The key can also be found on github, so they would need to hack that too. Emailing won't help either as you still can't be sure. (If you're that paranoid...) Other than that, this article may be of interest to you: http://www.rubin.ch/pgp/weboftrust.en.htmlThe linked article is very interesting - thanks. However, it merely raises more questions. - the AT&T Path Server is evidently offline, with its return being in doubt. Is there an alternative? - why is there not already a web of trust relationship for Wladimir's key? Or if such exists, how do I learn about that? gpg does it for you. Or rather you build your own web of trust using it. Like Parazyd said you sign keys of people (which ideally you have met in person and checked their key fingerprint and ID). Others you can assign "trust". Depending on steps outlined in [1], if some of those people are in Wladimir's web of trust too (one way or the other) then your gpg will trust his key too. That is at least my understanding. [1] https://www.gnupg.org/gph/en/manual.html#AEN385As for the graphical representation it's nice, but not necessary as gpg will do it for you anyway. There is a graphical implementation for #bitcoin-otc [2] for example, but of course only for people who submitted their keys there. I guess AT&T stopped it because it used too many resources. But again, graphics are nice, but not necessary. [2] http://serajewelks.bitcoin-otc.com/trustgraph.php

It was commented on here: https://bitcoin.org/en/alert/2014-04-11-heartbleedIs your expected balance still there? I would think a hacker (if they could have) would have lifted all your coins instead of putting a password on your wallet? Why do you still use 0.9.0?

His step 1: 1. When you set up your computer, connect it to the Internet as little as possible. For bitcoin air-gapping that is already not acceptable. You just don't connect it to the Internet. He talking about " set up". He means, that at the first boot something anyway shall be downloaded from the network. Which would suck if you picked up a beastie during that process, wouldn't it?

Different wallets are for different use cases. Bitcoin Core is more something you'd use everyday. Paper wallets are for longer term storage (even though apps like Mycelium make spending from them easy). You have to decide what your case and paranoia level is. Any plans for the Auto fan, Spondoolies-Tech? Is it possible?
No, but the miner source code is open. Ok. Every other miner I owned that had this feature had it done in the firmware. Edit: nvm, I thought you meant cgminer by "miner source code". All code is here: https://github.com/Spondoolies-TechThanks, I've found it yesterday. There is a bit about PWM already, but I don't know if it's applicable to the SP20 or if it does what I hope it to do. I also spoke wrongly when I said that they all had it done via firmware. Habaneros fans at least were controlled in cgminer. I just think it's a pity. The temp sensor is there, the PWM fan is there. All is missing is the code (which I won't be able to do, because of lacking programming skills).

There is good post "Schneier on Security" from 2013 year about Air Gaps: https://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2013/10/air_gaps.htmlLooks like it is still actual. Most of Bitcoin's users could just follow him with their 10 - 20 BTC in cold wallets. Holder with 1mil$ in BTC probably would like to hardening this way little bit more. His step 1: 1. When you set up your computer, connect it to the Internet as little as possible. For bitcoin air-gapping that is already not acceptable. You just don't connect it to the Internet.

I believe the problem is not malware infecting your computer through the the power cable, but existing malware leaking information through the power cable.
This could be avoided if running the computer off batteries, which are only charged from main when they are disconnected from the computer.

Well the amount of money Dubai have, they can buy all the Bitcoin at once if they want.
Actually Dubai is in the shits and is owned by Abu Dhabi. Pretty much same difference though.

Check your contract for a "fair use" clause first.

A quick search will find the torrent for bootstrap.dat .
Also look for the connect= command.
But yeah, it takes time.

He asked about *this* one. It lasted ~48 hours. We're going sideways since then for ~90 hours

Has BCI given any explanation about what went wrong with the humanware? Did the programmer violate any internal protocols by updating the patch without checking it? What are they doing to prevent similar problems in the future?
There's a single developer, no controls, no testing. Single developer ? How do you know ? They are running a million dollar business !!! More than one according to: https://blockchain.info/about
