6381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 24, 2019, 04:22:03 PM
He was exactly 27 years old when he left after winning the MotoGp,he said he will pursue a normal family life at that time.He was a good driver but that's all,he was lucky to be on the best bike at that time, everyone else who came after him like Lorenzo and Marquez are much better riders.

Very true, I know I said it many many times, this is why I love the BMW boxer cup races.
Everyone has the same bike, it's ALL about the rider.
No better tech for some people or sticker tires, it's all about skills.

6382  Economy / Gambling / Re: BTCDice.io - New dice site, fast rolls, instant withdrawals, invest on: August 24, 2019, 02:40:48 PM
Did my usual thing, when I see a new site.
Hop on and play for a very little while to see how it works for me.

Standard dice site.
Very smooth interface. Works well.
Got in, deposited, played, left.

Did not withdraw as I lost the little bit I put in, so I can't comment on that.

Had fun so you really can't ask for much more.

6385  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I created a wallet Electrum, but the blockchain Explorer doesn't see its address on: August 24, 2019, 01:12:20 PM
Blockchain.com don't support bech32 addresses (that start with bc1). Use other block explorers: BTC.com, Blockchair or Blockonomics.

could there be problems in the future with this address?

Did you check it on another block explorer and see your funds there? If so you are good.

Much like AdolfinWolf you might run into a processor that will not handle it.
Also, sending to some people using services that do not support it might be an issue (like blockchain.com).
But, as time goes on it will be less and less of a problem as more services support it.

Also, keep in mind there is a way on Electrum to show legacy addresses to send and receive funds.

6386  Other / Meta / Re: Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally? on: August 24, 2019, 02:25:21 AM
It could be that paid signatures really have a hidden good. Ie prevent bs links to really bad shit.

Hmm. I hadn't considered that.

I would say the crappiest posters are outside sig campaigns and squirting their diarrhoea all over the alt sections with miles of links to Twitter or posting 'real' shitposts elsewhere in the hope of getting enough rank to get into a campaign.

I presume the forum operators aren't interested in experiments. They'd rather keep things humming while attempting to ease the junk to the margins. Perhaps a short sharp shock would achieve more but I can see why they wouldn't be into the idea.

I'm tired so I don't know if this actually sounds as good as I think it does. How about max number of posts per week that can show a sig.
You can post as much as you want but only the 1st "X" number of posts actually show a signature.

400 posts this week. Fine, only the 1st 20 have a sig, the rest are blank.

6387  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne Resigns - The Real Russian Conspiracy? on: August 24, 2019, 02:15:08 AM
Read more into the story. Apparently the FBI was involved and was basically instructing his involvement in some cases. I am not saying that absolves him of all responsibility, but they definitely have the ability to coerce people in addition to a track record of using informants, insane, and legally retarded people to craft criminal plots in order to bust them and increase their own budget and profile.

It absolves him of NOTHING. Unless the FBI agent was Jeff Dunham and had his hand up Byrne's ass and was moving his mouth.
Look back though the years he has shot his mouth off time and time again.

Just one of the delightful things that he has said:
[url https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/the-wild-west-of-the-internet-b-c-mans-seven-year-ordeal-ends-with-million-dollar-libel-awardand[/url]

Lets not forget his years long battle with naked short sellers. One that he loves to point to saying yeah I won.
You won??? You spent more on legal fees then you received in the judgement. And generated ill will from MANY investors.

And lets not forget this one:

Quote
Byrne criticized Utah governor Jon Huntsman for not sufficiently supporting the voucher campaign. According to Byrne, Huntsman had before he was elected stated that he was "going to be the voucher governor", and Byrne had donated $75,000 to Huntsman's campaign for governor in 2004. However, to Byrne's disappointment, the moment Huntsman was elected he went missing from the debate, and Byrne told the Associated Press that he would now bankroll anyone who could defeat Huntsman at the polls, "even a communist".

Hmm, talk like that about the Governor of the state you are headquartered in. Yeah, that's going to be good for tax breaks and other favors.

TECSHARE I know you sell things on the forum, if you were setting up a store in some town and you REALLY REALLY REALLY hate the mayor of said town are you going to:
1) Keep your mouth shut in public and try not to deal with or interact with them.
or
2) Call them out and hope that your stores permits don't accidentally wind up the the shredder.

Be honest, you are either going to open the store someplace else or go with #2.
Eliminate the "I'll get them voted out" or other things. It's the end of August and you want to have your mystery boxes on sale in a retail environment for Christmas.

That is my problem with Byrne

The big 5 CEOs everyone knows. Apple, Amazon, WalMart, Berkshire etc. It's just way it is.
Some of the financial ones we might be more aware of here because of the Banks vs. Bitcoin thing.

But do you know the name of the CEO of FedEx? State Farm? IBM? Boeing? or do they shut up and do their job?

Just my view on why he is really out.
Enjoy the weekend.

6388  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne Resigns - The Real Russian Conspiracy? on: August 23, 2019, 10:27:29 PM
I love the "Make America Grateful Again" hat.  Being a fan of the Grateful Dead, Trump, and being a self-described patriotic, gun-totin' hippie myself I find that really cool.

I really had no exposure to Patrick Byrne, and have never used OverStock.com.  I'm quite empathetic to his plight, he genuinely seems scared and concerned for his own safety.  I hope he doesn't become a statistic in #clintonbodycount.  We need more business leaders with this guy's moral compass.

No, we need more business leaders to shut the fuck up and run their businesses.

I don't care if you are on the Left running Ben & Jerry's or on the right running Snapper. Your job is to run your company and make it money. Every word that comes out of your mouth and every email that you send you should think long and hard about.

It sucks to be you making millions of dollars but have to walk on eggshells about what you say. Tough shit, deal with it.
You want to be Mr. or Mrs. nobody in middle management, fine talk your head off.

You are running a big company, does not matter what side you are on left or right. You know what. There are other big companies that are run by people WHO ARE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE THAT YOU ARE ON. And you have to consider how they may or may not react.

That's your fucking job as CEO.
Don't like it. Quit and go flip burgers.

When he stepped down Overstock stock went up and was looking much better (until this entire tariff thing). Why because guess what, big institutional investors like CEOs and boards that shut the fuck up and run the business.

-Dave

Sorry, this is just one of those things that annoys the crap out of me. In case you could not tell from the number of fucks in the above post.
6389  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: consequences of --with-incompatible-bdb ? on: August 23, 2019, 10:06:42 PM
I'm trying to remember...this was a while ago...but the other issue is / was some wallet functions will not work because the calls do not exist or they are done differently.
There was an old thread (2014 or 15 perhaps) where someone was making an alt-coin that did this. You would have to go digging in the altcoin sections to even have a possibility of finding it. It's just something I vaguely remember from years ago.

Sorry I could not be more help.

6390  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blockchain Poker - Play Poker with Bitcoin (for free) on: August 23, 2019, 02:45:51 PM
Has some time to kill this morning, so I was back playing again. Since I'm an idiot, I forgot my PW and I was not on my usual PC that has it saved. So I just used the faucet for a bit.
This is what is nice about this place. Good entertaining game, no flashy graphics, and enough throug the faucet that you can have a good time w/o spending btc if for some reason you can't.

I can assure you that most of the "shit" in the other forums is just this >

On this forum, where money and interests are involved things are quite different. Doxing, extortion-ism , life-threatening... some people went to jail for doing shady business here. It's not what it looks like at first, things are quite serious and big money are involved as well. Most of the people are seeing only the top surface and they are OK with that.
Those are just my observations, I do enjoy being here anyway.

Without taking it too far off topic; we actually had another local club that was forced to disband over the 2 vs 3 wheel fight.
They lost 2 or 3 (out of 30) members who they forced out when they gout 3 wheelers. Some other members left to show solidarity with the members who were pushed out out. Down to 22 members.

The next year, there was a vote to see if they should try to get some of the members back and the yes vs. no got so heated that the yes (9)  people walked out bringing the membership below the charter level.

No more club.

Because people got old a 3 wheel bikes are easier on the back.

These are super rare and I want one badly, I even asked Coinkite directly if they had any lying around.
I know I have a 1.1.0
I can check to see if I have any more of the 1.0.0 but not till after Labor Day.
How much are you offering?

6393  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to speed up json/rpc calls ? to bitcoin core on: August 22, 2019, 11:28:47 PM
Short version: RPC is slow.

Longer Version: Take a look at this thread, it's been discussed many times before: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5159374

If you don't want to read the other thread: You are better off pulling the data into a DB and pulling the data from a DB. RPC calls lock the bitcoind database so they are done sequentially and slowly.

6394  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: ColdCard hardware wallet on: August 22, 2019, 02:22:39 PM
I just got mine today - I am really enjoying using ColdCard + Electrum, and displaying my addresses on the display. Managing multiple wallets is easy, and i can unplug and keep unencrypted wallets watch-only to see the confirms roll in.

I still like the Trezor, but ColdCard is a straightforward BTC/LTC only-wallet that can be used tethered, or setup as airgapped.   I tried it on wasabi, but i prefer how i can keep multiple wallets open in electrum.

the ColdCard looked cheap in the photos but holding in my hand it's worth the price.  it's obvious someone put a lot of thought and pride into how these turned out. Great buttons on the v2. The serial number on the sealed bag matched the bag number located in the firmware for security during shipment too.

imo if someone is btc-only and likes tactile buttons over touchscreens, i'd go with a ColdCard.

And we have another convert to the ColdCard.
But you are correct, it looks cheap in the pictures. But I have had, and used and still use their opendime products so I didn't worry I knew they make good stuff.
I have both the old and the new model and use them both.

6395  Economy / Services / Re: [Open] Yobit Signature Campaign / Sr. Member- Legendary on: August 22, 2019, 11:59:39 AM
If they want their reputation back, they need first to delist or update all altcoin wallet on his platform. They need to stop creating trash like Limbo, Lambo, Yo, Yozi, Liza, Lizun, Yobix ...

Crap coins that they create or find are really not the problem.
Just about every exchange has a bunch of crap coins (or coins people think are crap)
Coins with broken wallets are the problem.
The lack of response is the problem.

But, to give them a bit of a fair shake, compared to other bigger exchanges when it comes to withdrawal issues when it comes to the "bigger" coins (BTC / LTC / ETH) and the like they are no worse then most and even better then some. Although they have and do have issues with those coins now and then, they tend to get resolved.

And also, unlike other exchanges they have yet to spring KYC on you AFTER your deposit.

Just my view.

Somehow I'm DT2
How did that happen?
LoyceV answered about that. You are DT member because DT1 members selected you, and added you into their trust lists.

Yet again, my sarcasm didn't show though my post.
More along the lines of, "how the hell did 2 DT1 people actually select me" :-)

6397  Other / Meta / Re: Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally? on: August 21, 2019, 10:35:13 PM
Legendary:   111 out of 1602 (>= 60 earned merits in last 6 months) --> 6,93%

How many of those 1602 are still active?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=183495 hacked
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=339752 dark over a year.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=6347 Dark for 3.5 years
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=70535 Dark for 8 months
etc...

How many of those 1602 were legendary when merit came into existence and have provided no real content for over a year but just keep posting for the sig campaigns?

Edit a minute or 2 after after I posted this: Keep in mind the merit numbers I used I pulled out of my ass. More data points could give better numbers, it was an example.

It does not make any sense to exclude them. First of all, otrkid1970 didn't send any feedback except for hacked account. Second, except they excluded Lauda and The Pharmacist http://loyce.club/trust/2019-08-17_Sat_05.04h/2025790.html, their trust list is empty. Account is irrelevant.

It was sarcasm.
I actually added him in for a minute to take a screen shot, but I munged cropping the image on mobile so I just posted the text comment.

Bunch of Sallies fighting over a green feedback.  How pathetic!

~otrkid1970

Keep in mind that dealing with the trust lists, soon you dive in all the drama around them.
Now its quiet, but sooner or later there will be a new drama, that's how the forum politics works.

6400  Other / Meta / Re: Opinions on who to add to my trust list. on: August 21, 2019, 07:55:14 PM
Adding to your trust list should only take into account their actions on the forum.
That's my understanding of how one's trust list should be created as well.  If I've had transactions with someone which went well, I might leave them a positive feedback but won't necessarily add them to my trust list.  The latter is reserved for people who've shown good judgement in leaving feedback and/or other forum matters.  I mostly have scam/spam busters on my trust list and not members with whom I've bought or sold anything.

DaveF, you can do whatever you like with your trust list, but if you're on DT it becomes far more important to maintain the list responsibly.  Nowadays I have no clue who's on DT from minute to minute and you could end up on it if you aren't already (I haven't checked).  And if you're a DT member with a questionable trust list, you'll hear about it from other DT members pretty quickly.  My advice is to just be conservative when creating your list.  It doesn't have to be extensive and should reflect members' solid judgement in matters related to the forum.

Somehow I'm DT2
