What was done there was an effort to show cops that slaying a guy in the street with your hands on your hips as if he was not human is not acceptable.

So pollies and MSM whipped BLM into a frenzy to teach cops a lesson.

If you were paying attention, they tried several times before Floyd but weren't able to get it to "catch" because they were the wrong type of "victim". Even with Floyd, they had a very selective release of the video which, when the withheld parts were finally released cast things in a very different light. The damage had successfully been done by then, of course.

In short, it wasn't about Floyd, it was about stirring up civil unrest in an election year. Nothing really got changed and yet... *crickets*

Not only is Bitcoin NOT fungible it is ABSOLUTELY NOT fungible from a pure mathematical aspect.  EVERY satoshi has a pedigree.  You can trace it's origin all the way to the coinbase it was initially realized in.  And you can see the trail of addresses it is passed through to wherever it currently rests.

Not really. When you combine inputs you make the source indeterminate. Coins may taint coins they're mixed with if you want to take that view but that's something different.

Can you expound on this?

If I have a banned address and a good address and I combine inputs then won't my good address get linked to my bad address and chain analysis companies assume if you have the keys to combine you own both?

I'd hate to see someone burn a second address because this was misunderstood.

Potentially. That's the "tainting" I was talking about. Though there may be plausible deniability there in some cases and I don't know how LN plays into things (when it's not driving its node operators nutty).

I was just objecting to the "every Satoshi can be traced" which is just not factual. It's a bit nitpicky but I think important enough to bring up. Sometimes it's worth reminding ourselves that Bitcoin is a ledger and bitcoins are an abstraction that don't really exist.

Really?

Twitter has added Ethereum to its tipping feature..

...with retarted gas fee's.

They want Bitcoin but that stupid "Proof of Work destroying the earth" bullshit means their lefty virtue-signalling asses can't just go with the obvious leader.

You don't have to be intelligent to be elected to public office; just popular.  If you're popular enough, you can ever survive multiple consecutive annual (sometimes biannual) scandals - some of them involving not only unethical but illegal behaviour - and still manage to find yourself in a second term as a PM (hypothetically speaking).

You don't even have to be popular if you have the right letter after your name in the right place.

Third time today we've seen something like that. Something up with Bitstamp?

Weird.

Just checked the whether report to see when the rain is gonna stop, guess what, it isn't.
It's a ten day prognosis and it forecasts rain for ten days straight, Jippi!

Storms coming here tomorrow so I got up on the roof to take a look at what's been causing a leak and it seems that neither the people who replaced the roof last time nor the people who did it the time before had any fucking idea how to flash in a dormer window. Best I could do for now is slather some goop on but I may have to look at getting it done properly this year.

They made their point. Sure they had some public sympathy at the start when it was still a peaceful protest. After they disrupted a major city making thousands of people's lives miserable, then blocked international trade costing billions of dollars, support quickly dwindled.

Once you've gotten the message (or given it), hang up the phone.

It's not about a message, it's about sovereign ownership of their bodies. There is no "go home".

Nice tight framing on that picture, by the way. Really shows the crowds and crowds of counter-protesters. That's sarcasm, by the way.

Ugh, the cameraman's curse - finally get the perfect shot and some dweeb has to wander into frame seems to apply doubly for video. Been waiting three hours for a part to print so I could make a quick video using it and as soon as it comes off the printer, family starts well, not being noisy around my recording area but acting in a way you know it's just gonna happen...

I've also heard there's  some sort of sport involved they call football? But its not football at all. They mostly use their hands.

Don't worry, there's only about 11 minutes of that nonsense.

Only six series were made.
Just finished watching them and there were some really good ones as well as a few misses.
I particularly enjoyed “the trial of Elizabeth gadget from series two.

There is one show I see referenced in particular that I haven't seen. I'll have to look into it. Perhaps it was a special or something.

(Yup. Halloween special, 2018. Shame that Amazon didn't have it up).

errrr.... wut?

maybe someone needs to tell intel SHA256 on GPUs is a bit dated? unless im missing something..

"About the same as current ASIC technology" doesn't have the same ring to it.

The word "blockchain" has always pissed me off. Some morons seem to think it's the defining feature of Bitcoin... "it's not about Bitcoin, it's about blockchain, blah blah blah..."

And then they treat it as some magical talisman that can do anything and is ideal for any purpose, even ones which traditional ACID databases have been doing better for decades.

I tried looking for a place to start a career in the Bitcoin ecosystem. At least 2/3 of the stuff out there is snake oil in my opinion. More now with NFT nonsense.

Just finished consuming all of the episodes.
Definitely enjoyed the earlier episodes more than the later ones.
Interesting that the two writers were also the two main starring actors.
Quite a bit of talent there, but totally agree with your comment... "There's a few misses".
Regardless, thanx again for turning me onto the show.

It seems there are only six seasons on Amazon Prime (Britbox). I know there are at least a couple more. I'm going to have to track them down. Now, where's that eyepatch?

When JimboToronto asked where you got your hat,  I began working on a design for a TA style WO hat.  When sirazimuth prompted you to ask me, that was another step in the process but even if you had not directly asked me you would have received a hat.  It's the way of the WO.
As an aside, if Richy_T hadn't sidetracked me with that old song, I think I would have come up with a tile much more quickly.  That song is still stuck in my head.

Those old wartime songs are some of the best (though I am not sure if that one might predate it a bit). Anyone for a quick round of "Roll out the barrel"?

Keep us updated about the beehives. This is something i have been looking at doing for a while now, missed out on 200 acres of land recently, was going to do some kind of organic honey (not sure if this is possible, marketing ploy, more than anything else)

Photos would be nice as well, obviously with out giving up OpSec.

NO, not gay at all!

You don't need a lot of land, the bees will fly to find nectar and quite a long distance too. I had bees until they decided to starve themselves to death a couple of years ago. Still have five frames of honey in the freezer.

The Bitfinex thieves (or at least the ones that ended up with the coins):

The most interesting thing to me here is confirmation that the feds are taking an interest in financial criminal activity the crypto/Bitcoin world.

Fun fact: Nobody calls me Richy in real life, the username is the outcome of an unfunny joke somewhere around 1991 (also the result of me not being a joiner, now that I think of it). So it's always amusing when I turn up at a meetup from something online and people call me Richy.

We seem way too early in our adoption level (still likely less than 1% of the world's population) to be proclaiming that bitcoin is becoming mature enough to no longer have severe FOMO episodes.

That depends on your definition of severe, of course. I may just be being over-hopeful but it seems that the long winter where we trundled along in the low-hundreds with the occasional hopeful sign quickly pummeled even lower may not repeat itself that badly. Then again, I felt the other way about six months ago but was proven wrong. Have to adapt to the circumstances, however (though the underlying truth that Bitcoin is currently cheap still applies).
