621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with crypto because taxation makes no sense? on: November 26, 2023, 10:18:40 PM
Yes, that's one of the reasons people gamble using cryptocurrencies. One is to avoid local restrictions and the other one to avoid taxation.
In case of a very large win, it might be profitable for a gambler unable to hide it to move before claiming the money. If you live and work in a country that taxes you heavily on your wins and can move to a neighboring country that doesn't, the choice is obvious. As bitcoiners say, vote with your feet and leave the country.
IMO choosing not to pay taxes in a country that steals from you is another way of voting.
We cannot possibly conclude that moving countries to avoid taxes, but crypto gambling is the solution to all taxation problems, licensed crypto gambling also has no problems with taxation so we need to avoid fiat gambling because they determine too high a tax on every winning bet. Actually I don't have a problem with taxation as long as they don't determine the high percentage that must be paid to the government, but 30% to pay taxes is unreasonable and any casino that deducts high taxes should be abandoned, they should switch to cryptocurrency gambling that does not limit high taxes from every bet.
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: November 26, 2023, 10:08:24 PM
Old generation can raise gambling habit on young or current generation, if that old generation has achieved something in gambling. If persons grandparents or great grandparents simply gambled from time to time or did it frequently, then future generation wont have any impact because of that. But, if relatives have won in a lottery, got lucky and caught jackpot, or simply won a huge amount, then this might trigger future generation to start gambling. There is no such gene as «gambling». It is not passed on from generation to generation.
You are right, there are no genes that can pass on gambling addiction from generation to generation unless they often hear gambling activities from their family discussions, it is possible that this can trigger to influence the new generation to make small bets in gambling, they hope to win high profits to be able to tell stories told his family that he could have the same luck as the older generation. I don't think the OP can persuade him to focus on other activities because he lives with a family that is already addicted to gambling, so it's hard to pull him out of the gambling habit his family has inherited.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 26, 2023, 09:53:48 PM
Without a doubt that is what happens and this can be terrible for a newbie gambler, because now what they want is to obtain profits out of gambling, and while we know that a few gamblers are able to do that, a newbie gambler does not have the tools to produce those kind of results, so they may begin to use way more money than what they originally thought, only to find themselves losing all of that money and not knowing what to do as that was money they actually needed in order to pay their bills and other debts they may have had.
The worry of new gamblers can lead to greed if they want high profits in every bet, especially if they ever reach a profit of x10 then greed can no longer be controlled to achieve higher profits, they will increase the number of bets and redeposit their money in gambling, so whoever is a gambler Beginners must be given the knowledge to gamble properly to avoid greed and the high risks of gambling. Another reason is that they speculate too much to get high profits from gambling but they don't know that the ratio of wins in gambling is much lower than losses, so they need to limit funds for gambling before they experience the risk of high losses.
624  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Berani mengambil resiko apakah salah satu tindakan menuju sukses on: November 25, 2023, 10:59:38 PM

625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: November 25, 2023, 10:58:31 PM
I agree that the war between Israel and Palestine seems to be getting hotter. We hope there will be a good resolution to this, because the war will have a big impact on the economy.
The market can change very quickly depending on the news released, remember the crypto market is very vulnerable to news, both good and bad.
I don't know whether the war between Palestine and Israel can affect the impact of the crypto market, even though it has had an impact on the economy because of the boycott of one of the companies, their share prices fell by 40%, but I don't know of any news sources linking the impact of the war on Palestine and Israel could influence the crypto market.

I think the current trend news is looking forward to the halving period next year, they are optimistic that the market will increase to reach a new ATH price.
626  Economy / Speculation / Re: What did you think will happen to Bitcoin before January? on: November 25, 2023, 10:53:45 PM
The halving trend will be a positive trend during 2024-2025, and this will make the Bitcoin market soar.
We all aim for an ATH to happen between those years, reaching an ATH of $100++ is still a reasonable target.

New investors are starting to enter and there will be more and more holders, this will make the price of Bitcoin go up even more.
But Bitcoin has already passed the last ATH price of $68k, and it will be a big wall to tear down.
The halving trend has been the main trigger for increasing market prices in the last few months and we hope that December will be the month of highest price recovery to approach ATH prices, but it looks like December is not a positive month for crypto because many people are converting their assets for holiday expenses, but I'm sure December This will be different, expect many investors to maintain their crypto assets until the halving trend next year.
627  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [NEWS] CZ Mengundurkan diri Sebagai CEO Binance on: November 25, 2023, 10:47:06 PM
628  Economy / Economics / Re: if you think 18k btc is low wait until autumn ... on: November 25, 2023, 10:38:07 PM
Bitciin price is highly volatile, this is a universal knowledge but its volatility doesn't translate to the degree of fall expected by the OP.

With a graphical illustration, if the OP had proven from chart that his points are factual, I will have given it a second thought but it's not possible as the chart only shows higher-highs and no lower lows in recent times.
Bitcoin price is ever growing
I think he doesn't have the basic facts for that speculation, the price of bitcoin is unlikely to return to $1k for any market conditions even the price of bitcoin is currently recovering at its highest price point, so he makes unrealistic speculations that don't match the facts of the crypto market, but everyone are smart in choosing the right news from trusted sources and they will not believe speculation without the support of an explanation that explains some points on the graph that indicate market prices will be negative in the fall.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: November 23, 2023, 09:54:15 PM
Sharing a small amount of winnings should also not be given in front of friends, but we can call one of them and give them the money so that they won't misunderstand that we will give the money to them one by one. But if it were our good friends or best friends, of course, we would definitely do things differently like our other friends. They will never feel embarrassed for something like that, but they might feel disappointed if what we do is different from what they imagined, but we only act according to what they do to us.
Everyone has the right to share their gambling winnings with anyone or choose not to share with anyone because they are gambling with their own money, so that is the basic point of this long discussion. You are right, we tend to know the attitude of friends who are worthy of sharing the winnings from gambling because they are good friends and they will also do the same if they are lucky enough to win from gambling, so it is impossible for us to share money with random friends and we will definitely be selective in giving money to a good friend. But sometimes some friends are unreliable, they are very calculating with finances and they hide their gambling winnings so they won't be shared with friends, but that's a fact and we shouldn't trust anyone too much in the circle of life.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: November 23, 2023, 09:20:35 PM
I don't think it's a problem if parents always allow their children in anything but I hope they parents should see and consider first from various sides, if indeed what their children do or the facilities provided by them can or are likely to make their children involved in the gambling network then obviously don't do it, and also on the other hand parents must always limit what activities their children do in their daily lives.
I think it is impossible for parents to monitor their children's activities every 24 hours, so they have to educate their children to limit the use of smartphones so they don't do adult activities and gambling networks, maybe there is an application to record activity history which must be hidden and parents must regularly check the history their smartphone every week, they know the history on the browser can be deleted but they check the activity history on the activity recording application which has been hidden.

However, age restrictions in gambling are already regulated in state regulations and regulations of every gambling, perhaps we see another benefit from requiring the use of validating KYC on gambling to avoid children being involved in gambling.
631  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dump market potential? on: November 20, 2023, 08:59:34 PM
It can be said that bitcoin is also a part of the economy, so there will definitely be negative/positive impacts if the world economy has problems. But those effects will not last forever, one day bitcoin will gradually escape the effects and recover. That's also what happened when the war between Russia and Ukraine was still tense, the world economy was still bad but bitcoin had recovered more than 100% of its value since its lowest price. So let's not let those effects affect our psychology and bitcoin investment.
Fluctuation markets will be vulnerable to external influences related to the global economy during inflation from the impact of the Russian and Ukrainian wars, but crypto prices have achieved an increase of %100+ in the last 2 months and the crypto market proves that the influence of inflation cannot forever stress crypto market prices, so many Other factors supporting Bitcoin's rise to reach high prices include news related to official ETF approval next year and many other news that have a positive impact on the potential for price increases to reach a new ATH in the next few years.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: November 20, 2023, 08:39:16 PM
Things that every gambler must avoid is playing gambling when they are bored, chasing to return capital and gambling over an excessive time limit.  i have also experienced this, but for now i will not do that again, when i run out of capital that i have set for today, i will stop, i will try to return my capital again tomorrow, because my luck will definitely be different. tomorrow.  The main rule in gambling is don't be greedy and don't chase after returning your capital one day, let it all start again tomorrow.
I agree, if we have set limits on the use of funds for gambling then if the funds have been lost then never make a deposit again, let you bet again tomorrow to get different opportunities. If the case OP didn't get lucky on the last betting amount then he has lost funds above $2k just for daily betting, even though he set a fund limit of $85 for daily betting but the greed factor to recover the loss he has deposited larger funds without considering the loss, I salute him OP realized his mistake and he has committed not to repeat the same mistake in the next bet.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 20, 2023, 08:23:51 PM
I see no real health benefits.

Mood improvement is so general you can in fact bend it to fit any claim. For example you could say that being a sex addict is good for your health because your mood improves when you have sex and addicts have a lot of sex, so they should be both physically and mentally healthy. They burn a lot of calories, feel good, have good blood flow, meet new people... Cheesy
Gambling can improve your mood but it can also make it much worse if you lose so it's a sword that cuts both ways. OP is trying to see only tell one side of the story, like saying that driving fast can improve your concentration, driving skills, reflexes... but that all ends once you have an accident and get injured or die. All the benefits disappear.
You are right, all the impacts explained in terms of the health benefits of gambling are only temporary fun when your finances are still stable and there are no high losses in betting, but when everything ends badly you will lose all your money which will trigger new problems which have an impact on increasing stress and other health problems.

Even though everyone has their own way to calm the mind, gamblers rarely mention the solution that gambling can be beneficial for health, I also don't agree with that opinion because the discussion about gambling being beneficial for health is not correlated, usually people want to get health in other ways without causing financial harm.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 20, 2023, 07:58:19 PM
I once thought about it in my first response, how bad it is to encourage addicts to continue staking, when their pocket runs dry. Yet, on the second note, even the casinos don't care about this either. All they care for is their money. Hence, Op's investment idea, though sounds wrong, it's still a business. And since it solves a problem, would still generate him wealth. Even the casino owner can decide to collaborate with him, because it'll also fetch them more profits. A kind of win win idea for business men.
My previous response was related to personal opinion but if it is related to the business aspect, he has analyzed the profitable opportunities from the loan business, even casinos also support this business idea which can benefit their side, because they don't care about negative perspectives but business is still business, all opportunities are utilized for get profits without caring about the financial aspects of the gambler. If the loan business has been released then you will be rushed to receive many loan reports every day, because gambling addicts don't stop betting before they lose everything or reach their target profit.

I think he has to make loan rules and he will select borrowers to avoid fraud who don't want to pay the loan, this kind of business is prone to big risks because proof of a loan agreement is no guarantee of getting the loan money back if the borrower has run away without you knowing
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 19, 2023, 09:19:35 PM
What you are trying to do will increase gambling addiction, which is wrong. I can say it's also going to increase the crime rate in society. If you give out a loan, maybe they decided to submit their mobile phone as collateral. If they lose the money, and I know they will want to get their mobile device back, they can end up doing illegal things just to get money to pay back your loan.

It's better you just get something else to do with your money. I am not in support of your idea. it's going to cause more harm than good to individuals and even to society.
I also don't support this idea, he takes advantage of gambling addicts who are experiencing losing bets to offer loans with a predetermined interest amount, they will take loans because they just want to have more funds to gamble and recover losses but their minds are not focused on the loans that must be paid high interest. I think he should stop the bad idea of how to invest in gambling which is wrong, he will create illegal actions from the borrower to pay off his loan and he also has no guarantee of being able to get the loan money back if the borrower flees to another region or country.

637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 19, 2023, 08:24:27 PM
1.) No, I don't think the family went to far here. They love their son and brother and want to help him as much as possible. Selling all your private property to gamble is extreme and he definitely needs help. The problem is that once you are above the legal age to gamble your family can't do much to stop it. Treating the casinos is one thing, but I am sure they know better and can't really refuse people just because the parents told them so. Also, if the young man really wants to gamble than he can find other ways like online gambling. The family should make an intervention and try their son to start a therapy. In such a severe case it would be best to visit a clinic for a few wwwks to make a hard break.
The impact of compulsive gambling has gone too far because he has sold everything to indulge his gambling addiction. He is lucky to have a family who really cares about his current condition, so the family has come to provide assistance and help heal psychologically. It seems that he really needs therapy to recover from gambling addiction and his family's concern will be very helpful to speed up healing from the effects of gambling addiction.

Quote
2.) Of course I would share my success with my family, why shouldn't I? My siblings and parents only want the best for me and their concern over my well-being just shows their love. In case I win millions I would give every family member some money. It's my parents who paid for me all my life, now it's my turn to return some money. I think that if my brother or father would win the lottery they would also give me money.
Agreed, they don't support us in gambling but that's no reason to ignore them if we win millions of dollars from jackpot winnings, they deserve to receive some of those winnings because they really care about us and they only want the best for our future. I would give them 30% and they would be happy to get that kind of money.
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can 1 satoshi be worth $1 in the future? on: November 19, 2023, 08:12:47 PM
Its not bad on being optimistic but we should really be at least realistic on things basing up on what we are seeing. Yes, Bitcoin does really have the potential but we should really be thinking up on numbers
which are really that something reachable and not really just that too far off or really out of the charts. Why?  If we do speak about $1/sats then imagine on how much 1 Bitcoin price would be?
Its not something that we cant really be able to witness or simply being impossible. There are even those talks about $1M/coin which it is already that too far or almost impossible.
How much more in $1 per sats?

It would be better that you should really be just go only with the flow with its price, dont make yourself that too optimistic or really that expecting on something like
this number on which we know that there would really be no assurance or something that cant happen even in our wildest dreams.
You are right, we have seen too much unrealistic speculation even though we hope for high prices but talking about speculation must be realistic according to the market potential which can reach that price in the next few years, we should not talk about price speculation per/sat but our current capacity for price speculation per 1 btc, unless the price is $1 million/btc then we can only review the price per sat because the price has exceeded our speculation limit, we hope that the price of bitcoin will soon enter the bullish zone to prove the $100k speculation that has been predicted for several years previously.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you in profit? on: November 19, 2023, 07:34:04 PM
Yes, that's good advice, basically if we've won it's better to secure the money and enjoy the winnings for other things, it's better because anyway all you want is victory, right? Therefore it is better to go to enjoy it immediately than to continue your gambling based on greed for bigger wins, you must understand that this is gambling where the final result is always unpredictable and maybe you also already know  that usually what often happens is defeat. On the other hand, in my opinion, a real win is a win that you can enjoy, and always set limits because that's the only thing that can help you.
I always apply positive things in every gambling win, withdraw profits and leave gambling to enjoy daily winnings, when you have withdrawn funds then that is the real profit you get from betting, the opinion of other gamblers says never follow greed to chase bigger profits if you don't want to completely lose the winnings you have obtained.

I haven't calculated my accumulated gambling history, but according to estimates I haven't gotten high profits from gambling, because I target low profits from daily bets and some bets also experience losses, but I minimize losses by only using half of the daily fund limit for gambling.
640  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 18, 2023, 10:41:43 PM
In small cities in Nigeria, the average middle class earns an income of roughly $200

Cost of living:
1. House rent (yearly): $400
2. Food (daily/1person) : $10-$15

Right now, the cost of living in Nigeria is very high. The problem is that prices keep going up but salaries remain the same, this has resulted in a huge gap between the rich and the poor. The smart choice will be to move to a smaller and less expensive city.
Hearing about the cost of life and income in Nigeria is fascinating. A monthly salary of roughly $200 in small communities reflects the economic hardships that the middle class faces. The monthly rent of $400 and daily food prices ranging from $10 to $15 show the financial stress that many people face. This look at economic dynamics emphasizes the significance of knowing local variations beyond official data in order to comprehend the true impact on people's lives.
This case does not only happen in Nigeria but in other countries too, I quote the average cost of renting a normal house is almost 2x higher than the minimum monthly salary of every Asian state, the average economic data of society is getting worse due to inflation and many people have lost their jobs. I think the government should release lots of job vacancies for public services and support micro-enterprise capital to restore the economy, one of which is supporting culinary food mirko businesses for priority foods that can be obtained at low prices.
