If you had the decision to pick one business or product/service you would like to see accepting XPM... what would it be? and why would you pick that?

I think you may be charging too much right now for your advertising.
Converted into dollars (feels kinda dirty but its how we currently find the value of a BTC) You're charging about $0.07 per exposure or a rate of about $70 CPM. (Edited to add that this is if you have just one advertiser. If you fill all advertising spots, these numbers need to be multiplied five times!!!)
I can buy well placed and reasonably sized newspaper advertising for $0.02-$0.03 per reader or an ad' on television for $0.01-$0.04 per viewer.
Banner advertising costs vary greatly but I can generally buy a well placed banner put in front of a relevant audience for a $16-$50/CPM rate (CPM meaning cost per thousand) on my local paper's website and ad' agency rates often test new banner ad spaces with a $20/CPM rate.
That you seek to soon double these prices seems even further unreasonable.
Take it for what it's worth but I think you should express your rates in CPM, lower your prices and focus on growing your user base.
Its good insight but the direction would be if i wasn't spending 50% of the income into more advertising... also, we are keeping it exclusive at this launch to only 5 advertisers ... then we might add a little more later. Sure, in the affiliate/publisher ad space, this is up there; however, we have more users jumping on board daily and using the app. Simple 'bitcoin' search will see this app among the hundreds of other apps. This app ranks well on the top of the Android Market Charts for the Keyword Bitcoin. So, yes, the advertiser is getting ad space; however, they are also being recognized in our advertising campaigns throughout other Bitcoin sites that we have now added a resource ... >>> "coingig.com" the EBay market place for Bitcoiners" <<< as an example.. The value can be tweaked or determined however you see it as a investor or business owner, but as a 'exclusive advertising partner' you should see much more value than the 1.0 BTC of an investment. Android only shows 1,000+ users .. which can rank from 1,000 to 5,000 anywhere in between since it takes 3+ days for updates in stats... if it reaches 10,000 + it would be 10k to 50k users. So the 1,000+ is only a limited number at the minimum while it can range from 1k to 5k at anytime... especially RIGHT NOW. We are advertising and Bitcoin is on a huge trend to the top... So more people are looking forward to it. Not to mention, this app is available for the Chinese markets, where Bitcoin is continuously expanding. Like I said, Growing Traffic Daily, Top Ranked, On-Going Advertising Recognition with Advertisers Money, and 24-hours turn around to get the Advertisement online. |

My experience with beeeeer is that it mines more or less what I would get on average from solo mining.
If you have lower end machines that probably wont find a block anytime soon I would probably recommend beeeeer, admittedly I haven't tried ypool.
The only problem with beeeeer is I worry about miners disconnecting. I am not sure if this has been fixed in latest versions or not.
Never had that issue again...try the new 0.6 miner out, it's faster too and has a lower reject rate. ivanlabrie, are you seeing any success with pools at all compared to solo? Solo seems to work alright with 10-15 vps if you want to mine 2-3 blocks a day from what I am seeing atm.. not sure. I am still using HP10 so far with a 24 hour run. |
