61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 19, 2024, 01:28:14 PM
Team USA has released their roster for the upcoming 2024 Olympics.

LeBron James
Stephen Curry
Kevin Durant
Joel Embiid
Devin Booker
Jayson Tatum
Anthony Davis
Tyrese Haliburton
Anthony Edwards
Jrue Holiday
Bam Adebayo
Kawhi Leonard

Who do you think should have been there?

I think Domantas Sabonis showed over the last two years that he’s an elite player. I wouldn’t have complained if he were on the team. I think Paul George also deserved a spot. After the injury he suffered while playing for the Olympic team, he really should have a lifetime offer to be on this team. Zion would be a nice addition too but I think he’s too young and doesn’t have his priorities right yet.
While I know that Sabonis is a good player and no doubt with that but I don't think that he'll be eligible to play for the Team USA as he's played for Lithunia, CMIIW. As for Paul George, I agree on this one but the roster's been lock and good luck to USA team to the Olympics.

I love this confidence from Anthony Edwards and I agree with him. He’s 100% the best young talent in the NBA right now and if he can keep his head on straight and continue trying to get better, I don’t see how anyone could be better.

"I'll be the best player in the NBA in about two to three years."

- Anthony Edwards
It's possible, I just hope that he won't get that career destroying injury just as what happened to the many aspiring greatest players but then, lost it all when they've contained it. And speaking of him, congratulations to him for being part of the Team USA.

63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Jontay Porter receives lifetime ban from NBA for violating gambling rules" on: April 18, 2024, 10:30:31 PM
Now a part of gambling and professional sports history. Porter did himself a favor by thinking that while betting, he can maneuver the game as he's a player of that bet of his own.

"The NBA also found that prior to the game, Porter disclosed confidential information about his health status to "an individual he knew to be an NBA bettor." A different individual associated with Porter also bet that Porter would underperform March 20 as part of an $80,000 parlay the bettor placed with an online sports book".
And this is getting spicier, a parlay of $80k.. That's sick and he'd really do anything he can to win that bet and not the game itself if he's betting against his team.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing the money in gambling, what is your strategy on: April 17, 2024, 09:41:51 PM
I have even cried and I have to move forward, because losing money like that is difficult, I have lost more than what I have won, I cannot say that I have won big, what I have won the most has been 25usd and that is the equivalent so that I don't retire from the game at once.
Normally, we cry when we've worked hard the money that we used to gamble. And upon losing it, it's not just about losing the money but also losing all of the times that we've spent for earning that money and that's why we become emotionally which is normal when we realize at the end how we lost a lot even if the amount we gambled is small for the others. No effort can be par with that amount when it includes our time, effort, energy and attention.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 17, 2024, 08:32:17 PM
Yeah, that under the table is making sense in the PBA. It's not a secret that it's happening mostly in MVP and SMC teams, they don't even want to trade those players as they're closed with contracts until they finally end and no longer in use for the team. Just like what happened with Greg, his contract ended and got an offer to play in B League but because he can't stay there for so long and want to be with his family, it's good to see him play on MPBL and has still a good offer and contract.
He wouldn't come back if the offer is not good. I like to see Greg being helpful to this team, so hopefully that rumor is true and he'll be able to make a name again, but this time in MPBL. Personally I'm not really watching MPBL games, but I heard people say that it's more fun than the PBA.

Anyway, that is still a rumor until we see Greg in uniform of whatever team he'll be playing.
I haven't watched a game yet but the same feed back I've heard and read that MPBL games are more fun than PBA but of course, this thread is PBA but Greg was PBA as well so, that's still a consideration though.

That under the table deals will totally kill the interest of fans to watch PBA and we can already see its effect right now since we can see that there's so less interest of people to watch the live games even if the team playing is Ginebra or other strong teams in the League. Luckily Greg is already out on PBA and his on MPBL now since we maybe see a total fall down of PBA and it will be change by currently a hot league for filipino fans which is MPBL.

If their commissioner will continue to favor those three big companies on the league for sure the oldest basket league in Asia will collapsed.
When the known teams like a decade or more ago has been gone, there's something else to the league that had made them disappointed and out of the league. Because it's always been the top and known teams always get the title and it is not surprising if more teams does this in the near future.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 16, 2024, 10:43:56 AM
If they have the money, they can. But just balance all of those players and teams unlike PBA, they're saying they have salary cap but it's all just a show and greater and superstar players are receiving more than the cap.
There's always a thing called "under the table", if they really think he is very valuable to the team, then they could give that salary. I don't follow MPBL a lot but since they have been considered as a pro already, that means they are into business for long term and whow knows one day they'll overtake PBA and they'll be the best league in the Philippines.

Greg is actually 35 years old already, I don't think he deserve that kind of salary because he is nearing the retirement age. That article might just be hype and readers buy the story.

67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 16, 2024, 12:02:57 AM
I don't know but seems that there's no plans from PBA governors they will go with the flow and let this scenario inside PBA, no chance of independent team to play for the finals, that's last season run by Phoenix making to the final 4 is just same with what is happening from those previous semi-finals, but in terms of final's birth seems impossible to any independent team as these two giant companies who controlled the league always manage to bring their teams to the finals that's why there's no interest anymore for most fans, they already know what will happened and that's not new anymore.
It's okay if they're looking at that without plans, the league will die eventually and when they will take actions, it's too late. They think that they can always milk the Filipino fans with their kinds of games that they can be bought with the decisions of farm teams and unfair trades. If it's like the PBA before where every team was very competitive, the fans will be liking each and everyone of it. I don't see the reason of being digital and online as a sign that the viewership has declined a lot. The Filipino baller fans just don't like this kind of league anymore with how they operate it.

It has changed a lot due to the monopoly inside. Even this entertainment only, it can be monopolize as the league allows a company to owned a lot of teams, so most likely it's the SMB and TNT which will be winning a championship, and that can be proven even if we checked the past championships where we can see it's their teams that are in their.

What happened is the other teams have no chance of winning a championship or even in the championship. that gets boring and boring and Filipinos don't like that as we want to see an unpredictable game as that excites us.
While it's a league that everyone should be excited for and there's the record of history that this is the oldest one. Nowadays, people are not worrying with what it has got. And with the news that I've seen that they're giving free tickets, no one cared at all. This crazy meta of the SMC and MVP teams reigning PBA is what made the fans angry about it. For how many years, it's always like this. I want PBA to be great again but looking at it right now, they deserve the lowness of it and the criticism of fans, we fans deserve better PBA, better management.

That's actually good for them. Before it was like everyone is dreaming to play for the PBA but now, it's just an option and there are better salaries and opportunities offshore and even with our local leagues like MPBL, Pilipinas Super League and others.

I think MPBL is trying to compete with the PBA in terms of salary as it has been reported (not sure if its true) that Gregzilla wants to come back home and will be playing in MPBL, his salary was 800k per month, MPBL team tries to match it.
If they have the money, they can. But just balance all of those players and teams unlike PBA, they're saying they have salary cap but it's all just a show and greater and superstar players are receiving more than the cap.

Young talents already got lots of options, aside from MPBL there's also overseas leagues that can cater them, unlike before where young aspiring stars always dream to step and play inside PBA, no longer that big part to inspire since they can quickly earn money once they show up and gained the interest especially with the help of social media they can be an instant prospect.

69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 15, 2024, 12:17:56 AM
With sister teams competing there's always rumors that the game will be controlled, we can't remove that assumption as we keep seeing how the league is being practice, either SMC or MVP will win the title and those who are on lower ranks will continue to serve as farm teams, though they are trying to hype the league back giving those low ranks team an exposures showing that they can beat good teams, but I guess that's already late as the trust of most fans is no longer interested with how the games being played.

I'm waiting for MPBL to earn more advertisers and big companies trust, if that happened they will be able to pay big names from PBA and switch them to play with their respectives cities/provinces.

It will be a real competitions for PBA and for sure with how the fans embracing MPBL with additional talents the entertainment and excitement from each provinces and cities that they'll be heading will be jampack!
MPBL is gaining the popularity and more audiences and fans are going there. So, if PBA won't do anything that's interesting and they keep on repeating this sequence coming from the playoffs, semi finals and finals, there's no doubt that they'll be lessened as the oldest basketball league in Asia and will be overtaken by it. Because in the sense of PBA, there's no more competitive drama on it and it's like we all know what's going to be the result of most games up to the season's finals.

Why would people still watch if they know what team will win. It's too late for them, their action on giving tickets is good but it will not work anymore. Just imagine, you have to go through the long traffic just to get to the arena, although that's free but it's not fun to watch anymore. Me, I would just watch my TV since I'm subscribe to Pilipinas Live, so I can also watch anywhere online.

If they will not stop that farm team and monopoly inside, they will never improve.

I think they should be thinking of revamping the PBA by adding more teams, for sure the excitement will grow and people will start putting their interest back.
Exactly, it's just hard to accept that this pro league and known to our country has been getting out of the talks and started to be ignored by the young talents that we're having. And with that, those talents are bringing more viewership to the offshore leagues that we're seeing like KBL and B League. Monopoly and bad management from the current commissioner should be changed and there should be a competition for him to be replaced.

Going on with PBA anniversary and giving tickets, it doesn't seem to work and every Filipino fans are already aware of what's going to happen when we see the big three teams that are part of the playoffs or semis. If you guys will rotate with PBA posts and topics posted on social media, you'd see people are just giving them a 'haha' reaction because it doesn't make sense anymore for them to retrieve the trust of the fans watching the live games. Yes, there are now telecasts through livestreams but still, look at the other sports that have been loved by the fans. Despite that, watching live games are still giving a different experience but not anymore with PBA. Most of the comments that I've seen were that they want Kume to be replaced by another one to give PBA another taste to the fans and make it alive more if he's been replaced.
73  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1xBet Biggest Scam and Violation of Terms on: April 09, 2024, 11:59:53 PM
That happened for me as well but with a different website but I guess contacting the support to address the issue is just the first step.

I need a good lawyer in curaçao (expert in e-gaming) to bring this to court .
1xbet also refuses to send my betting + transaction history .
Sad to say that they've got a history of having a bad reputation from the forum and if you're looking for a good lawyer then all you have to do is to contact and do more research about it. I know that you've just shared here for the sake of trying to get some advise and tip from the other gamblers that might have faced the same thing. On the other hand, you clearly admitted that you're an addicted gambler and losing $1.4M in just 2 nights is insane.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: April 07, 2024, 08:13:08 PM
I have no time for that, if I lose then it's the same as throwing thrash to the garbage can and that will be forgotten forever. But I understand that many still that do track their progress to see if there's something good happening on them. With the losses that I am having, it's best to have it forgotten so that I can easily move on and that's the reason why I think that it's best to not to track my progress and most importantly, as long as I am not addicted then I am good.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: April 06, 2024, 09:26:44 PM
I know a lot of people who gamble at night, they are up all night, gambling and having fun, and they sleep the whole day because of that. They don't work because they are lazy due to their bad routine. One shouldn't do this to themselves, gambling should be kept as an extra activity.
It's probably because they earn well as they gamble and they have figured it out that they don't have to go to any job. But that's their life, if they gamble all night long and sleep all day long then that's how their lifestyle is and we can't control them for doing so. As long as they know what they are up to and they are gambling with their own funds, it doesn't matter anymore as they do it for themselves and not for everyone. As for me, I'd like to still gamble and work to support all of my activities including gambling.

Well, if that's the matter then the guy just have to let it go and all the money will go to the woman. But that's what the man don't want to happen and if they're truly split already and their relationship can't go back. It's just best for them to have a talk as going to courts with this matters will take a lot of time and as well as money from them. Although the money is no longer an issue to them as they'd just deduct any expenses from the jackpot they've won.
Forget about them getting back together since "love" is of little to no value when they started arguing whether they should split or not. Another thing is that someone is clearly lying. It's all about the money.
Yeah, whatever it is then it's always about the money and when it talks, relationships are ending and whoever is the one that has the advantage of taking huge part, they'd surely go down and far just to take what's for them. This isn't the first time, we'd see more of these stories in the nearest future.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 05, 2024, 06:10:18 PM
There is this roster that's being posted by an MPBL team that they're including Greg Slaughter on their roster and on some other team, another PBA player that will be playing for them as well, I just forgot the name of him. Apart from that, is it true that CTB will be coaching Converge soon and gonna replace coach Ayo?

now, maybe they realize that they really need Williams..BTW, what happened to the rumors that he will get sign?
No more news about him signing or whatnot because both parties don't agree to the terms of each other.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: April 05, 2024, 04:41:40 PM
Yep, it's why gambling addict is hard to be cured because they will keep denying over and over that make people around him can't seek for help and the doctor can't know really know the reason why they are still become addicts.

Imagine someone brought you to a doctor, when the doctor ask you what do you feel, you answered him "I'm good", the doctor will not know which medicine that you should consume.
Yeah, that's useless and addicted gamblers are mostly in denial when they're being asked if they're addicted or not so it's not really going to work when you try to help them but they don't want to help themselves. But those that have nice stories and able to overcome their addiction and have totally left gambling, they're the ones who have admitted that there's something wrong with themselves and they can't defeat gambling.

I have never tried them but I've seen them like years ago but never attracted me to do so. I don't like how it goes as it's like you're going to talk to a bot for you to get some access. I don't like how it goes with it but still, there are still a lot in existence but I wonder if they've got a lot of customers as most of us are a fan of the traditional online casino setup because they're easier to navigate and they've got more users.

Ops is there any update on the case, because this topic seems to attract alot of comments and discussions that will become more interesting if we can have update on the case, have the couple finally agreed on a sharing formula or they are still at a longer head with fights over who get what and how much the each get, I believe by now there should already be enjoying the money and making peace within because for me they both luck shine and that is why they won the jackpot on the first place.
I am also interested if there are updates about this.
There are no updates yet apparently. The woman is probably preparing her defense as we speak since I don't think she will be sharing the money unless she was obliged to do so. She is the only recognized winner according to the lottery office terms after all and it will be the court who will decide if the guy deserves a share of the jackpot. This case could take a year or more depending on the country's legal process.
Well, if that's the matter then the guy just have to let it go and all the money will go to the woman. But that's what the man don't want to happen and if they're truly split already and their relationship can't go back.
