61  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥 HugeWin.com Presents Mega Jackpot and Bonus Deals for Casino Lovers 🔥🔥 on: April 27, 2024, 02:41:09 PM
It looks like things are resolved on its own. I didn't change the browser, and literally nothing at all. I tried accessing the site on this morning and everything looks sleek now. My guess, the development team, probably testing something that caused me this.

You were not the only one, I had the same problem yesterday evening when I was switching between competitions in the Sports tab. I literally took minutes to load.
Whatever it was, it's all sorted now.

Does anyone understand the logic behind "Over (2)" bets in football? If this means more than 2 goals, then what's the difference between "over 2" and "over 2.5"? And if it means 2 or more goals, then how's that different from "over 1.5"? The odds are different for each.

Is this some sort of bug, or am I missing something?

It's not a bug. If a game ends up having exactly 2 goals, you usually get your money back for this event. If it scored over 2 goals, you get the win. It usually is lower odds compared to the over 2.5 option because there isn't a chance for a return on your bet since we don't count half a goal in football, if that makes sense.

In simpler terms, "over 2" = if goal is 3 or more, you win, and if it's exactly 2, you get your money back; "over 2.5" = if goal is 3 or more, you win with no chance of getting the money back option.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 27, 2024, 02:16:00 PM
This post was made on the 8th of April and from the turn of events in the both the EPL and the UEFA champions league, the supercomputer got the predictions wrong. While we've seen how impactful Artificial Intelligence is in transforming various sectors of the economy, they also have their limitations. Prediction are guesses, AI picks random data and comes up with a result. Looking at the EPL take right now, it'll take a miracle for Liverpool to win the league, the outcome of the above mentioned leagues is a good reason why we shouldn't base our gambling predictions on AI.

Supercomputers and computers in general rely on statistics and mathematics in order to get their predictions. These machines tend to forget to add in the human element in a lot of sports which is very crucial to the outcome of each match. Factors such as injuries and team morale are things that aren't easily expressed in math, so supercomputers won't be able to factor it in their computations.

I'd rather believe in my own predictions and be wrong rather than believe in AI predictions and be wrong without putting my input into any of the decision that was made.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should only hold Bitcoin on: April 27, 2024, 01:55:17 PM
I'm only ever interested in holding bitcoin long-term, but if I see a certain altcoin is promising in terms of its trading capabilities and the hype surrounding it, I won't mind riding it for profit and not for long-term. There are pro-bitcoin people out there that are also riding altcoin markets in order to increase their bitcoin stash, and I see nothing wrong with it. If it's something that people think can make them increase their hold in the bitcoin game, then that's respectable and understandable.

If you are holding only bitcoins, then the goal for you is to put in some more money in it and watch your holdings grow in value over time. But if you're like me who's also looking to be more 'involved' in the trading action all the while not wanting to use bitcoin, flipping altcoins can be a good alternative, just watch which coins will you be trading.
64  Economy / Economics / Re: Not your keys not your funds Banks on: April 26, 2024, 07:33:47 PM
Banks somehow offer you other services when you started an account with them and entrusted them with your funds. It's better compared to keeping cash to yourself. You can buy crypto and keep it yourself provided you know what you're doing, and you're sure that you won't be targeted for your funds. That's your keys and that certainly are your coins. Whatever happens to your funds are your sole discretion.

You can utilize banks for safekeeping and gaining access to other financial services that are otherwise beyond your reach if you decide to keep your funds yourself. Then again, if you really want to be sure that your funds will not be misused and you'd still gain something from it whilst being idle, buying crypto and learning how to safekeep it is one route.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has Satoshi's identity never been revealed ? on: April 26, 2024, 07:03:10 PM
He basically knows how to hide his identity unlike most of the users of tor. He probably got that covered even before considering using it as a means to hide his IP. With the way he crafted bitcoin, and based on what others have stated regarding its code, it's pretty evident that Satoshi has a very deep understanding of the internet and computers, so its highly likely that he also knows he's literally untraceable despite being seemingly 'close' to getting discovered by some of his close associates when he was still actively working in bitcoin.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Nassim Taleb's ideas useful in gambling? on: April 26, 2024, 04:22:33 PM
I know some of his words, but number 1 certainly resonates with me on a personal level.

I often get fooled by certain events that happened in succession with the same outcome thinking that all of it was forming a pattern of some sort. This is what I thought of in dice games but little did I know that these are nothing but random events forming similar outcomes. I thought for a second that I could make some money off it, and when it happened for 3 times, I was certain that the next roll would be in my favor (high). I went all in and bam, I just lost all my bankroll because it rolled low.

I'm pretty sure most of us here were deceived by randomness thinking it was a pattern forming before our eyes. Until now, I'm still making those assumptions, though I am very careful in my next steps because it could be something that I might regret again just like the last time I bet on it thinking it would be in my favor.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 26, 2024, 12:01:49 AM
Have you notice? In the streaming community, the influence of gambling is getting worse. Have you noticed that many streamers have started to stream gambling and promote it? Sad, but it's the reality. I'm noticing that the streamers I'd used to watch because of their gaming contents and also streams that they do while gaming are fading; they are focusing on and promoting gambling platforms, and the alarming thing is that those streamers used to have young viewers who also played the games they were streaming, and suddenly they left it all out and changed what they streamed, which was gambling.

Money always speaks louder!

This just sums it up.

Money will always speaks louder especially to those who have ambitions and want to do something with the money. Values and morals are thrown out the window by most people the moment they realize there is a huge money involved in the activity. This is the only motivation from streamers why they stream in the first place, and when the opportunity knocks, they for sure won't want to miss it. These streamers are streaming other things previously before they streamed casino games. They abandon their format because for sure, the money is good from these huge gambling companies.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you on: April 25, 2024, 11:53:29 PM
I wouldn't actively say that she needs to invest, but rather direct her into resources which will convince her on her own. If I will take the fall on her inability to handle her assets, I should also take some gains when she makes it through just so we are even on the risks that is supposed to be shouldered by her.

Imagine introducing a possible money maker to someone and they still want to get everything thinking that's how it works. These people don't deserve to get rich honestly, as they don't understand the risks and rewards.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blogs and Forums. Additional Features in Online Casinos on: April 25, 2024, 10:41:33 PM
Normally, I'd just go towards a forum such as bitcointalk when I want to learn more about gambling strategies, news, updates, and just to hang out. If the platform has a trollbox, that's more than enough for my consumption and I can get answers from the people or to the community moderators themselves directly in a fast and more efficient manner compared to forums. Blogs are okay too, but that's something I rarely read because if I want to get updates on a crypto casino, I'll just go here on this forum and get my questions answered if I have further questions on whatever update they may have for users.
70  Economy / Economics / Re: Starting a business without capital. on: April 25, 2024, 09:54:03 PM
Affiliatw marketing needs excellent advertisements in order to become successful. Do you think without advertisements, you can get your product known to people? You will have to pay for those ad space at some point or even build a website, and that itself cost money, too. Somewhere along the way, you will be needing to use some money to make progress in affiliate marketing, and being cheap about it won't let you go anywhere.

It's also worth noting that it takes time to build it. Your downtime not making money is actually costing you money as well, as you need to pay for your necessities before your product pays off.
71  Economy / Gambling / Re: More revelations on the challenges of physical casinos on: April 25, 2024, 09:09:53 PM
This doesn't only happen on physical casinos. There are online casinos that also require agents before a player can sign up and start betting. Basically any platform that requires an agent to start playing is prone to this kind of activity, so it's best to be weary against such platforms when you're looking to gamble. Though in most cases, online casino platforms tend to not really require agents and there are only few exceptions to this.

It's an incredible story that unfortunately seems like a real scam...I don't know how it works legal system in your country but this not seems a quick solution.
Also seeing the figure/amount spends, unfortunately it is not a small thing to lose such an amount and anyone would be angry

It's actually a quick solution no matter which way you put it, but certainly not a justifiable one especially in favor of the gambler who rightfully won the winning.

A similar case happened in Italy, but here the shopkeeper actually stole a winning ticket and then try cashed it himself Wink
Meanwhile he was famous at nation level, and he doesn't was able to cashout Roll Eyes

It's possible that they got this story publicized, although people would certainly have any other things to worry about and may have forgotten about this issue faster than expected.
72  Economy / Economics / Re: World price tag on every product. on: April 24, 2024, 11:53:50 PM
If that's the case, just imagine how developing countries would be able to afford certain goods. It's great for different countries to have their goods differently priced that is just appropriate for their economic power. It gives people a chance to live quite comfortably if their wages align with the goods of the products they need to buy to survive.

If each product around the world have the same price everywhere, just think of those countries whose minimum wage in a month isn't even enough to buy a gallon of milk in the US.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does the dumping of bitcoin-backed shares have effect on BTC's price? on: April 24, 2024, 10:09:34 PM
Why would it cause a dump in bitcoin anyway? Someone still bought those shares and MicroStrategy is still in business, not selling their bitcoins at all. If MS were to sell their coins after Saylor left, then that can potentially affect bitcoin as a whole. Then again, nothing of that magnitude happened. Besides, the guy is still into bitcoins. Whatever happened with him and the company, it's got nothing to do with bitcoin and will not affect it, that's for sure.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: April 24, 2024, 07:28:42 PM
As long as bitcoin keeps on posting new records, there will always be new investors willing to take their shot and make a profit. I doubt that the halving is the only motivation of new investors to buy into bitcoin, because if it is, then we should have had a huge sell-off by now that the halving has concluded. Most new investors are looking to buy into bitcoin for the long-term growth, and I doubt that they know full well the implications of the halving anyway if they just recently bought into bitcoin.

Should the 'new' investors sell their coins after seeing that the halving didn't live up to their expectations, that's good because it frees up more coins to the space for serious investors to pick up for long-term holding.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: April 21, 2024, 11:55:14 PM
Ready your horses, ESL One Birmingham is going to start in about 11 hours from now. The matches are all set and we're going to have a three-day group stages. Get ready for some Dota 2 actions again everyone.  Smiley

That's a lot of games in 3 days. I'm going to watch Falcons closely and see whether they can close this tournament in the top 3. They showed strong potential in the Elite League only falling behind XG who were the favorites to win. That's also a nice bracketing, and I have high hopes that this team can come out on top against SR, Talon, and BB. Liquid can honestly put up a fight or even shut ATF and his mates, but the rest of those teams can be easy work for Falcons and give them a better placement in the main stage.

Anyone betting on ESL One Birmingham tomorrow?

Its been a while since we have an offline tournament for dota2 but I doubt the group stage will start on stage immediately but its Falcons tomorrow for the opening game so it would be so weird not to bet on them when they are so dominant. Except for the fact that they lost to XG on The Elite League final  Roll Eyes but still they have been pretty good so far on the previous tournaments

Those odds are good. Definitely something that has a lot of value in the first day. BB is a strong team but I doubt they can handle Falcons when they gained momentum and held on to it until the end game.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of eSports Betting on: April 21, 2024, 08:06:19 PM
You can also blame the organizations and the tournament bodies themselves with such a decline in the esports scene. Most of them have resorted to greed, and only a small portion of the profits from these events actually go into the pockets of players. Even I as a player would surely be demotivated if this is what's happening in the scene wherein I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours just to be good at.
For sure to the largest extent I would blame the organizations because they have too large of a piece of the pie of the blame in this matter. For example making players too stressed and no longer interested in the game is a big issue because esport clubs don't have an agelong history and naturally people are going to fixate on the players not the club. If players are quitting all the time, as the big wave of resignations of pros that came around 2018, then yeah ofc viewership will keep dropping after a certain point. You can only keep attracting so many new viewers. But there are limits. So the clubs have large part of this responsibility.

These clubs don't focus on enriching their players. They are focused solely on winning the big games and taking the huge cuts off adverts and sponsorships tournaments are getting. If they see that one of their players is underperforming, they wouldn't hesitate to drop them off and pick a new player that performs relatively well during the season. This is why in Dota, we have a post-TI shuffle yearly, which means that orgs are always quick into changing rosters rather than attack the problem at the fundamental level.

Many pros quit after a few years on organizations that they carried the flags of. One huge part is due to the management. The rest is because they want to join a stronger team to win. If orgs would just invest more on their players to bring out their maximum potential, they'd be a lot better team-wise and may even win tournaments with a roster they tried so hard to work.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s the slot games perfect for completing wagering requirements on: April 21, 2024, 07:51:55 PM
In my case, I tend to focus more on how volatile the game is because if you're lucky, multipliers can go to the moon lol.

A lot of stuff from pragmatic play are great to me tbh e.g. starlight princess, gate of olympus. Nolimit's insane volatility lineup is also interesting e.g. fire in the hole 2, the rave. I was lucky enough to trigger nice bonusses in less than a hundred spins with them.

I second this. I hit lots of crazy multipliers with Pragmatic Games slots that is enough to let me play a couple more rounds to reach the wagering requirement. I try to avoid games with high RTP because they tend to suck when it comes to giving out big wins, unlike slots that are so volatile that your loss streak may just turn into a profit after just a single round. Max win I got from Gates of Olympus so far on a local casino is around $1000 off a $100 buy feature. It's not something big, but multiplying your money tenfold with a single round is something I would take any day.

Try playing slots with high RTP and compare it to those with high volatility and you'll see that the more you play high RTP slots, the more you lose compared to high volatility ones--at least on my experience.
78  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 21, 2024, 07:45:17 PM
All I want is to not be transferred to a retirement home when I get old, and in order to achieve this, I would need to raise a family that would know the value of family and would have the resources to take care of me when the time comes. That's why i employ a lot of strategies and learn more about investments to aid me in this plan of mine. The problem with today's generation is that most are busy living in the moment, and have forgotten that there still lies a future ahead of them. There's nothing wrong in indulging in the present, but there's also nothing wrong in working for your future either. Most are contented in having 2 or 3 vacations a year without regard for their future.

Just imagine a generation who lived too much in the now that they forget to build for the future. A lot of old people would suffer the consequence of not preparing for their grey hairs because they wasted it all in their youth. Lots of investment opportunities are present nowadays, and it's not wrong to keep some of it and use it during retirement.
79  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: April 21, 2024, 06:47:27 PM
One thing I'm seeing is that these jobs aren't as rewarding compared to the jobs that people can get on the internet. Agriculture in a lot of countries tend to favor those who has the capital to own their own land and those who has the money to invest on livestock. With this knowledge, the younger generation opt to learn a skill and sell it over the internet in exchange for flexibility and more money. Of course, who would want to work on a farm and get a few dollars worth for their time and back-breaking effort?

A lot of the young ones are looking to get some compensation that is worth their while and does not take a long while to get. If these opportunities were available to people back then, I'm pretty sure the older generations would hustle hard to get what they wanted and be successful for literally half the time it would take them to master a trade and sell their services.

It's alarming that fewer kids want to learn a trade or work in the fields that empower our society, but you can't really blame them for wanting to be self-sufficient early on unlike the older generations who value their work so much and would literally spend half of their lifetimes in order to prove their worth.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 21, 2024, 04:19:47 PM
Social media has become the avenue through which a lot of non-gamblers became knowledgeable about gambling. These influencers or vloggers are taking advantage of the viewers' gullibility and desire to win a huge sum of money in a short span of time. Also, most of their content are purely made of nothing, creating 5-minute videos of which 3 minutes of those are dedicated to their gambling ads. It's crazy how social media allows this kind of content to proliferate knowing that most of these platforms are anti-crypto or anti-gambling before.

Do you think the influential people you write about are interested in you and our children? Besides, how can you prohibit them from something that brings them money? You need to start with yourself, with raising your child, so that he or she understands the danger of becoming addicted to gambling. And all other people advertising gambling will do what they consider necessary for themselves.

They may not be thinking about me or my family when they created their content, but the platform through which they are spreading this virus know that these are something that should not be allowed. Then again, if this brings in revenues to both parties, I could understand why these social media platforms are turning a blind eye against paid content related to gambling.
