61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 13, 2024, 04:02:26 PM

Ancelotti had a similar pose again to the one he had after the La Liga title in the 2021/2022 season.  Smiley  He is respected really much in the team and by the fans as well. In his time as well Real Madrid have been quite successful. If they win in the Champions League finale once again it is going to be the second one in his time period.

I know he is managing one of top teams in Europe already. But not everyone would be that successful anyway. For example in the Champions League there have been quite intense tactical wars. It hasn't been easy for Ancelotti to bring the team into this phase.  Wink

Atalanta didn't make me surprised by the win last night. It was a really big dominance with their game as well. I thought it would be a more competitive game honestly. I wished Roma to win though to finally take a big step forward for the Champions League. However it seems like it won't be happening this season too.  Sad

Now I wonder what the board are going to do with De Rossi. Like I said before, I would really like to see him given a chance next season. If he gets more time he can get better with the team. But transfers on this summer will also be important. The squad should be ready for a strong Champions League challenge.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 13, 2024, 03:43:41 PM
Leverkusen have 1 more game to get the perfect record of the Bundesliga champion without losing. That gives them another chance to get 3 champions this season. DFB Pokal and Europa League. A perfect achievement for Xabi Alonso. Today they got a 5-goal win against Bochum. They dominated the game so much, even Bochum didn't have a shot on goal. Interestingly I want to wait for Xabi's action next season, because many teams cannot secure the championship in the next season. Because there will probably be a lot of players who leave because of the outstanding performances.

There is a bigger picture here at the same time. There are only 3 games left for Leverkusen to finish the whole season without loss and with three titles as well.  Grin

This is really going to be a difficult record to be broken for other managers, maybe even for Xabi Alonso himself.  Smiley  Leverkusen didn't have any Bundesliga title before. Xabi Alonso didn't just make do with making them add a Bundesliga trophy to their museum finally. He is about to win more titles together with that. I assume there weren't many people who expected him to be this successful when he first arrived. In the end it was his first experience.

I don't even know what' bayern's officials think this time. They have been heavily linked to the ralf ragnick but it seems like that bayern is changing its target again. I can't really understand what's the main target owned by this club. I mean that if bayern is always changing its target.

This time the club is now targeting de zerbi as a new appointment to replace tuchel that will leave from UCL at the end of season.

Quote
According to Christian Falk, Bayern Munich have held concrete talks over appointing a new manager for the club who will replace outgoing Thomas Tuchel ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Bavarian club's sporting director Max Eberl is keen on appointing Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi while their former coach Hansi Flick has also been included in the shortlist.
https://www.goal.com/en/news/live/transfer-news-and-rumours-live/blt1ccfda38eda06d5a

Do you guys agree to see zerbi as a new appointment for bayern? Brighton is having poor season this time. I think that if's a gamble by bayern to sign him as a new coach. Why doesn't bayern keep tuchel instead of replace him?

I prefer bayern munich to keep tuchel for another season.

Bayern Munich is changing its target now because of Ralf Rangnick's answer to them. He decided to refuse the offer as he was happy with his job at Austrian national team.

They have been rejected by Nagelsmann, Rangnick and Xabi Alonso so far. They have no choice other than looking for other available good managers. De Zerbi has seemed like a good manager but it is hard to predict how successful he would be with a top class team. Conte is still available, they can try their luck with him. He will probably be on the radar of many big teams this summer. I don't know whether he would like to work in Germany but making an attempt wouldn't be bad.  Smiley
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 13, 2024, 09:00:07 AM
the situation of Metz, Loriente and Clermont is very dire, they are the 3 main teams to be relegated and they depend on luck to be able to get out of the relegation zone, looking at the situation of the 3 teams in the table:

I see Metz as being the only team with a real chance of being lucky enough to get out of relegation, in Metz's next game they will play against PSG, in a game in which Mbapp will say goodbye to Ligue 1, which is why I highly doubt that being In Mbappe's last game, he will try hard, because if he tries too hard he could risk unnecessary injury. Therefore, I believe that PSG will play moderately, which will open up space for Metz to win or at least draw in this game, if Metz manages to get at least 1 draw then they will be able to secure position 16 and this will allow them to they compete in relegation rounds. unfortunately Clermont no longer has a chance, they were relegated

Lorient have a mathematical chance for the 16th position. But is it a realistic chance? I don't think so. Because goal difference is taken into account first. While there is a difference of seven goals between Lorient and Metz it is very difficult for Lorient to close the gap. Therefore we can technically consider Lorient out of the Ligue 1 as well.

Metz also don't have a realistic chance for the 15th position. The goal difference with Le Havre is just too big. It looks like Metz are going to face Angers or St. Etienne in the playoffs. It is hard to talk about whether they can remain in the Ligue 1.  Sad

In cases where a grandee plays against an obvious outsider (this is exactly the situation in this pairing) and it would seem that both teams don’t really need anything, I always expect a big victory from the grandee. The reserve team of the grand team is always stronger than the outsider and they have maximum motivation to show themselves. Today I predicted Real Madrid to win 3-0, but unfortunately (I'm participating in a prediction competition where the score is important) Real Madrid exceeded even my expectations.

A solid performance was what we have all seen.  Smiley  Real Madrid are still strong even with a rotated lineup. There are really talented young players waiting for opportunities and taking advantage of those really nicely.

It was nice to see Arda Güler scoring another goal. The kid has a pure talent just as Ancelotti also talks about this from time to time. Brahim Diaz is really like a machine. I'm a big fan of his shots as he is really good at aiming the toughest corner for the goalkeeper.  Smiley  I think Real Madrid will finish the league with 99 points by winning the remaining three games. But most important thing right now is the Champons League title. Ancelotti is going for a treble.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: May 13, 2024, 08:44:49 AM
Arsenal could have actually won by a bigger goal difference yesterday. Goal difference in general is really important for the championship indeed. In a situation with same points the final week is going to be really interesting to watch. Currently there is only a difference of three goals between Arsenal and Manchester City in the standings.

Manchester United were really desperate in that game and they are lucky about not conceding more goals. Arsenal wasted tons of opportunities. Havertz said that he would be one of the biggest Tottenham fans tomorrow.  Tongue  All Arsenal players and fans will be like that for sure.

Modric is still an ambitious player. Even at this age he is keen on playing for as much minutes as possible. However from now on his era is coming to an end sadly.  Cry

I don't know whether he is still planning to extend his contract. But even if he does he would accept it by knowing that he would be used as a rotation player quite often. As he has played in many games like that this season I assume he doesn't have any problem with that. I hope he doesn't decide to retire and play a little more somewhere else like many other big players.  Smiley  Maybe USA, maybe Saudi Arabia or any other place he would like.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 12, 2024, 03:42:50 PM
He did great, maybe he will be a good partner with Harry Kane next season, I'm expecting Bayern Munich to sign him up too. He has been linked to clubs in the Premier League Competition but all these have cooled down since the second half of the season. Or could it be ever since he got Injured?

I think it would be a wise move for Bayern Munich to go for Guirassy. He is like the most reasonable player in the market, a cheap release clause and a great talent for scoring.  Smiley  But there is another thing here. If Guirassy goes there it is really difficult for him to find a chance while there is Kane. The only way to play often is Bayern Munich to use a formation with 2 strikers.

I assume they wouldn't prefer a formation like that. Guirassy would be Kane's direct alternative in that case. Choupo-Moting would leave then I assume. I wonder what Guirassy would think about not playing regularly there.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 12, 2024, 03:34:15 PM

There are only 3 hours left! This game is really important for the last Champions League spot.  Smiley  I would have expected the odds between these teams to be much closer.

I really appreciate Atalanta's recent performances. They have reached the Europa League finale as well. They would have the biggest motivation here in front of their supporters too. But I wouldn't prefer a bet on a side here like I said before. But if I did my choice would be Atalanta in the circumstances. But the team I hope to see winning are Roma honestly.  Smiley

Roma couldn't make it to the Champions League with Mourinho but I hope they can with De Rossi.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: May 12, 2024, 03:23:48 PM
Maybe if they win and help the City reach for the trophy, maybe the City will reciprocate and let them win the FA Cup final round.

Mate, I would never expect Manchester City to play more complacently in the FA Cup finale honestly.  Tongue  Guardiola is a very ambitious manager. Especially after getting eliminated from the Champions League like that, he is much more focused on the remaining tournaments. He would surely want to finish the season with two titles.

Otherwise I would really like to see Manchester United achieving something in this poor season. They are likely to stay out of any tournament places in the Premier League. In that case the FA Cup is the only way for achieving some success. But realistically, I dont expect this to happen.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 12, 2024, 09:21:55 AM
Xavi intends to strengthen Barcelona in the off-season and he is going to place a big emphasis on strengthening the attack. And I was surprised that he said that they would have to sell (or lease) Lewadowski, since he doubts that he will be able to achieve the desired form, hinting that at 35 it is difficult to do this. So Lewandowski left Bayern in search of new achievements, and now he may be left with nothing. Although for now these are just rumors, but if they are already talking about it, anything can happen. And Barcelona definitely needs to strengthen their attack.

Barcelona are actually a productive team season. Their number of goals scored isn't much less than Real Madrid. However if we evaluate Lewandowski's performance I also can't say he is effective as in the past.

Indeed he is old from now on. Of course at this age for example Benzema was doing great but it isn't the same for Lewandowski. How much longer does he plan to stay or the team want to move on with him? His salary is 27 million euros for a year. This is a quite big load on Barcelona. Maybe he would play for another year but I don't expect longer than that. By the way I think Barcelona's priority must be strengthening the defense line.  Smiley
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 12, 2024, 09:09:17 AM
Real Madrid are very close to be announced as the champions. I don't want to take it for granted of course but the logic says this. They just don't lose, they always find a way to come back with Ancelotti.  Smiley

I have a big respect for what Dortmund have achieved so far. Eliminating teams like Atletico Madrid and PSG isn't an easy task. We have always known them with their weak defending despite having an effective attacking performance. But they have been doing pretty well recently. However they still need to make progress with defending. They got lucky against PSG there but it might not continue the same against Real Madrid.

Honestly I would like to watch even penalty shootouts but I feel like Real Madrid will finish this in 90 minutes.

One should never forget this, we all know how good manager Klopp has been for Liverpool. However he also didn't start his job comfortably. He had to make a really big effort to bring Liverpool to a much better point.
This is totally wrong example. You took klopp as an example but ten hag was not klopp. Is there a guarantee if he will able to follow what klopp did?

What is exactly wrong in my example? I'm saying that Klopp wasn't also doing great in his first years. In his first season Liverpool finished as the 8th, in his second and third seasons they finished as the 4th. It took Klopp 3 years to start making Liverpool competitive for the Premier League title.

My point here is that you can't achieve success if you just blame it on the manager only without thinking of the other factors. Injuries and the weakness of the squad are the biggest factors why Manchester United have been struggling. Patience and taking the right steps are very important things.

I always say this, Manchester United can be much better than this if they make the needed transfers this summer.  Smiley
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 12, 2024, 08:50:38 AM
The draw achieved by Brest against Reims will be paid dearly by Brest, because Lille will have the opportunity to equalize its points with Brest, because Lille's opponent can be said to be relatively weak, namely Nantes.
Nantes is a team that has experienced many bad results every time they face Lille and although Lille is not so good at away games but they will definitely not waste a good opportunity to equalize points with Brest and even have the opportunity to shift it from third place in the standings because it has a better goal difference, my prediction will end with a score of 2-0 for Lille.

Brest started to perform really badly recently. They won only once in their last five league games. This is risking the second position a lot for them.  Sad  If Lille win today they won't just make do with equalizing the points, they will capture Brest's position as well. But maybe Nantes might make difficulties for Lille. Because they still haven't guaranteed staying in the league.

Technically Nice can also benefit from this chaos but they are unlucky with their opponent in the next game. It is PSG.  Grin  Maybe PSG have already announced their title but we never know. Nice are too bad at scoring this season. Only 37 goals in 32 games...
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 11, 2024, 03:58:31 PM
In my opinion, Atalanta best chance is in the Coppa Italia, because in the Europa League they have to face Leverkusen, who have never been defeated, so it is difficult for Atalanta to beat the Bundesliga representatives. Meanwhile in Serie A, tickets to appear in the Champions League next season will continue to be contested between Atalanta and Roma, next week will be the deciding factor because the two will face each other directly. On paper, Atalanta has a slightly higher chance because they act as hosts,

I don't trust Juventus right now. When we take Atalanta's recent performances into account I'm also favouring them to win the Coppa Italia title.  Smiley

Yeah there is a really close competition for the Champions League. It is Atalanta or Roma. The game between them is tomorrow. I don't like Roma in away games this season. They won 6 of their 17 away games in the league so far. It is quite opposite for Atalanta in home games. In big games of course anything is likely. However while Atalanta have a really improved morale I see them one step ahead.

I wouldn't bet on their win anyway but I don't think Atalanta would lose. Both teams to score @1.70 could be another good choice for this one.  Smiley
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 11, 2024, 03:47:06 PM
Stuttgart have got ahead of Bayern Munich after the recent win. Bayern Munich haven't played their game on this week yet though. But I just admire Stuttgart's rise in the standings this season. Leverkusen and Xabi Alonso deserve to be discussed the most but Stuttgart also deserve the appreciation for their success.  Smiley

The top scorer Guirassy (26 goals) is quite likely to leave the team this summer. I'm saying it because of his release clause especially. It is only 17.5 million euros. It is really like a joke right?  Grin  I think he would be signed by one of bigger European teams. Stuttgart are joining the Champions League but it wouldn't be easy to convince him to stay in case of getting an offer from an attracting team.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 11, 2024, 03:37:21 PM
Quique Sánchez Flores is trying to help Sevilla revive and climb to upper positions after a long time. I can say he has been doing well on the recent a few weeks. Currently they are 2-1 ahead against Villarreal away too.  Smiley

The thing I hope to see from Sevilla board is to keep their current manager for the next season as well. Replacing managers with new ones with such short intervals isn't a healthy thing to do for your team. You need to believe in the manager you brought for a long time period. Some managers start meeting the expectations early but some do this when they are given more time. Being patient is key for them to bring back their old days.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: May 11, 2024, 03:30:17 PM
Rock solid performance by Manchester City today! It wasn't anything surprising as well because the opponent was Fulham. These days it really doesn't matter for Guardiola's students to play away or home. They just continue to destroy everyone to reach the league title. After the elimination from the Champions League the team look fully concentrated here.

Tomorrow Arsenal have no other choice than winning. It is going to be at Old Trafford but it shouldn't matter for them now. The previous losses at this stadium also shouldn't matter while they don't have any luxury of making a mistake. Hopefully Arsenal will go for the win.  Roll Eyes

Mbappe's farewell message confirmed that he will be leaving PSG soon.  ~snip~

Everyone was waiting for this moment and Mbappe has finally made the expected statement.  Smiley  If PSG moved on in the Champions League then I wouldn't expect him to do this already now.

But failure after failure resulted in Mbappe's departure. Money doesn't always open every door. Mbappe has to think of a more successful career at the end of the day. Achieving the Ligue 1 title doesn't mean anything. It is a playground for PSG like I said before. It doesn't have the same meaning as winning a Premier League or La Liga title. From now on all I expect to see is Mbappe to join Real Madrid. This would be the best ending to this story.
