781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BEAM | Mimblewimble | Private | Scalable | No ICO | No Pre Mine on: February 19, 2019, 11:17:06 AM
BEAM is traded in so few exchanges and all of them small... I don't understand why GRIN is taking all the love!
Personally, as an investor at least, not as a user, wouldn't call one better than the other. Both coins have equally good potential and many similar features. Where's the hype BEAM community? Cheesy
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: February 19, 2019, 11:01:48 AM
More than 10% inflation for the next 10 years, more than 5% inflation for the next 25 years. This was made for the purpose of stability and to bring down volatility. Considering that grin might never have bitcoin's level of adoption in the next 10 years, grin's move will be predominantly on a low volatility line going down.

I reckon grin's development team were very serious when they said that this will not be a get rich quick coin.

Grin isn't for getting rich quick.

Source https://github.com/mimblewimble/docs/wiki/Monetary-Policy

Respectfully asking... do you know what inflation means? Since GRIN has a steady emission, it CAN NOT have a steady inflation percentage for 10 or 25 years.
After 1 year GRIN will be increasing its supply by 0.0792% monthly, or roughly by 0.9% between year 1 and year 2. That's a long cry from the "10% for the next 10 years".

A more detailed approach,

You cant compare price I think. Because Ravencoin have max supply coins and Grin dont have. Crin is interesting for sure... but unlimited coin a little scares...

But Ravencoin won't hit the max supply for over 20 years... to be honest I'm bored to calculate it exactly with the halvings that will occur.
I calculated the today's monthly inflation of Ravencoin and Grin,
  • Grincoin adds 2.201% more coins every month and it's about 13 days old.
  • Ravencoin adds 0.0776% more coins every month and it's 13 months old.

In 1 year the stats will look like that,
  • With 32,713,560 GRIN in circulation, there will be a 0.0792% monthly emission, that will be very similar to Ravencoin's 1 year.
  • With 5,411,920,000 RVN in circulation, there will be a 0.0399% monthly emission.

But what I'm most interested to compare is the emission after RVN halves the rewards.

These will be the emission rates 4 years after the genesis block of both coins (January 2023 for GRIN and January 2022 for Ravencoin). Both chains will be at block 2,100,000 after 4 years.
  • GRIN will have 126m coins and the steady block reward will be equal to 0.0206% monthly inflation at that time.
  • RVN will have 10.5b coins but the block reward will be halved to 2500 thereafter. This means 0.0103% monthly inflation (after the halving).

It seems to me that for the first 4 years both coins have a very similar inflation pattern. By the end of 4 years both coins will be at a very low 0.02% / month.
However, after that Ravencoin will start halving (every 4 years) and the inflation rates of the two coins will start diverging until after maaaaany years RVN won't be able to halve any more.
The question is, how important will this 0.01% difference be when it takes place in 4 years? How will all the other factors weight in (recognition and acceptance, usability, technical advancements, investors' liking)?
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 18, 2019, 09:43:54 PM
Not only Ethereum, but also the whole crypto market moved up.
Bitcoin, and some top altcoins recovered well and fastly recent days.
I believe that we have come closer to the end of bearish market.
Bullish market will be hit soon.

Ethereum made the start this time, which is a little bit unusual. Normally Bitcoin moves first and the others follow.

Nah... ARK made it... since 8/2 it's on fire. I don't know if it'll replace Ethereum in the future, but their technology is pretty amazing, I guess people started noticing. Let's hope that sooner or later they'll build DAPPS on it too.
But I don't believe there's such thing as "x coin moved first and dragged the rest with it".

Probably just some pump and dump group from Korea..or in the best case some massive investors from Korea are buying in..but seems like today's monday is a green day for cryptoland. Smiley

This is the second time ARK pumps in a short time frame. Last week it was pumped too? Can't remember quite right.

It's the 3rd spike.
1st was on 8/2,
2nd was on 10/2,
3rd was yesterday, 17/2
785  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Crex24.com - Cryptocurrency Exchange [Official Thread] (Fiat deposit/withdrawal) on: February 18, 2019, 03:36:11 PM
Hello, I would like to ask if how much is the limitation for withdrawal if my crex24 account is not KYC verified?
Do I have a chance to withdraw my coins out from the exchange site without KYC verification? I'm not living on EU I'm from Philippines?

I'm not verified and that's what I get in the withdrawal page,

Fee:
0.00100000 BTC

Minimum withdrawal amount:
0.00150000

Maximum withdrawal amount:
31.50000000

You guys have so many coins and token pairs, I'd say you're a worthy replacement to Cryptopia. You even offer fiat trading which they didn't.
I don't understand why you don't have more volume than what you have.

because not even notice by chinese.

do better marketing will make it better.

I think Koreans dump more money into crypto than Chinese... it used to be Chinese I believe until their government started banning crypto. I guess they're still buying but in black markets.
In any case, Crex24 is translated in both Chinese and Korean and many other languages.

I don't know how accurate this is: https://coinlib.io/coin/ARK/ARK
But it shows that most money came in from Korea, 13.54 million KRW it says, though that's only 12000$.
The buying also occurs around the same time, which would be 7:00-9:00 am in Korea.

Did the ARK team visit Korea? Grin

I doubt that 12000$ is enough to increase the price that much.

I know, which seemed strange to me as well and that's why I said "only"... but today I checked again and it was 13.54 million worth in EURO in KRW.
I've set Euro as my personal currency so the site is translating everything in € , I hadn't notice that the KRW influx was also made into EUR.

My initial post is now corrected, sorry for the mistake!

P.S. the only thing that is missing from the pictures uploaded by cestmoi is "office space for rent" LOL
You realise its a 4 story building right?

Hmm, awkward.  "Let's leave the ground floor empty so no-one walking past thinks there's any work being done here."

Based on this picture you can actually see the plastic wrap on the ground and a glass divider wall is being put in... suggesting renovations... so again, wrong.

You guys make this way too easy.

renovations? so it's taken already, a new renter will occupy...

who would renovate a crime scene unless it is not a crime scene anymore?

Or maybe they had a huge income of money from... "somewhere"... and they decided to renovate the place! Wink /jk

Let us note that in New Zealand it's hardly Monday right now, so going crazy with theories after 1 day has passed since they returned to the building is unnecessary (though it's fun)!
789  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: February 18, 2019, 10:51:02 AM

Over on the left hand notice how google thinks Cryptopia is Closed Permanently??

Google maps is like Wikipedia. Anyone can edit it.

Yep... and as a matter of fact I just requested an edit as well, to make the place "open" again.
Probably some trolls decided to mark is as permanently closed and if enough people request it and the place is not reserved by the actual company, then Google Maps' algorithm dims the change correct.

Strange, I've checked and bcrypt.dll is in the supposed position (C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcrypt.dll).
Could this be a inability from the miner to access this dll or the problem is that the CUDA drivers can't access it?

Restart and running as administrator didn't fix it on Windows. I guess Linux will be fine.

ARK could team up with Duality using BDAP.

https://duality.solutions/

 Huh
Please specify if this is announced somewhere, if it's a rumour or....... a wish of yours!
Your statement is not clear.

Huge spike again today, be ready for orc invasion from FOMO people! Roll Eyes

Kinda felt mad to see ARK going up though... I wanted to keep buying cheap coins with my mined GRIN! Oh well... Undecided
794  Economy / Marketplace / Re: For god's sake, stop lestening to mainstream Media and wake up people... !! on: February 16, 2019, 10:20:15 PM
Jim Cramer pumping Nvidia's stock, then dumping everything saying it's overpriced
Now he has probably bought again because he said the bottom was set.

This situation is not specific to crypto, this is how they get rich, it's the people's fault that listen to these guys.
795  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Please be CAREFULLY using trading polish platform Bitbay.net on: February 16, 2019, 09:54:26 PM
I'm sorry for the trouble you got into and thanks for letting the rest of the community know.

Next time, please search for reviews on an exchange before you send such big amounts... or don't send big amounts in one go!
I briefly checked their site and I'm 99% sure it's a scam... USDC? Another "stablecoin" of their creation... Why? Only one possible reason... they can manipulate the market by issuing as many USDC they want so long there are people willing to buy trade with this.

no more darma give us the last word what the fuking going on  Angry Angry Angry

Be patient, the police just let them enter the building. They'll soon pack things up, travel to a distant island with "hacked" coins, and post an apology! Roll Eyes

Jking... I believe they were incompetent to make a secure exchange, not that they stole the coins.

I don't understand why you made a Reddit-like forum when there's Reddit already!
You said you don't like how the community is in "Reddit, Twitter & here on Bitcointalk", but that's just how the majority of the crypto-community is after it went viral. Making a new medium won't solve that problem because if it gets attention, the same community you hate will rush in there as well.
799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: February 16, 2019, 05:27:31 PM
A new listing for Grin; GRN has been listed at Poloniex.

Not yet announced on Poloniex official channels! Grin

An official announcement by Poloniex on Grin listing: https://medium.com/circle-blog/poloniex-welcomes-grin-commits-to-share-transaction-fees-for-1-year-d07bc92cc0f8

That's the "Polo effect"! Grin

Since GRIN is already listed in Bittrex, I wouldn't expect a listing in Poloniex to have much of an effect. This 10% seems to be all.
Poloniex was always giving me a feeling of being scummy, I can't recall why though because I haven't used them for a year now! Cheesy
