581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the obstacle of Bitcoin? on: January 03, 2019, 09:18:36 AM
Stability of Bitcoin's value has been an issue for a long time. Well, if its goal is to become the world's main currency. People are calling its ultimate achievement the replacement of the US Dollar as the topmost currency of the globe. However, as for me, it will just be an offshoot. If Bitcoin's price will reach a stable point then it might grow to be a strong contender of the USD. And coupled with a wide circulation and actual utility, it will organically grow as the primary currency. But until then, it will mostly serve as a form of investment, which is not really its true purpose.
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why is ethereum on the rise?? on: January 03, 2019, 07:20:32 AM
Ethereum is on the rise leaving other coins like ripple and bitcoin cash it recently took back it's second place on cmc.. at already at $150.. are we going to see ethereum at $200 this month??

Even before this month reaches halfway to the end, Ethereum will go beyond $200. I think I am pretty sure about it. Well, first and foremost, the new year comes with fresh hopes and fresh plans. Secondly, and mainly, Ethereum will be having a hard fork this January 16 if I am not mistaken. The Constantinople Ethereum hardfork will introduce major upgrades and developments. That means a lot of confidence will be built up among the investors of Ethereum. The Ethereum sentiments will naturally grow bullish because of this.
583  Economy / Economics / Re: PREDICTION IS SOMETIMES LIKE A FALSE PROMISE on: January 03, 2019, 06:46:14 AM
Last year saw many people predict BTC year-end prices, but nothing was validated with time. it is very difficult for BTC to reach predictable prices. Future price predictions fail to consider many factors and problems that may occur over time. Maybe, we can only estimate the value of assets for the next few days like weather experts.

At least with weather experts they are using scientific technologies that really monitor and forecast the probable weather changes in the next hours. With crypto forecast, there is no certainty whatsoever. If a weatherman fails despite all the available technologies in use, it is because the weather may occasionally get out of their usual patterns. But if a crypto price analyst fails, it is because the prices of cryptocurrencies are basically unpredictable in the first place.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH to 800$ in JAN 2019? (after fork speculations) on: January 03, 2019, 05:39:56 AM
We shall see. There is only a couple of weeks left before the fork will finally take place. There will be more accumulation in the days to come especially as the days are nearing to the scheduled fork. That is for sure. But whether it is enough to raise the price of ETH to $800 is quite dubious to me. Unlike other hard forks that resulted to a different coin, this one will not. There would be no split. There is only development on the same blockchain. The pump would therefore be lesser as compared to when there is a new forked coin that would be freely given 1:1 to the coin owners.
585  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is no magic in trading on: January 03, 2019, 05:08:12 AM
That is so true. There is indeed no magic in trading. But then there is probably what we call luck- good and bad. Sometimes there is a strong pump that happens that seem to be coming out of nowhere. Perhaps a huge investor suddenly becomes interested to acquire a bulk of the coin. Sometimes also things would go so bad just when you expect them to be really great. Having said that, crypto is still highly unpredictable. But of course, it is always best to have some informed analysis and strategies and great skills .
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Perspective about HODL. on: January 01, 2019, 09:33:49 AM
To HODL or not to HODL is a matter of faith on the coin that you have. But such faith on the coin's future should not be a blind one. There has to be some fundamental bases upon which your decision to HODL or not is based. And then there is the fact that risk is always present. I used to hear some good advice not to be too loyal to any coin at all because they could perish anytime for myriad of reasons. This is also true. That is why HODL should not be forever. Everyone should have a point of satisfaction. Lest you might lose what you have.
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Bitcoin seem to always rally in December? on: December 31, 2018, 12:58:19 PM
My theory is that people buy it as holiday gifts.

There is no such fixed pattern. Well, the last couple of years is a testament to it. Last December saw a very aggressive bull run in Bitcoin and even to so many altcoins. The rally was so strong that its correction was also very strong. This year's December is definitely one very different case. While there was some growth to the prices, there was no huge rally. There was no single bull showing its horns.
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why cryptos are facing such downfall? on: December 31, 2018, 12:34:21 PM
The crypto world is one which is highly unpredictable. But downfall does not mean death just as rising does not mean going to the moon. The truth is that it is just like that, I mean the movement of the prices. Somebody will buy amd somebody else will sell. That is how it goes for anything that is being actively traded 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Whatever happens, I still suggest to my friends to support crypto, whether by using it as an alternative form of payment, or by investing in it, or by accepting it in their businesses.
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never regret anything on: December 31, 2018, 12:04:14 PM
Just like you, I am not a man who tends to have regrets in the end. Before doing something, I always think and analyse about it more than three times. Once a decision is made, I stick to it because that is for me the best thing to do during that time. This is exactly what happened when I decided to invest in Bitcoin and several altcoins and a few ICOs. I never regretted that I shelled out a good amount of my savings for crypto. I made profit, even today when the market is not good. Because I came a bit earlier.
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Put 100$ per month in Crypto currencies on: December 29, 2018, 01:59:19 AM
Putting in $100 every month in cryptocurrencies is a nice way to save money and make some wealth in the future. That is, for as long as it is an extra savings for you, which you will not be needed in case you will have some unplanned spending. Otherwise, you might be forced to sell them at a loss. Savings in crypto is one of the best forms of investment.

In terms of coins, I am pitching for the top ones. Of course you will have Bitcoin most of all. And then for altcoins go for the most solid. You have ETH, Waves, ADA, XRP, EDO, XEM, SC, and I would add CRPT.
591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in ICO or buy BTC? on: December 29, 2018, 01:23:50 AM
For sure you have already made your decision. But for those who have yet to decide which way is better, I would say that buying BTC is the much better choice as compared to investing in ICO. The risk you would be taking in investing in an ICO is far bigger than when you invest in BTC. For one, Bitcoin is already accepted by the widest population of crypto supporters. Aside from that, Bitcoin is already in use around the world. You cannot compare a start-up with it. A start-up project has yet to even prove that it will survive after the ICO is done.
592  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: risk in hodling and trading strategy on: December 28, 2018, 05:51:41 AM
Make no mistake, there are risks in both. Actually, both have advantages and disadvantages. However, both have different skill level needed, patience, hardwork, and so on. When it comes to HODLing, there is not much analyses needed as compared to active trading. HODLing is basically much better with long term. But then you will have to endure the painful sight everytime the market passes through the bear season. On the other hand, day trading involves a lot of strategies and techniques and analyses that you will actively make use of every single day.
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for those who love Bitcoin on: December 28, 2018, 05:13:54 AM
I don't know much about theymos other than the fact that he has the most responsiblities in running bitcointalk.org. On the other hand, I know quite well that despite the sad updates on the prices of crypto especially Bitcoin, the growth is still moving on. Despite the bad news spreading around and ringing a lot noisier than the good ones because of the bear market, there remains the good ones which are actually bigger than the bad ones.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we make Crypto go viral? on: December 28, 2018, 02:15:53 AM
We need to be more open about it. Discuss crypto, its revolutionary features, its fast transactions and low fees, its people-oriented use, and so on together with your families, friends, relatives, acquaintances, strangers you meet along the way. Use crypto in buying stuff. If you have businesses, accept crypto payments. Try to inquire in stores and shops if they are accepting crypto payment because you would love to pay through it. If you have great exeriences about crypto, share them and make other people know about them too through social media. Do not be afraid to openly talk about it, promote it, and defend it.
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It might not be easy, you just have to let go on: December 28, 2018, 01:43:46 AM
The crypto world is getting bigger and bigger. The prospects have increased a lot while some others are already fulfilled. It is easier to observe now that more restaurants, stores, and shops are already adding Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their list of accepted payments. People should learn to look at Bitcoin and altcoins beyond their prices. Looking at the adoption and actual use of cryptocurrencies is much better. It would give us a hopeful outlook of the future of crypto in general. You would be thankful that you have joined in it much earlier.
596  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin volume is still rising ? on: December 28, 2018, 01:10:54 AM
The volume is always moving up and down. It is as volatile as the price. It rises and falls. But then I am inclined to believe that it will generally be directed upwards even though there are countless of downward movements along the way. The world is getting into cryptocurrency. We are still young right now even if the crypto market is already valued in the billions of USD. There will be much more growth and development in the horizon.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy or Sell...??? on: December 27, 2018, 12:00:24 PM
Right now, I would say buy. But I am saying this with reservation. I do not think anyone could say with all certainty that the red candles will stop in a day or two from now. But then with how low the prices have gone, I am positive that it could not get much lower anymore. Thus, I say buy! However, if you are really afraid you would only lose whatever amount you invest, do not proceed. But HODL whatever it is that you own. Selling is not an option during these days of very cheap prices.
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A good way to avoid scam ICO projects on: December 27, 2018, 11:26:41 AM
Overall, the best way to avoid scam ICOs is to become very diligent and serious enough to make tedious and deep research as to the credentials of every single member of the team, the details of the objectives of the project and how they would go about reaching them , the products, the economy, the roadmaps, partnerships, and so many other facets.

Carefully reading whitepapers is only one of the tasks needed to fully come up with the best choice of ICO.

Without the necessary traits to do all these, the best way left to avoid scam ICOs is to avoid ICOs altogether.
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bulls on crypto market are back on: December 27, 2018, 04:48:03 AM
Your altcoins are also some of my good coins, too. But it seems to me that the bulls are tamed very early, in fact as soon as it started to make some strong moves. I was also thinking that it was already the start of something big. There were big gains, in the hundreds, in a few days time only. But with the looks of the charts right now, it appears that we are going to finish the year with a sad note. Well, what can we do? We'll wait for 2019 to come and hope and pray that it will be a lot better.
600  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not be Greedy on: December 27, 2018, 02:16:05 AM
In my opinion, the best time to sell is when the market price of the coin is 20%+ higher than the market price at which you bought the coin. Dont wait till the market price is 95%+ before you sell. That only happens when you got your eyes glues to your machine 24/7. Dont be greedy... Make a little profit and grow it over time. Cryptomarket is growing and full of terror! Be careful

People have different plans. Strategies and techniques vary from one person to another. There are those who prefer to celebrate their 20% profit and get out. But then there are also those who are geared toward the longer terms. They do not mind if the road going there is rough. There will be 20%, 30%, 50% rise and fall but they are setting longer terms for bigger returns.

Sometimes being greedy, if within a wiser plan, is much better than avoiding it due to panic and fear. I think it would be better to be greedy when others are getting emotional, losing by selling very cheap.
