Spectre will deliver the most up to date privacy cryptocurrency that surpasses the anonymity features of Zcash, DASH and Monero.Keep an eye on this project it looks very promising.
We are currently brainstorming ways how to present the unique features of Spectre to a wider audience, but quickly put it works like this: Spectre nodes that use Spectre Tokens (STs) are ordered in "groups". Ring signatures are used to hide which node of that group has signed a transaction with. And Tor is used between each of the nodes to hide the identity of the nodes. So there are 2 levels of Spectre anonymity that one can choose from: 1. You use Tor, but make normal transactions that can be verified on the blockchain. Then you have a normal public key as your pseudonymous identity, which is protected by using Tor. 2. You use Tor, and additionally use the ring signature system for sending and receiving money. This is where the "stealth addresses" are used. In this case, nobody knows if you have made any transactions at all or not. Your transactions are fully anonymous. The advantage of this scheme compared to others is that it is incredibly simple and robust, and has high performance and security at the same time.

Hi Gandalf,
I'm trying to install this wallet for the first time, but my wallet will continue to update. I've up to 92.7% downloaded and there the wallet will continue to sync, but nothing happens.
Normally I would install a new wallet, but I have already transferred 300 xspec to this wallet address...
I'll hope you can tell me what to do.
Thanks in advance!
Please join the Slack channel #support_client on our Slack, where we can help you interactively (asking questions etc.) to solve your problem.

Hey is this now a new thread or some sort of reactivation of an older project? Anyhow related to Spectre?
Yes, I explained on the first page why we made a new thread.
|
|
|
Someone should update the 1st post with current info with the new wallet links etc, as coinmarketcap still links to this thread as the announcement. If its not possible to update the 1st post, maybe change coinmarketcap to the new thread if that is going to be the new official thread.
Good point, sent a ticket. The new thread should be the official one. We can't edit the first post because mandica is currently inactive.

What is the approximate ROI on staking?
Look at the wiki link I gave you 5 posts ago It's 5% p.a.
|

What is the current status of this coin being available on more exchanges?
Being on more exchanges does not add anything to the value of a coin IMO. You can trade Spectre on all the exchanges listed here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/spectrecoin/#marketsBittrex and Poloniex will add us when they feel like it; Yobit is better not to be listed on lol.

Quote of myself from above that got deleted by some moderator and was intended to be right under the two spaceholders by beachguy, to contain this post... Awesome project! For all those who are interested in this project, you can read up on the specs and history on this wiki page that I am currently writing: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoinI have been with this project since the ICO at the beginning of this year. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but recently it's getting better with jbg as our project leader. We have decided to create a new thread because the old one ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1704473.0) was created by mandica who is no longer active, so we had no control over the ANN contents etc.. You can be sure that the current website and ANN will have more information being added to in the following days and weeks. We are currently a small but committed team that mostly consists of community members like me. There is still lacking a solid marketing and PR strategy (as you can see in the contents of the website and ANN), but it's more like an incremental process that we have to figure out and add to step by step. The goal of Spectre is to have a coin with superior privacy and censorship-resistance using Tor. More details can be found on the wiki page. Using the Tor network in an appropriate fashion (not as a proxy, but as a medium of communication) is a whole new step in the space of anon coins, and personally I really like the concept. The extended goal of Spectre is to have an app that allows the user to join the Hawala network ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawala) securely, which means anonymously, digitally, and without leaving any traces of transactions on the phone, which will introduce a new concept called Spectre Cash. Spectre Cash will consist of so called "minted" coins only (Spectre Tokens) that will be spent using ring signatures without the users notice. (To be clear, the ring signature thing will be without the users notice, not the spending of coins ) More details about this will be added to the Wiki page at some point. The Slack invite is not linked in the ANN yet, so here it is: https://slack.spectreproject.io/There are currently a few bugs in the wallet, that are annoying but not critical. One of them is that sometimes the wallet shows a balance of 0.00 even though the balance has been received and is fully accessible. This is currently being solved by jbg. Feel free to ask any questions, I will not be leaving this project for quite some time.

Thanks for the help Gandalf86, I have around 15MI, this value I believe may already have Staking, or I'm wrong ... thanks for your help
Yes you should. Please make sure that you are using the latest wallet and that you have network connections. Also the shown time (1h in your case?) is wrong, it can still take days or weeks until you get a stake, assuming you are running the wallet 24/7.
|
|
|
Bet, I'm telling you about Staking, when you leave your coins in the wallet, with the wallet open, with no lock, then with the wallet open, for a period of time that in my case appears in 1h in the middle, where there is an icon Of an up arrow, that would be to receive some dividend of the currencies that I have, previously in the old version I received these "prizes" and to some time does not work more, if you still do not understand my question I send another one.
Please take a look here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/Espers/wiki/FAQ#10-is-staking-broken-does-it-workHow much ESP do you have?

Espers and Deep Onion seem to both be some of the best coins for the $$$$ I am making it a point to hold both for the looooong term. Actively buying both. Actually, you shouldn't be buying DeepOnion. Its "slow airdrop" scheme essentially means that the founder still owns 90% of the coins, even though the market cap is already >1 Mio USD. Nobody will notice if he sells for like $5,000 a day, and he has plenty of time to do so due to the duration of the so called "airdrop". If you are looking for a serious privacy coin that still has a low market cap, take a look at Spectre: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1704473.0Sorry for the Offtopic Someone is able to bet on WALLET ESPERS, still does not work here, can someone help me or is there some tutorial! thank you
What do you mean by "betting" my friend? This is not a sports betting game (well in some way it is, but that doesn't have anything to do with the wallet). I'm confused about what you mean. Maybe try to ask a real question.

why don't the devs work with the creator of this alternative site and make it the official site?
For a reason that only people who have deep technical understanding might understand, or people who come from an IT security background: Technical correctness. It's a value in itself. Technical correctness and cleanness is more important than having bells and whistles. Javascript is not good. It's running other peoples code on your computer, without asking what it does. HTML is a markup language, not designed for interaction. And most importantly, presenting information, like a homepage intends, does not require interaction! It can be static, reducing the overall complexity and maintenance effort. Furthermore, reducing the sites complexity also reduces the size of the website, which will be relevant for people who don't have such a high-speed internet connection, who are also part of our target audience. Tor Browser with high security settings blocks Javascript by default as well, which breaks the "alternative" site. JBG is a high quality dev and he understands the importance of correctness when writing software. The goal of this project is to be of high quality, to provide the best technical solution. That's also how the Tor integration was built. Having a simple, static website that focuses on the content is more important than having a site that looks flashy, but at the price of unnecessary complexity. So to me, it leaves a very good impression. It looks competent and clean. 100% perfect!

I tried to compile the Linux wallet but failed. Come to Slack, the help will be yours.

It's asking for an email on spectre.cash but that site is down. Any other way to join?
What about taking a look at the ANN? There is a link labeled "Slack invite". Well, 99% wont buy this coin if they visit their website. There is like no information at all, not much social media (reddit?) and it just looks like a bad wordpress site. Are there any news for a new website/design? You all know that this shit sells.
It's not a wordpress site. It's a static site compiled with Hugo, which produces secure static websites. It is small and doesn't require any Javascript or external dependencies. Information is sparse but will be added to. Other resources so far are:

Wow the butthurt is strong in this thread. I came to read about the coin and all I see is people fixated on the price and attacking each other. Why can't we all be friends?
Yeah there is some negativity here. On Slack it's all sunshine though. We're a closely knit community, many are trying to help (including me). We're making plans for development as well as marketing. jbg, the main dev, is solving problems and being very responsive. Videos are made, wiki sites, the homepage is being extended and translated in foreign languages such as Chinese and Farsi. It may take time but it's fun and we're in for a big future! You are welcome to visit us on Slack. There is a new (unofficial) homepage that was made by a community member, which can be seen here: http://www.spectrecoin.info/I will add detailed comparisons with other coins in the coming weeks in the wiki article: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin

When do I get my ATB tokens or coins I invested in ICO??? I sent ETH directly from my ethereum wallet. Its been almost 2 months now Jeez. What amazes me the most is that there are still people who fall for shit like this. - POS means that someone just clicked a button to generate the coins, and now is asking for your moneyz.
- How can it have cloud mining, I thought it would be POS? If so, how do I mine? Sounds more like staking to me, and it doesn't add any value to the coins created in step 1.
- Who determines the price?! The guy who created the website? This is hilarious
- What is the total coin supply?? Yes, 50 million created during ICO. But what is the current supply? Is there a max supply?
- Why is there no block explorer? Probably because it being a scam would be obvious then.
- 0.00042766 BTC/ATB at a coin supply of 50M would give a market cap of 76 million at ICO btw., which is still way too much for crap like this. Probably it is much bigger. Somewhere I read that there are ~300M ATB coins in existence, which would make an ICO market cap of $461 million. Do you really think that people will give you 461 million for nothing?! Note that the website owner just decided that this is the current market cap, because he sets the price.
- This thing is not listed on any exchange. He's not even trying to make it look legit.
- Oh and he keeps selling coins even after the ICO has ended, and while POS is already running. Must be legit.
Seriously guys, come on. Even if your wallet displays a balance, there is nothing you could do with it. You've just sent your BTC and Ethereum to a newbie account who writes a lot of text. The only thing that confuses me is how you managed to keep this thread almost free of scam accusations, and only have unexperienced members praising it without having a moderated thread. In previous threads there were some claims of it being scam, but oops - new thread! See the prevous threads here:
