What Juventus needs is a big renovation in the squad. At least in some specific areas starting with midfield. How much have they done so far? Not too much honestly.  Sad  Douglas Luiz and Khéphren Thuram are good transfers. Hopefully Juan Cabal can also be helpful. Di Gregorio is another signing to take the gloves from Szczęsny probably. But there are still players they aim to sell on one hand.

There is a big problem on the Chiesa situation indeed. There is still no team making an offer as far as I know. Tottenham is said to be interested but no action taken. If he stays this summer they will probably won't make any money from his sale as his contract ends in a year.

Even Pogba is still a part of the team, I mean...  Grin

As for Sevilla, has anyone noticed they're improving their squad.?! They will definitely be back as one of the top clubs for next season I'm certain. They've recently signed up two Nigerians. Kelechi Iheanacho the former Manchester City and Leicester City forward has just signed up for them.

I doubt Iheanacho as an improvement to the squad after selling a great striker like En-Nesyri honestly.  Sad  Because Iheanacho hasn't been in-form in the recent years. Check out his statistics from last season:

It is very similar in the previous a few years as well. 6 goals in a whole season can't be acceptable for a striker. Maybe Jamie Vardy's being the main striker also has had a negative affect on that. I hope so at least. I would like to see a productive striker in him from now on. He will be a regular starter at Sevilla I assume.

Other than him there are signings like a youngster Peque Fernandez, Chidera Ejuke too and I don't have much knowledge about them. Lokonga and Saul are other transfers on loan. Hopefully they can make the midfield stronger.  Roll Eyes

Bayern Munich said no 2 times to Manchester United's bids for De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

I wonder how much the Red Devils have been offering...  Huh  Because they really need new defenders to improve their performance. The number of goals they conceded previously was just too high.

de Ligt should absolutely be signed. If they spent 60 million euros on Leny Yoro then they should be ready for paying that much for de Ligt already. As long as they spend their money on the right players, I don't see any problem.

I understand their interest in Mazraoui too. Wan-Bissaka can't play well. Dalot is also not very good now. Mazraoui would perform much better than both. But probably they will have to pay more than 100 million euros in total for these 2 players so they should get ready for that.

A new season and a new journey for Kane to put an end to his title longing...  Smiley  I have no doubt he will once again give his everything to help his team make it. It was a dream season for him the last time. He was a goal machine undoubtedly. He took a big responsibility in his first year there already. This effort deserves titles I believe.

However if we see Kompany struggling in his first season... I assume Xabi Alonso would be quite likely to go for a back-to-back title. He has already made an insane start to his career by breaking records. It would be a big thing to improve his career more.

PSG also likes to bring many young talents to the team. They don't refrain from paying big sums for these players (just as they have done with Joao Neves as well). But they still need one thing to make this strategy work: a solid teamwork.

This has been an obstacle ahead of them to win a Champions League title as well so far. All these youngsters need to play productive together. PSG has lost Mbappe maybe but it isn't the end of the world. While they had him they couldn't become champions there either. As long as Luis Enrique finds out a way to make this team play more effectively, it is still possible to make it.  Wink  However I still hope to see them finding a replacement for Mbappe this summer.

Well, it looks like Newey is leaving, Perez most definitely will leave, they lost Wheatley now, and their car is not dominant at all. All of these combined tells me that next year will be a very very difficult year for them, not going to be easy to manage a team that has this many missing pieces. During the season they need to start looking for members who will join and be great part of it next season.

Also let's remember that Horner had some legal issues as well, mostly mobbing so not a big deal but still an issue and that made things a little harder for them to focus on the team.

In the end, we are talking about not an easy situation for Red Bull coming up and if they have a terrible season next year, Max may want to leave. After all he has a window to reach 7, and if leaves Red Bull and joins a better team, like for example Mclaren right now, then he would have a bigger chance to win. A new car takes time to adjust, but that dude is  a beast.

Red Bull is falling to pieces in time... The winner team is no more as of these partings. Especially Newey is a huge loss. As he has completed his duty with RB17 hypercar as far as I know, I assume he doesn't have much to do for this team from now on.

Perez is staying, Red Bull has announced it already. Yeah I know it doesn't make sense but this is the situation now.  Sad  This will just hurt the team, not Verstappen clearly. Perez is just the teammate he would like in the end.

He doesn't want competition against himself. But we will see how much longer Red Bull can keep going like this. Especially if they lose the championship this year then they would take this more serious I assume.

Anthony Gordon had a really wonderful season in the Premier League the last time.

He is once again rumoured with Liverpool.  Smiley  He has 2 years left on his contract and in the meantime Newcastle is also trying to convince him for a new contract. If Liverpool shows their intention with an official offer, I think Gordon would like to sign for them. He is a really great talent and still quite young (23). He can be more successful with Liverpool. However he should be ready for a big competition in LW position too. Because there are players like Luis Diaz, Gakpo already there.

Girona has officially lost one of their best players, Artem Dovbyk, to Roma.

Roma has accepted to pay 30 million euros for his transfer fee. I think it is really cheap deal for a productive striker like him. A good job it is by Roma!  Smiley  Abel Ruiz is Girona's new signing for the CF position now by the way. I can't say his statistics so far has been great. I hope he can be as effective as Dovbyk of course. He needs to get used to the system and work on his finishing skills at the same time.

I would like to see Girona maintaining their squad quality as much as possible to have another decent season. I know it is hard while their best players are on the radar of big teams though.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 03, 2024, 09:29:40 AM

So far Napoli have won 4 pre-season matches and as preparation for next season's Serie A, they already have the right weapons to be able to return to the title competition. With Antonio Conte everything went so well and they did not make the slightest mistake that led to defeat.

If we look at their opponents in the pre-season matches, they are actually not strong teams but at least with several big wins they have produced, they can increase the confidence of their players to continue to gain positive results later. Can't wait for Antonio Conte's first debut with Napoli and Napoli should have been able to bring him in earlier so that they don't experience a slump like last season.

Except Brest yeah they are noname teams. Therefore it would be really difficult to judge how good they would start the new season. But like you also said, this can give them more confidence at least.

There is another friendly waiting for Napoli today. It is going to be against Girona. This would be a really interesting game as Girona is the most serious opponent among the ones they have faced so far.

And in a week, the Coppa Italia starts. Napoli have a game against Modena on August 10 which is going to be their first official game of the season. I hope to see a convincing win by them.  Smiley

Possibility lineup by transfermarkt

This looks really good by the way. Merino and Gyökeres both are great players. I really loved to watch Merino in Euro 2024 as well. You know Gyökeres, he is a goal machine.  Grin  This would be a great lineup to go for a league title.

Signing a CF is the most important thing for Arsenal now. This will help them become more consistent. Because in critical moments we have witnessed how they struggled to score goals. Otherwise I know they are a very productive team. They scored 91 goals the last time.  Smiley  Merino would be a much more reliable partner for Odegaard at the center. In this way Rice can continue to play as DM which is his natural position.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 01, 2024, 06:05:12 PM
While I do agree that Xabi and Leverusen trying one more time means that they have a chance, lets not give them a high chance just because they won it last year. We have seen many smaller teams do amazing for one season and then suck another season, so we could totally see them not do that well this year. I understand that it will hurt all of their stock value, but they may still end up not being that great.

These are the odds for next season champion in the Bundesliga. You see how much Bayern Munich are favoured anyway.  Smiley  Is it surprising though? I think it isn't. Because just because Leverkusen became champions by being very dominant one time, bookmakers can't favour them all of a sudden. Bayern Munich are still far ahead of any other team in general.

However we will see how Xabi Alonso will answer that this time. 3.50 are nice odds to make use of. But not useful as long as betting a small amount on it. Honestly I don't want to think of placing any outrights bet before watching some performances.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: August 01, 2024, 05:49:21 PM
I'm going to keep myself from betting today but if I bet I assume my choices would be like below for the remaining games.  Smiley

What do you say? Would you prefer this? Panathinaikos and Ajax both won the first legs by only one goal. I feel like both of them would like to consolidate their win to advance. This is why I think both of them would win. When it comes to Cercle Brugge, the first leg ended by 1-1. Normally they are the stronger side in the matchup. I don't think Kilmarnock will be able to hold them off this time. I expect a win in regular time.

I hope I don't regret not to bet on it.  Tongue
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: August 01, 2024, 05:42:06 PM
Fenerbahçe had that much difficulty because of not being fully ready for the new season. Otherwise there is a huge strength gap between them and Lugano. Not only by squad but also by manager quality.  Grin

There are only 5 days until they face Lille in third qualifying round. The first leg is in France. Mourinho will need to make sure of his players to get ready. In case of getting a bad loss they might say goodbye to the tournament early.

The loser side drops down to the Europa League league phase directly by the way. But they would absolutely like to be a part of the Champions League instead. You know the big difference in the amount of money given to teams just for reaching the league phase.  Smiley

I'm sorry about this, but Calenda (Osimhen's agent) has confirmed that he denies a loan move for Osimhen. Even if there will be a buy clause option, I strongly believe this will not happen. I'd like to call that fake news. I knew this fake news was coming from D. Ornstein, and Calenda, as Osimhen's agent, has denied it.

Romano's report on Osimhen's agent's statement confirmed that the rumor was not true.

Thanks for sharing the source. Then yeah, it is false alarm.  Tongue  But it would really be for the benefit of Chelsea if this deal happened for real. They would love to have a reliable striker instead of Jackson.

https://x.com/nicoschira/status/1818724384603095093?s=46&t=itrLkNF8u0gU3nf3-G0VQA

The source says Milan is still after Tammy Abraham. Why would they be so insistent on him?  Huh I mean he isn't a horrible player but the truth is he is having serious injuries. Is it worth the risk anyway? There are so many better strikers out there. Maybe they see a probable cheap deal which is why they want him. Otherwise I don't believe he is a striker to push this much for. I assume Jovic would be more helpful in the long term.

Endrick has such a big media support behind him though. You must have noticed it during his introduction to the fans at the stadium and so on as well. I hope he doesn't stay under the expectations and proves himself to everyone in time. He has just turned 18 years old. Yamal, Arda Güler and now Endrick... The number of talents in the La Liga is increasing every year and it makes me look more confident to the future.  Smiley

August 15 is the day the new seasons begins by the way. I'm looking forward to watch Mbappe before anything else. I'm curious how long it will take him to adapt. I don't expect it to be too long honestly.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2024/2025 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: August 01, 2024, 10:09:10 AM
Calafiori arrival will make the depth of Arsenal squad next season better, especially their defense line, Arteta is very aware that defense is an important factor in supporting their readiness to win the English League trophy next season, but Arteta should also think about their midfield at the moment it will be a little fragile after Elneny departure to another team, apart from that, in my opinion, Declan Rice needs the right tandem to make Arsenal midfield stronger in supporting their attack and defense line in next season, Calafiori arrival will clearly not change Gabriel position as a central defender in arsenal squad, because with his ability to play equally well as a left back, of course Arteta will most likely plot Calafiori as a left back to replace Kiwior or Zinchenko next season.

Actually yeah, I haven't noticed that Calafiori played as a LB very often so far.  Smiley

https://www.transfermarkt.com/riccardo-calafiori/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/502821

Considering this fact, Arteta can actually use him there as well without removing any usual CB from the starting lineup. However in that case Zinchenko and Kiwior would start playing less often. Arteta will need to get the maximum efficiency from all these defenders. He is a great manager though so I think he would find a way not to cause any of his valuable players get nervous.

Just as I expected South Sudan couldn't do much against USA. But at least they lost to USA by a smaller point gap compared to Serbia.  Tongue  This is like a playground for USA you know. Seeing them not winning the tournament would be a big surprise.

The only team they can have more difficulties could be Canada I assume. Because Canada are really meeting the expectations so far. I would like to watch a final game between them and USA honestly.  Smiley

In that case, I would try my luck with a bet on Canada to win the gold medal. Anyways, quarter final draw isn't decided yet right? But one thing seems certain that USA and Canada aren't facing each other in that phase already.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: July 31, 2024, 06:39:30 PM
Why would you think they'd be complacent after winning big in the first leg? I checked their match history and it seems like they take this competition seriously. I don't think resting key players is a bad choice and even if they trail by 3 goals in the first half doesn't mean they can't change anything by the second half. Not to mention the target is the Champions League, not some local cups that has no history at all.

Because I lost many bets because of this kind of incidents. A team win the first leg by a big goal gap and show how much they overwhelm their opponent. After that, I bet on them in the second leg by thinking they would win again. But they surprise me by getting a draw or lose because of being complacent.  Grin  Therefore I started not to place a bet in this kind of situations.

I'm waiting for next round games now. My BTTS prediction on Fenerbahçe and Malmo games won. But for once I thought Fenerbahçe weren't going to score any goal.  Sad

It looks like the logo of the Ligue 1 has changed and it is going to be like this.

A simple and decent design I think. I hope the league quality also increases in the future. Tongue  This season, one of the teams I'm curious about is Lyon.

In the previous season, there was a terrible start but a great recovery later on.  Smiley  If they didn't start that badly, they could have really qualified for the Champions League. But I hope they can make more progress and make it there this time. They have that potential, but... They should focus on improving their defending. They conceded too many goals the last time.  Sad

In addition, not satisfied with bringing in players from the premier league, Dortmund continues to add to its strength and this time they strengthened their back line by bringing in Yan Couto from Girona.

Oh, really nice move by Dortmund!  Wink  Signing him for a fee like 25 million euros is nothing honestly. He is only 22 years old and his last season performance was marvelous! 2 goals and 10 assists are really good statistics for a RB. It was really difficult for him to find a chance at Manchester City while there was a star RB like Kyle Walker. So he made the right choice for himself.

Dortmund is taking really good steps in the transfer market. Guirassy, Anton and now Yan Couto.  Smiley  They spend their money really efficiently at the same time which is a thing they are the best at.
