563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoNight hashrates on: August 08, 2014, 12:17:34 PM
Those GPU hashes are ridiculous. I'm going in circles in trying to understand what CryptoNight really is (all I see is statements) but there's very little info, I think I might just hit the code in the future.

well technicially there is cryptonote and cryptonight similar but different you could say. BBR use's cryptonight aka wild keeack where XMR is pure cryptonote.

alright that now allows me to run 2 instances, 1 per card.

is there a link to wolf0's ccminer thats complied?

and can both instances read the same scratch pad in the locals folder?

No compiled version for windows yet. the readme states:

Quote
Downloads
None yet, but check back

So you have options 1) learn to compile 2) patience and wait for someone to share 3) Probably a small donation might result in finding an .exe quickly, if it helps you to earn by mining Smiley

For the both instances question, yes, I presume so.

i will have to wait for wolf0's miner as he has said its very hard to compile for windows.....

iam a tad suprised thou, 4 280x's and 1 6970 and pool barley reports 3.5mhs..... the usage of the gpus does not stay at 100%, seems to bounce around heavily...

and the reported speed is only dropping :-/
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 08, 2014, 09:20:54 AM
I do mine XMR and other CNs, but BBR does have some damn fine features in comparison. If we also can get pool mining without using (terribly slow) simpleminer, that's intresting news to me

...and thats the point... its a little diamond between all the shit coins arround.

@wolf. insane speed. nearly 1mhash on oc cards. loved to solo mine... but that is clearly over.

Not over, as far as I can tell. The pools maybe have a bit of trouble, but I have seen 800+kh/s at the pool with my 750Ti at stock clocks (nsfw as usual): https://ottrbutt.com/tmp/bbrcudaminerpool.png

wolf0 do you have a complied version avalible for download for the BBR miner?

I actually tried pretty hard to compile it for Windows - damn near impossible, and in fact, it is impossible without heavy code edits. The problem is this: Microsoft is fucking retarded and only supports C89, not C99 or C11. This would be fine, if we could use GCC, but Nvidia forces you to use MSVC if you want to use NVCC on Windows...

bloody windows lol :-/

this one is the amd miner and nvidia miner in 1. seems it only use's 1 card thou.

and wolf0's one isnt compliled and i have no clue how to compile.... :-/

Try and post the exact command you are using.

simpleminer --pool-addr bbr.cncoin.farm:1111 --login 1DyzX1ag7bWC7qNgFKNN7MJx9s3DesCsm4c7ouWGPf6AbBG5CdAiCP2XmntB2s6eYxDTNDYQZVacxWw F3K68R16QVaypEbs --pass x --

mining-threads 1 --remote_scratchpad http://38.93.234.101/scratchpad.bin

i have tried changeing threads to 2 but still no luck.

https://github.com/mbkuperman/boolberry-opencl/blob/master/src/miner/simpleminer.cpp#L249-L253

Seems like it is not saving scratchpad properly, Try to run like this.. it should save scratchpad to current working dir, instead of trying and failing on this appdata folder. probably something to do with win8 .maybe easier on linux too ?

Quote
--pool-addr cncoin.farm:1111 --login x --pass x --mining-threads 1 --device 0 --remote_scratchpad http://cncoin.farm/scratchpad.bin --local_scratchpad scratchpad.bin

I think you can ask nicely/wait for someone to compile wolf version if this is not working. Maybe the fix is some obvious thing but sorry I am not a miner or don't use windows

What's the command you run? Anyway just specify path to scratchpad.bin you have write access to (ex. --local_scratchpad scratchpad.bin to store it in the same directory as miner).
can someone plz help, the gpu miner wont work across all my rigs, they all spit the same error.

does the BBR gpu miner support pools yet?

It does.  An AMD and Nvidia version are released open-source. Another wolf gracefully shared his implementation freely. Optional donations and no penalties if you decide not to.

CUDA miner with stratum support - Github link in this post:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=693118.msg8239797#msg8239797

(By comparison AMD XMR miner is closed source and requires mandatory 5% donation of all mined XMR to dev or forced slow-down of performance, cheekily..or smartly the 2nd option results in less XMR mined than you would have by donating)

alright i have the miners, but they are all throwing the same errors, same on my amd rigs and nvidia rigs. all win 8.1 x64.

574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoNight hashrates on: August 07, 2014, 11:38:54 PM
This is the best hardware/config comparison I've come across: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MI-ic0Os25hgGUImW54sUIjZY_pUNQNa_W8Se5pRGBs/edit?pli=1#gid=0
It's for monero specifically, but relevant to all CryptoNight coins. Most modern CPUs get 80-280 H/s depending on cores, AES-NI compatibility, and OS. In my case with an i7-3770 (same machine in both examples), I get 170 H/s on Windows 7 and 265 H/s on Ubuntu 14.04.

wow thats a low hash rate. my i5 3500 series does 233 in win 8, my i7 2600 non k edition does 303 on win 8 and my 4770k does 320h/s on win 8..... you should look into a better miner lol.

also gpu hash rates that i use.

280x hynix memory 531h/s with stable OC
280x elpida memory 405h/s with no OC as its pointless as elpida cards suffer heavily due to crap memory type.
7950 with hynix memory 503h/s with stable OC
6950 modded with 6970 bios does 360h/s with stable OC.

naturally 290-290x cards will do higher as long as you have samsung or hynix memory. avoid elipda cards at all costs as they are pure crap with this algo.

Very interesting, I haven't seen hashrates like that on those CPUs. What miner are you using and/or what's an example config for yours? I know Claymore's miner shows a higher than actual hasrate.

i use Yam miner. posts better hash rates at the pool as well and the donation is alot lower.

577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: DSH Dashcoin trading thread and OTC xchg (bid x ask x last x) on: August 05, 2014, 01:22:33 PM
Well, you claim that Dash is actually much worthier then the current market price (there are several personal trades going on).

If we agree on that point, why would someone care to mine XMR,BCN,XDN..? He would be on a better profit mining Dash, keeping and selling for a much higher price in the future.

damn straight Dsh has better profit's if people actually knew it was worth mineing. which is what a bigger exchange would bring as it would also beable to be listed on coin calculator sites which people spam check sometimes to look for the next best profits.

at 1 sat BTC trade value 5k/s brings approx 30 mill DSH trade value approx 0.299 btc.
at 0.000000001 sat the same listed above specs and daily take is about 0.029 btc which is still far higher then most other coins that iam aware of at this moment.

so yes at this point dash is better to mine as its already more profitable to mine even at the shameful lower prices and lack of tradeing places, not counting alt2bit and forum tradeing.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: DSH Dashcoin trading thread and OTC xchg (bid x ask x last x) on: August 05, 2014, 01:06:59 PM
Just to point some things to people who is selling Dash. Don' sell the coins for this prices who is offered right now. This guys who is buying are traders and for this prices witch is offered right now, it's a classic rip-off. If you are a miner and you mined your coins, calculate how much electricity and time you are spending and you will see that this prices are ridiculous. But this guys are traders and they like to steel from miners. Grin In the moment with no exchange for this coin, price should be between    0.000000003 and 0.000000005. If happens to hit some of the bigger exchange like Polo or Bittrex price will be 0.00000001, because this is the minimum price for coins on the exchange. So do your mathematics and don't be fooled.
By the way i have more coins to sell.
I am selling now 500 mil DSH for 2,5 BTC. Contact PM.

Well, I did that gamble with Ducknote, bought for 0.5 satoshi, sold for much more.
This time I'm not taking a gamble and just profiting for basic mining; as long as someone gives me 20-30% more of mining XMR/BCN, I'm selling because I need to cash.

I don't see anything wrong or anyone getting ripped off to be honest.

Well, i made my point. But how would you call the buy offer of 0.0000000005, or 0.0000000007. This is classic robbery, but if are people enough stupid to sell at this prices, ok. Maybe i make some offer to buy. Grin Smiley Grin

people are to desperate to dump to gain small but pathetic profits. if you could call it profits. bigger more active exchange is needed to bring more people to the game, more tradeing pairs like BTC-LTC-XMR-BC will be a bonus as well.

According to your magnificent logic, noone should be mining Monero but everyone should be mining Dash.

care to share how you came to that conclusion?

people are to desperate to dump to gain small but pathetic profits. if you could call it profits. bigger more active exchange is needed to bring more people to the game, more tradeing pairs like BTC-LTC-XMR-BC will be a bonus as well.

VOTE DHASCOIN ON SWISSCEX!  Wink Kiss

https://www.swisscex.com/voting

OR

Every 0.00005 BTC sent to a vote address listed below will be credited with one vote!

Dash coin don't need SWISSCEX. Before couple of weeks AEON win the voting, and they never listed AEON on their exchange. They say that the cryptonote coins are very difficult to implement in the exchange. So its wasting time or money for voting on SWISSCEX. This coin need Poloniex or Bittrex.

Not sure if Bittrex is the way here. Poloniex seems to be the home for the CryptoNote coins. Smiley

i cant see the problem with bittrex, it seems way more popular then Mintpal these days. and polo is just as good so maybe get listed on both exchanges and get more coverage. how is the dev not looking into doing these things, or are you just happy with dash becomeing stagnent.....
