1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SC] SilkCoin - Takeover and Rebuilding Discussion/Proposal on: June 27, 2014, 05:30:21 PM
My SC wallet still works. It never crashed. I was able to mine few more last night.

What worries me, if Dev left SC project then who is managing SC client (Host and DB) and who is looking after blockchain?

Bholzer is presently working on this with his kind heart and from what the BTT community says, exceptional coding skills.
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SC] SilkCoin - Takeover and Rebuilding Discussion/Proposal on: June 27, 2014, 05:29:13 PM
Just wanted to summarize all the positive support and potential team members for this project!  All the following were quoted from this thread:

nzminer - Im all in to help in whatever way possible.  I have a client of mine who does web hosting if the devs dont hand over the domains etc.

vcoinminer0938 - I can help on web develop, promote if need.

FredDag - I am happy to contribute what I can to make this rebuild a success.

Yoshinori - If anything i 'm in, i have quite the marketing and funding proposals for this coin to start scaling.

ethereal73 - Good to see this, if you need help PM, for now its your turn.

h0lybyte - I am down to help with any programming. I can help with any code maintaining as well as setting up things like multiple nodes, faucets, dicing and other similar matters.

remistevens - When things are getting closer, I can create a promo video for the re-launch/branding.

BrianJaye - I'm willing to commit sometime and BTC to working in the project.

Rav3n85 - I will continue with the promoting @ https://twitter.com/NetworkSilk

judgecrypto - I will help advise.  I just sent you .5 BTC.  You stepped up big time for a community I care about.  Even if it doesn't work out please keep it as a token of universal rightness.

Grifftech2k4 - Thank you so much, I am completely behind this and will help fund as much as possible!

Dimitry - I'm willing to send 1000sc for reviving the coin.

ifxist - I am definitely willing to donate 1 BTC to bholzer and this project.

WhiteNotWright - I will be gathering additional support for investment.

hamzatu - I am in on the crowd funding initiative.

Bitcoinasourus - I will be more than happy to offer some funding for this. When do we get a donation address?

Kaliber1 - I already have all the investors.

hiddensphinx - i will pledge BTC myself!!!

Crypt0Keeper - I'm in for 1% of what I have (as long as it's not staking, haha).

flipboxx - I'm absolutely ready to spare some SC to support the dev.

psychocoin - I'll also donate 1k SC as soon as development fund opens.

tequillaquagga - I will give 2k of Silks for rebuild.

Mr.Joker - Will contribute with 10K Silk

bholzer please setup a escrow at a location we can donate to.  If you wait too long, alot of these volunteers and donations will dry up and people moved to another coin.

I can also write professional plans, procedures, specifications, other documents, and articles. I have years of experience in software test and QA. And, I am a published author of two books. I won't accept any payment. This will be my contribution not including my donation.

Once the coin is revived we can think about publishing a Use-Case. So that there is no ambiguity about the role, function, and place of Silkcoin.

1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SC] SilkCoin - Takeover and Rebuilding Discussion/Proposal on: June 27, 2014, 01:55:24 AM
I was in the other forum.   Panic started because everyone said premine was dumped.  The premine addresses posted were not the ones on the richlist.  Entire premine was moved into mintpal and dumped.
This is what everyone said.  Fear uncertainty and doubt is not necessarily lies, it is speculation.  As once again.  This is.
In a moderated thread no doubt.   Premine was dumped.  Premine wasnt dumped.  Thanks for saving the coin.  No fuck you, we dont care if ur saving the coin...  make up your minds and quit spreading fud based on speculation while the community is rounding support up to heal silk coin.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SC] SilkCoin - Takeover and Rebuilding Discussion/Proposal on: June 27, 2014, 01:36:47 AM
From what i understand from reading everything here, bholzer is basically acting as an interim dev.
He will keep it going until the time that a new dev team comes on board.
I can expect that this could take some time.

Hmm, then we have there our little hickup for good progress in the coin. Other problem i have is this. The original devs perhaps have millions of coins. Now the community is going to invest in the development en with great luck and superior coding maybe we get lucky and the coin starts up again gaining trust and investors. The value is rising, and who get's all the money? The original devs. And to be honest....that sucks!

Think there are a lot of problems we are going to face to build this coin back up. There has to be some kind of meeting of people who are trying to build this all up and ask our self...how much is it worth to bring SC back up? Is it not better to pick a different name, but with the same ideas the original dev(s) had and start all over?

Yes, i know that this means that the original coins are worthless then. But please, do we really want to invest a lot of money, time and effort just to make the original devs rich? I mean, with every 1mil coins with a price of $0.05 makes $50.000, just for doing nothing. If everyone answers my question with a yes, then we have a strong based community and then we can work this out together. But the problem remains that we do not have a steady dev team already, is a little fucked up, if i may say so.

It's a discussion question, not a fud one.

I thought the whole reason this coin crashed is because the premine was moved and dumped.  Ya lost me.

I see nothing wrong with murray holding a pocket full of silk... haha
Probably is some truth to that from time to time lol

Guys, don't panic we may still have a chance.

A lot of people are still ready to support silkcoin including me. And look at the plan, it's the best in all crypto and we can do it with proper devs!

Saw that posted on the Peerpay thread.  Maybe those guys can help silkcoin out.  I am not affiliated in any way to raxe.io . Seems like he needed some devs and I just remember reading these guys, I do not know how good they are.

Distrocoin flopped and I don't know if their own coin has even been revived.  Were begging the community for help with fixes to the code.  In this case I'm not even sure if the sc code is broken??

Does my name need to be added to a list of somekind? Or is that already done through my nxt wallet via the AE?
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 06:21:41 AM
Hello everyone.

Judgecrypto gave out lots of SC in amount varying from 10-100SC in his chatroom.
He has been a strong supporter and been advertising SC from early.
If he is now concerned and believes it to be a scam then I can imagine that he feels responsible and hence would carry on posting here.

Megaman is quite different and has been posting negatively since the start.
There was an accusation that SC dev used same voice artist as a previous confirmed scam.
This was disproved by communication with said artist by one of the community members.
Furthermore: it came to light that Megaman was attempting extortion (hence getting the negative trust rating.)
This makes taking anything said by him difficult to interpret.
He is possibly quite vested in the destruction of SC purely because then his threat to a next developer about successful extortion will be more likely to work.
Every "scam" that he calls and coin that then falls whether it was a scam or not, strengthens his extortion power.

Reason for public outcry and concern at the moment is still mostly regarding the premine.
I have had a pm from someone regarding the premine and thought I will share publicly. (sorry for not replying directly)
I really don't care about it. It is only a million SC. The person who pm'd me has more than that.
I suspect Judge had more than that.

The only concerning thing would be that if the dev is planning on selling it, it probably means that they are fed up with trying to develop this particular coin (for whatever reason, maybe disillusionment or perhaps hitting a stumbling block they can not overcome, in code or in life). Regardless of the reason, it will make Megaman's prediction true and realize Judge's fears.

Options are:

1. Dev team consists of 5 people.
User:Silkcoin owns the account and could not post today.
User:Silkcoin-DevM creates an account to explain the movement of the coins and updates us on the expected wallet update and reassures everyone that things are still going as planned.
The white paper has been withdrawn for editing since community felt it is incomplete.
The implications of an ecosystem as described in the white paper might seriously affect dev life if successful.
I would not want them to continue if they are not anonymous.
If you wonder why: please look at what is happening to a guy called Kim Dotcom. Devs will almost certainly be held accountable for anything that their wallet makes possible. Including free trade. If it undermines the dollar, they will be in danger. This is also a reason Satoshi needs to stay anonymous.

In this scenario, I can imagine that the dev team might be less interested in a few people who feel cheated because they invested a few BTC and was hoping for a sure bet on a trip to the moon. If things work as they want it to work we will end up with something quite different.

Pro:
-dev team has delivered an innovative wallet (even Megaman admits that much)
-they have updated it with requests from community and did it quite fast
-this illustrates that dev have capability more than just cut and paste
-they released a white paper containing their future plan, no negative comments on the actual content, possible killer feature
-Silkcoin already an established name and on exchanges
-the price fluctuation might mean newcomers get a chance to adopt the coin and it might break monopoly
-all above reasons to stick with Silkcoin rather than starting a new project

Con:
-team member who posted is not known and only has 1 post, no proof that he/she is actually in dev team
-premine could be consolidated on an exchange
-update is late today

Possible resolution and explanation:
1. Dev team releases wallet update by 8pm GMT as expected. This includes Mac compile and possibly previously advertised feature (game/betting/tradebot) which might be the reason for the delay. White paper is in the process of revision and is released on Friday.
User:Silkcoin posts and validates User:Silkcoin-DevM identity. Some token payout from premine address to reassure community about dev commitment.

2. Dev stays offline, no new updates and premine is sold. <--- worst case scenario!

Either way:

Hammering on about premine won't make any difference.
Priorities for dev team: 1. protect yourself and your identity. 2. develop coin

The community does not matter, it is nice if people feel a sense of optimism and belonging but we don't actually need a community for the coin to succeed (unless by community you mean a % of the population on earth), we need development and innovation. I would prefer if the dev team don't post and just keep coding. Smiley
The good the community can do is to try and distribute the coin. Sometimes that means scaring the whales and people who hold 1mil SC into selling most so others can get in cheaper. (If everyone has 1mil coins then only 45 people will be in the network. That is not good. The only people who should have that much is the dev fund to help grow the coin.)

TLDR:
If User:Silkcoin posts wallet update at 8pm GMT then all is well and people can relax.
All the angst in this thread is unnecessary and won't make any difference to anyone.

Note to Megaman and Judgecrypto:
Please be careful with any advice.
If there is the slightest chance that you are wrong about the future of the coin and someone sold all their SC (even if it was for profit) and it then shoots up to Darkcoin levels, there will be people who are very unhappy and hold you responsible. Sometimes even the best-meant advice can backfire. Nobody can be 100% sure of anything.

Thank you.  My anger wouldn't allow me to be rational. Fed up with the continuing bs in this thread.
I Couldn't have put it better.

man...its kind of embarrassing to be part of this thread. The devs have been on top of their game every day, consistantly working hard, coding, bringing us updates, proving the FUD wrong, answering questions....and 24 hours can't go by without everyone losing their shit turning on each other, name calling and jumping ship? I'd say the devs so far have given us every reason to trust them. Give them the benefit of the doubt, stop quoting and arguing with trolls, drink a beer or 10. Be patient and relax.

If you dont trust the devs, then sell your coins and move on...buy back later if you want. If you do trust them and still have faith then quit being so dramatic, hold your coins and ride the tide. What is so hard about that?

Is it too much to ask the devs prove the premine is not an exchange address since it was moved without notice?

Is it too much to ask for a timeline of the eco system and status updates?  How many eco system devs do they have?  How much are they having to pay the eco system dev?

For the record I only know of one dev and he was not the one to implement the eco system.

Erg... Go to sleep or troll some other thread.

Exactly.  I'm done posting in response.  I'm done with sniveling whiners over minor details, and liars over large ones.  At least I'll try.

Holding.

@judge

If you care so much about me and everyone else and think the Silk ship is going to sink.  Please send us all BTC.  Or whatever other coin you feel is more innovative and will do better then Silk.  I would gladly accept a buyout for your empathy.

Otherwise I do not see the point of you posting blatent fud.

Yep they consolidated the premine. Who cares.  I think it should be on the exchange to help control all the shit guys like you post.

Most companies own 51 percent and leave the rest to public... these guys own 4.5.   Leave it alone.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 05:46:38 AM
@judgecrypto

You seem very flaky. You sold all your SilkCoin because software release was a day late? In the software industry a month is nothing. Because the devs want to be anonymous after someone tried to extort them and introducing a market which would have a shit storm of legal ramifications only lawyers will understand? Because they moved the premine? You think they moved the premine to sell at these shit prices?

I don't want to sound rude. I liked your posts. I just can't understand how you're so easily shaken. Then again a lot of people are. Guess it's mob mentality or something.

If you have followed the forums I have supported the team.  I argued for the premine and even for a fund so when the premine gets exhausted they can use that.  None of the premine stuff was communicated internally on the dev site or I wouldn't have come here.  In fact the dev had not made a post for days which was weird since a new wallet was about to be released.

Then I spend half my night defending the premine in the forum and they move it without so much as a peep.  So yeah I am kinda pissed.  I took a lot of beating typed my ass of defending them.  Not ONE word in the dev portal about moving the premine.  People were up in arms over it.  Then you move it without telling anyone?  Yeah way to make your biggest supporter look like an idiot.

I supported these guys with everything I have.

Right on.  I was also here near the start of the forums and watched you flip on a dime.  So if you're out your out.
Spare us your empathy and quit posting speculative bullshit.  Because lets be honest.  You obviously don't give a flying fuck about anyone who is still invested in this.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 05:41:23 AM
Judge is megaman.  It took exactly the time to write the message from megaman from the time I called out Judge that he was megaman.  Shoulda waited twenty minutes.

Judgecrypto was a huge supporter of this coin, sadly I believe he's just disillusioned by it for now.  Hopefully the coin will redeem itself and he'll come back.

Yeh he was... then turned on it right when megaman seemed to be nonexistant. And continued ragging on it after he publicly sold his coins.. with a strange link to a mintpal transaction that showed mintpal was experiencing errors on withdrawls.. Then I call him out and poof! Here comes megaman to support that judge isnt him..  Quite amazing.

Arteleis, I don't need to defend myself to you.  I probably have given away more silk coin than you even own. I put a lot of time into this project... A LOT... so you can shove your attitude up your ass.

By the way, you're wallet shows that you never gave away any silk.  Suppose you have a few of them then?  Please post all your wallet addresses for everyone to see.  And while you're at it please provide all your detailed personal information so we can all verify who you are.

Anyone here get Silk from me?

Quit fucking around and prove it.  Show the wallet where the silk went to other people.

How's it feel?  PROVE YOURSELF BITCH!

Yes, he actually did send some to me from his chat room giveaway. I'd say about ~1500 total.

Right on.  From which wallet? Cuz it doesn't show on the wallet he posted.  My point is, that this guy turns on the team after he dumps a bunch of coins.. Doesn't believe the post one of the silk coin devs left as an explanation and then continues bashing the coin.. Demanding! Identity, proof etc etc - but of course laughs and misdirects when he is asking the same thing.  There is no proof of this claim. Who cares if he gave silk away anyways.  Proves absolutely nothing.
