well that's interesting.

The digital currency I created last year, Nautiluscoin, was designed to tackle this specific task. Blockchain technology has progressed rapidly over the last 12 months and we can now offer Greece a digital currency that is backed by gold and is integrated into a mobile-banking platform.

The mayor of the Greek island of Agistri has agreed to allow the island to be a pilot program for a new monetary ecosystem, which will use Nautiluscoin. Agistri is a small island in the Saronic Gulf that is ideally located 55 minutes from Piraeus, the largest port in Greece. The combination of the small size and convenient location makes Agistri a perfect candidate for a pilot program. Over the coming weeks, the infrastructure for this project will be rolled out and the citizens of Agistri will receive Nautiluscoin to begin transacting.

do we need to organize more dedicated seed nodes?
i don't think it would hurt, but given the # of uno block explorers some what redundant.

Ranking behind NOVA as the #2 scrypt hybrid POW/POS.

as an outsider suddenly more interested in UNB.

1.  I like a coin community that is ULTRA conservative on code changes.  Release and never fork.
2.  This slow block release is still a big problem.
http://www.unbmining.com:8008/chain/Unbreakablecoin?limit=100&offset=45041
20 days to mine 100 blocks?

Suggestion, stick to your guns, UNB is likely to not gain major acceptance in the next 300 days.  The market might appreciate the 'never fork' later.  But UNB will suffer severe ridicule in that period.

That said, forking in a gravity well, it is no major sin.

yes.  UNO has made a very good case as being the-SOV-commodity-the-reserve-coin-mother-of-all-crypto.
(see the chart) (see the fundamentals)

RE: the next 1,000 new wallets

i like this concept.  and i think it is a do-able project in less then 300 days.  where new wallets = new long travelers to join.

RE: utility

whole different subject.  but i have some ideas.  First let's establish the idea in the general crypto public that 1 UNO = $3, solid.  Then UNO = $1M market cap, solid.  After that we can answer the "what does it do?" question because it will be doing that DO.  more later.

@tertius993

in defense of the Maki strategy

He seems to target SHA256.

I can identify 3 core platforms: SHA256, scrypt, and x11

Each are industries into themselves.  All different in nuance.

SHA256 seems only to be stable if AND ONLY if you are MM to bitcoin or have clean hybrid code (very few do).

Outliners are Zeta and Maza.  After that risky.  But given the industry (read money backing it) hobby coins could turn the corner via stick mining.  Light bulbs of the future could and will mine on the side.

Scrypt algos are a little more abundant.  And it looks like 50 or more can survive.  China is deeply invested in this tech.

x11 is the most obsure to determine.  But Dash is leading the way.  START is actually pulling more hash.  Coins like CANN, KARMA, SMART, FRAC, even URO have a good shot.
6119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SMC] SmartCoin | Currency of a smart world | Cryptsy • DGW3 • X11 on: July 06, 2015, 05:15:56 PM
Re: hat tip

https://github.com/psionin

psionin deserves some thanks for a very nice github, very few devs see to the fact that:

1. sauce code
2. website code
3. seed code
4. miner code

are all public and open

kudos

@maki

Very well said.  And if any holds the honorific title of rare and lost cryptocurrencies collector master it is you.  I actually appreciate this endorsement of UNO, thank you.

I remember arkhash, and it had serious hash backing it too, then faded.  Sorry no leads on active chain.
