1241  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitLasers.com - Handheld Lasers and accessories on: June 20, 2013, 09:28:08 AM
What is the main purpose of this laser?

Looks all good.. first time I have heard of such product .. maybe I don't get the purpose.

I'm opening up a little store selling handheld lasers and accessories for bitcoin!

These lasers are all built by me from parts, so these are pretty much unique. You won't find this powerful lasers except on a few select sites, and my prices are also usually lower.

The lasers are sold in semi-assembled states. Some assembly is required, though it is very easy, takes only a couple of minutes are require no tools or experience. Selling the lasers like this makes them legal to import, so you don't have to worry about customs.

Now, I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH: If you want to buy a laser, you must absolutely understand the dangers involved. A split-second of the beam hitting your eye, and you might permanently damage your vision. These lasers are absolutely not toys. I sell protective glasses and I absolutely encourage that you buy and use them. These lasers are also prohibited in some countries, make sure you know the local laws.

I figure bitcoin is mostly used by geeks (no offense Smiley ), and what does a geek love more than a badass laser? So take a look: http://bitlasers.com

If you have any questions, please contact me on this forum, or at gitlem@lavabit.com .

1242  Other / Archival / Re: [BOUNTY] Info leading to criminal arrest in ASIC Theft. John K. Escrow on: June 20, 2013, 05:59:16 AM
Think about? Who did you recently give your address to? and how public was your address, name, and phone number?

Sometimes all they need is a NAME from your eBay listing, and that's how a crime can start.

Hope you find the person. This does suck, and its crazy that someone would really do that.

Current Bounty
BTC50

Current USD amount of bounty

https://blockchain.info/address/1E36mb8tWuEarA9b99v179CoAkudoadzQS
Bounty is escrowed with John K. and open for donations. Please read below for more details

Bounty Details
I am offering a minimum of 50 BTC for information leading to the arrest of the individual that broke into my house and stole a Batch #2 Avalon ASIC. The burglary occurred at exactly 10:10 AM CST on May 31st 2013, 2.5 days after listing on the forums and eBay. I live in North DFW, in an area with one of the lowest crime rates in America, so this is not a coincidence. I have kept quiet about the burglary while police investigate, but I feel now is the time to take action and provide a little incentive for catching the criminal.

I want to stress that the primary goal of this bounty is not to retrieve my Avalon, but to ensure the criminal who invaded my house and privacy serves due time in prison, and prevent this from happening to anyone else. With that said, I want to encourage those of you that may have purchased a stolen unit second hand to come forward with information about the individual you purchased from. The bounty is available to any individual that provides information leading to an arrest.

Who is eligible, how can you help?
Everyone is eligible.
  • Purchased a secondhand Avalon off of eBay, the forums, craigslist? Please contact me. If you are able to provide identifying information on the unit, we can move forward with locating the criminal.
  • Provide information on your thieving friend or someone you've seen bragging about stealing an Avalon. I can't imagine someone willing to break into a strangers home has close friends. Surely someone will be willing to rat their criminal buddy out.
  • Upvote on reddit. The bounty needs as much exposure as possible to attract an informant.
  • Donate to the bounty and help spread the message to lurking criminals that we intend to make sure they don't get away with major theft. I am not the benefactor of bounty donations, and donations can be retracted after each 30 day period(More details in Full Terms). In the event the unit is returned, as a donator, you will receive a percentage of the Avalon's mining power for the life of the unit(no less than 1 year)

Full Terms
  • Bounty is run in 30 day intervals, starting June 19th 2013. At the end of 30 days, I will decide wether to continue for another 30 days or not.
  • Donators have 24 hour period after each 30 day interval to retract their donation. In the event the bounty is called off, donators will receive a full refund. If you do donate, please remember to donate from your account(not Mtgox or another online account). This will ease the refund process if necessary.
  • In the event the unit is returned, donators will receive a percentage of the Avalon's mining power, equal to the percentage donated to full bounty.
  • Information must lead to criminal arrest of an individual connected to the burglary. This must be verified before receiving payment.
  • Bounty is escrowed with John K. John has been given specific information regarding the case and should only be contacted if you are uncomfortable with speaking me directly

For those of you with ASICs on order, or coming in soon, be careful! There are criminals out there willing to break into your house and take your property. It's easy to forget how much this hardware is worth, and what people are willing to do, when you paid a fraction of the current value.

1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a WordPress plugin to receive bitcoin tips from your blog readers on: June 19, 2013, 05:09:06 AM
Have you already had 500+ people test out the plugin yet?

How are you collecting feedback?

I just made a WordPress plugin to receive bitcoin tips from your blog readers. It was inspired by another thread on this forum. Every blog post gets its unique bitcoin address for tips, which are immediately forwarded to a single address defined in settings. This allows for detailed stats of tips per post, so you know which texts your readers appreciate the most.

You can configure it to receive email notifications about new tips, display simple stats of post tips, and more features and coming soon. You can read more and download it on the plugin home page: http://terk.co/wordpress-bitcoin-tips-plugin/.

If you like this work, tips are appreciated, as well as feedback and spreading the word about this plugin (e.g. you can upvote it on reddit). I believe this plugin can be helpful in promoting both tipping culture and bitcoins in general. Let me know what do you think.

Thank you...for your succinct post...7 characters...K

I will eventually, but I'd rather find the threads or emails or something first. I doubt he was just appointed by Satoshi randomly. There must have been a vote. A vote from the original 24 other accounts before him. Maybe sirius appointed him?

1248  Economy / Services / Re: John (John K.)'s escrow service (previously known as johnthedong) on: June 18, 2013, 07:12:54 PM
You are welcome. You earned the good words. Because of people like you who do business with (integrity) that makes it a positive experience.

*Maco puts on a Smile* Smiley

I am writing a review about my experience with John K's escrow service. I have never tried a middle man escrow service up until recently when the buyer and myself agreed to take on John K's service. It was a challenge for me as a seller of a complete business to trust this process. However, after taking on the services with John K, he made myself and the buyer feel at ease throughout the entire way. He provided us with information that we needed to know about 'step-by-step' and answered all questions we were unsure/certain about.  This helped make things a lot easier. After the buyer agreed to let the funds go to me (the seller) it was almost Instant that John K responded and funded the transaction to the wallet address. He informed us the entire way of process, and the transaction was completed successful.  I was extremely satisfied with my experience and I know who to go to for the next market place transaction: John K's escrow service.

Thanks again John. Keep up the good work!

Thanks again for the kind words, and just drop me a PM anytime you need me. *John gets teary-eyed*

1251  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] GTX 550 Ti Anyone selling one for gaming? on: June 17, 2013, 07:22:03 PM
I am looking to buy one for about .5 BTC, anyone selling one?
1252  Economy / Goods / Re: Business For Sale: Great Opportunity to earn $140/sale on: June 17, 2013, 08:35:21 AM
Stop covering for him.

Let's look below at an accident you made:

Sounds way too good to be true. How can you possibly afford to pay $140 commison on a $10 sale?
+1

obvious scam is obvious

I don't need to explain anymore to you, nor would I trust selling you the business. Look at your rant.  That explains your character very well.

The real buyers know what this is all about.  I have all the proof this campaign is legit, and details of the payout. I'll have that ready for the buyer.
1253  Other / Off-topic / Re: I got the email few minutes ago.. [XBOX ONE] PRE-ORDERS ARE HERE on: June 17, 2013, 07:41:00 AM
What part of it did they handle poorly or in your words 'ridiculous' ? It seems fine to me.

I have to say I have been loyal to Microsoft for years, but the way they handled the xbox one is ridiculous.  For someone like my cousin who just plays offline because he has other expenses,  I guess he is just supposed to miss out on next-gen gaming. And he cant tether his phone its a old sprint flip phone. Then the insult of oh "the offline device is a 360" really Microsoft. Im sorry to say but sony will get my business and display its awesomeness in 4k for my eyes. Until or if microsoft get there logical thought back.
1254  Other / Off-topic / Re: I got the email few minutes ago.. [XBOX ONE] PRE-ORDERS ARE HERE on: June 17, 2013, 07:40:03 AM
You are right. I fixed that part so others know.
There isn't anything wrong about the affiliate link,
but the email was really what I received from them.

Affiliate link. Be careful

Thanks for letting other know, I did edit it to make sure I stated that.
1255  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Los Angeles (SoCal) Bitcoiners Meetup? on: June 17, 2013, 07:34:47 AM
That's great. Anyone from Bitcointalk there? or was it outside the means of people from this forum?
How was the meetup organized?

there was recently a bar meetup and open air exchange with 30 people
1256  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: If Bitcoin dies... what could I do with 50 GPUs? on: June 17, 2013, 07:27:32 AM
Sell them quick enough before the market is flooded with newer and better GPUS that ultimately put yours into no purpose

My estimated time of Bitcoins dieing (lets say?) the year: 2020. Don't ask why I think the year 2020. I'm just speculating.
(I hope that doesn't happen) but your GPUS will be no good in 2020.

Let's say Bitcoin (and all alts) goes to zero because Nakamoto was wrong Smiley. What could I do with 50 GPUs besides selling them, have fun with my kids (and the whole school) or replace my home heater with them?

Any ideas that have been implemented? Like starting a "gaming center" or process proteins...

1258  Economy / Goods / Re: Business For Sale: Great Opportunity to earn $140/sale on: June 17, 2013, 07:02:45 AM
His opinion added no value to the thread, so there was no business to conduct with him in the first place.

This thread isn't about having a discussion about what he thinks is stupid or not-stupid.
It's a market place for buyers/sellers to communicate and conduct ethical business.

You are an idiot for talking for no reason.
What a nice way to conduct a business... Roll Eyes

I am also wondering why the Fee is that high? and what makes this MiningPool better than most others?

It seems as if your pretty close to the others in the features.

Are we missing anything that you didn't share with us yet?

If not, no biggie, I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Thanks for getting into it and sharing this with us.
