6722  Other / Politics & Society / The central central bank, BIS is literally above the law. Literally. on: February 07, 2013, 01:37:03 PM
You probably never heard of the BIS. But guess what..
Quote
Maybe we'd feel better about the BIS if it were more transparent, but most everything about it, including its bi-monthly member and board meetings, is shrouded in secrecy. And perhaps more worrisome is that the BIS is free from oversight. By rights granted under its agreement with the Swiss Federal Council, all of the bank's archives, documents and "any data media" are "inviolable at all times and in all places." Furthermore, officers and employees of BIS "enjoy immunity from criminal and administrative jurisdiction, save to the extent that such immunity is formally waived . . . even after such persons have ceased to be Officials of the Bank." Finally, no claims against BIS or its deposits may be enforced "without the prior agreement of the Bank."

In other words they can do whatever they want, without consequences. How's that for a leak-proof legal umbrella?

6724  Economy / Economics / Insightful and well done documentary: "Overdose: The Next Financial Crisis" on: February 07, 2013, 11:30:21 AM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ECi6WJpbzE

With the US raising their debt ceiling, are we in a global bail-out bubble that will eventually burst? This doc offers a fresh insight into the greatest economic crisis of our age: the one still awaiting us.

The financial storm that has rocked the world began brewing in the US when congress pushed the idea of home ownership for all, propping up those who couldn't make the down payments. When it all went wrong the government promised the biggest financial stimulus packages in history and gargantuan bailouts. But what crazed logic is that: propping up debt with more debt? "They're giving alcohol to a drunk: it just sets him up for a bigger hangover.

6729  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does this design suck or not? on: February 06, 2013, 01:15:09 PM
New design is much, much better.

Some suggestions still:

Pull out the About box and "Stats" boxes, so they fill more of the user panel to the right. Ideally you want to have as much whitespace at the right side of the box as on the left side

Reverse the descriptor:value order in the stats boxes. Putting the descriptor on top makes it easier for the brain to digest the information.

Something needs to be done about the funds display to the left. I would suggest getting rid of the darker framing entirely, making the currency denominator more black and centering both items horizontally.

Either make the left and right panels the same size height wise, or considerably shorten the left panel to the end of content. Currently the panels end at somewhat about the same height but not quite, which just looks messy.
The sidebar is going to be redesigned completely, and also as you can see there are a lot of information that's not there yet (on the profile box too), Thank you for all your comments, I tipped you a small amount of BTC!

6731  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does this design suck or not? on: February 06, 2013, 11:19:19 AM
The design is all over the place. Nothing fits together from a size and spaceing aspect. Whitespace is everywhere while actual content is crammed together. There's no "line" in the design, you've got angled corners, straight corners, slightly less angled corners. You've got gradients going wild everwhere each looking different, each leading viewer attention away from the important bits.
Thanks greyhawk, 1HNLqLrPEwMk8woA91qwX9sRkatRfQik2T is your address right?

Guess the only thing to do is for everyone to open up a suit against him. Seems to be only way to get somthing out of this whole thing.
Exactly, but I'd be surprised if this happens.

Really? If your site gets hacked, or if you accidentally spent all the coins on satoshiDICE, then it's your responsibility.

Dumped as much S.DICE as I can for a profit with the new issuing Smiley

EDIT: Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to buy it at 0.0044, but looking at the transaction history we still made a profit of 2.7 btc Wink
6738  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: February 05, 2013, 05:04:12 AM
Pricing is definitely a blow but the current shares are not being diluted nor dividends.
6739  Economy / Lending / Re: 4 Btc loan on: February 05, 2013, 02:33:40 AM
You can always reset the password or something.

I might offer you a loan if you show me ID / passport / bill with address / paystubs (any 2 of those). I delete all IDS (which would be in a 2fa google apps account) after the loan is complete.

Or, you could just have some patience Smiley
