Hello. I'm coming here as a gamer and not as an investor.
Is there anything built on ENJIN which I can try/play right now?
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: May 28, 2019, 11:34:47 AM
With mixing services closing one after the other (first Bitmixer, now BitcoinBlender), I believe we'll see a surge to GRIN as it looks to have unmatching anonymity which cannot be tempered.
Technically the price looks good for an uptrend to start as well.
504  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Blender, anonymous bitcoin mixer on: May 28, 2019, 11:32:57 AM
And what is wasabi? Other than the Japanese green paste I eat on my sushi, googling "wasabi software" didn't bring me anything relevant, though there were too many results to check them all.
This.

Personally however I don't agree with any service which helps hide criminal actions; sure mixing services have more uses than just helping criminals but ... I don't really know how to feel about this situation.
This is nonsense. True criminals can use other methods to have much stronger anonymity. What they mix with mixers is not what they really need to hide. Making mixers illegal harms the non-criminal more than the criminal.

True criminals will run his own mixer, hidden from the public. They are not interested in profit through fees.

It's not about profits, I was not talking about this kind of criminal actions.
Bitcoin is used in the Dark Web's black markets to purchase hacking services, drugs, illegal pornography and many other unthinkable things, if you don't know about it then Google it, it's an interesting subject (though it's also a scary one).

And running your own mixer is not really a solution, if all you're mixing is your own transactions or if a bunch of criminals come together to mix their transactions, it would only get easier for them to get caught.
I don't know what "other methods" could someone use as Lauda mentioned, maybe non-BTC methods? I would guess that moving fiat around would be more anonymous... the only BTC method I can think of is mixing... or use GRIN I guess?
505  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Blender, anonymous bitcoin mixer on: May 28, 2019, 10:09:48 AM
These mixers really should public their code online. That would make it relatively easy for clones to pop up and someone with better opsec might pick it up one day. In the meantime, use Wasabi.

And what is wasabi? Other than the Japanese green paste I eat on my sushi, googling "wasabi software" didn't bring me anything relevant, though there were too many results to check them all.

I'm sure people will eventually come up with something else which will be harder to bring down, after all FIOD did the community a great gift by seizing the bestmixer's domain and letting everyone know they're not safe and that they should build a counter.
They could have keep the mixers running as honeypots and grab the criminals when they though they were safe, it'd probably take a long time for people to realise that these services were compromised.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Happy accidents on: May 27, 2019, 09:25:13 AM
My best accident that gave a good result in gambling was on a poker game. I hit all in button accidentally while I had a hand of 2 and 3, there were 4 players call my all in and they had better cards than mine but fortunately I won the game with a four of a kind (3). It was happened on a fiat poker game though but I won decent amount of money at that time.

If this really happened and if it would be clipped in a YouTube video, you'd make some extra cash from YouTube as well!
I would like to see the others' reactions! Cheesy
507  Economy / Gambling / Re: CrashBot - 3% Daily profit (Money Back guarantee!) on: May 27, 2019, 09:21:04 AM
Kinda tempting to invest.
What is investors guarantee that your not gonna run away with our funds?
Can you provide reviews from Bitcointalk member that they successfully invest and got returns?
It will make your crashbot more reliable if you will be able to provide reviews.

I don't think that prior reviews are going to guarantee you anything.
Look at Cryptopia for example... no one had lost money by depositing to them until one day a lot of people did lose money!

Personally testing something with small amounts is usually the best strategy (aka "testing the waters").
However, be aware that even in those cases there are some scam services (I'm not talking about CrashBot here) which will operate normally and reward users with small accounts and when someone deposits a bigger amount they lock their account. This is a usual strategy of scam exchanges.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: May 27, 2019, 08:46:18 AM
XRP is taking a little damage from this BTC pump. Even though XRP is more than five years old, it's acting like a typical shitcoin right now. Roll Eyes

XRP is third biggest crypto in the world by market capital.

It is not performing yo-yo style ups and downs like ETH and BTC has been in the past. It is a stable crypto.

I cannot agree that XRP is stable, it was the most pump coin in 2017 but it's only carrying $.40 price now while it's ATH was $4 if I'm not mistaken.
It has its pump and dump in the past also, nothing is really stable in this market IMO.

The ATH was a momentary $3.40, but let's not blame people's greed and FOMO to a "pump and dump" scheme.
People sent every coin absurdly high, especially XRP was the top performing one (or rather, the most crazily performing one) and everyone was punished for their thoughtless actions.

Now we've seen the opposite of this, which is extremely low prices. Again people are selling their XRP for free when their value should be over $1.00 after the technological improvements and the deals Ripple has scored.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: May 25, 2019, 11:14:21 PM
It might be a good idea to convert XRP to Bitcoins and buy back lower :O

https://coincodex.com/article/3680/ripple-price-analysis-bearish-long-term-outlook/

The technical analysis works when the market consists of professional traders who all run mostly the same formulas and view similar signals, so when a famous technical method shows bearish signals it causes a short-term price drop and people self-fulfill their analysis.

This don't work as well in the chaotic cryptocurrency field which consists mostly by young people with minimal or even no investing experience.
You'd do better to ignore any technical analysis outlook, both the ones showing $100 XRP / $500,000 BTC and the ones showing $0.01 XRP / $500 BTC.

And don't forget that the ripple "foundation" still holds the majority of xrp and they will just continually dump it on the market.

Ah right, if you say so it must be true. I mean... there's no need for a source or proof! I tend to trust anything the random guys on internet are saying!

Thanks mate! I really appreciate your words!
Oh now I have obtained 6 merits this week, I guess the system works after all ... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Grin
512  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 24, 2019, 11:43:05 AM
Man, I tell you a secret: You can enjoy the forum without getting merits.
Talk for yourself, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms if I don't earn Merit for a day Tongue

@RivAngE: you should fix your quotes. Posting something without checking it doesn't look good, especially when you're complaining about Merit.

Whaaaat ? How did this happen to me? I always hit preview, then post, and then I check again... Huh Thanks for pointing it out.

Man, I tell you a secret: You can enjoy the forum without getting merits.
If you had a pretty active week and you got only 2 merit AND you complain, you have to blame yourself, not the merit system.
Otherwise, you should put more effort in what and how you write it, before calling the system vague.
Allow me a little bit of self promotion, that is my story, but actually it's full of other people out there with similar ones.

Don't take me wrong, I don't want to post in the forums BECAUSE I want to get merits or BECAUSE I want to get paid signature posts.
I want get paid for signatures BECAUSE I would be posting either way and I like being merited BECAUSE people like my posts... it's a matter of feeling the achievement!
By the way (a bit offtopic), it was like 2 weeks ago when I missed a weekly signature payment (worth about 40$ after the price hike) for just 1 less post!!! My point is, I'm involved in the forums without counting my postcount or even my merits. So your "secret" is something I already know! Cheesy

However, I can't help the feeling of discouragement when I don't see my merit count increase with the rate I was expecting it to after I've put so much effort... but I guess I might have too high expectations! Grin
Some of my posts took me about an hour because I was researching a matter and double-checking info from different sources before I post, so if after a day when I check the replies in this thread I see 0 merits, I'm thinking to myself "Didn't anyone appreciate this?"

I'm sure you're putting even more effort into your own posts, I believe you deserve your merits and even more than what you have, but I'd like to avoid comparisons to any other user, I don't want to fight with anyone about who is better or who deserves what! <3
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright recognised by US Govt as Satoshi, author of white paper on: May 24, 2019, 07:52:07 AM
I did not realize until reading the responses on this thread that in fact there are so many Craig Wright supporters. It is incredible to be honest,,, that we have people like him and he actually has followers.

I do not know why people talk about real Bitcoin and fake Bitcoin and the true vision. BSV is Craig Wright vision, so okay, go ahead. Why need to name it Satoshi vision and claim to be Satoshi when he has no need for that? Why make claims and then never do what will make everybody believe without a doubt?

Very smart people who follow him, but no common sense. I am not a smart guy at all, but my common sense tells me,,, CW is a publicity seeker. Satoshi avoided publicity.

A possible explanation is that Craig was one of the group members known as Satoshi Nakamoto, he could be the only one still alive or still active in the ecosystem so there's no one else closer to being Satoshi.
If he was the only single identity known as Satoshi though, he would have sold 100% of the Bitcoins in the Satoshi's wallets since he's calling those BTCs fake/SigWit/Core and would have bought BSV.

To be honest I haven't done my own research as to which addresses are owned by Satoshi, but I believe that if Craig had moved funds from those addresses then no one would doubt him.

For me personally though, even if he would prove he's Satoshi or if he was 50% or 25% of the Satoshi group wouldn't make a difference. I don't follow a name but an idea.
Satoshi introduced a great concept and a revolutionary payment system. If he would turn into a madman, I wouldn't keep following everything he says because he is Satoshi.
One correct action doesn't make anyone's future actions correct as well.

Looks like you’ve got quite a bit of reading and catching up to do … satoshi has 2016 merits, which are really totally irrelevant in the big picture of things, so how exactly are you on the same group?

You are on the other hand in a larger group of 2.591.651 existing accounts – 28.340 (earned) merited accounts = 2.563.311 accounts that have 0 earned merits …

Edit: Well, now you've abandoned the communards group and entered the group of those that have earned 2 merits or more: 17.419 accounts in that group. Quite a leap …

LOL this deserves a merit for making me laugh! Cheesy
Which by the way shows how vague the merit system is. Some posts are merited because they are funny, some because they are informative, some because they have a lot of effort put into them even though they might not be as useful, some because we agree with the content of the post which might be a hateful post against a coin we also happen to hate!

I had a pretty active week this time, and all I got was 2 merits? Man... I feel like this shit is getting harder and harder by the day!
516  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SERIAL TRANSLATOR AND SCAMMER MULTI ACCOUNTING AFTER EXPOSED on: May 23, 2019, 11:54:30 AM
Right... can you remove the negative feedback for me though?
It seems you missclicked my profile instead of someone's else because all the links, accusations and alt-accounts you're mentioning have nothing to do with me. For example I am Greek kai mporo na to apodikso grafontas se Greeklish pou den ta paragei kamia mixani metafrasis.

I'm not in the above list of this thread either.

But since you don't seem to be active anymore, can at least any moderator remove false trust feedback? It shouldn't matter anyway since he's a newbie but... what the hell! It's annoying!
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright recognised by US Govt as Satoshi, author of white paper on: May 23, 2019, 11:45:08 AM
Well speculate no more lofty platitude wielder, you'll figure out far more if you follow your own advice. Who told you it was "meaningless" or did you imagine it? Why did they tell you it was meaningless? What was their *motive* for doing so. Guys need to start thinking for yourselves and doing the research... *YOURSELF* you won't always get the facts laid out on a plate for you, but here this one's for free...

https://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap4.html#411

"(b), no civil action for infringement of the copyright in any United States work shall be instituted until preregistration or registration of the copyright claim has been made in accordance with this title."

Do you understand now why he applied for registration?... It's a necessary pre-requisite before taking legal action.

Trust, but verify.

That way you find out how you can trust later. It's how you build reputation, a network built around honesty. Otherwise you have to verify everything all the time which is totally unpractical. Kinda like Bitcoin.

Maybe I'm stupid and if that's the case, I apologise for it, but I don't understand what does your statement proves.
From what I understand, this is what happened in a timeline,
  • Hodlonaut reportedly starts #CraigWrightIsAFraud on Twitter
  • Craig puts a bounty to whoever finds Hodlonaut's real identity (democracy at its best)
  • Vitalik referred to Craig as a scammer and as a fake publicly (more than once!)
  • Craig's lawyers send a Letter of Claim to Vitalik asking him to back out of his comments, apologies publicly and admitting that Craig is Satoshi Nakamoto
  • Vitalik ignores the Letter
  • Craig's lawyer are legally allowed to sue Vitalik after the Letter's deadline
  • [Personal Guess] Craig asks his lawyers to pursuit a legal suit against Vitalik but they advice him that he doesn't have a chance to win a suit if first he doesn't apply for the copyright
  • [Personal Guess] The next news we'll hear will be a suit against Vitalik who doesn't accept him as Satoshi which is the title he's trying to copyright

I don't know what Craig is trying to achieve, but just think of why would he want to know Hodlonaut's identity? He wouldn't send a hitman after him I hope. He probably wanted to sue Hodlonaut for calling him fraud.
Since this didn't work out, he decided to go after a man who's identity is known and who has also publicly called him fraud; and that's Vitalik.
To me, Craig seems desperate to pursuit a legal action of some sort. Maybe he's hoping to at least win an apology for the damage that was caused to his image so that he can twist this into "I won a legal suit, I am recognised as Satoshi"?

Thank you Hhampuz for always being fair and transparent in your campaigns! You could have lied by saying they hadn't sent you this week's payment yet and keep the BTC for yourself, but you didn't.
777coin is the first campaign of yours I've joined and I'm glad to work you.
519  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 📣📣📣 [ANN] 👉 BESTMIXER.IO 👈 THE FUTURE OF BITCOIN MIXING! TECHNOLOGY IS HERE on: May 23, 2019, 08:12:23 AM
This is a real possibility - and makes you wonder if Chipmixer isn't already, or hasn't always been ran by some goverment agency.

This is also why some people recommend using multiple mixing services, one after another, but there aren't many mixing services which can handle a large amount of coins.

Or don't do any criminal business! Roll Eyes

I'm a bit mixed about this situation...
With the uncertainty around taxation of cryptocurrencies and the usual over-taxation which is put upon people for every action they do, having anonymity is appealing and great; I see it as a precaution to avoid a possible "legal theft" from governments.
On the other hand, people who deal on drugs, hitmen, c*** pornography or overall hurt other people, then those guys should be caught. No one should want them in the cryptocurrency world because they only make a bad name of it.
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright recognised by US Govt as Satoshi, author of white paper on: May 23, 2019, 07:37:05 AM
https://www.copyright.gov/press-media-info/press-updates.html?loclr=twcop

Quote
In the case of the two registrations issued to Mr. Wright, during the examination process, the Office took note of the well-known pseudonym “Satoshi Nakamoto,” and asked the applicant to confirm that Craig Steven Wright was the author and claimant of the works being registered. Mr. Wright made that confirmation.

We're just supposed to take his word for it? Cheesy

Anyone is free to claim they're Satoshi, but I prefer the "don't trust, verify" ethic. Craig Wright looks like any other wingnut filing a copyright claim.

What is the purpose of him claiming this?

That's what we're all trying to figure out. The copyright claim doesn't give him any authority or recognition, under the law or otherwise. His logic is probably something along the lines of, "If I say it enough times, some people will think it's true."

It was a formula to pump his shitcoin.
The formula is made of,
- many BSV shillers,
- a lot of stupidity for people to believe them without prior research,
- and a few opportunist traders who ride the fun and will hopefully get out before the price collapses.
