62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why mega threads always be kept open on: February 24, 2024, 12:00:50 AM
Depending on the subject. If it sports discussions then they must stay because trades, injuries, coach changes, sign ups, and more are updated every day so it is necessary than gamblers must receive those news because it's a matter of the odds going up or down and their chance of winning can go slim or high.

Other threads though like questions for the rules in game or in the gambling platform must be asked on their threads so that it could be answered accurately by the their managers who are keeping the threads updated in this forum.

I understand the frustration but it's also the fault of OP if he is not locking his topic and it's not self moderated.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gary Gensler's SEC sues Crypto Influncers and posts on his Twitter as propaganda on: February 21, 2024, 11:46:04 PM
Glad to see more bitcoiners are realizing Gensler is not a friend of Bitcoin or the industry in general. Just last year whenever I would point out on these forums that Gensler is very anti-Bitcoin I'd have several people jumping down my throat defending him and acting like he was some sort of hero of Bitcoin lol.

Though with ETFs approved now and with SEC losing court cases against the industry Gensler's anti-Bitcoin/Crypto crusade is becoming less important, thankfully.
Those individuals probably thought he was protecting the public from fraudsters and prevent them from getting scammed by those particular companies which do so.
The entire time he was the one who would be funneling inconsistencies with his arguments about bitcoin on the whole.
Yes and yes. It's an attack not a defense for the public. He just made it look like that so he can get the support of them but people isn't stupid anymore when it comes to this, the internet did a lot of help and those who are helping float his black propaganda.
We all saw how SEC lost to Grayscale which means they are just prolonging the process by using those propagandas and then XRP too with their partial win against them. If something or someone will fight until the end, it will certainly be a successful one because the SEC do not really have the proof to stop it, they are just halting the process.

But I won't say I hate the guy, it somehow helped filter the cryptocurrencies that are legitimate and trash all the scammy ones. The regulation somehow made those scammy projects to back away.

Gary Gensler clarifies crypto stance post-Bitcoin ETF approval
https://www.cryptonewsz.com/gary-gensler-clarifies-crypto-stance-post-bitcoin-etf-approval/

Quote
That may not be the case, as is evident from Gary’s media interaction. Gensler has put out that even though the Commission has approved 11 Bitcoin ETF applications, that does not necessarily reflect their support for the digital asset, Bitcoin. Approval of the Bitcoin ETF merely points out how the product can be traded. Cryptos remain under the radar since most of them are unregulated securities. Also, there is a high chance that approving their ETFs without a proper review could initiate a series of incidents pertaining to market manipulation and fraud.
Yes, he is really against Bitcoin. Cheesy
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: February 21, 2024, 03:43:48 PM
Yes is does. Addiction means you will play every day at almost 24/7. Which also means there's a nonstop money spending. House edge will be the lost of a gambling addict. We cannot win against it.
You win 100 today and then 120 will be taken from you tomorrow. You just lost 20 percent of your capital and then it goes on and on.

Some gamblers don't understand this but do analyze why you are not winning in the long run?
You get a winning streak and then suddenly you are in a losing streak and maybe more. We must learn when to check out. If we win enough, call it a day, enjoy the profits, and maybe spend the time with your family using that money. I know it's easy to tell but difficult to do but it is a must.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: February 21, 2024, 11:27:57 AM
I didn't quit gambling because I still do it occasionally but I am not as active as I used to be. It sucks to be in a position where you the losing streak is more frequent than the winning streak, any day, any time. I know that is how online gambling works because it's a business but in a week without even feeling any profits seems to be unfair anymore. That's why that "provably fair" thing should be in question. Is that a legitimate feature or is it just there to encourage gamblers to keep on gambling?
It's true, it's not exciting anymore when that happens. This is why I prefer betting on sports now and I do it only when I like the game and it's national televised.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: February 20, 2024, 12:20:53 PM
Most of the time not. Grin I am unlucky with this kind of last bet suicide. I don't like it. I'd rather leave the casino with something in my pocket than leave it with zero. It already hurt enough that you lost most of your funds and then you are going to risk the last money that could've taken you home by means of transportation instead of walking. That would make you think a lot while walking without anything. All bad emotions will probably sink in your mind, regret, frustration, sadness, and anger. Everything. And I don't like to be in that position so I'd rather make haste to go home and see to it that I will be busy to avoid thinking about the losses.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: February 15, 2024, 11:09:52 AM
3 percent of my monthly income. That's enough for me and I won't go far anymore. I've dedicated that rule to myself so that I can keep the discipline and also I am avoiding an event that my wife will punch me in the face for gambling the money. Grin
For sports bettors like me it should suffice. I bet occasionally and I pick the games that I want to bet with. Filtered that I can win it with a high percentage unlike others who would make long parlays with high risk.

But I don't want to be judgmental, it's just my opinion. It seems to me like he was high on something.
Could be Adderall.
Quote
ADDERALL IN ESPORTS – WHY IS IT A PROBLEM
Adderall in esports is considered a performance-enhancing drug. While typically prescribed to deal with ADHD, it is widely used recreationally for fun and also as an aid to help concentration and technical skill. Students use it when writing essays or studying, and esports players use it to increase their performance. Even our own editor recall to using it recreationally during DreamHack over a decade ago just to stay awake for the event. He also recalls esports players using the same “batch” during the event.

Here is the comparison of the interview. And take note, fans are screaming and booing at that moment too.

69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: February 10, 2024, 03:58:24 AM
There was a time I made a post on this platform explaining how I see a time coming when Elon Musk will be making an effort to dominate the crypto world which will keep his wealth measured higher. Unfortunately, moderators of this platform deleted the post. Today it is coming to pass.
If its in the right section of the forum then I doubt it will be deleted.

About Elon Musk. I think the big question would be if he made an impact on the cryptocurrency industry. He made a lot of ruckus buying $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin, and then next to it is boosting Dogecoin.
So I guess he did made an impact in a different way. On social media especially, because those who haven't got a clue about it was suddenly introduced and maybe those who are pessimistic about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies changed their mind thanks to him.
The impact was seen at how Bitcoin rose to 5 digits in value because the demand suddenly sky rocketed and no one really expected it to be that fast.
He can definitely make a market swing thanks to his followers and connections.

Is he using crypto for attention of his product? I think he is. And now even X (formerly Twitter) is also reaping those rewards.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another attempt at Bitcoin ETF..You knew it was coming once BTC raised above ATH on: February 08, 2024, 12:50:17 PM
You just knew BTC would rise when Cramer says it is going to zero and it is for suckers post spot ETF approval. Cheesy

Even an Inverse Cramer X account noticed the bounce from $39k to $43k since he mentioned it on his show:

That dude is always angry. Cheesy
From $39k to $44k. I think it did well. Now, I want to see more of this Bitcoin ETF's being approved and I bet it will increase more.

I bumped into this while looking for more news.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs Record Nine Consecutive Days of Inflow, Fidelity Leads

Quote
BlackRock and Fidelity continues to see inflows for their spot Bitcoin ETFs eating the market share from Grayscale as GBTC continues to bleed amid high management fees.
Quote
On February 7, the spot Bitcoin ETF products recorded their ninth straight day of net positive inflows. As per data from Farside Investors, yesterday’s inflow was the highest for the month of February so far, at a hefty $145 million. Interestingly, this also coincides with Bitcoin’s 4% price rally to $44,500.
This is indeed good news and the competition is healthy.
Blackrock and Fidelity are now on the lead when it comes to inflows, Grayscale in trouble although the outflows are slowing down.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: February 06, 2024, 11:47:29 PM
I believe this are typical things that happens to a gambler. Greed will always be there because we are trying to win more and this is gambling, not trading. That's one behavior that is not easy to control especially when we are winning and feeling lucky on that day.

Over confidence in my opinion is when we feel like we are losing more so there's a little chance we will lose on the next bet which I think is a wrong perspective about gambling. We become more brave to keep on betting because of the idea that we won't lose anymore after a losing streak. It's a big mistake. Gambling sites will keep on taking whatever amount and there's no limit for it.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 06, 2024, 04:04:41 PM
That was just too stupid of him. There are other ways to complete the amount he needed but it should not be in gambling. Bank offer loans for those who needs and all he have to think about are the interest rates. Gambling it is not the solution that will help his problem.
Man, I hope he didn't do much stupider thing after he lost. It's not even a 50-50 in slots, the chances to win are slim that you might as well give it a try on other games than it. Before slot games gives back, sometimes it requires hundreds to thousands of bets.
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 05, 2024, 03:14:38 PM
After the defeat in Philadelphia, Utah Jazz defeated Milwaukee 123-108 at home. Their next game will be at home against Oklahoma, but Oklahoma is in great form and Utah has a tough job. Oklahoma's away record is pretty good.
Boston beat Memphis on its own field by a different score of 131-91.
In their last 8 games, Boston lost to Los Angeles teams at home.
It's like Boston is allergic to Los Angeles teams. It was surprising to me that they lost to both the Clipppers and the in-form Lakers.
This will be a great fight for Utah Jazz and they will prove a lot if they will defeat one of the best teams in the West. I am glad to see Sexton making a huge impact for that team. Now, Jordan Clarkson is whom I want to see stepping up his game. It seems like his stats are not improving anymore especially in their last 5 games.
I've seen him become an offensive player and even took the 6th man of the year. Now, they need him to show that performance again and maybe they will defeat the OKC if that happens.
74  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is buying like me on: February 05, 2024, 11:27:39 AM
That's good to hear. It is rare now to see people who will just focus on buying or accumulating more Bitcoin and then just holding it.
Most investors now want something to do with it so they end up DCA-ing. Keep it up because I bet there will be more good news to come and it's better if you are on the side of those who are holding than suddenly be caught by a pump while you are selling.
Good luck on your new journey.
75  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: January 31, 2024, 06:14:58 PM
Not just inflation, because there's no growth in saving. Put in a bank, wait for a year and you get what 1 percent to 4 percent APY? It's not worth it.
Imagine the other things we can do to our money than just letting it rot in the bank?
We could start a loaning business even if it's just for the circle of friends so that you could be safe.
Or, invest it with low risk investments but gives a higher return when you compute it against the APY of the bank.

I am not bashing the banking industry but that's how it is for a long time. They are the ones reaping the rewards giving out loan to people while it's not really their money they are using. It's the people's money.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 31, 2024, 05:01:28 PM
It already came before and after the approval of the Bitcoin ETF. Now, we are on a process of knowing what will come next. But I won't worry, there's more bull run that will happen because it ain't over yet. There are many applications for Bitcoin ETF approval and every news about it going near is probably a hype being resurrected especially in social media.
I'd just be patience if I were you, for now. HODL if you can but if you have altcoins you better monitor them everyday because it's difficult to know where they will go.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 31, 2024, 06:42:34 AM
Unfortunately the Bucks lost the game against the Nuggets, but as I have predicted, it's a very close match and it can still either go either in the last minutes. Bucks lead early and then Nuggets coming back strong, and in the last minute of the 3rd quarter they take a good lead with Murray's play. But then the Bucks make their own comeback, take a lead in the 4th. Nuggets though led by Jokic, another triple double trying to score and make a good separation. And when we thought that the Nuggets is going to win, the Bucks again, with 3's, Giannis hitting, to cut the lead to 2. But the Nuggets was able to play good defense and then score and it was the last straw by the Bucks as they lost this very close game.
Jokic was just too much for them, he is dominating the painted area even with one of the best block Brook Lopez is around, what more if they bench them, no one can stop Jokic anymore. Giannis tried but he always makes a bad decision to foul Jokic.
Also, thumbs up to Gordon for his great defensive play. He focused on Giannis and that big block at the last seconds of the game was a winner before he was fouled out.
Peyton Watson also did a great job on the defensive end. They need that because the Nuggets lacks defense and bench power.

79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase on the defensive about these bitcoin ordinal centralized meme coins on: January 20, 2024, 08:37:57 AM
@Reid
Not all projects are just rugpulls like these ones which are obvious to the well informed.
Coinbase is looking to list some which are doing well and have been around for several years now. The ones I have been watching are on the very network which I had mentioned earlier last month. And announced today they will be making a listing of them in the future.
This most certainly will increase the popularity of those projects and the pump in price will also follow.
Yeah, I do believe so too. There are good projects out there but let's take into account the percentage of that. I think it's very low.

And here comes another one.

80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be a hope restorer if we go about it wisely! on: January 20, 2024, 08:31:22 AM
It can be, or not. But do imagine the tense he must be feeling if that bet loses. Just thinking about it makes me shiver. Cheesy I don't trust my luck, I have more trust with my instincts and that is why I won't do the same as the example dude. But, I do praise his courage, you need a lot of that to make a bet that will change your life or not.
Where would he go if he didn't win that? Those kind of questions are lurking my mind whenever I feel like taking a large bet, which is why I cannot make it.
I'd rather stick with betting low and trying to win it back and forth or try a mega jackpot by creating my own parlays.
