I don't understand why you don't allow scrypt but do allow sha-256 asic mining.

the logic seems perverted.

63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Official Lifeforce.info Pools Thread on: September 26, 2014, 09:42:40 AM
CIV

What is going on on http://civ.lifeforce.info/ ?!?

Mining from the beginning with 20mhs and I'm getting no ANY SINGLE COIN ?!??!

yes you do....

and by the way - just because you throw hash at a certain coin does not mean you're going to get any coins - if the pool you are mining in (regardless of whose pool it is) does not have enough combined hash to find blocks you are not going to earn any coins - you should take a look at the BLOCKS from time to time - if the pool your are mining in has not found any blocks in the last hour then you should make note of this and perhaps go looking for a pool that is finding blocks.

Of course I love to have your hash over at Lifeforce but I have notified a number of people that they are wasting their hashing power mining in a pool all by themselves when they did not not have enough hashing power to find even 1 blocks in 24 hours of mining - that's nuts.

for instance if the network hash is 2,000 Mhs and you are mining alone in a pool with 20 Mh/s then your changes of finding a block all by yourself in that pool are 1 in 100

if the pool has 100 Mh/s and the network hash is 2,000 then the chances of the pool finding a block are 1 on 20

do you get the picture?

You should also research the coin your are mining so that you know how many blocks per hour are minted and how many coins are awarded per block. The estimate given by the pool is just an 'estimate' and does not hold true if the pool does not find any blocks. The estimate can always vary from block to block because network hash varies from block to block with just about every coin. And some coins such as TAG coin don't even report Network Hash to that estimate IS TOTALLY USELESS!

just because you mine in a pool is NO GUARANTEE that you will get coins - it all depends on whether or not the pool has enough combined hash to find blocks.

My basic rule of thumb is 5% - I don't mine in pools that have less than 5% of the network hash. You can make your own decisions.

I do not know if you're the guy named : acimir who posted on the pool chat room that you did not have any coins but - I just checked the forum and you have 8,428.04515754 CIV coins mined, so I'm not sure here your were looking.

I hope this information helps you.

If the developer sorts the issues with this coin out... this coin has potential... if it drops to 10-50 satoshi I may gamble and buy some.  1 month from now it could look like this...

that's what I'm hoping for!!
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Thoughts on Price Stabilization Funds on: September 25, 2014, 09:12:57 PM
A few coins have been released where a percentage of the pre-mine was reserved for a 'Price Stabilization Fund'.

I have been working on the details for a new coin and I wondered about people's opinions on these type of  'Funds' as part of a new coin.

My thoughts are mixed because I basically like the idea however what I think people fail to realize is that your can't BUY a Coin with the exact same coin on any of the exchanges (Unless it's Bitcoin, Litecoin or a scant few others).

The Stabilization fund must actually sell some of the coins in order to acquire BTC to buy the coin back. This is great for the exchange but in reality I think it's drives the value down in order to drop it back up - thus negating the intent of the fund itself.

Ideas?
Thoughts?
Observations?

thanks in advance.

just a word of warning - when your release the source code - please make sure your client is not called litecoind - just went through that with another new coin and I dropped them like a hot rock.

No problem mate. Thank you very much for your word of advice. Smiley

sent you a PM mate - are you available to work on another coin with me?

I have one in the works.

in case you're wondering if any pool will be available I was wondering that also - since pool advertising is no longer permitted on the forums.

perhaps the Dev will update the OP - in the meantime take a look at my sig - I'll be mining this coin

sorry & best of luck

Check the block explorer?  about 616 in last 24 hrs

there should have been 640 according to your specs..

why wasn't there 640 blocks?

Great question... now I am curious to know why.
Do u really care how much blocks there? I sold my quatloo's ages ago, i'd rather buy XBC again than jump in this pit again. Who knows, what was the problem in transmitting the brain capacity from old generation to modern breed and dev's households

go for it - xbc dropped 25% over night...

Can I transfer coins from pool straight to Bittrex?

sure you can - you just put the coin deposit address generated by bittrex in your payout address on the pool
