I had a sempron 140 on 4x 5970's, it had the second core unlocked
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Compare profitability: Scrypt Scrypt-N multipool, Vertcoin, Doge Litecoin P2Pool on: April 25, 2014, 08:38:51 AM
CleverMining website is down today and I couldn't get the stats for it. Mining pool is still working. If the site comes back up tomorrow I will probably need to average both days.

what's efficiency of doge p2pool you're using?  i've been mining on one at ~110-120% for the last 2 months

it is not difficult to do so for anyone (until enough people wise up), so this should be taken into account
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Nxt is the future? on: April 25, 2014, 08:35:10 AM
Because I'm not done making OppaiCoin yet
585  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Lets Join Forces And combine our GH to make some Bitcoin on: April 25, 2014, 08:28:18 AM
wow, I get a negative trading score just because I wanted people to join me in mining. This forum is really out there. Oh and maths is improper English. I defiantly will be canceling my account on here after this.
because at best you have made a mistake in your assumptions

otherwise you are a scammer

i think it's a reasonable precaution to possibly prevent anyone else that fails at maths from taking you up on that offer
586  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Does a pool exist that will give a full bitcoin to finder on: April 25, 2014, 08:23:40 AM
yeah, it'd be possible to do so.  modify open source mpos maybe.

p2pool gives a .5% reward to block finder (~0.127 bitcoins, assuming transaction fees modifies it.  they might not)

I'll be impressed if you give me a super special discount where I can actually make a profit, by being generous enough to pay you, say, a month or so in advance for the hashes provided.

I think that cost would be about 1/4th or 1/3rd of what cex is at right now..

"Warning: LOST CONTACT WITH BITCOIND "

Hi,

I'm having  a problem with my Dogecoin windows (32 bit) p2pool and would appreciate some help.

I installed Dogecoin p2pool for window by following these instructions:
http://www.reddit.com/r/dogemining/comments/1wmw3j/how_to_setup_p2pool_locally_windows

The pool was running great for a day when I started having connection issues.
For some reason connection to the p2pool or connection between the pool and the wallet QT is lost.
The connection is lost 2 or 3 min after starting the p2pool. After that it's on and off connection.

I disabled the firewall and anti-virus just to be sure its not blocking the connection, but that doesn't look like the cause.
Both uPnP in Windows and my router are turned on.

Here are some lines from my  log file:

Thank you!
Well, you probably have an old version of dogecoin.

Did you cut 1m40s out of the log, or is that exactly what it looked like?  If that's so, it's definitely an old version of dogecoin.  (and a slow machine)

if not, the only connection you've maintained is 127.0.0.1.  so you have a connectivity issue

Well, it's not like it'd be priced at something that'd be more profitable for you to use yourself

color me unimpressed
591  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: I cant withdraw my earnings. on: April 24, 2014, 11:00:53 PM
Looks to me like it hasn't even solved a block yet, so you don't even have any pending bitcoins.  Try a p2pool.
592  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: P2pool Problem on: April 24, 2014, 10:55:20 PM
it's simple variance

compare hash rates to payouts for colonel sanders

http://nogleg.com:9555/static/graphs.html?Week

I got nothing for a good 12 hours on Monday w/ 2mhash or so constant.  I also got up to 1.5K with 1.15mhash or so on Tuesday night.  p2pool has a lot of variance.  in the long run, i'm getting 110-115% or more than I would from a 0% fee pool.

Part of the problem is the share difficulty adjustments as the pool gains more mhash.  That's what that doge.st solves w/ the proxy mining thing.... but while I'd have less variance on there, my efficiency would be about 7 or 8% less.  In the long run, it'd be worse.

.. also, 80000 shares accepted at that difficulty level is a shitload.  Last time I checked my miners that had been going for about 12hrs, they all had something over 1M.  (1mhash, 900khash, 650khash, 650khash).  I get more DOA, but that's partly because my home connection is 5mbps/768kbps (download or upload = screwed)... otherwise it'd be around 4% also.
593  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: No payout ever received with p2pool? on: April 24, 2014, 10:46:14 PM
I have made a small FAQ on my p2pool site. With a schema it is more simple to understand...
Just have a look at  http://dogecoin.p2pool-mining.org/stats/200

Hopes it can help you to figure out.

Thanks for dragging a thread back from the dead 2 months later.  You also need to proof read and fix all the spelling and grammar mistakes on your FAQ.

Think I'll drag it back up after several weeks of being dead as well........

because I'm getting tired of all these guides saying that latency is the most important factor.  Use simple logic to discover how many interrupts you should expect per minute, i.e. 8 interrupts per hour w/ 100ms difference (say, 150ms latency vs 50ms) = 8x200 (round trip because share->server and new work from server->peer)  = 1600ms.    That's 2.667% more DOA.  Comparing pools, if pool X has an absolute value of 3% more orphans than Pool Y and is 50ms, vs the 150ms of Pool Y, pool Y is still better.  Your cgminer stats might not look as great, though.

There are also lots of pools that will get lots of DOA regardless of latency (like p2pool.org).

I don't know anything about gridseeds..

270K as a best share after all that time is extremely unlucky (that was probably the only one high enough, thus the 100 payments etc)

597  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: How can 0% fee pools make money? on: April 04, 2014, 07:08:54 AM
There are merge minable scrypt coins but I don't believe any of them have real value. Namecoin seems the only one that is worth something.

Has no one answered this question yet?  Honest zero fee pools survive off of donations.  It's as simple as that.

I wasn't aware there was a scrypt coin that could be merge mined.  I suppose I should look into that.

My pool is at 0% fee, but I'm not losing any money on it, since I pay for that server & have had it for years, anyway.  The processing power & bandwidth the p2pool & dogecoind require is negligible.
