581  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: December 19, 2014, 06:46:29 PM

About 800$ on January 1st and 340$ now, nothing to worry about! It was about 14$ on January 1st 2013.

Oil was as high as 107$ a barrel (for wti) this year and is now 55$, oil is not doomed Grin

Supply/Demand...

Oil is not doomed, but oil producers are sweating.
Bitcoin may not be doomed, but miners aren't getting rich quickly.

I won't be surprise to see Oil back at more than 100$/barrel within 2 years. Bitcoin will be back at 1000$ soon too.

The world is changing and most people don't get it.

The price of BTC is not correlated to oil price. With the oil supply surplus, it will not go to $100 easily.

will they also can mine monero? If yes, huge difficulty jump is comming.

http://ltcgear.com/time-to-act-the-second-generation/

Cryptnote is not popular enough to warrant ASIC miner.

I lost all my hopes about XMR sadly. Sad
I hope everybody can gain their losses again.

Are you related to Pandacoin? or Do you have lots of pandacoin?

I use more power in Lyra because I use higher Vcore and higher memory frequency.
You use less power in Lyra because you use lower Vcore and lower core frequency.
So maybe Lyra uses similar power as Neo.

 Grin so plz try different config to get max speed and less power, may be your problem in catalyst and OS driver version, or mem/core ratio and other setting like intensity, worksize. We tried trix,giga,ref 79xx,asus,pcs,msi and among them run stable at undervolt and high speed
dont worry maybe in the next few days you'll be able to get better results.

My Lyra hash rate is 7900kH/s with 950W power consumption, or 8.3kH/J. My Neoscrypt hash rate is 2000kH/s with 870W power or 2.3 kH/J. Is your efficiency better than that?

I also run XMR cpu mining with that rig, using 3 threads of 3770k. The power consumption includes cpu mining, which is about 30W.

we used less vcore to get max speed with Lyra, for example 0.95~1 volt. But in order to get max speed in Neo, we should run at least 1060 ~1100 . ( i tesed many different types of vga) - People who could not run Lyra at max speed and less power need to tweak and waste a lot of time to figure out what optimize config to run.

What is the power consumption of 280x (or 7970) with Lyra2RE? (w/ overclocked and w/o)

It is higher than X11, Neoscrypt, but less than scrypt.

no way, at the same clock frequency lyra cooler than X11,13,15,Neo, approximately 10 degree C. When we ran Lyra at undervolt it took less power

I measured the power consumption. With same core, different memory frequency (750/1500MHz (Lyra) vs 750/1000MHz(Neo)), but higher voltage (880mV vs 840mV) Lyra is about 10% more than Neo. 950W compared to 870W with Neo. That is with 4X7990. I cannot run Lyra with the same voltage as it is not stable.
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Litecoin Cannot Be Bitcoin's Silver on: December 16, 2014, 06:15:45 PM
There is not much development in LTC. That is the main problem.

Using BTC is a good way to promote it.

They did not invent gun powder or the abacus, they lack brain power, they have no culture or history, they are lazy and they are not pretty, for sure.

/sarc

Who are they?

The chinese. A joke. Bad form.

You're an ignorant moron.

http://asianhistory.about.com/od/asianinventions/a/InventGunpowder.htm

I think that is just a bad joke, no ill intention.

Halfway. 550kh/s on 290X.

Oh, and my 2 270X cards: https://ottrbutt.com/miner/neoscryptwolf-12152014-2.png

Do you use the public kernel? What is your setting?

God no; this would be impossible.

so that is just bragging.

I there some issue with 290x on Lyra2RE ,,because i cant get my 290x's to hash as fast as my 290 non x's
can you give the numbers for both as well as the setting

"290 non x Elipa 1.488 Mh/s

          "gpu-engine" : "980",
          "gpu-memclock" : "1500",
          "xintensity" : "64",
          "nfactor" : "10",
          "worksize" : "64",
          "algorithm" : "Lyra2RE",

290x hynix 1.450 Mh/s

          "gpu-engine" : "1070",
          "gpu-memclock" : "1400",
          "xintensity" : "64",
          "algorithm" : "Lyra2RE",
          "worksize" : "64",

I've had the clock speeds all over the place it just seems like the 290x's don't want to leave 1.450 Mh/s

and yet the 290's are happy to run faster easyer

Drop core, raise memclk.

True, it is memory intensive.

sgminer shuts, this is my bat file now

sgminer -o stratum+tcp://am01.eu.trademybit.com:8880 -u petazetas.neo -p x --xintensity 3  -w 64 -g 4

Try -g 2.

My card is Hynix and im just able to pull 265 stable with I13 w64 g2 1100/1500

Try --xintensity 3  -w 64 -g 2 and Catalyst 14.6 driver.

So 14.6 are best? I downgraded to 14.4 Undecided

And why dows xintensity work better than I13?

Yes, 14.6 is best, it is similar to 14.7. No idea about why xintensity = 3 is better.

Dump, and again unprofitable to mine Sad
how many people are still mining the coin?
not hot now.

Shut mine off yesterday.  Mined for first 2 days only.
why?
really  unprofitable to mine due to the price?

Not profitable for me atm.  Maybe to those that has low or free electric rates.  I'm better off buying than mining.

It is only profitable for electricity price less than 8c/kWh.

Difficulty is following bitcoin's price. Lets see what happen if bitcoin price suddenly rise to $1000....

I think $1000 is not going to happen anytime soon.
We have to break beyond $400 first.

When BTC gets used more, price will rise.

The problem is, those giant company don't keep btc and they sell it almost immediately. So they will most likely drive the price down....

Yes. But When B2B BTC usage appears, there will be some BTC retained in the corporate account, that will reduce the dumping into exchanges.
