Two boring games tonight. Will probably stick with draws. Would have backed an Everton away win but they've been shaky the last few games and not won in all three of them.
Same here, I am also sticking with draws. I just hope it will be high scoring draws and not so boring games. Just read a bit of stats regarding Brighton - Everton and if you look at those xG stats Brighton should be 10 points above Everton and the situation is that Everton is actually 15 points above Brighton. Perfectly shows how good Brighton actually plays and how poor they are when it comes to finishing all those chances.

Well I got one draw right but not the score. Everton V Spurs tonight has a draw written all over it too. I certainly can't back a winner out of them. Both had a good run looking at their last seven games with three wins in a row at the start of it then went a bit shaky with some draws and losses.

Have you made your picks for the next round?
I've made mine today. I chose a very unpopular draw between Wolves and Sheffield United. They beat Aston Villa in March, so while they've been on the losing streak, I think they'll try competing seriously against the Wolves and might manage to end the game with a draw. It's very unlikely, of course, but sometimes there's this urge to experiment and to follow the gut. Another unlikely pick of mine is Leeds United winning against Liverpool. While not likely on its own, I cannot forget how just 5 days ago they won against Manchester City, so now it seems possible to me that they'll win this one as well. I'm actually a bit surprised that only three people (me included) picked Leeds United as a winner so far, but many haven't made their picks for this game yet.

I think Wolves should beat Sheffield but it'll probably be close, maybe just by a goal. I'm hoping Leeds do beat Liverpool and could see it happening but it's not something I'd back and will probably take a draw. Liverpool are probably going to have to go all guns blazing to try grab a CL place though and since they're out of all competitions that's the only thing they can go for.
622  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Just wait for April 14th, Coinbase listing looks like will be a record listing on: April 14, 2021, 10:37:46 AM
I'd be interested in acquiring some coinbase stock at some point and will be watching as it goes live but it's probably going to be ridiculously high when it hits exchanges and apps. It'll probably skyrocket, people will fomo in then it'll have a huge pullback as it starts to crash and people dump it. People are probaly going to look at this like the Tesla/Facebook/google of bitcoin so it's going to be attracting a lot of interest. I think it could be a good long term hold as bitcoin is really starting to attract more and more retail investors and newbs to investing but Coinbase has a lot of competition. It's a great site for newbs to start with as it's very simple to use with a clean interface but the fees are ridiculous especially for buying or selling large amounts so once people become confident they'll likely go elsewhere. There's also a lot of similar sites that do the same like crypto.com but they offer a lot more like dozens of other coins and getting interest on your holdings. There's also the rise of defi platforms and coinbase will probably have to start implementing things their competitors have to keep up with them.

People will go also crazy buying Crypto after they buy coinbase shares,
I doubt it. Coinbase is just another company among thousands that are selling shares on stock market. Companies with more stable situation and a longer history that stock market investors prefer over a company they have never heard of working with something (bitcoin) they also may not even have heard of or worse heard and believed some FUD about it!
Coinbase going public is a major milestone for bitcoin. It is the first major crypto-related company to truly go public. Holding a share of coinbase is not he same as holding bitcoin, however it is a metric as to the market's confidence in bitcoin's long term success.

Quote
and with a valuation of 68 billlion for coinbase, BNB will skyrocket in April.
You are confusing Coinbase with Binance.
BNB is a centralized shitcoin created by Binance and is pumped and dumped by them which has nothing to do with Coinbase.
BNB is a centralized token-coin created by Binance, not by coinbase. BNB provides utility to binance customers by allowing them to pay lower fees while using the binance exchange. I would not say that BNB is as worthless, nor pointless as the majority of altcoins out there.

I could be wrong but I think he's saying that it will have a knock on effect as people look to buy 'shares' in the next best thing. I'm sure it will have an effect on other coins that give some sort of dividends like Binance or Kukoin etc.

Two boring games tonight. Will probably stick with draws. Would have backed an Everton away win but they've been shaky the last few games and not won in all three of them.

Even worse is that tomahawk gets the 1.5 points with that win.
Is anyone actually chasing toma? 😂
I gave up looking for the first spot long ago and I am sure no one else is going to have it except him. To my surprise I just check the round result so far and toma is leading with 6 points 🤣

Everyone is chasing him. Or at least everyone in the top 10 or so. Or at least should be. It's not impossible to beat him but his consistency has been impressive. I think any of top 5 can take him with a very good round or two though. I think it's going to be a struggle for me to get back into the top ten and stay there. It's so close around there that the positions will likely be changing every round. Best I can hope for a big win this season is the £5 bet I put on City to win the quadruple which is looking pretty doable right now. Also had a tenner on Bielsa to win a manager of the month award. He hasn't yet but I'm hoping after beating City on the weekend that if he manages a point at least from both Man U and Liverpool this month he might grab it. Both are at home for Leeds but don't know how much of an advantage that is given the current circumstances. They do have a fairly easy last month in May so maybe he'll pick it up then and maybe he deserves it for keeping Leeds up and doing as well as he has done with them.
624  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Indymoney - loan default on: April 10, 2021, 04:52:08 PM
Just saw this but I thought this was going to happen as some of the explanations seemed very suspicious to me and they sounded like typical excuses. He probably could have saved his rep if he chipped away at the debt over time with his sig campaign earnings but looks like he can't even do that now. He still owes money for the PL pool entry fee and I kept giving him extensions on that and I told him to make sure he pays this loan back first. He stopped playing a while ago as well which was a bit silly as he could have potentially won some money to pay you back even if partially. I know he probably got himself into a situation where he can't pay it all back but he would have been able to pay some of it back at least but with a tarnished account even that option is impossible now.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 10, 2021, 04:30:02 PM
There's a hell of a lot of people who need to make their picks still. 26 so far. Don't forget there's a game on tonight. Many miss the friday evening ones. It's Fulham vs Wolves so I'm sure it'll be a forgettable game over all. It's got a bore draw written all over it. Maybe even goaless.
I just revised my picks and is favoring Wolves for tonight. We could see a boring match but let's see if Woves can manage some points. After Liverpool and West Ham, Fulham should be a less fighting team for them and they may try to take this chance to earn some points.

Anyone has any idea about West Ham vs Leicester match in this round? I can't pick a side LOL

After all the things we said about Adama Traore in the other threads,,, I said a lot this week haha,,, he finally got his first goal of the season and it was a nice one to win 3 points for his team in injury time!.

I honestly thought it is all over but happy for 1.5 points (I picked 0-2). rdbase went crazy and picked 5-2 !!

Any surprises today?

So annoying. Thought I was gonna get the full three points with the 0-0 but they were stolen from me in the last minutes of the game. Even worse is that tomahawk gets the 1.5 points with that win.

^  Yup.  Leeds leading by a goal up at the first half vs City.  Lol.  Leeds got a red card towards the end of the half tho.  So 2 - 1 (my pick) is def still live.  But 3 - 1, 4 - 1 is now more likely imo.

I thought City would win by a few in this. Leeds played well especially with ten men. Thought the sending off was a bit harsh. Thought Fernando's tackle later on was worse and he should have been off. They really need to start sending players off when they make zero attempt to get the ball and their only plan is to take them out to stop a risky attack.

Wow what a result 2-1 to Leeds ! Congrats to Sojourner- the only person to pick a Leeds win AND get the score right too ! Is this the start of a dip in form for Man City ?

Sojourner often has crazy scores where I think to myself what is he doing but then they've gone and come in haha.

Wow what a result 2-1 to Leeds ! Congrats to Sojourner- the only person to pick a Leeds win AND get the score right too ! Is this the start of a dip in form for Man City ?

Not necessarily the start of a dip, City played relatively well it just happened to be one of those day when things can't just go your way, I rather see this as a "form correction" instead of a dip  Cheesy

They'll be alright. They didn't have their full strength team out and are likely saving some for the CL game next week which is much more important as they have a nice buffer in the PL. They did dominate the game and credit to Leeds for throwing a lot of bodies behind the ball. There was a handful of great goal-bound blocks.
626  Other / Meta / Re: Ledger database leak --> Phishing on: April 09, 2021, 11:40:05 AM
A class action lawsuit has been filed against crypto wallet firm Ledger, Shopify for a 2020 customer data breach as reported by the Block   https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/100860/ledger-shopify-class-action-lawsuit-filed

According to lawyers, Ledger, as part of its obligations to customers, should have made sure the Shopify service was safe. The companies will have to explain why they delayed in notifying users of the problem. The firm estimates the damages at more than $5 million

I was wondering if anyone was going to start a lawsuit over this. Not sure how successful it will be and it's obviously mostly shopify's fault than ledger's but maybe it'll set a new precedent if it is successful, but one thing I do hope is that it calls for better storage of customers data. If they can't keep this safe then there should be consequences. I already hate giving out scans of stuff signing up to exchanges especially when I know it can end up leaked on the web and can lead to doxing of users here. If these companies cant be trusted to keep things watertight then they should probably lose their licence or companies should withdraw from using them.  I tried signing up to a crypto platform recently and not only did they want scans of my stuff but a selfie with my ID. Fuck that. They don't even ask for that when you open up a bank account here or on some other investment platforms I've used so no idea why this is necessary and I don't fancy a picture of me with my ID potentially floating around the darknet. The irony is once this sort of info gets leaked it can and will likely be used for malicious stuff so it kinda becomes pointless especially when people start committing crimes in your name with your ID and docs. I wonder how they even store this stuff. Once received do they mark or brand it somehow so nobody else could use it if it ever was leaked somehow? It needs to be better encrypted at least. Once it's verified nobody should be able to see it other than maybe law enforcement if they have a warrant. I saw that facebook had a huge breach leaked onto the clearnet recently including Zuckerbergs personal phone number. If companies can't be guaranteed to store this stuff safely then they shouldn't be allowed to hold it in the first place.

A measly three points from that round and dropped out of the top 10. Not sure how I didn't get the wooden spoon as it doesn't look like Steve made any predictions as he got zero, but it normally doesn't count that person if they don't make any picks as there's a handful of people who have seemingly given up and they don't show up on the weekly charts if they don't make any picks.

Nooo, damn you Batshuayi! A 1-0 Everton win would have gotten me 3 points and would have placed me top of the table for this round before the last game.

Same for me. Really could have done with those points to save me from a disastrous round.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 25, 2021, 11:25:16 AM
They're still there for me:

Not showing on my end though

What region are you guys in? Is gambling legal there? Maybe there's some regional restrictions and they removed the odds/gambling stuff.

I've never been asked for payment to see them either. Maybe they only show them in certain regions now? They're not there for the next round but it's far away so that's understandable but I'll keep an eye out for them appearing.

There is Superbru Premium for $2.39 / month though not sure if it will include the odds but yeah Its not really an important feature. I can just look it up at flashscore

Yeah, I was aware of that. I thought about buying it back in the beginning for the pool because I think it there's options to remove the default picks and also not being able to see users scores once theirs are locked in, but I think they only accept card payments and my name was already filled in with the name I signed up which is Hilarious Andco and you don't seem to be able to edit it so the payment would obviously not go through and I wouldn't want to potentially expose my name to the pool/site anyway.

Would you buy Tesla using your Bitcoin or you will wait to $100K?  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin might be 100k by the time this goes live...or worth much less  Grin. I think I'd purchase one if they roll this out in the UK. I want a cyber truck so I'm hoping they scale them down a little and release them in the UK as they'd be too big for UK roads right now. Buying a cyber truck with bitcoin would definitely seem like the future  Cheesy.

How many players are getting the rewards? Top 10? The 1st post is from 2018 and I'm lazy to search the thread.

If anyone has the rewards distribution at hand, please share so we know where we're at.

I'm like 7 points from top 10, maybe reachable with some luck.

1st 0.1
2nd 0.05
3rd 0.04
4th 0.03
5th 0.02

6th 0.01
7th 0.01
8th 0.01
9th 0.01
10th 0.01

The figures in the op are correct. The thread is just updated with the new info every season. Crazy to think 0.1 is now worth over £4k. Not bad for a £40 fee for whoever wins it. I guess even the 6th-10th place consolation pries are now pretty decent at 0.01 each.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 23, 2021, 09:36:50 AM
tomahawk is running away with it to be honest. 18 points clear of 2nd place with only 8 match weeks to go. It’s possible he could get caught but I don’t see it tbh. He’s been in the lead for so long & totally deserves 1st place prize if/when he gets it.

Consistency is key but all it takes is one bad week or two and the tables can turn. I would be very impressed if he does manage to hold onto the 1st spot place though especially with only 18 points lead as we can see from the high scorer table that people can get that in one round so all it takes is one bad round to slip up. I guess he just needs to not slip up but he does have a nice buffer which can probably afford him to have one or two even less than average rounds.

Are you guys using the app as opposed to the desktop as that seems to be missing them (or at least is currently).

Im accessing the page from my desktop and there is no odds shown on the page. It used to show the odds though

For me the odds seem to be there for a few weeks then disappear for a week or two and ask you to spend $3 a month for them.  Feels like that's happened a few times now, might be my imagination though.

Definitely not your imagination, It was shown for a week or two as well on mine iirc. Spending $3 for the odds when I can have that for free from flashscore, lame Superbru

They're still there for me:

I've never been asked for payment to see them either. Maybe they only show them in certain regions now? They're not there for the next round but it's far away so that's understandable but I'll keep an eye out for them appearing.

Another impressive round from tomahawk9 who takes the yellow cap again. Only got a solitary point from the West Ham game and I was lucky in that as they came from 3-nill down. No games until next month now.

Don't forget about the game tonight. 21 players have still yet to make their pick for it but it seems a handful of people have given up already.
I had my picks few days earlier and I was thinking I had 1 - 2 win for Leeds yesterday but now checking on my account just realized that it was 0 - 1 lol

On superbru they do not nave odds anymore, they tried it only for few weeks.

Imagine if you got perfect you would only have 12 points from this whole week:)
Every week after making my picks I tell myself this is the week and I will have my best score (few exact picks with all correct picks) but after ending of each match I find myself regretting why did not I go with x or z combination LOL

For me the odds seem to be there for a few weeks then disappear for a week or two and ask you to spend $3 a month for them.  Feels like that's happened a few times now, might be my imagination though.

I can still see the odds. They're there on the round that has just finished but not on the next one but that's understandable as it doesn't start until the third of next month so they likely won't be offering odds yet. Are you guys using the app as opposed to the desktop as that seems to be missing them (or at least is currently).
634  Other / Meta / Re: Writing a welcome message on: March 19, 2021, 01:50:00 PM
It looks kinda new, but even if its not, arent those what a welcome message must contain?
I would probably like a warning about the disconnect/non-relation between ranks and the trustworthiness of a user. Probably another caveat would be to never trust anyone blindly, and a few nudges towards the sticky threads.

As it currently stands, a Newbie would have to wander into the Meta board and notice the "Unofficial rules" thread to get started on learning about the forum.

Meta is usually the last place newbs go hence why they need to be directed to the rules upon sign-up. I'd also like to see some warnings in certain boards that maybe are only displayed to newbies/Juniors and they go away when you achieve Member rank or something (or you can just turn them off in the settings) but I think these warnings would be good reminders to people to use caution and will at least save some users from being scammed.

Don't forget about the game tonight. 21 players have still yet to make their pick for it but it seems a handful of people have given up already.

I also just realized now there are only 4 games and in fact it seems to include 1 game that I already had a pick from before so I guess they moved that from a previous week to pad this week with an extra one.

Imagine if you got perfect you would only have 12 points from this whole week:)

They're tricky games this round so I'd be surprised if people got more than two scores or even outcomes right. I'm still debating whether to go for all draws for every match. Most of the strongest teams are playing away and I definitely don't trust Spurs right now especially after losing to Arsenal and the stuffing they got in the Champion's League.
636  Other / Meta / Re: Notifications for moved topics? on: March 18, 2021, 10:02:30 AM
Problem is, new members can't navigate well in forum and they don't receive any notification in case their topic is moved (like in this case) and we can see this happening more than once.

This was his reply after he noticed his thread was moved:

Hi everyone,

I will answer all your questions today, I am new to the forum, I didn't notice the thread was moved.

If you use the Show new replies to your posts feature then it shouldn't be a problem as it will show up there regardless of where it's been moved to providing someone has posted in it, or just look for threads via the Show the last topics started by this person link in everyone's profile. It would only be an issue if someone is manually looking for their thread in a specific sub board and obviously it wasn't there but that would be a pretty inefficient way to keep track of your threads anyway.

My question:

Is there a way to add some kind of (optional) notifications when thread that member started is moved to some other board?

I'm sure theymos could implement a notification but automating it would likely be a bit more difficult that simply getting a message for a deleted post. I don't think it should be a priority though especially when there's much more important things that need to happen on the forum.
637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 18, 2021, 09:56:08 AM
Didn't watch it but did back the win even though a draw was tempting.
I had a 1 - 1 draw but it was hard for me to settle with a draw pick so few hours before the match starts I went with 1 - 2 for Liverpool. I am glad I changed my mind.

Anyone know why there's only four games this round?
FA cup games are played this weekend and that is why we are a bit short on games.
This could be the reason. I was also wondering WTF is going on lol.

Maybe we will not count this round for group winner? It's just 4 matches after-all.

Well that's up to Sportsbet if they want to issue it or not but it's still a round regardless of how many games there is. Some there's been less than ten and one round was pretty much a double so it averages out.

Anyone know why there's only four games this round?
FA cup games are played this weekend and that is why we are a bit short on games. I am really screwed with my Fantasy team was expecting to field solid 7 or 8 players and then Son and Sake get knocks. 2 of my main candidates for points in this small game week.

And then we have that boring National teams break, should be world cup qualifier games I believe.

where do you play fantasy football for Premier league?
yeah, there is only four matches, and it will probably be a list of winners in this round, there is a small probability for one to be different from the others

I am getting closer to top 24 in the pool, which is great after bottom start

As Trofo said the Premier League have their official one but lots of other places have them including Superbru: https://www.superbru.com/premier_league_odds_fantasy/join_tournament.php

I can never be bothered with fantasy teams though. Too much work to keep on top of haha.

Can someone explain to me this:

activity = min(time * 14, posts)

what is min and what is "comma" posts. I just never seen a comma in an equation so I am not sure what to make out of it. Smiley

z

I wouldn't overly concern yourself with the formula as it is confusing, but basically it's saying you can only get 14 activity points every two weeks and to get those you need to make the 14 posts. However, you only need to make one post in each activity period to get the potential merit and you can collect the rest later by making the required posts. Everything is explained here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0

Where exactly does it say the merits that are needed for Hero and Legendary? I remember Full member being at least 100 merits, but this thread doesn't mention the required merits, only the activity.

Also, I don't get why Legendary should be within a range of numbers. Isn't this a little unfair?

I'm not sure why theymos made it random but I think Legendary should be fixed at 960 merit to follow the format of the other accounts. I also think a new rank should be added at 1920 activity but maybe make it a very high merit requirement so only the best of posters achieve it.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 17, 2021, 09:42:38 AM
Anyone know why there's only four games this round? Are they rescheduled ones that they're squeezing in? Next round doesn't seem to be on until 3rd of April either. International break or something? These four games are tough ones for me. Can't pick a winner at all and are all looking like potential draws for me. Might actually back them all as stalemates since there's only four. At least one has to come in  Cheesy.

0 - 1 win last night. I was not sure that we were going to win but still I had a 1 - 2 just to support my boys.

Honestly speaking we are not improving. Poor attack, sloppy defense and not much control in the mid field. This is not typical Liverpool.

By the way, I am back to top 10 again but very close to kick out again.

Didn't watch it but did back the win even though a draw was tempting. Things would have been looking pretty bad for Liverpool had they not got the full three points. Arsenal away for them next round which won't be easy given they're not playing too bad recently.

When you mention about giving to charity you do mean directly right, or do you mean to donate it to the forum and allow the moderators/admin to forward the donation? I am trying to work out where the higher title you refer to comes in to play here.

Well I envisioned it as being like the current Copper Membership where you pay to the forum and the rank is automatically credited to you, and then every month or quarter or whatever the forum donates it to charity. You could have a public vote on where the money goes or something. I suppose you could also personally donate it to a charity of your choosing but that would require manual verification by staff somehow to make sure people don't cheat it. Signing a message from the address you just used would work but staff will still have to verify that unless you could automate the verification somehow.
