61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: November 23, 2014, 05:31:56 PM
Litecoin Difficulty:    49,818
Estimated Next Difficulty:    51,176 (+2.73%)
Adjust time:    After 1601 Blocks, About 2.7 days
Hashrate(?):    1,493 GH/s

Looks like another 100 GH/s added ...... Alpha testing even more vipers SmileySmiley

100 GH/s = monthly 213500$    fecking wenkers alpha t

Therein lies the rub. You give them the money to build them, and then they mine on them, dump the coins, and bring down the profitability. You get your miners, and your ROI has gone down the toilet. 10x hash-rate is meaningless. It just means they can dump 10x as many coins.

Don't worry, everyone, I know TheMightyX has had some issues recently which he's had to attend to, and so he hasn't been able to provide any updates. I've personally contacted him, and asked him to send over the next batch for giveaway distribution asap. The coin is alive, do not worry. There are big plans for PMC. I myself have been working on things behind the scenes. Hopefully when TheMightyX returns we can start putting out some updates.

I'm still around. Just waiting for TheMightyX to return. I'm working on some things myself in the meantime.

Perhaps if I torrented an up to date package of the block chain?

If that's of any use let me know.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Colossal Question? Who wants to help rebuild ColossusCoin? on: November 05, 2014, 02:38:14 PM
How functional is ColossusCoin? Can coins be sent/received?

If so, then it is possible to create a service that allows you to trade one coin for another. In this case, the old COL for the new coin. To resolve the issue of float, you can change the cap on the new coin, and send the user the % equivalent of the new coin, like for like.

So user A owns 0.0014% of COL cap. He sends those coins to the service, and receives 0.0014% of the new COL coin cap.

If you wanted to tweak it further by reducing/increasing the overall share, then you just add/remove a percentage multiplier to the percentage. So you could double their total share of all COL, or half it, for example.

This makes it entirely scalable and workable with any coin cap, and each user will get the same percentage share even if the cap of the new coin is much lower.

I'm not fully confident that it can be traded like that as of yet. Sudo and I have done tests over the last few months sending transactions and have seen instances where Col Coins were sent but not received. Zackclark70 was nice enough to put me in contact with the guy that did the swap service for ADT and he said he would do it for the same price as he charged Zack which was 3k USD but that was back in February/March and more expensive than it needs to be.

The cheapest option would probably be to use escrow, I'm pretty sure a few good escrow I have met would do it for some of the finished product where you send in your wallet.dat and it gets destroyed and in return you get an agreed upon amount of of new coins to the new wallet.

It would be good to first offer a Cryptocurrency in which offers an advantage to all holders and trade that for present ColossusCoins which are not being traded alongside other fiat currencies (all coins which are in peoples wallets off the exchanges). Once complete, we can decide how to handle the Coins on Cryptsy, the best option in my mind would be to have some kind of vote on the percentage to swap it over for or what kind of trade so that it becomes a choice but is beneficial for both sides since you have immediate and large distribution.

The step I am working on is first making sure the new structure is as well designed as possible so that it creates the very minimum amount of Bloat over time and fast connection/sync speed so that you can always connect a full node 1, 2, 5, 10 years down the line. I am very much a fan of Tranz work on HoboNickels, his design on the GUI is top notch and faster than BlackCoin. I would want to blend some of the elements of each into a Proof of Stake only environment with an easy to use layout of the wallet (as pictured earlier, based on WhiteCoin).

Why can't Col simply be forked to a working POS coin? Anyone who currently has cols would just use their current wallet.dat with the new wallet.

67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which programming language a good developer of crypto-currencies has to know ? on: November 03, 2014, 07:20:53 PM
I think most are written in C++/Qt

Thanks for your answer !
Any other langage, in your opinion ?

Nxt is written in javascript, tends to be a decent starting point if you want something other than c/c++ but I've heard about a lot of hacks and it's so overly complicated. Bitcoin, litecoin and most Proof of Stake coins are written in C/C++ which is just much easier to code with, less buggy.

NXT is written in Java, not Javascript. Despite the similar name, they're quite distinct languages.

Everyone knows that Javascript and Java are the same. Just like C, C++, C#, Visual C, and C-obol are all the same. Wink

Tsk. Trying to enrage the geeks.  Wink
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am new in coin developing, where to edit premine in code? on: November 03, 2014, 12:18:23 PM
You do this by modifying the block reward for the first x amount of blocks to have a higher amount of coins, then do the math and work out how many you need to mine to get your desired premined amount. You'll want to spread it across more than a few blocks depending on the difficulty target, otherwise you'll mine too many of the initial blocks too quickly.

Unless you don't mind going over the premine a little. In that case, just make the first block worth 99% of what you want your premine to be. Then mine it before releasing the wallet. Simple.

Christ, is ColossusCoin still not fixed yet? I've still got my dead wallet gathering dust on a backup drive.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Slander online, get sued on: November 01, 2014, 11:32:21 AM
In the same light, if scammers think they can protect themselves by threatening libel, think again.

If you have strong evidence someone is a scammer, don't be afraid to present your evidence. And I mean evidence, not FUD.

Because any scammer threatening with libel would also have every nook and cranny of their crypto affairs scrutinised. Think about that for a second. Don't be afraid to oust scammers, but at the same time, don't discredit people with false libellous claims.

Hey, if you have enough evidence and it's a true scam, sure definitely sue away.     So, why don't you?

You speaking generally, or me, specifically? If to me, specifically, the answer is; I have better things to do with my time. These boards are so scam ridden that It'd be like pissing in the ocean.

If you mean generally, then sure, why not? If you have strong evidence someone is a scammer, they're hardly going to sue you, are they? I agree that FUD and trying to destroy someone's character for other reasons is deplorable.

Which part of precedent do you not understand?   These are not internet rumors, it's been tried in court already.

Yeah, and who here thinks their crypto affairs are all legal and above board to drag it through court?  Roll Eyes

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New reputation system integration on bitcointalk. Questions for people. on: October 31, 2014, 10:06:44 PM

What about learning to trust people by talking to them and observe how they behave on the forum ?

The problem of a trust system is that people tend to believe it blindly.

Also when there is a trust system with points, you see plenty of attention-whores that want to collect points for the sake of it.

If it encourages more useful posts, then the ends justify the means. Provided spamming is discouraged or even punished by the system.

So, are there any slots left? Or am I just wasting my time with the sig?

It appears all slots are full and the op hasn't updated the thread title.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Creating an altcoin - services? on: October 29, 2014, 06:12:45 PM
Are they any good services around currently that offer the ability to create a scrypt altcoin for a fixed price? Or reputable devs?

Why do you need one more scrypt altcoin?

There are plenty, just make a thread in the marketplace but be careful not to get ripped off. I also don't see why we need any more crapcoins though. Is yours going to have anything unique or original?

Yes. It's going to be exclusively obtainable through a web-based game. It's not an IPO or gimmick. I just need a digital currency I can distribute automatically via the game, and as I have experience in coding with the bitcoind, a bitcoind-based coin is ideal. Doesn't need to be scrypt, but as I'm not trying to market this to investors/miners, it doesn't need anything fancy. It's just a payout/in-game purchase mechanism.

I really don't have any interest in trying to convince anyone it's the next big thing. It's just for fun.

Nullu, but then you most likely need a PoS coin, otherwise you need to put on some hash power to confirm transactions. If so, then take PPC code or NVC. Feel free to PM me should you have any questions on parameters. I believe it's not a big deal to adjust it to your needs.

How stable are the source for those coins? I know of a couple of POS coins that have ran into some difficulties. Have they been stable long-term? Or been fixed for common POS issues?
it depends on coin dev and coin source code
if you find a good Dev then you can get a perfect working POS coin also Dev will able to help you in future if any error occurs

Long term, I'm not too concerned. The hope is the project would be self-sustaining, however in the short-term, six to twelve months, a coin that works without issue would be preferable.

80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus Launch ~ New Features! ~ Oct Signup Free Distribution! on: October 28, 2014, 10:12:17 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm a Linux user and i think that there is one or two thing missing in the 'install_PreminePlus.sh' that can help other Linux users.
In:
Code:
echo "\n\ninstalling dependencies:\n"
sudo apt-get install qt4-qmake libqt4-dev build-essential libboost-dev libboost-system-dev \
        libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev \
        libssl-dev libdb-dev git

it miss libdb++-dev. If you don't add it, you'll recieve that kind of error : fatal error: db_cxx.h

Plus, it miss miniupnpc with an error like : miniupnp/minupnpc.h : file missing

i think you can add miniupnpd deposit with all deposit file, but the better way( not the easy one) is to download the latest miniupnpc at: http://miniupnp.free.fr/files/
And:
Code:

tar xzvf miniupnpc-1.9.20141027.tar.gz #it's the latest version today
cd miniupnpc-1.9.20141027
sudo -s
INSTALLPREFIX=/usr/local make install
exit

EDIT::
THE easy way:
Code:
sudo apt-get install libminiupnpc-dev # Maybe you'll need a reboot after that

I was unable to install PreminPlus-qt without this modification/installation;  with a classic ubuntu 14.10 installation

hope this can be helpful for someone

Drop me your PMP address in a PM. I'll send you a tip.  Smiley
