

Ideas?  Suggestions?

I'll donate the funds to get it for the good of the community!

Yep i hear they do contests lots.  Ill pitch too.   Just wait a smidge until voting comes out in wallet.  Basically done and in testing.  Perhaps make.the contest something to do with the first vote..  and well..  what do we want the first vote to be about?
Main thing is the system of payment to development.  And deciding how developers get paid.  Folks need to be elected to signoff on multisig for payments, and different development escrows.
So would likely need graphics, core development - web development - 3rd party development, mobile development, and perhaps 2 to sign for each?

Or have one single escrow, that payments can only be made by winning vote.  Could do short 6 hout votes for this kind of thing.

Then move into 2 signee per department payment system? This needs to be decided.

Not sure if anyone watched jacquls video, and really studied what he said and why he is excited..
This process has to be something that can become autonomous, and give function to continuous honest development with no end.
A cellular network, with no brain, no nervous system, no central conciousness; As a collection, organization and amoebic network of cells which we all are - to exhibit anticipation, judgement, intelligence, coherent function, and collective conciousness inside of a computer program we all built.

What we build here, will keep building itself.  We will be the programmers and caretakers, obeying the program we build together.

Others say revolution.. This is revolution, not of war, but a revolution of conciousness integrating into technology.

Lets make some deadly contests... we'll rain Silk like Revolution.   Cool

You mean BHolzer? After his impressive come together speech........nothing. Haven't heard from him since.

Please see my question here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=436190.700

I asked completly the same. I am not satisfied with the answer. For me Bholzers trust is gone forever. But yeah Crypto World and Trust...

Check out my new project: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=714803.msg8100728#msg8100728

Everyone is free to participate. Why Cloak? Its a rising coin with a rising community. So a lot of Exposure for the project. If you read the thread there is a lot of positive stuff but I also report about the SCAM accusations of Cloak, so everyone can build his own mind about the Coin. I try to be neutral, not always 99% possible.

Regarding Cloak, and all the other exchanges that are popping up, it would be my hope that all p2p exchanges can function together on some unified platform.  By the end of the year, surely every coin will have its own exchange, and it would be good to have access to all exchanges and payment systems on one platform.

Cloak is shining in development.  As far as scams go, I have not read.  Focused too much on Silk.   Wink  Please try and keep the thread relevant to Silk, it is moderated, although I have not deleted any posts and do not intend to.  Lets keep it Silky in here.  Cool

Any chance for Windows wallet in .zip format, without installer?

I will attach one to Git for download as soon as we have time.  Released the installer in expectations of many new users, and wanted to make the process as simple as possible for users that perhaps have not used cryptos before.  Want to make Silk easy enough for Grandma to use. (-:

Yes I've seen this post.  It is the type of post that shows the character of silkcoin.  You are being very objective and respectful.  Much appreciated.  I believe that the issue with bholzer is closed.  And we can all move on.  Er have moved on.  like way far moved on.  haha

Good morning - I downloaded the most recent wallet (v. 1.1.0.12-g32a928e) yesterday afternoon
and it has been saying it is syncing ever since. I have no way of knowing what block its own or
what the progress is. Please help!

BTW I'm on Windows 8.

There's a couple ways to view the block chain status.  Yes there should be a status bar, but experiencing glitches on some machines.  If you hover your mouse just below network connections, you'll see a tooltip with status.

Also if you go to statistics, and click update statistics, it will show your block height there.

We should have status bar patched for next release.

As far as the 60k issue, we are working on it. Previously devs made a mess of the fork there when they killed the POW early and doubled their premine before they dumped it all. lol (sorry not actually funny)  There can be sticks at 60, 60.5, 61, and 61k.  If you experience these sticks, you may have to restart the client a couple times.  But generally patience will see it through.  And yes can take 8 hours or so to fully sync.

There is also a blockchain download attached to the Git, for those of you who do not want to wait.  Believe it starts at around 90k.
