Okay, so there's been a media conference a while ago made by the Gilas management and they've made sure that Terrence Romeo and Calvin Abueva were certainly out as their petition to add them to the roster wasn't granted. Also, the list of the 60 players in the Gilas pool was also released. (https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/09/19/23/look-sbp-unveils-initial-pool-of-players-for-asiad)

I didn't read the full story, so are you saying that Calvin and Romeo are not part of the final roster? This is quite disappointing.
Yes, that's true. They're out because they're not approved by the board where the Gilas management sent a proposal for them to play. Truly a disappointing time. We're just about to see them play again through Gilas but it didn't happen.
This is the problem with the management, they are not that competitive to make this happen and for sure they didn't follow the rules that's why some of our players are not qualified to play. A very disappointing news where we about to see great players again in court, unfortunately because of our incompetent management, many players are suffering and also our team Gilas.
Can blame that on the past management or let's say the coach who sent the list of the players. Anyway, he's already out and still made a mess out of it.

Let's just continue to support though those players and the team who will represent as in this tournament.
There is nothing we can do but just to give our full support to them in every way that we can. We're all optimistic about the possible run that they will have and we want to see how the transition of the new coaching staff will impact the result of this new Gilas roster.

And base on One Sports, these are the players that are in and out.

Out:

Calvin Abueva
Terrence Romeo
Jason Perkins
Mo Tautuaa and
Roger Pogoy (health reason).

IN:

Chris Ross
Kevin Alas
Arvin Tolentino
Marcio Lassiter
CJ Perez
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Comparison between the Year vs Criteria of the Airdrops on: September 19, 2023, 09:56:56 PM
2024 - We will waiting for the very complicated criteria due to a lot of users. Otherwise, the allocation will be small. (Eg: Zksync, Layerzero)
RWA?
How it will be if these real-world companies will have their own tokens and they're going to do some airdrops for distribution? That's interesting to know that there's real-world use case for these tokens and there's a legitimate business that's backing these tokens.
Allocation might be small but it's going to have real value and it's a real free money if it ever happens. I am not positive nor negative on it but since the next bull run is about to come, there should be another trend that will make the market go wild again whether it's with these airdrops or new listings.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My first sell with cypto after some months of introducing crypto as a payment on: September 19, 2023, 09:36:12 PM
CONCLUSION
Never relent in anything you believe in. It may take sometimes for it to happen but if you believe and work towards it, it will definitely happen.
That's right, when you truly believe to what you're doing and what you have invested then don't stop believing in it. I've been through and done that despite many people have been backlashing and bashing me with what I believe especially in holding and buying bitcoin.
They made fun of me and I thought that I am with them but behind me, they're attacking me and I was the topic of their talks as if I am a crazy person that don't know what I am doing just because I am an investor of Bitcoin. But it's okay, most of them are still on their kind of living that keeps on gossiping people's lives and then nothing changed at all, I just pity them.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: September 19, 2023, 09:14:39 PM
On few occasions I have been privileged to witness this cockfight,  since this discussion began a few weeks ago,  but then at some point it still ball down to the fact that cockfighting only exist in some premitive location around the world,  some are in villages that have some level of f traditional settings that allow for some local games,  in the northern part in my country there use to have arranged cock games and this normally happens during some form of religion events that happened at seasonal period.
That is true that it's something that only exists in particular parts of the world. In our country, it's like a tradition that happens for every fiesta and other important events that take place from one place to another. But in some areas, it has become a daily go-to place. I live a few kilometers away from an actual cockpit where cockfighters and bettors coming from different places flock over there on a daily basis. I haven't got in there yet but whenever I pass by on that place, it's always full. Full of cars, people and vendors and it has become a daily living for those people. That's why for some places in my country it's like seasonal but into those areas that has cockpits, it's become a daily way of living where you'll see almost the same people coming there over and over again.
645  Economy / Economics / Re: X (formerly Twitter) may be telling people like me to exit the platform on: September 19, 2023, 08:55:07 PM
Its users are already its products and he wants to charge them? All I can say is that Elon's management of Twitter(X) after acquiring it is sort of showing that he's f**kin' it up. If it's just about the bots and fake accounts, there's a certain algorithm that he can just ask to do from his developers. I wonder why he's trolling at the next level because he's aware that if he's going to do it then that's the final moments of his platform. The investment that he's put into it will never be worth it but then, from the very start before acquiring it. He has expressed how he's free to change everything about it and he did. I guess that he just can afford to lose this platform as it might lose a lot of its users upon activating what he said about charging everyone. No one would like to use it for a fee when they can just go and use other social media platforms.

There was so much excitement about their return to Gilas Pilipinas, and now it seems there are significant problems that have arisen. I must admit, I've lost interest in watching their games. It's challenging to find players who can bring the same level of energy to the floor as Abueva and Romeo.
Well, they've just shown the pool and many of them are interesting players as well. But it's just a different vibe and aura if it's with Terrence Romeo and Calvin Abueva. We have to admit that and that's not the same energy from the recent Gilas that we've seen. Just another sad day that we thought that we'll see them play and represent our country again.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UnionBank to offer Bitcoin trading on mobile app in Octomber on: September 19, 2023, 08:11:28 PM
This is from our country. I haven't gone through most of the details but for everyone's sake just to have an idea. Unionbank is a local bank here and they've been supportive of crypto. But there have been reports that when a customer deposits money that came from the source through crypto, they've put a red flag on it. A few crypto users and as well as depositors of that bank have posted it on social media before. While it is good to have another wallet and exchange here in our country. I can say that these wallet providers and exchanges here are becoming competitive because we're having a lot of options and that's in favor for us.
One of my friends got that exact problem with Unionbank too, deposited 20k USD worth in PHP then got flagged by the bank although to be fair with the bank, my friend quickly withdrawn the same amount so definitely it's understandable that it's flagged as suspicious, that was one of the reasons why that friend stopped using Unionbank, plus there are other online banking much better than Unionbank now so it's not that big deal that UB plans to accept bitcoin trading or crypto.
These banks not just Unionbank have that triggered about a sudden huge deposit and then if the customer has also done the same thing successfully before. It's a common alert for them and that's why I don't do huge deposits because that's how they're going to be triggered.
Especially if the activity on the account isn't that much and then all of a sudden, there's a larger amount that comes in out of nowhere. That will truly question the customer about how he'd got such funds. And it's all about the money laundering suspicious and that's why even if you're truthful to them that it's your profit in crypto, they may just allow you to withdraw but that would be the last time for you to use them.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 19, 2023, 01:16:47 PM
IMHO, it's better if a weak team has taken him so that he can showcase more of himself and have more playing. Well, no doubt that SMB is a good team but there are a lot of good players there already and in the same position as his. Whilst if he's been picked by a weaker team, it's more exposure and better improvement for him to be there. But as we're saying, it's better to get drafted than not.
Better than not or it's been setup like that to make it looks like that farm team don't need to breed good players it goes directly to the team that intending to have them, I mean no need to wait for 1-2 years as coach Yeng said, but in the case of Kyt he already with SMB and maybe they will start bringing him in the rotation as part of his training ground, he's with his idol TR7 and if both will play the same type of momentum that they can provide, SMB might once again will bring that excitement to the fans.

Imagine JMF, CJ showing a healthy game during the world cup, then add Mau and Manuel plus all the supporting cast. It would be a good transition from starter to bench players who can also add up good quality minutes when inside the court.
Dude, that's like a roster that's hard to beat, and as usual, they really do. As the concern goes with KYT, it's a good spot that he's with them since we can't alter or undo anymore what has happened. While it's such an inspiration for KYT to be with his idol. I am sure that he's also going to have that momentum with them. They won't take him for nothing right? and as the other teams have passed for the draft, they're for sure just going to look forward to trade some of their players in their roster for the newer ones after a year or two.

It was the typical Gilas that we've seen in the FIBA world cup and it's actually an interesting pool but I don't know why this has to happen that we're now problematic with the roster prior to Asiad. It is also notable that Onyeka Okongwu from Atlanta Hawks was on the list so it's most likely that he should be there being the naturalized guy. Interesting list but we're falling short of players. I even thought that the presscon a while ago was all about pulling out to the Asiad.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions on Native Coins/Tokens of Exchanges? on: September 19, 2023, 09:28:27 AM
While there's an edge and advantage to having some known advisors on board for such projects. But that doesn't guarantee the project's success just because they've been part of their respective projects that they've been part of. In this market, I have seen how these projects are also sticking into the known names for their personal interest and sake. This is like giving one another a boost but of course, this is with monetary exchange and fees for them to be part of a new project just as what you've mentioned OP. It could have been better for the new projects that have a lot of budget for their marketing to give that allocation to their advisors because it's part of it. Yes, these partnerships and having known names to be their advisors has something in return for them and that's the trust that these people in their own communities will also bring to the addition and contribution as a start.

653  Local / Pilipinas / Re: High-Level Resignation sa Binance on: September 19, 2023, 08:10:23 AM
Ang totoong dahilan talaga niyan ay dahil sa presure ng SEC, umiiwas sila na magisa, at the same time kasi maari silang mapaginitan alam naman natin ang US kapag napaginitan ka hindi maganda ang kinakalabasan, eprepresure kasi sila ng SEC at US government, eh hindi naman sila ganun kalaking figure sa society, so talagang ididiin sila ng mga iyan, para makaiwas sa ganyan klase ng kalakaran minabuti nalang nilang magresign,
narito ang link sa ukol diyan:
https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/binanceus-legal-risk-executives-are-leaving-wsj-2023-09-14/#:~:text=Krishna%20Juvvadi%2C%20head%20of%20legal,a%20third%20of%20its%20headcount.

654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bnb after next 5years on: September 18, 2023, 05:56:56 PM
Going back to to $686 is possibility if bitcoin make new all time high price but the same with BNB,
IMHO, it's not just BTC that should make a new ATH by that time for BNB to go back to that ATH. But also Ethereum as it's the major altcoin in the market and it's still has got trading pair on it for various exchanges.

current bitcoin price keep stable in lower and difficult to see BNB raise with new higher price again.
And for that reason, it is going to take time before we see that happen. Maybe next year or two, no one knows. But if you're holding it you're fine to wait for the right time until you are able to sell it on a profit. While mentioning the biggest three cryptos currently in the market, not including the stable coin. It's just a matter of time again that we're going to see most of them are soaring high again in prices. The demand will eventually have to increase and with the BTC ETF applications that will be approved by the SEC in no time, there will be reasons for the market to go up again.
655  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: September 18, 2023, 05:12:36 PM
Here in our country, 3 months from now is Christmas. For sure, when the month of December enters, the prices will increase even more. Instead of getting excited about the citizens of our country, we are getting more and more headaches about how we are going to budget here. Even now, our pocket is hurting so much; how can it be in the month of December?
This is true mate. When holidays come, the demand for goods will increase and even we've seen the slow down of the price increase these days. There will be a potential surge that's going to happen by that time. Plus, I've heard it from a forecast before that by December 2023 and onwards, the price will going to keep up with the inflation and we can't skip that. We need to tighten our belts and pockets by that time but at the same time, we can't let it pass during this celebration. Solution on this one is to celebrate it frugally, no need to be extravagant.

Then there is news from us that the manufacturers of food in cans and non-food are also planning to raise prices, so almost everything that people need is already expensive.
AFAIK, the government is asking them not to implement that. But even if they'll oblige with the government's request for delay, that's just a delay and not a complete stoppage for an increase in the price of canned goods and other goods. I felt even the slight increase already even they're just a few centavo because I am the one that does the groceries. I guess it's not yet the price increase that they're asking to do.

The fuel was added even more because the effect of what is happening in Russia is also different; that's why.
There's another reason aside the war. The oil deregulation law made it worst.
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should i invest in this project or not on: September 18, 2023, 04:27:42 PM
Well now a days i observe the crypto market and now the trending topics is bot the projects like unibot , banana bot , unichat and many more giving huge profits to the early birds
It's mostly for every project that comes out too early this time. Those early investors always gets the prize that they want and that's why they've been the very first investors with any project that comes out. Is it wise? i don't know because some of them are lucky but majority of them are unlucky.

now i heard an upcoming project name Bubble bot and the website is Bubblebot.finance has a great potential and also spot trading, Hedge/risk on pegged asset, multistaking , future trading with limit orders and much more is offering on his telegram and discord bots and the team looks really competitive but my question is new projects are quite risky but also gives the huge profit so i want opinion from experts
These topics and similar ways of introducing projects as if you're all just new to it and recently have found it out. I wouldn't buy the story but you guys are good in entering into topics and making people read what you're trying to advertise. I remember some stories on how they've been hacked and that's through joining these type of groups that contains bots on their channels. Just saying....
657  Other / Politics & Society / Re: a slap on the faces of patriotic citizens on: September 18, 2023, 03:56:12 PM
We won't continue to live in fear without speaking our minds and telling the government how bad they have treated its citizens
Voicing out how terrible the government is will just get you out of nowhere if you're in a country that doesn't give importance to democracy. While it's a law and freedom to speak out what they're doing badly, the people that are in the seat vary. There are leaders who are happy to listen to their people and what they're doing wrongly. But there goes those who see criticisms as something bad and won't take them lightly to improve their administration. Luckily we're democratic and we've got freedom of choice and to speak whatever opinion we've got as a support or as oppose to the current administration and government that we're living it. Think of it as a privilege and not everyone equally gets that.
658  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH LESS MONEY? on: September 18, 2023, 02:39:59 PM
Yes, it is still possible to make a lot of money from a small capital but it is not easy to do so. Not only is it necessary to work hard, but sometimes you also have to accept greater risks if you want to use a small amount of capital but want to gain large profits. For example, in this market, investing in shitcoin and memes is also one of the ways to turn small capital into huge amounts of money. But like I said, to be able to do that we need to take bigger risks than others.
That's right, that's one way to make smaller capitals into greater profits but the risk is totally visible and higher than the traditional ones. Many have done that but it's also like an investing based on your luck since you'll get to choose the meme coins you're about to invest.

Why do we choose cryptocurrency and not other financial markets to invest in? Isn't it because we want to make more big profits from our small capital?
It's because that in those other assets and investments, they're the typical investments that we know. And having that said, they're usually low interest and profits there aren't as great as in the crypto market. So, with that tally, the different is at large and incomparable. But that's what you get for taking bigger risk while on those other assets or investments, you'll get lesser risk and most likely profitable gains but with smaller percentages.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 18, 2023, 12:52:48 PM
Still PBA related and I've just seen a post about this recently. The Gilas roster has only had 8 active players prior to the Asian games. I thought that everything had been set and again this post I've just seen was from the Basketball Republic Facebook page. Is this what politics can do to our national team? SBP and PSC should take their own actions prior to this tournament and the problem of having few players available. Since we've been invested into our national basketball team, they should give all the support that they can give to it and allow as many players as they can and those who are willing to commit to play for our nation team. But it seems that's not the case and many are avoiding it because of the politics that's happening on it from time to time. After the stint that it has got from its former coach, with the replacement of Tim Cone. Now, this is the problem that has been brought into it and they need to face it. We're optimistic that they'll end well on this Asian games but we've got fewer days for the preparation on it with a few players available.  Huh

Would you mind sharing the eight players left on the Gilas squad kabayan. Last time i've heard was that CJ Perez opted out of the Gilas or he was dispatched by coach Tim Cone as CJ Perez has an issue with regards to defense as we all know that Perez is an offense-minded player which is not to the liking of coach Tim because he wan his squad to be defensive minded in the Asian Games.
I have no info with who are those 8 players kabayan but it seems Abueva is out, I've just relied on their post but it seems genuine. There were some comments that there should be a 60 pool of players but Chot failed to submit that or whoever accepted that proposal didn't approve it.

I think players are not an issue here because he could get from SMC teams alone if he wants but it would be obvious if Mikey Williams will not be included in the line-up.
There is really no issue with the players because the majority of them are willing to play for our country. But the issue here is the higher-ups and whoever is handling the team and has a different interest for the team. It's just sad that the other leagues and Asian teams are excelling when it's PBA and our country have been so good all over these years but we're now seeing the downfall of it.
