158 Blades (108 pending blades)
584  Economy / Securities / ASICMiner Shares & Futures Contract on: May 11, 2013, 08:42:14 PM
As everyone knows, ASICMiner has been increasing their hash rates lately and their share value and dividend payouts have starting catching the eyes of infrequent visitors of the Securities subforum. Additionally, they are also selling Block Eruptor blades and USB miners with profits being part of the dividend payout.

ASICMiner Block Eruptor Blades

ASICMiner Block Eruptor USB Miners

With another BE blade auction going on now and USB miners going on sale in the coming weeks, I would like to offer the first hybrid ASICMiner share sales/futures contract.

The Offer:
30 ASICMiner shares
All dividend payouts for my 100 Shares for the last 2 weeks of May (22nd & 29th)

In Return:
70 BTC

Why Consider This?
ASICMiner will ramp up to 50 TH/s by June and having projected hash rate of 262 TH/s in the coming months, making it quite lucrative to get invested with ASICMiner now. Additionally, there will also be payouts from both Blade auctions (50+ currently) and USB sales (10k+ for sale soon), adding further value to the shares. With shares around 1.8-1.9 BTC and rising, you stand to profit.

Why am I doing this?
I have a debt pay date coming up and need the funds ASAP to finalize a previous deal. John K will serve as escrow, ensuring that the contract will be upheld. Additional terms can be negotiated to protect interested parties if they're worried about me not holding my end.

PM me if interested and thanks for your time.

588  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 11, 2013, 02:37:33 PM
Maybe this is a noob question, but why there is a 242-pages thread about ASICMINER, instead of a dedicated sub-forum?

Because the vast majority of it is gossip and backslapping.

But it would be a good thing to have a whole forum dedicated to asicminer. Noobquestions can get their own thread, discussions are more often done in own threads and friedcat maybe gets his real announcement thread...

John (+Theymos et al), MAKE THIS HAPPEN! I'm sure there would have to be some sort of agreement and etc.

591  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMINER: Erupter Blades. Review, comments, photos, and discussion! on: May 11, 2013, 02:11:42 PM
I would like to know what happens if one chip on the pcb is broken. I heard from another asicboard that is developing now that the asics are chained, so one broken one will make all chips useless. Is it the same with asicminer-boards or are they constructed another way?

For those that want to get their mining hardware now, check out the new fixed auction: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=201753.0

10 GH/s boards going at 49.99 BTC apiece, get 'em sooner than Avalon Batch 2 (within a week of auction ending)!

I believe that's 50 blades...? Thanks for playing everyone, just sent to the wallet appointed by John K and friedcat. Well, that was quick.

595  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 10, 2013, 03:49:35 AM
Smaller nm mask means more hashrate per chip. However, they're more expensive to produce as newer fabs charge higher prices as they're still recouping their own investment. Friedcat guessed right that an antique mask would mean he could get the chips fabbed faster with greater reliability. He also could lock in the fab to produce them in volume for him.

At some point AM will have to go to a smaller mask, but at least now there's a bulging war chest to pay for it, I expect. So booking a newer fab for a longer period of time becomes feasible.

There are some other companies already developing chips with much smaller masks (~35nM maybe?) but none of them have hit production yet AFAIK.

So it's wishful thinking to have next gen ASIC chips on par with Intel's Skylake/Skymont?  Tongue
596  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 10, 2013, 03:12:12 AM
Hmm, what are we doing with the namecoins we are getting from Bitminter?  We must have quite a few by now...

Just give them away. I have a namecoin address somewhere..

Would it work to have shareholders provide friedcat with a namecoin address, and they be paid out proportionally to those that want them?  It might be an unwelcome pain for friedcat though, hopefully the current distribution of bitcoin dividends is streamlined and automated, and adding the namecoin to the process is not too much of a headache...

I said dump for the best NMC/BTC conversion rate, I want my portion in BTC pl0x
597  Economy / Securities / Re: Is there a market for non-dividend stocks? on: May 10, 2013, 02:46:59 AM
Are you referring to just BTC-denominated companies? I'm not sure... There would have to be some major benefit to offset the the lack of dividends (imo).

One last bit: here's the most recent official update - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg2013118#msg2013118

There's another tomorrow on the main thread

BitFunder is just one of 3 exchanges that hold AM shares (BTCT & Havelock). Many actually just hold contracts with friedcat, who sends divs every Wed. You would need to check the link in my sig for share specifics.

FYI: This week's dividends were 0.011085/share. It's going up from here. No one is going to tell you to buy ASICMiner shares but I will leave this here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg1767379#msg1767379

Where did you find out about this weeks dividend already?
