Thanks for getting me the T1 so quickly so I could get the word out about them.
It is a nice running miner.

Dear All,

Thanks for all your words to ROCKMINER about T1.
1. We said that T1 is based on the solution by FC in lots of days ago, that's why someone doubt its not our product.
2. For the interview by ManeBjorn, its just the prototype one without cage.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner: Any Miner, Any Where, on Any Device (Free, Open Source, Cross Platform) on: August 27, 2014, 06:01:51 AM
I will get an issue created on GitHub.
Thanks again for the help I will dig into the xml.  Smiley

All three systems have the default names that MM gave them.  I used to name them and that worked great until a few versions ago when I mentioned it first happened.

One of them has a type-o though (192.186.1.76)...software wouldn't do that (unless the actual device had a type-o'd IP at one point). There were older versions of MultiMiner that didn't submit the port to MobileMiner though, so that could be part of the issue. The port is included as the machine / device may have multiple miners running.

I went through and did fresh installs of all three windows machines and MM. This is what I get now.

Reinstalling MultiMiner doesn't remove any of your settings - any names for devices would persist. To get rid of the names you'd need to delete the DeviceMetadata.xml file.

Also any idea why it detects the BTC Gardens but says they are idle when they are not?

Nope - when you get time please create an issue for this on http://issues.multiminerapp.com and I can troubleshoot further.

It shows my one of my S3s 3 times. It sees my BTC Garden miners but shows them online but not running.
I don't mind that so much as the tripling of my S3 is a pain in the butt.
Thanks for all the updates lately I appreciate them.

My guess is that you are running MultiMiner on 3 (or more) PCs and you have different names for your S3 on each (note one has the port and another has a type-o). That is causing the "duplicates". There is no way for MobileMiner to know the machine has already been submitted / created as the names do not match.

Some options are to:

  • Don't rename your Network Devices
  • Or make sure you rename your Network Devices to all match on each instance / PC running MultiMiner
  • Or go into Settings > Advanced application settings and disable Network Device detection on all but one PC

I had some crashes on one of my systems like that as well after the last update.  It is working ok now though.

I did finally get a chance to take a screenshot of my android app issue.

Was mining all fine and dandy...then had to reboot my PC. Started up my pc again, loaded up multiminer, hit start and...bam! Angry program.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I posted my issue on your site. Any ideas what happened?

Thanks - checking into it now. I'll let you know what I find.

My single ate several PSUs as well.
I got it going again but they are fickle. LOL

FedEx should be delivering a new/used PSU any moment now.  But it won't be until late tonight that I am home and the boys can get that BFL single turned on again.

I look forward to your guides as always Dogie.

Good writeup, but no pictures of the miner as a whole.  Just insides and one profile.  What the heck does the thing look like?

Thats what your community dog is for, pictures will be up tonight or tomorrow.

Two PCIe connectors. You can use 1 connector if you are using a single 1000 watt psu or you can use 2 if you only have two 500 watt psu like me.

Do NOT plug two different PSUs into one board, never ever ever ever do that. Thats how you end up with two dead PSUs and a dead hashing board.

I will ask again are you going to submit a comment to the NYDFS about how it could adversely affect your business and in which ways?
This is the kind of thing they need to know from someone in your position so that they can make sure it does not adversely damage your business.

Pro-actively blocking a state, and requiring users to affirm they are not from that state should be adequate in preventing the state from trying to establish a nexus when there are clear attempts to prevent that state from accessing it.
Do you anticipate ever having to ask for proof of (non) residence, which in turn requires identification documents?

No, I'd shut down instead.  I have *zero* desire to be responsible for collecting and maintaining personal details on users.
569  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: August 26, 2014, 07:53:13 AM
Sorry I was taking such close pics of it.  Mine does not have the full cage on it so mine as a whole is as you see it.
I will take some more pics in the morning and add them for you here and to the review.
Thanks

My review of the T1 went live this morning.
I really enjoyed working with the miner it works quite well and is a great evolution of the Rockminer series.

Rockminer has been growing fast in the Bitcoin ASIC miner industry and they have recently taken another step forward with their Rockminer T1 miner. This miner starts things off with a new design that steps away from the tube design that many of the Bitcoin ASIC mining manufacturers are starting to use.
The new design allows for stacking and ease of use in that you can easily access cables and connections while maintaining a hot and cold isle in large installations, as well as general simple ease of use in smaller installations. The T1 also has a new controller, instead of a Raspberry Pi, it comes with a BE200 Jet Stratum Miner V 5.47 controller. This new controller can run 3 T1 miners. The specs of the T1 are good as well with Rockminer upping the speed again over the R3-Box.

570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BitCrane T-110 Setup [HD] on: August 26, 2014, 06:14:00 AM
True but I had not dug deeply into the software to see if they made any changes.  It is good to know they did not and it is only the GUI that is all slicked up. LOL

Hi,
I recently interviewed the CEO of BitCrane and he said it is available on GitHub.  I am going to make sure he doesn't just mean that cgminer is available but their port of it.
I have started asking this of companies that I interview now.  I feel there needs to be more awareness of it as you do.
The interview will go live later this week or next week once I get a few more questions answered and verify info.
Thanks again for you hard work.

I don't supposed you've seen source code for the (cgminer GPL3 based) driver for this hardware?

They've not forked anything, they're using the original HashFast code and so don't need to repost.

572  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 25, 2014, 09:33:38 PM
Yes they came with it.

Could someone help me with selecting appropriate mounting ears, please?
Some ebay or amazon link please?

Also, as we know the units are stackable and have great airflow but I am still a bit a concerned about extra heat coming up from the unit below to the unit stack on top of it. Do you know how good the heat insulation is?
If the top surface gets too hot I could try to mount them in such way that there would be a bit af space between the units so they are not directly stack ip on each other.

if I am not mistaken, according to the manual the sp30 bring mounting ears.

It is written in the description "2 U rack mountable (mounting ears required)"

Could someone who already got an SP30 please mention if you received mounting ears?

574  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: August 24, 2014, 11:08:27 PM
I dont want a 1000 addresses for payouts.
It can be good for those that do but I do not.
I have my addresses set to I can keep track of the mining revenue and not have to slog through so many.
A good idea it is just as long as it is not mandatory.

The following will be posted on the Eligius, BTCGuild and P2pool threads.

How willing are the pool operators to implement this? Is it hard? Any downsides? Please discuss

My position is that every periodic payment should be done using deterministic key pair generation.  Of course this includes all mining payouts.  The way this would work is that instead of generating a normal private/public key pair and giving the Bitcoin address of the public key to your mining pool for payout you would generate an extended private/public key pair and give the extended public key to the mining pool.

An extended public key contains within it the first public key and information on how to generate an entire sequence of public keys that correspond to the same key pair sequence that is generated by the extended private key.  So the mining pool would send your first payment to the first public key, your second payment to your second public key, your third payment to your third public key, etc.

Meanwhile your client can generate the first private key that corresponds to the first public key, the second private key that corresponds to the second public key, etc. so you can claim/spend the BTC when you are ready.

This way every single periodic payment can be sent to a unique public address.  Cool, right?

However, I do not know of a single pool that supports this payment mechanism.  I do not keep up with all the various mining pools having given up mining at the end of the GPU mining era myself.  So, if there is a pool that supports this please let me know.

All miners should demand this from every pool they use and only use pools that support this mechanism.

HI Alex and Rockminer,
The T1 is running great my review is scheduled to go up tomorrow.
Great work guys and excellent customer service.  The Controller while working well is touchy.
Alex jumped right on skype and all was set.
576  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BTCGarden AM V1 Setup [HD] on: August 22, 2014, 11:05:19 PM
I do have good news that you can still stack the two board type miners.
No issues other than the V1 is wider than the V1-X2 which uses a shorter board.

OKay okay. I have also one AM-V1 with green board and another with black board.
A new version is an evolution a change in the spécifications I mean.

I said that to avoid confusion when BTCgarden speaks  about the next miner, he is not speaking about the case with 4 boards he is talking about the next board.

I am going to take a couple screen shots tomorrow of the odd networked miner reporting in the Android app and upload it for you.

Thanks Nate.
I have all of my hash rate back on X11.
I am trying to figure out what to send you on GitHub to show my multiple reporting of networked miners and odd naming issue.  There is no error msg other than the other results.

Screenshots, descriptions, screen captures (if that makes sense for the issue), really whatever it takes to describe the issue you are experiencing. I like Jing for free screen capture and sharing.

NY has exempted mining in the draft.
They are also extending the comment period and getting ready to modify the proposal.

You did read my last post about caring less about juan if he's not going to respond in a speedy way. Get your bank in on it and get your money back.

I got more problems myself. NY is somehow trying ban or restrict mining here so I don't know if I can buy equipment at this time.
580  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: August 22, 2014, 02:34:19 AM
That would suck I am from NY and really do not want to lose access to the best pool.
I hope they get it figured out.
My question to you is will you file a comment during the commenting period outlining your concerns so that it can be clearly written in relation to this?

It is looking more like you would not have to even worry about that as they do not intend to encompass mining pools and services.

They will never provide an exact definition of "financial services".  I would say a pool probably is a financial service, though it certainly isn't the kind they're targeting.  All we can do is wait to see what the next form of BitLicense looks like and then adjust as necessary.
