Great news kabayan!

Clarkson arrives in Manila for Gilas stint

Quote
MANILA, Philippines – NBA star Jordan Clarkson arrived in the Philippines Tuesday to join Gilas Pilipinas in their upcoming campaign in the FIBA World Cup.

News5’s Martie Bautista managed to sneak in a question to the Utah Jazz guard as he was making his way out of the Ninoy Aquino international Airport.

JC is now in the Philippines so it's sure that he will be able to play with the Gilas locals. Hopefully no injuries will happen during practice as he is the best chance for the team to be competitive and hopefully we are going to get an upset win.

For the schedule, you can see it https://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2023/competition-schedule.pdf
Nice, we've been waiting for him. I thought that I am going to see another news about politics against him but no. Hoping that everything is going to be good and fine while he just arrived. Despite that it's just a short period for him to play along with the team, maybe that would suffice and he can adjust easily with his teammates since some of those he has played with already. I'm thinking of planning to buy a ticket maybe on a Tuesday game against the Italy since that's the schedule that I'll be open with but I'm still undecided.

They are locked into Lebron and AD and both are older and on the downward trajectory of theor careers.
This is so true. It cannot get better. I don't understand what Lakers are doing and what are they thinking for the next 2-3 years.
It's simple, they've got their own terms and still trust the two. That's why even if they're older, they're putting a bet on that roster and won't change anytime soon or have them traded. As long as they can still see the value in them, they'll continue to work with them until these two are the ones to demand a trade. We do understand that the value of these two are not that at its peak anymore and there are better options. But, that's what Lakers are for, they're impressed with what just happened on the last season when they're actually in the deepest and still managed to the play-in/playoffs.

We need to accept the reality that Jimmy would not be spending time with the Gilas Pilipinas to help them, not that he doesn't like it, but because he has bigger priorities being part of the coaching staff of the Sacramento Kings.
Not that bad to think that he might have little time in going with the Gilas and giving some of his time to help the younger generation and as well as the national team. He might have already migrated to the US and probably now a US citizen but for sure that he's still got a heart of a pinoy that just like JC, he wants to help the basketball in our country to upgrade and be on another level and whatever he has learned with the Kings, he might like to share it. Maybe not for now but who knows soon if he's going to be there and try to help in the best interest that he can.

Of course, they don't want to ruin what they've started. Last season, the Kings had a good run, so they are expected to improve next season. That's a challenging task for the coaching staff because if they fail to meet the management's expectations, they will be at risk of being removed, so they need to dedicate a full concentration for the job.
No doubt that the Kings did well and that's a great part of their history as they continue for the upcoming season. It's expected that they'll finish more than what they did last time. And it's understandable that Jimmy has a big task to make that happen.
1044  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: August 08, 2023, 03:39:19 AM

1045  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: August 08, 2023, 12:04:58 AM
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 07, 2023, 02:00:46 PM
Only about 2 more months until the NBA is back upon us. I don’t think there’s much room for surprise this year. The Denver Nuggets have been the young team on the come up for a while and I think they’re still the team to beat. I think Phoenix is the team that has a lot to prove. With their roster everyone should be expecting a championship.
I agree, Nuggets is still strong and while most teams are preparing for the upcoming season. The latest that I've read on some little info is that Jokic is still giving himself time to get into horse racing. So, it's like the NBA is his work and then his hobby and passion is with the horses. Not bad but for sure that when the time closes more to the actual start of the season. The preparation will be made and it's gonna be them that's still expected to get close to the finals as there's not that much change with their roster except a few.

But for sure Giannis wanted to prove something again, and with a healthy Middleton, for me they are a team to reckon. So it's the defending champion and a newly Phoenix Suns without CP3 in their lineup.
Giannis wants another ring and he just dropped a lot of points with his latest game. While people talk about these great teams, it's also exciting to see on how the Golden State Warriors will play with their new addition to their roster.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 07, 2023, 01:03:56 PM
Truly good news. It's a dream come true for Jimmy. And this only means that he's progressing when the Sacramento Kings have hired him to be on the back end. We've seen how the Kings made well last season and for sure this season, they're going to do better him being in the coaching and player development staff.

Maybe this is the answer that we are looking for. He can replace Coach Chot, as he sure can help the team improve, being part of the coaching staff of the Sacramento Kings. And who knows, maybe someday we will see two Filipino coaches in the NBA if he gets promoted again to become a Heat coach.
I just hope that the SBP will see this. I am sure that Jimmy would be happy and grateful to be part of the Gilas if he's being called to help them. But another thing is that, if he'll be allowed by his team since he's now going to play an important role for the players of the Kings.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You must do this if you want to QUIT or NOT on: August 07, 2023, 10:27:37 AM
Person who have dreamt of becoming rich through gambling would understand the reality of gambling within the initial days of gambling. Most of the person will continue not with the hope, but with a mind to get back what they've lost.
It sounds exciting when someone thinks of it as a possibility to happen. Well, the chances are there and never gone but it's slimmer for the typical gambler that just hopes on it and doesn't do a lot in life. Those that have understood that the risk is too high, they're aware of the potential and chance that they're taking. But the longer that you get along with it, you'll get to know the reality that you're doing with.

In the event of recovering the lost funds the person continues to wager and some gets lucky whereas the majority gets into addiction and the self-controlled ones stay active as they know well about their limits and have understood the complications of going behind the loss and looking for wins.
That's when emotion is startled. We want to recover because we think that it's very easy to do it and then we encounter the reality that it's not. The more that we're wanting to recover and even if we want to quit, we just can't because it's stuck in our minds on how much we've already lost and it's such a total waste if we can't recover a bit of it but still, it ends up badly.

May I know your thoughts about Near Protocol and Harmony ONE?  Huh Huh Huh
Not that much that I hear both of them but it looks like they're still at the top ranks. Since I don't hold any of them, the best thing for you to start with if you wanna believe on these projects is to look at their websites. From there, you'll get a glimpse of what these projects are all about and what they're working on. Honestly, with that way of checking these projects, I think that near has got some good things about its progress. But that doesn't mean you should invest already on it. Look at many markets where it has been and how they're doing as a project and progress that they've been working with. If you think that if all of those points are found in any of them, then start thinking whether to buy or not. It's not just all about the hype or what not but it's all about what you know about the project so that you're not naive upon buying it.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if USDT falls down? on: August 07, 2023, 01:59:14 AM
Am I Ok? Yes, I'm okay that's nearly 25000-26000$. I can recover that money just in 7-8 months only using my OnlyFans, ha ha  Grin
LOL, that's easy money for you guys who are content creators there.

The era of FUD on USDT for me is already done.
I agree that all of the bad news against it has already been defunct and that they've got a reserve fund or proved that they've got really that amount backing up the supply.

It's already 2023 and I will not see any FUD about the USDT depeg.
What is more likely is the other stable coins that can depegged. That's still possible and many of them could go out to the market when the bull run arrives. Tron network has just launched that type of stable coin and that's why it's another ugly impression and project done on it by its developers.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 07, 2023, 01:06:36 AM
And to add that statement, Ricky Rubio did a good job in his professional years and he did accomplished many achievements that others doesn't even had half of those achievements during their years playing basketball. Some players even played for 20 years but didn't accomplished as many achievements like Rubio had.
I reckon that was a hell of a career for him. That's why if he's saying that he has to step away from being a professional basketball then he deserves it. That's a lot of years for him and anyone who started out his career too early, he'll surely have to retire early as well.

In simple terms, Rubio has done enough and it's time for him to take some rests and handle the things that he should've handled years earlier, and this time, he should also prioritize his own health first that is why I agree with his decision to step out of the limelight.
True, because dealing with mental health is an important matter on his end. He doesn't know if he can still catch up if he's healed but let's just all wish him the best because that's all that we can do for him. While many feels that he needs a last run for the world cup, that's all and he's decided so we gotta give it to him.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be rich sheeple or free people, what's your choice? on: August 06, 2023, 06:53:20 PM
If it's just a wish then let's make everyone accept Bitcoin so that there will be no problems with the government. But I just don't like the twist that everyone is subject to listing their addresses and they can seize it. Well, I'd still choose that if the value goes that much and I'll just take the money, sell them anyway and will have my own exit. But yes, this is highly unlikely so these situations are good to think of but if we go in reality, hopefully that the best for Bitcoin and us will actually happen without the need to sacrifice those good attributes that it has got even before.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 06, 2023, 05:25:48 PM
I just think that we should consider that Rubio may have been like this because he played professional basketball since he was 14. This dude could be one of the players with highest epectation for a career out there ever. Imagine being epected to be great sinc 14, its been 20+ years easily. If you are lebron and achieve it then its ok but when you are not that good then it may hurt you in the end. This shouldnt be a big deal to give a break, do some stuff he has fun doing whatever he likes doing. Dont know if he is married or has children but if he is, spending time with them would be a good choice for sure. I wish him the best for rest of his life, I will always remember as a great passer and a good PG
I agree, he needs some rest. He's been on the pro scene since he's a teenager and I think that he deserves all the rest that he's about to do now. Mental health is a serious matter but still like nothing to the most people. I know that everyone will feel that it's like a waste of talent and career for him but the dude needs some rest. Being in the pro scene for 18 years and started at a young age, that's enough for him to retire though. Look at the other NBA players that did even retired earlier but he just need it. I'd give it to him and if he ever has a contract still, I am sure that his team manages to do the adjustments for him and understands the situation unless they don't want to do that and want him to honor the contract they've made.
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: August 06, 2023, 04:41:03 PM
Those that are happy to share what Bitcoin is, there's nothing wrong with it. I've been there and done that and those people that have rejected me sharing what I've known with Bitcoin didn't stop and lose my optimism towards it. I understand that I may be alone on this journey with my family and that's totally fine because we've got different paths to take and I've chosen to take the risk that I've been with because I understand Bitcoin. Just don't be disappointed whenever you see people reject you when you're about to talk about them. They're interested to know what people are earning with Bitcoin but, they are not willing to take it further because whenever money talks, they'll be there to listen. But upon pulling out some bucks on their pockets, they are not there and will ghost it.

I definitely agree with this. Despite the growing popularity of Bitcoin, not everyone is jumping on with the cryptocurrency trend because, to begin with, it is not made to please and encourage everyone. Some still remain skeptical about its long-term viability, which is okay. Whatever the reason, it's clear that not everyone is ready to embrace the digital future just yet.
In fact, at first, it's likely that many of us here have felt the same just as those people that have been negative about Bitcoin upon hearing it for the first time. With all internet scams rotating there on the web and just trying to look for their next victim, it is very understandable that they don't just want to jump on the bandwagon so quickly. So basically, it's take it or leave it when you try to do an effort convincing people but it's not really required at all.

However, as more and more business transactions begin to accept Bitcoin as a legitimate form of payment, we could see a shift in attitudes towards this. Still, only time will tell whether Bitcoin will become a universally accepted currency or whether it will remain a niche interest only for a few
Yup, time will tell until many of those pessimistic about Bitcoin will have to change their thoughts. But whether we're many or few, the important thing here is us. No one from those negative people will change our minds from being attached to it.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Legality of Online Gambling in Different Countries on: August 06, 2023, 03:31:09 PM
Yes, most Islamic countries do not allow gambling, but I think gambling is still underground because many people like to gamble. And even though there is a ban on gambling in the country, with this underground casino, people can freely play gambling. But only certain people know where it is.
Underground gambling or basically house gambling is possibly happening there. But as you've just said, it's exclusive to a very few circle of people and before they allow one, there's probably a tough process for one to be part of it because they'll never know if that person is just an agent and could try to track them down and will report it to the authorities that they're having some underground gambling happening somewhere else.

Meanwhile, the prohibition of gambling in other countries has made these people look for places other than underground casinos. With the advent of the internet, their desire to gamble online can be carried out. And yes, those from countries where gambling is prohibited use VPNs to avoid being banned from their country. And for the time being, they succeed in playing online gambling.
With the internet, it's been easier. Even if their telcos will ban the websites, you're right that there is still a way for them to access it through VPN or any tools that can block that access made by their own telco or government. It's easy for them to do that by just availing those paid tools which will surely be bought by them if they can't resist to gamble online.
1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A advise to my friend about his decision on: August 06, 2023, 02:41:35 PM
Are these stories that are being told in this section real? They're like coming unstoppable. Anyway, going on this discussion, someone who has received Bitcoins as an inheritance is likely to first do some research on the internet and will finally find it out that those bitcoins he has received has value. Maybe, the worst situation is that person don't like researching but I guess even the slightest interested person will do so upon receiving a gift or inheritance especially if it's involving yourself to receive it like a gift. Because in reality that I've found out, even if a person doesn't like bitcoin but if you offer to give it for free, heck they'll say and agree to it if it's for free.
1057  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ~If you must trade~ on: August 05, 2023, 11:54:37 AM
Self-control with your emotions and patience should be there at all times because those who trade with this are the usual successful trader.
What's the matter with the new traders out there, they're rushing and thinking that trading is a competition. While they see others earning from their trades, they think that they also need to profit even if the timing isn't perfect. It shouldn't be like but being patient will take them to the same results as those first ones that made their trades win.

Having your effective strategy can also be a big factor so make sure to have more strategies when it comes to trading and handling your emotions.
Winning strategy and decision making, looking at the market's situation are plain factors for a trader to win with his trades. But sometimes, there could be other factors and just don't be too emotionally affected with everything.
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 05, 2023, 10:24:14 AM
They need to negotiate and not just to accept that low baller, even Inoue will bring the most of the sale but the point that
Tapales is also a Champion/title holder should be consider in terms of the offers.
That's true. People will come over and watch for Inoue for this challenger despite we want to cheer Tapales on this one but we need to know how low balled they were.

With this news, it will open up an opportunity for Casimero to fight Inoue. I'm sure the former would be willing to negotiate, even if he gets a smaller share, as long as he can prove to the world that he could really beat Inoue. In the first place, Marlon Tapales wasn't in the conversation years back; it was always Casimero who shadowed Inoue. So, it doesn't matter as the fans will still watch the fight if Inoue allows Casimero to challenge him.
Whether it's with Tapales or Casimero, we're all for the support to any of our kababayan. But I think I'd love to see Casimero have his match against Inoue since after the last match of him with Donaire, it should be done but many things have changed and it didn't happened.

Or here's another scenario: If Inoue really wants a champion, then maybe Casimero will challenge Tapales. If he beats the champion, then I'm sure Inoue will be more interested in the undisputed fight.
So, it should be like a pass for both Pinoy fighters before they can proceed to Inoue. Sounds interesting. It's gonna be like a gateway before they reach the final boss which is Inoue.

Source (Youtube): https://youtu.be/LcEH6O0JbXQ
