5201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: January 02, 2017, 06:59:05 AM
If bitcoin is banned then the chance to get adopted by many countries will not exist because banning bitcoin will result for having bad reputation to others and development for bitcoin will be hard because for sure the authorities will arrest people who try to help in improving bitcoin since they didn't obey the law.
Well, it proves that with specify a bitcoin, will be very much the crisis. as we know that 20% of the world population, have made their main income from bitcoin, even very many who develop it by creating businesses that accept bitcoin. it may be bad for the country where people are bitcoin hunters like china and india.
How do you know that 20% of the world population have mad their income from bitcoin? even none of statistics from surveys nowadays could prove the exact amount of bitcoin users nor people who made their income from bitcoin. I assume that's kind of unreliable and unreasonable data then. And if country like china where majority miners come from just release a regulation about banning bitcoin then those miners just simply moving out to other profitable cryptocurrencies.
5202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need ebay like site to promote bitcoin on: January 02, 2017, 06:52:11 AM
Bitcoin need  more exposure that it can get and this will create new market and bring more people to Bitcoin, for site like ebay to accept and promote Bitcoin will be a huge boast for it.
But unfortunately, eBay is already owning PayPal and promoting bitcoin will be the same as killing their own service, therefore, it's not going to happen or they will only enable 3rd party and not implementing bitcoin by themselves. I think the only way is to encourage some business which is providing similar service like eBay to implement bitcoin. It's the most effective way so far in my opinion
5203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (RE: Exchanges hack) Let's talk about a solution before instead of crying after on: January 02, 2017, 06:35:02 AM
While the exchange can be hacked one minute after your deposit, if you don't constantly keep the bitcoin in exchange, or keep only the minimum, your chances being hacked are a lot less. I never trust exchanges or online wallet, they are simply too risky. Mt Gox got tons of accounts hacked even before the big hack, so exchanges are not safe at all.
Well, that's why saving up our wealth while being connected to the internet is really not safe. Whether you will lose your money on exchanger is all about your luck. If you're having such a really bad luck then even if you have prevented as much possible problem which will be coming as you can then you may still get the problem.
5204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: January 02, 2017, 06:31:49 AM
But, bitcoin will always be on top, it's hard to go beyond bitcoin shade.
That's simply not true, if other cryptocurrencies become more advanced, are easier to use and receive more adoption, they'll overtake Bitcoin without any trouble. Bitcoin definitely has an advantage because it was the first, but its development is slow, so it may be outpaced by others.
Well, there's existed other cryptocurrencies which have better features or even much more features than bitcoin but still can't take over the bitcoin's place. Even my opinion was whether the coin will be popular or not is based on its community. I think that competing bitcoin with the same system such as using blockchain is really hard because when people just heard blockchain then they think it's something related to bitcoin.
If someone or some groups want to really compete bitcoin then they should develop a new system which is really better and unique
5205  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Tops $1,000 in First Day of 2017 Trading on: January 02, 2017, 05:22:10 AM
Its wow! Just saw the price on preev and came here to look for the relevant topic. It is quite amazing, as I'm still in my first year in the bitcoin world, this is the highest I've seen it go, and I'm quite amazed actually. Wonderful isn't it?

Sure it's the highest point of bitcoin so far and according to this source which is coindesk's bitcoin graph (http://www.coindesk.com/price/) even the highest price bitcoin "was" ever touched in 2014 only about $979 which means we're going to make another record and brace yourself this one is going down in history. Next generation of bitcoin adoption will always talking about this.
5206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need an incentive to make first world population use Bitcoin on: January 01, 2017, 01:27:05 PM
Giving incentives from paying by bitcoins instead of cash, discounts and rebates to name a few. since even the first world country are always looking for extra savings on what they buy.
Because living there will require much more money compared to third world country and that's why so many people in first world country when moving out to the third world country will be instant rich as long they have savings in form of their own currencies therefore people need to be smart to keep their money efficiently without doing anything which is unnecessary and yeah I think that giving special discount for using bitcoin will be very effective but the problem is no one is going to do this unless someone who have some shop but also bitcoin geek.
5207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great way to make Bitcoin! on: January 01, 2017, 10:40:34 AM
I'm newbie so I wonder How I can make more profit from bitcoin such as investing , trading or gambling.
I do not have many bitcoins but I want to try this field in new year. I'm waiting for your advances.
The best wishes and Happy new year . Thank you.

if you do not have much capital, trade may not be too fit, although trading does not have a minimum limit of capital, but I think you need a large enough capital to backup when the price falls and the greater the profit gains
Well, Capital is actually relative and it depends on how you can manage it, even I've heard some people who could manage to have a big amount of bitcoins from trading by only using what he had earned from faucets. So, it depends on how you can manage to get profit as much as you can and not losing your money on trading, and capital is actually affecting to what you can get for every movement or decision you've made from trading
5208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starbucks accepting bitcoin on: January 01, 2017, 10:13:12 AM
Sounds good to me but starbucks isn't actually approving bitcoin its like ipayyou allows bitcoin and we can pay starbucks by that
Yeah, it's actually 3rd party which allows you enable to pay in Starbucks through bitcoin and not directly paying to Starbucks, it's like iPayYou exchanging your bitcoin for you and then forward the fiat towards Starbucks. So, the title is a bit out of its actual point. But whatever, as long as we can pay Starbucks through bitcoin there's nothing to be murmuring about
5209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: January 01, 2017, 10:09:25 AM
Drugs are bought with Bitcoins just like any other currency. But what makes a huge difference is, Bitcoins are used largely for buying drugs. Its the main criticism against bitcoins. I dont know how buying drugs using bitcoins can be controlled.
And I heard that people in darknet are now starting to use Monero as an alternate to pay things there other than bitcoin which as people said Monero have the advantages on its anonymity which is not pseudo-anonymous unlike bitcoin and can't be traced address to address when making a payment. So far that's what I've learnt recently. Probably in the future bitcoin will not be used in darknet anymore who knows?
5210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince my dad that Bitcoin is a trustful currency ? on: January 01, 2017, 09:48:10 AM
Give him some bitcoins and direct him to casino to enjoy and he will surely comeback for more and once he sees his winnings and convert it to fiat he will see the value of BTC
Or probably getting pissed off and kick OP's ass immediately after directing him to play in the casino with bitcoin. Not all parents love to see their kid playing gambling but the majority of them will forbid their kids to play gambling. So your advice is kind of very risky unless his dad is really into gambling and even let their kids play it
5211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto bank on: January 01, 2017, 09:40:35 AM
Hi everyone,

I've been a reader of that wonderfull forum for a while and I'm jumping in for the first time  Wink I've searched that topic deeply for days and days, found some interesting things about that (even here) but no clear answer so I'm starting a new thread to get as detailed informations as possible (many thanks in advance  Wink).

I actually have two questions:
  • Q1: Banks are usually not huge fans of crypto related businesses but I suppose that the big startups around (Kraken, Bitfinex, Polo, etc.) all have bank accounts but my question is: which banks are 'Bitcoin friendly' (or at least Bitcoin tolerant) to start a business with? To specify my question, if I'd like to create a Bitcoin based startup, where should I look at (I'm in Europe)?
  • Q2: Is there such a thing as a 'Bitcoin based' bank? To put it differently, is it possible to get rid of banks totally? The idea would be to have a blockchain based system capable of dealing with SEPA (direct bank debit) or things like that, just like Paypal but based on cryptos?

Many thanks in advance for any enlighted answer you may provide  Tongue

Those questions are asked many times here and i can`t seem to find any good answers too.

I don`t know anything about "bitcoin friendly" banks.

Bitcoin is an anti-bank currency.

Bitcoin was created to get rid of Banking system, in bitcoin the users are the bank and the wallet are bank accounts, Bitcoins give freedom from heavy transaction charges, fast service and high security.
And yet people are still asking about the crypto bank or whatever which is really against the purpose of why bitcoin was created. The bank itself is centralised and against decentralised thing which bitcoin having
Actually, if the crypto bank is really going to exist then the things might work just like an exchanger where you're always trading. Your funds have the chance to be stolen
5212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: January 01, 2017, 06:23:10 AM
We can't know everything what is happening on the internet, especialy having in mind the deep web so it's hard to make any estimation. Still with overal acceptance and especialy with high price the number of users is probably increasing and people are changing their opinion about the Bitcoin for the better.

A rising price of BTC does is not necessarily caused by the increasing number of users. This might be an empty pump from the rich traders who dont have anything better to do with their free time. Please keep that in mind.

That can be one of the causes of the price increase in bitcoin lately, but I think the population who is using bitcoin is also increasing with the time. I can't estimate what is the real number who actually using it, but we start to see more place who accept bitcoin.
Well for my own speculation we are 23% of population who are using bitcoin.. and i think we are increasing but we can say that we are fast growing but we are gradually increasing. that is why the price right now are gradually increasing and i think more people will use bitcoin and more demand will come..

If you think that 23% of the population use BTC right now then please show us your proof. Until you can show me the hard numbers and statistics your speculation has no bearing and is not backed up by facts. Why would we believe a random person in this forum who is sometimes surely brain farting from his mouth.

That number which is 23% is too dreamy and really far from the actual number even today only 40% of people in this world "have" an internet connection according to this site which showing the statistics: http://www.internetlivestats.com/internet-users/ . If you're trying to ask people in your office, your neighbours, or wherever then I guess you will find out not more than 3 of 10 people you were asking will know bitcoin
5213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC38 hot wallet got hacked and lost 1.5 million on: January 01, 2017, 05:41:24 AM
The reason behind all the hacking when the price starts to rise is down to the value nothing more..

Why would a hacking group spend months, working on a site or trying to gain access to the admin accounts by what ever method if the reward is low. or there is no demand for what they plan to steal..

I think when price rises people should be very careful leaving funds in exchanges or casinos or games, because they all become targets for hackers when the price gets high.

Withdraw your funds if you have them tucked away on ANY site. get them in your wallet take control!

If you need to trade or play put only what you need into the accounts!!

Don't let 2017 be a repeat of previous years. We all know the MTgox and other high profile hacks happened when the price went up!
When hackers are trying to hack some popular exchanger site with purpose to steal the bitcoin then they can just do it, it doesn't matter whether the price is at its highest point or whatever because after they steal those bitcoins then they're actually owning it and no one could take over its access unless the private key were stolen or  the hackers getting compromised by someone else. So, the current rate doesn't really affect to the hackers
5214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: January 01, 2017, 05:35:25 AM

so true. I also thought that it would be a competitor for bitcoin, and eth prices had also skyrocketed. but, it did not last long, and when it becomes dimmed. I believe bitcoin will remain the coin of the first, and will be the best coins. I still doubt if there altcoin were able to offset bitcoin or not. altcoin always dimmed when there is a new altcoin, which has a high popularity.
As long as those alternate cryptocurrencies weren't too counting on bitcoin on its every aspects such as ICO, Value of the coin, much more inside its project then it could surpass and probably take over the first place beating bitcoin. Otherwise, it's not going to be happening. this tradition already continued from a few years ago, now it's proven none of them could take over the first place, it's really clear.

I like it, how much?
Only 0.03BTC, let me know if you interested in  Grin

I like how you're editing the price. 0.025, 0.05 or 0.03?
I think the fairest price is 0.03, I thought that 0.05 is just too expensive, so the price is  0.03 BTC  Grin

Well, I think it's too expensive. Let's assume it took you one hour at most, which I doubt, means you charge almost $30 per hour. Quality does not match the price, I'm sorry the entry is declined.
My last offer is BTC0.015, thanks

5219  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long until India "bans" bitcoin and it's effects? on: December 29, 2016, 05:32:09 AM
They'll ban gold before they ban bitcoin. Bitcoin is still deep under the radar in India, only a few people in the loop know about it.
I totally agree with your words that bitcoins is still deep under the radar in India. No body can even think about bitcoin as there are lot other major issues. No body talks about bitcoins and is never trending in india,so i dont think any thing will happen about bitcoin in India any time soon.
Even I doubt that more than 20% Indians know bitcoin and the active users must be lesser than the amount of people who "only" know bitcoin. Gold was very known in India by almost everyone while bitcoin is a small thing for them, that's why I'm sure that government will not really be giving attention onto bitcoin until at least bitcoin becoming as popular as gold
5220  Economy / Economics / Re: How a cashless society could kill Bitcoin. on: December 29, 2016, 05:28:22 AM
Well I see it as battle of centralized and decentralized system where centralized have an edge over that decentralized system since the first one is supported by the government.  Having said that there is an authority behind cashless society, there is a big chance that it will kill bitcoin because it already do the supposed to be function of bitcoin.  Aside from same sort had been tested for several decade now and had been proven to work great unlike bitcoin which is at its early phase of development and application.
So one factor that cashless society could possibly kill bitcoin by making the government to eliminate competition and that is banning bitcoin or same sort of decentralized cryptocurrency.
A cashless society may happen but it is not going to happen everywhere at the same time, it will happen sooner in the developed countries, but in poorer countries cash will keep on existing so a possible solution for some time will be if you live in a cashless society is to buy cash from other countries and then use that cash to buy bitcoin and once you have it you can use the same channels as before to buy stuff with bitcoin like purse.io.
I agree with you on that, the fact that majority of the world's population are still living in poverty, they are not subject for a change in the future as they will still continue with the old ways.
That poverty is really a problem that can't be wiped out from a century ago until now or even longer and it means that waiting until poverty cleared is such a waste of time. Technology must be developed with the cheapest possible to make those poor people could afford the technologies thus they can be getting involved into cashless society
