Can Bitcoin or any other altcoin help poor countries?
how? what can be done?
in my opinion, bitcoin is not enough to help a poor country because bitcoin will not be able to help poor countries if the system of government is broken. so that the state of poverty then the country should also improve its systems
that's right, even if someone just donate a ton of dollars in poor country to help the poor but the government still broken then there will be another people turning into poor as the effect of broken government.corruption, nepotism and anything bad still in the countries by the way
5822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is earning bitcoin Boring? on: September 29, 2016, 10:38:47 AM
bitcoin is the same money and I don't think earning money can be boring. You always feel happy when you earn money so whenever I earn or get paid in bitcoins it's a refreshing thing for me and i can't get bored from it whichever is the way to earn it.
just wonder whether you're ever get a job or not, having and doing the following job is indeed boring but the one that make people keep doing it because you will get paid monthly or until the job done,so earning is not boring but the effort you put in it makes it boring
5823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal receiving Bitcoin?! on: September 29, 2016, 10:34:43 AM
PayPal and Bitcoin are starting to become 'friends' since the Xapo CEO has been hired by them. Maybe we'll see some collaboration, but we have to know and pay attention to one thing: as soon as PayPal or any credit card or bank gets in business with Bitcoin, the Bitcoin's privacy will be over for many of us. I prefer sitting in front of my computer and having a totally anonymous wallet instead of the partnership with PayPal, which also is in partnership with MasterCard etc..
well that's actually only for a bitcoin wallet, but not for bitcoin's address, the transaction history can be traced by using blockchain explorer, and once the owner of the address have been known then it'll also reveal the owner's activity,so it's better to make no one know what's your address to be honest
5824  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 29, 2016, 10:30:46 AM
Bitcoin wallet is better than the bank in my opinion purely because you get more freedom. Bitcoin wallet are also very safe from what I know.
Ofcourse putting money on the bank also has its benefits but I am not a fan of borrowing the bank money and not getting or barely getting rent.
with bitcoin wallet the safety depend on the user themselves and how they can manage it,if the users just too lazy to setup the possible security option so they shouldn't expect the safety while bank match well for those who need safety but don't have time to manage it but having disadvantages,it's freedom
5825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: September 28, 2016, 11:24:42 AM
Because those who have huge amount of money they can't afford to store all the money in one wallet because of safely. And sime think that having many wallet well be easy to mage huge amount of money.
having many wallet is definitely not going to make you easier to manage the money,it'll be even more complicated than only having one wallet, you will need to open the various wallet even if you only want to check the amount that you're currently owning, the transaction history,or anything that having relation with the wallet
5826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: September 28, 2016, 11:22:34 AM
I think Bitcoin has helped a lot of people including, but not limited to, poor countries. Even in third world countries, there's an Internet connection. It might be slower than those of first world's, but speed of the Internet isn't actually enough force to stop someone doing Bitcoin.

Since most people in poor countries struggle to find a job because they don't have a degree, or maybe it was just because of their crazy government. Whatever the reason is, they could always earn money from Bitcoin.
i think the internet speed doesn't give an affect that much especially if you're mining but as i see most of developing country are now having an LTE connection or even fiber optic but didn't really know about developing country in african ,but that connection above could be considered as above average for doing anything with bitcoin
5827  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin replaces the money? Could happen? on: September 28, 2016, 11:19:02 AM
Bitcoin will be more used in futere but not enough to replace dollar for example
It need time
even it's about the time but if bitcoin just seems doesn't match well for offline condition and could potentially make transaction in offline mode / real world more complicated then waiting will be useless, from my opinion bitcoin actually only perfect for digital transaction nor offline transaction
5828  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: September 28, 2016, 10:50:41 AM
Btc will brake 700$ at the end of October
Thank you for the prediction, but it is uncomplete because there are not reasons of prediction. I think you have to adds reasons or method your analysis of bitcoin, it will become more complete.
that's just random speculation even it's backed up with some reason it'll not just happening as right as he said because no one could predict the future of bitcoin price, but a speculation without reason is just useless words and not worth for trust
5829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: September 28, 2016, 10:49:09 AM
Absolutely false with over 740 cryptocurrencies it's quit hard to compete and stay in top position because all coins have its importance. But not all coins are so famous and used by many people but atleast 10 to 20 coins are capable of competing with bitcoin.
well can't say that atleast 10 or 20 coins could compete bitcoin while only ethereum that having 10,4millions dollar marketcap for 24 hours is far from bitcoin that having marketcap about 48,2 millions dollar in 24 hours ,bitcoin have about more than 4 times ethereum's marketcap but it's also good start for eth because they're still new
5830  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: can we in Africa really successful mining bitcoin. on: September 28, 2016, 10:23:04 AM
Chinese are doing will because they have advanced technology. One day we in Africa will develop to that level and we will become the grand master of bitcoin and other coins.
i think it's not because they're having any advanced technologies or anything else because i think their rig was the same as what people use in different countries, they're having cheap electricity that could make them optimizing their profit while in most of europe or america electricity is quite expensive
5831  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is the Founder of Bitcoin?! on: September 28, 2016, 10:19:52 AM
Is Satoshi Nakamoto really the founder of bitcoin? Then why he did not show in public? What do you think the reason maybe? He might be a billionaire by now if he showed his true identity in public.
Why should he show his identity when he is already a billionaire without it?
He is indeed already rich from his bitcoin
5832  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up a bitcoin miner on: September 28, 2016, 09:52:10 AM
as people said that most of VPS provider prohibit any mining activities in their server so it's the main reason to NOT mining with VPS
and also most of VPS don't have graphic card and if you're mining with only CPU even it's intel XEON with the latest series don't expect good hashrate
so i say it's not a good idea
5833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: September 28, 2016, 09:49:54 AM
I dont think the bitcoin can help poor countries how would they help poor countries if they dont have money to buy bitcoins how are they suppose to help them i dontt see the point of this question.

They can earn it, a poor country doesnt mean that the country does not have internet system or computers at all, but means poor by economy, so the people of that country can learn about the technology of bitcoin and start earning bitcoins online like how we are doing, i personally never have bought any bitcoins but i'm always earning it and it is helping me a lot financially.

True and also in some developing countries electricity may be less price then they can start mining bitcoins and make more profit. One no need to have money to become rich but should know how to earn money then soon or later then can become rich. Bitcoins are one of the ways to make some extra money.
in developing countries electricity is cheap because subsidized by the government and because of it the electricity was limited too so they can't afford to have big mining rig, also keep in mind that mining rig is quite expensive,RX480 is really expensive thing for people in developing countries
5834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal receiving Bitcoin?! on: September 28, 2016, 09:46:47 AM
I don't know what is the actual reason that PayPal doesn't accept Bitcoin but I hope soon they will. On that way they will atract even more users, so I hope this will change in the future.

The reason is that Bitcoin in potential can wipe out PayPal as a company since Bitcoin makes PayPal obsolete in every shape and form. They know that very well.

I don't think bitcoins can completely wipe out PayPal because as of now bitcoin market is just less than 10 billion market and also you can't send bitcoins to unknown person to buy anything because they can easily cheat you or you need to go through with escrow. But in case of Paypal, you can buy confidently so both got advantages and disadvantage and we need both of them for different purposes.

Agree! Bitcoins cant beat paypal. Paypal now is very famous and lot of users of it. Unlike bitcoins it just new in these something that if you have a trouble of it devs from it cant support you unlike paypal they are so accomodating.
which trouble by the way? bitcoin was made to become currency and NOT a service so bitcoin don't need support or anything else, just like when  you use an ordinary currency like dollar or yuan, when you just lose it somewhere does there's also support that you can call to get help? i guess no
you're comparing currency with a service which is definitely not right
5835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: September 25, 2016, 08:02:31 AM
It will be surprising to see anyone hating bitcoin other than one that have lost bitcoin due to their carelessness. I think majority love bitcoin in reality and only few may hate but it is quite sure they will come back and use bitcoin in future.
most people still do not believe it and they actually do not understand the concept of bitcoin. I'm sure when we understand the workings and the concept of bitcoin then they will immediately fall in love to use bitcoin.
don't even sure they will fall in love even they're knowing about bitcoin's concept, most of people just don't trust any such thing that's digital nowadays
they're still stay on the phyiscal thing or on thing that's in real world, just need to educate them about how's digital things work first
5836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is earning bitcoin Boring? on: September 25, 2016, 08:00:56 AM
Earning bitcoin from faucets and captchas though is boring as hell in my opinion.

I don't understand why people use faucets and captcha-typing to earn a few microBTCs. It is never worth your time and effort. Tell me about a single faucet, which pays you more than $0.1 per hour. It is a complete wastage of time. IMO, it will be better to spend that time elsewhere, even if it is used for tasks such as data entry or data management.

I can't understand either, but you know some developing or 3rd world countries, people can't earn much there, therefore they do this hard labor job to make penny. Fortunately my monthly salsry is ok, so I can do higher pay rate job.

For us that are living in a well developed country, these faucet and captcha payouts are dust and not worth our time. But for people in third world countries it can be seen as a more than welcome extra revenue stream, even if it's just $5-$10 per month that they earn from it. Add on top of that that they are most likely also participating in a signature campaign, and you'll get an idea of how much these few Dollars can help them in their lives.
even in third world countries $5-$10 is definitely not worth the time and effort you put for a month really, even it's just only for extra revenue, most of people would prefer selling thing that gives pretty decent profit to be honest, even though in 3rd world countries $10 is such a big money for teenagers
5837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins users are what is holding Bitcoin back on: September 25, 2016, 07:53:20 AM
what makes escrow absurd? even if someone gonna make a transaction to an individual that's stranger for the buyers through bank transfer they will also use escrow to prevent from any scamming attempt,as you say that actually buyers and sellers can't fully trust escrow, just seek for the most trusted ones
Quote
The buyer should be the one to take on the risk
if there's a way to go without risk, why choosing to do this one?
even though i'm agree that bitcoin users are actually holding bitcoin back
5838  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: September 25, 2016, 07:49:33 AM
honestly very difficult to choose between them. but if I want to invest in a short period of time then I would choose bitcoin.
but when I want to invest in the long term then I would choose gold. all of it in accordance with our conditions.
Gold may double your capital in long run like after 10 or 15 years whereas bitcoin will multiply your total capital amount in 10 times as per previous returns of bitcoin investments. So, choosing bitcoin must be must be a wise decision here regardless of your target of short or long term returns expectations.
you must've been forgotten about the volatility characteristic of bitcoin, even you sure that in 10 or 15 years bitcoin will rising about 10 times as you say but doesn't guarantee it will become real and keep in mind that there's also price falling that could make the price that's before rising and goes down at the beginning point
5839  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Would you buy a hardware wallet? on: September 23, 2016, 07:56:22 AM
I dont like to put all of my coins into a wallet so i dont think i would buy a hardware wallet and that is just because i know how bad the security of the wallets are.

I disagree that the security of the bitcoin wallet providers online has bad security at all. Do you think blockchain has a bad security? I guess you are just putting out a statement without basis but I can't blame you if you think that online wallets does have poor security. For me, I won't go to buy hardware wallet it is just going to cost me another bucks.

You are right the blockchain as a example has a good security but it stays a  online wallet, who knows what will happen.
With a paper wallet you are safe from hackers, a hardware wallet is okay but I would never buy it.

in my opinion it is more secure and easy to use blokchain wallet, I suggest enable all existing security to avoid incidents that we do not want
yeah they're having security features to prevent hacker, but the thing since they're an online wallet service, then if they turn out to scam thousands of people because this service is actually owned by someone then what you can do? don't expect the security features would prevent it
even though i don't think they wanna do it because they're just a popular service and wasting the popularity such a useless thing
5840  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: September 23, 2016, 07:52:25 AM
to me we should only choose bitcoin instead of cash because we can use bitcoin for double purpose, we can use bitcoin for investment as well as for buying selling things like cash.
So can you spend your bitcoin without a cash? I think not, and no one can because we are too dependent on fiat and without it our bitcoin might be worthless, maybe for investment purposes we can consider bitcoin than cash but in overall we need cash to spend.
i think he's talking about cash(money that have pyhsical form) and if that so,we can still spend our bitcoin for such thing like buying stuff, bitcoin is not dependent on fiat, bitcoin only showing the value of bitcoin equivalent to fiat when even there's no fiat bitcoin could be exchanged to gold as long there's demand
