61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the discipline help in gambling? on: October 31, 2019, 10:24:48 PM
You can't just force yourself to control your gambling attitude.
You have to develop a your everyday habits first so that this becomes something natural for you.
This might take time though.

So... you need time and also experience plays a big role.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: October 31, 2019, 08:31:13 PM
The Grincoin price has fallen over months, and now it stays around 10k satoshis. As theymos predicted at very weeks after Grincoin born, its price fell within its first year, and now we see Grincoin has been unsignificantly fluctuated about 10k satoshis. The range of price is good enough for accumulators, IMO.

What do you think about the temporary price of Grin coin and what do you think about future rally and growth of Grincoin?

I believe it will all depend on how famous GRIN can get.
With the inflation being forever stable, we can't hope for the inflation to fall low enough to reach a level which can be supported by the community's interest level.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - DPoS with Dynamic Fees 🔹 New CORE v2🔹 ARK Deployer 🔹 on: October 31, 2019, 08:12:12 PM
What is changing with multipayments in 2.6 compared to what already exists?
I've seen that all ARK Delegates are sending multiple payments at the same time already.

I guess you are talking about the voter rewards?
The delegates are using scripts. These are not multi payments, but multi transactions.

With multipayments you can send multiple payments in only 1 transaction. Which saves a lot on transaction fees.
Also, this is more available to the end user, without using any scripts.

It also makes life easier for those that share out dividends to specific addresses. I'm really happy about this update.

Right, now it makes sense!
So, I suppose the blockchain will support multiple receiving addresses inside one transaction and every node will know how to translate this code.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to buy Bitcoin from Bittrex using their API and Python? on: October 31, 2019, 07:48:59 AM
try going through the trust link i posted above. it belongs to the user who opened up bittrex announcement on bitcointalk.

Hello, sorry for going off-topic here but I'd like to note for everyone who were not acting in the crypto back in 2017, that those trust scores are 2 years old and during a period many exchanges had similar problems.
Some exchanges couldn't hold the network traffic and their front end was failing, others could not process verification of users fast enough because of the huge influx of new users.
At the same time, scam artists were popping up in big numbers, trying to take advantage of both newbies and exchanges.

It's just my personal opinion when I'm saying this, but I wouldn't be bothered too much from the issues of that time.
Just be careful no matter what exchange you're using and don't store big amount of money there
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont break rules while trading on: October 31, 2019, 07:31:24 AM
4. Never love any asset, emotional trading will kill your investment.

I lol'd with that last rule, it's the only one I have yet to master!
Oh the NVDA stocks I have kept, removing the "Take Profit" stops before they are hit or buying the stock a few days after I've sold it! And this because I love the brand.

Thankfully, I don't have this problem with altcoins, I've been quick to sell them when I see hints of trouble like the team acting unprofessionally, security issues (XVG being the best example), or goals not being meant repeatedly.

Bitcoin is a safe bet though, you can't go wrong loving it and holding it. Cool

@theskillzdatklls
I was going to say that your current player base should be the main factor regarding implementing a poker game or not, but you said that first!

What sounds strange to me is that poker is hard or nearly impossible to make probably fair? Why is that?
I understand it'd take time for a player to verify a game if they have to check every card opened in a single game, but shouldn't it be possible to do?

Is there an issue regarding when the validating key is provided? Like, if you let everyone know this key too early in the game, someone would be able to decipher it and learn what other cards are in play? Is this the problem with poker being provably fair?

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 30, 2019, 11:06:20 PM
This is XRP speculation thread, not "crypto purity beauty contest"...if you don't like it, you can still
use it to buy whatever "pure crypto" you like, even China centralized BTC

Point is it makes no sense to compare the TPS of ripple to crypto. It's not comparable. And there is no point in doing it because it means nothing.

Its not TPS, its TPD (real, not theoretical)

Translation please?
My guess would be "Transactions Per Second" and "Transactions Per Dollar", though I'm not so sure my guess on TPD is correct.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 30, 2019, 11:04:14 PM
4-10% isn't bad but still not sure that's worth the risk, and if you have to lock up the coins for a term that's even less attractive. Still, if you've got your stash might be a good way to park it for the future.

Quote
While some chains may allow users to “un-stake” their coins instantaneously — but forfeit any unclaimed rewards — others may entail a mandatory lockup period that renders funds illiquid and could lead to missed active investment opportunities.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/binance-research-ethereums-switch-to-staking-will-transform-industry

Is the 32 ETH minimum an official fact?
This is a big requirement which shuts out a lot of people... it's not like Ethereum (or any cryptocurrency) is a safe investment for a common person to put such a large sum of their savings in it.

The 4% sounds a fair amount, if it was too high it'd mean too much inflation. But if the requirement for 32 ETH is official, then that's too little for the risk one would take.
Then again, what was I expecting? These rules are written from the ones controlling the highest amounts, ofcourse they'd go with whatever suits them best, locking out of block rewards the small fishes and grab a larger part for themselves.
70  Economy / Reputation / Re: ★ Alarming information about the crypto exchange "crex24" ★ on: October 30, 2019, 10:47:09 PM
Being that Crex24 is officially the exchange with the highest number of dead & scamcoins (yes, they've managed to beat Yobit), and that they've taken no steps to remedy anything, it's time to kick this up a notch:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=929

Blaming exchanges for what they list is just stupid.
Or maybe it is YOU who is just stupid. Go away with your wanking shitposts and let the adults handle life.

wow someone had a bad day! Lips sealed
Not sure why you're being rude or why did you crop part of my post, leaving out my reasoning and points, but sure... open a flag against them.
I've never had any issue with them nor did I lose money, so I won't support this flag. If you have had a bad experience with them, then fight against them.
But please act like an adult since you're calling yourself one and be more polite, people don't have to fight each other when they just have different opinions.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 28, 2019, 09:56:42 PM

Good times to buy and hold XRP  Grin  Cool

Now that I see this chart, I notice for how little time XRP the orange and green lines stay close to each other, then the orange line skyrockets. This is when XRP outperforms BTC and this usually brings it to market cap position 2.
Think this is happening again? I do!
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 28, 2019, 09:16:56 PM
Ready to see a new wave of growth? China has a good attitude to ethereum and I'm sure they will support the project very well.

Either this, or they'll create their own Ethereum-like blockchain like they're doing with every little thing that exists!
Then they'll ban Ethereum and force the usage of their own product because... censorship and propaganda!
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BEAM | Mimblewimble | Private | Scalable | No ICO | No Pre Mine on: October 28, 2019, 08:47:18 PM
Another week, a lot of achievements and a strong spirit! This is Beam! https://beamprivacy.substack.com/p/beam-2019-week-43-zk-proof-amsterdam

Good job with the adoption, but those small collaborations are easy to be made.
I hope you can achieve something bigger, with a company that is not just desperate to get known through you.
74  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: October 28, 2019, 12:55:10 PM
Update, the withdrawal went though and has now been sent to pending.
I did a 500x hit on the slots.
I guess mintdice is processing all the transactions manually,so worth to wait for that 500x reward.Picking up the high priority fee will make things much faster!
I think manually is a common concept in casinos, there has been a lot of people who have abused the automatic system with the double spending method of nonconfirmation with zero fee etc etc which goes back to the sender because the fee is not enough and it is not getting picked up by the blocks.

It means if casinos let the automated withdraw work, they would see the money coming in and then they would credit the gambler and if they lose they get their money back anyway, if they win they both get their money back plus the wins. Hence the automated system doesn't really work anymore, maybe if the confirmation process takes longer, like takes 3 confirmations to get credits but that would mean gambler can't gamble right away and their gambling hype may die.

What you're describing is called double spending.
It can happen if a blockchain forks/splits into two chains for a little time before one of the two chains becomes invalid, usually because an entity takes over 50% of the consensus of the network.

This is something every unlikely to happen with Bitcoin.

Also if a transaction is canceled because it was sent with too low fees, then it has never been confirmed and there's no reason any company would credit you the amount of an unconfirmed transaction.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 27, 2019, 07:29:47 PM
Hopefully the price will hit around $0.35 within a few days at the current rate of increase

Currently, ripple is trading at 0.29$ it can reach 0.35$ because bitcoin price is increasing so those who are holding ripple till December of 2019 because analysts predicted that it will go to1.2$ by the end of this year.

$1.20 seems far too optimistic a price for end of year 2019, I doubt that will happen

Maybe they'll make a deal with Santa in order for him to manage to buy all the toys quicker and have them delivered all around the world!?
That'd help the price I suppose.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: October 27, 2019, 07:23:50 PM
@Febo. Half of that if on $0.50 hehe. Also, I speculate that Grin's pump on the next bitcoin all time highs might not be as strong as some of the coins, for example Aeon.

Grin might be a slow and stable accumulation of value, I reckon.

Well holding always pays off at the end. But thing is that no mater how bad emission looks now there is actually high chance to profit in short 2 years.  I personally dont buy to sell. I buy to spend.  And I dont plan to spend much in next 10 years. So this two years dont matter that much to me personally. But It was just something that crossed my mind yesterday.

"Always" except the last year?
I have a portfolio with only altcoins which has lost 60% value in comparison to Bitcoin... meaning that if I was holding 1 BTC of value in altcoins in January, my altcoins are now worth 0.40 BTC.
You just need to know when to hold and when to trade, maybe buying again lower; it's better to live and fight another day!

But.... I'm a bit too lazy to do that so I'm just holding as well! Roll Eyes
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 27, 2019, 12:39:49 PM
I don't see any import at changes in the Istanbul update for us end-users, unless ofcourse I'm missing something.

So they're increasing the fees for "recalling data from the blockchain"... whatever that means (I hope it won't affect every little historic call).
They're also making some changes that make some kind of authentications by applications quicker.
No algorithm change.

Anything else that's important?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] We Built The Platform First, Then Blockchain [POW/POS/MN] DIY Tube Coin on: October 26, 2019, 01:03:25 PM
I was looking for a specific video in one of my YouTube playlists today... 1/4th of the videos I have bookmarked are removed or their accounts have been removed!
The older a video is, the more likely it is to not find the video anymore.
This is just ridiculous!

I don't know if DIY Tube can succeed, it looks like it's more focused on the coin and blockchain part than the quality of the service (ironically, the opposite of what the thread title states); but we really need an alternative to YouTube's monopoly.

We spent two years working on DIY Tube Video Community first and foremost. Yes, right now we are working on the blockchain. That is taking a lot of time. But the blockchain and DIY Tube Coin will put money back into your pockets. This was planned from the start and is a vital part of our company and design. Without the coin, you cant get paid. We are waiting on the exchange to list us. Could be today or tomorrow. That means that you will be able to withdraw your earnings and pay your bills.

The situation you describe is a big part of the reason I founded DIY Tube in the first place. I have over 125,000 subs and have seen a lot of bad stuff on YT. Many content creators are suffering now, myself included.

I have my over 2,400 videos on DIY Tube myself. I stopped making YT videos 6 weeks ago and am going all in on DIY Tube now. I plan to make DIY Tube a place to earn money, hopefully for myself as well through video views.

I have big plans and improvements for DIY Tube coming soon, once the blockchain work is done.

(edit) one of which is a massive marketing campaign when we are done with the blockchain. At that time our project will be complete.

You may want to tell your Subscribers that you have finished on Youtube. It's just a matter of common courtesy to do so. You just dont do that, leaving them without an explabation. Tell them whats happening. Some actually care about you. God knows why. You need to develop your public relations. However, I feel it's too late.

When you plan to stop posting on a social media, you're putting forth an announcement to let everyone know? Huh
Many have stopped from YouTube without saying anything about it, I don't see a need to publish a video about it, especially if the other platform is not ready yet.

You couldn't afford to fly anyone anywhere with the 5 cents you have in your bank account.
If you're such a bad ass that is so outraged by what's happened, why don't you fly over there and kick down the door instead of begging others to do it for you.

I only had 2k stolen. I'm not going spend 4k to fly to that third world country just to try and get back half of what I lost. Now for you cowards that live near the building  you should be knocking down the door and taking bats to them. You just sit there and do nothing. Youre just useless cowards.

Furthermore I'm not begging anyone to do anything. I'm stating what a person who lives close by should be doing.  If you want to be a useless coward and drive by just looking at them then thats your cowardly way of handling things.

It was not that huge of a company to have a crowd of people living near them.
Crypto itself is not mainstream yet, few of these users were trusting Cryptopia, even fewer were stupid or unlucky enough to hold big amounts in an exchange's wallets, and even fewer were unable to withdraw within the time they enabled withdraws.
So, if you and 3 or 4 other foreign people would go to a company's building with bats on your hands, congratulations to you! I wouldn't be so brave to do that.

Well, I certainly hope you'll succeed on your goals, but since your goal is to sell your services to the end-users, you'll need a better UI than what you have in both "beauty" and simplicity.
Right now it feels more like 2000-2010 year website.
