GLBSE was shut down without notice at the operators whim. It was not forced to do so by any third parties.

Very much this. Nefario's posturing trying to suggest some sort of agency was involved is just that many more lies coming from him (and he has been lying through his teeth, for that matter).

The simple fact is that at the time of GLBSE's implosion MPEx was doing more trade per month than GLBSE's total historical aggregate. You'd think if some sort of law enforcement was involved they'd have talked to the 90% rather than the ~5%, right? Well...they haven't.

Nefario lied. End of story.

Its because Law Enforcement cant even find MPEX.

It's more likely Nefario's lawyer advised him to not continue operations.

Dude, where the $$#$ is my dividend?
[/quote

Good question!

Sorry for the delay this month. I'm currently travelling with spotty internet access. I moved some funds into MPEX today and will be sending the dividend out within 24 hrs.

Total dividend on mpex will be about 1721 BTC

Thanks for your patience.
Awesome and thanks! Smiley

6287  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] G.ASICMINER-PT on: March 04, 2013, 12:51:09 AM
I was wondering how long it'd be before another cropped up.  Wink

How do you get paid long term if you don't hit 5000?

This has actually been in the works with friedcat for 2~4 weeks.

What do you mean by how do you get paid?
Dividends are dispersed.

Sorry.  'You' = DeaDTerra

If 100% gets paid out of the divs, how does DeaDTerra get paid?

Why does he have to proft? This PT was designed weeks ago to be an offer to help asicminer holders have somewhere to trade. Not to be a money making scheme.
It was also to help friedcat not worry so much about people who want to trade/exchange their shares, and take some burden off of him to focus on asicminer.
What issue do you have with trying to help and support the community?

As you should know, making an exchange requires a lot of time and effort to do it right.

What are you on about?  I thought this was DeaDTerra's asset?

I'm all for community service projects, but even non-profit managers get paid something.  (I used to work for the National Cristina Foundation.). The problem with free volunteers is they have to put food on the table somehow eventually.

G.ASICMINER-PT shouldn't be a permanent asset (unless friedcat decides to permanently postpone his exchange).

Take a look at Steam. They can afford to give away Portal, to make Alien Swarm free, to have TF2 & Dota 2 free to play while not forcing or requiring anyone to pay. They let other retailers like amazon sell their steam games, and they can do it because they want people on Steam. Similar situation with BitFunder I guess.

Steam pays those developers for their games.  By that analogy Bitfunder would be paying DeaDTerra?

Edit/Add:  just pointing out that the analogy doesn't fit.  Don't infer anything else please.
Valve owns steam, and they get a ~30% cut of game sales. So even if you don't pay for one of their games, they still will make a profit from you.

Anyways, letting more people on BitFunder benefits everyone who uses BitFunder. Not just the asset issuers which includes DeaDTerra, but also the users of the exchange due to the greater liquidity.

DeadTerra also works up the sliding fee scale on BF and will pay less fees for selling assets. Plus, like mentioned in the OP pooling together 5k shares gets you a board member seat.

I'm just pointing out that there are numerous direct and indirect benefits DT gets from running this asset Smiley

If Andrew Bitcoiner doesn't get a scammer tag, then more people are going to get scammed out of their coins.

While we wait, any chance you can setup a test server we can play around with to keep us distracted?
Is there much point in that?
6298  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: March 03, 2013, 03:37:38 AM
Any ideas why the share price is diving right before the dividend release? Last trade was barely above the last tranche evorhees released.
I had been wondering when the ownership of the shares is taken for the calculations.  If for instance it is midnight UCT then regardless of when the actual payment is shares could change hands without affecting the payout.  On the other hand if the calcs are done on the basis of share ownership at the time of payout then selling up prior is not the best idea. Maybe MPOE-PR can clarify?
I'm pretty sure it's at time of share payout.
6299  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 03, 2013, 02:53:39 AM
The dividends may not half if ASICMINER deploys more machines , but at the current hashpower + difficulty yes the dividends will hash. The question is more of, in the future what will the ASIC market be?

Anyway, if you have ASICMINER shares, exchange them for BTCINVEST bonds! Your ASICMINER shares will be added to the btcinvest fund, and the dividends will of course be paid to shareholders (including you), while you benefit from diversification.

I will offer (not binding) 5 BTCINVEST bonds per ASICMINER share. PM if interested.
