641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wow! I am mining equivalent of 0.5 BTC / day using CPU only!!!!!! on: January 14, 2014, 04:17:41 PM
What version of the miner to use for an AMD FX-8320 Vishera?
I'm guessing yam-yvg1900-M7j-win64-bdver2.zip  bd stand for bulldozer right?

Correct.

I have tried it with two pools now, doesn't change anything. Could it be something with digital ocean? I don't have a problem with them connecting to any other pools (for other coins).

Can you post your .bat string?  Have you tried the other ports for mmc pool? (80 / 8880 / 8881 / 8882 / 8883)
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kanye wants a chunk of Coinye!! on: January 14, 2014, 04:14:26 PM
The devs were attempting to model Kayne's real-world value with the coinyeecoin.

Kayne better get some before he's 100% worthless.

up to 136k coinyes with another 33k waiting to be confirmed for sale accepting BTC

Apparently someone is using my name to trade on the official IRC. He scammed a guy out of 0.7 BTC.

Note to everyone: I only deal with people through PM on BitcoinTalk. Anyone claiming to be me outside of BitcoinTalk is not me and I won't be responsible for any of your loss. You've been warned.

As always, you should always ask for PM confirmation if you're ever dealing with anyone outside of BitcoinTalk. It's for your own security.

Better safe than sorry.

Yep, impersonation is exactly why i don't do skype, IRC, IM clients, or w/e.  All BTCTalk PMs, or we dont deal.

Good policy to have.

Hmm, since I already have a digitalocean account, I decided to try MMC mining. I am using a 2CPU/2GB node, but keep getting this:

Code:
Target OK
Checking params [mmc:av=1&aesni=on]...
Params OK
Checking MMC Stage 1 optimizations compatibility...
Checking MMC Stage 2 optimizations compatibility...
OK: MMC optimizations are compatible
MemoryCoin: Memory usage 1024M per thread, Algorithm Variation 1
Using 2 mining threads
Will mine 2 rounds for miner developers to support development of the next version

Anyone who knows what to do? I am using the "yam-yvg1900-M7j-linux64-generic" download.

In the readme provided with the miner:

Code:
6. Known issues

If your miner shows "PTS Agg. CPM: ?; Rnds C/I: 0/0, Don. C/I: 0/0; Cfg/Thr CPM: ?/? 0" over an extensive period of time, consider restarting your miner.
In most cases this caused by problems with network connection or temporary pool server unavailability.

Gigabyte WF3 all the way.  The Dual X HSF can kiss it.

VBE7 bios editor. Works like a charm.
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Questions about power supplies on: January 14, 2014, 02:47:35 PM
Yeah, that would work...theoretically.

4 290s at stock clocks / volts is ~1200-1300w.

It's certainly not over yet haters.
The project will be in the hand of another trusted developer.

LOL if you believe that then you'll believe anything, first they remove the tweet from twitter saying lawyers buying all coins and now they saying new devs are in charge, obvious scam coin is obvious...just look at the net hash rate of the coin it's dead.

Coin wasn't a scam.  In fact, i'm suprised it stayed up for as long as it did.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are dying on: January 14, 2014, 01:05:28 PM
This is the market.  Only the strong / useful / profitable survive.

Darwin had it right if he had been talking about crypto.

Woudn't touch that thing with a 20 foot pole.

Your rig is an investment.  Play it safe.

Go Corsair, Antec, Enermax, LEPA, Seasonic or XFX Core Edition.

651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining less exigent for gpu than stress gpu software? on: January 14, 2014, 12:54:12 PM
Scrypt mining in general is not compute-intensive, whereas SHA256 is.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpumon shows 1410khs pools show MUCH LOWER on: January 13, 2014, 09:20:44 PM
Servers estimate your hash from their end by accepted shares.

In other words, your config is most likely putting out rejected shares or hw errors and what you do see registering on the server is your accepted share hashrates.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Under $150] Best AMD card for mining ? on: January 13, 2014, 02:06:01 AM
The extra shaders on the 7870 / 270x do not help improve numbers greately over their lesser brothers.

270 reg single 6 pin connector with 1500mhz ram = 400-450khs @ ~115w = best performance / watt under $150.

7850 is 2nd best option under 150 performance / watt, but they don't come with the ram 270s do so it's somewhat rare to get 400khs+ out of them.

6970 doesn't come close.  It's a 200w+ card that can only really do ~500khs.  Its performance / watt doesn't approach the 270.

654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can someone convince me why the Scrypt "ASICs" would make much difference? on: January 13, 2014, 01:59:16 AM
Thank you. I feel relieved, since I am a fairly recent miner myself, have not reached my ROI point yet, and I intend to keep adding GPUs for a while.

ROI with Scrypt/GPU is hard to achieve if not impossible, there were some good times about 2 months ago when Litecoin went up but since then it's decreasing and only a unpredictable rise of crypto in general can make your ROI reality. Simply adding more GPUs now is surely not the way to go: while you can get MORE Scrypt-Based-Coin whatsoever for the same amount of fiat at the given moment to make a speculation on future prices.... just my two cents (also learned it the "hard way" but it was fun and so i won't complain)..... in less than 3 months i guess it's : HD7950s anyone?  Grin

 Roll Eyes

Heaviest FUD i've read all month long.  I have no issues calling you out on this one, mudshark79.

ROI is outstanding right now.  It was horrible months ago with btc price in the crapper and ltc the same.   That is the truth.

I am ROIing GPUs at the rate of just about 1 a week currently.

I have completely paid off 7k of hardware, most of that in the last month alone.

656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 on: January 12, 2014, 01:33:20 AM
x1->x16 or x16->x16 work, just make sure you get powered risers as they are only marginally more expensive that the non-powered versions.  Mining is not pcie bandwidth limited, so even x1->x16 works fine.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Coinyeeeee Buy/Sell Thread on: January 12, 2014, 01:05:51 AM
Got another 400k Coinyeeee up for sale.

PM me.
PMd. Haven't got a reply back : )

PM'd back, sorry!
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can someone convince me why the Scrypt "ASICs" would make much difference? on: January 11, 2014, 11:06:09 PM
I hope you are right. Still,  there is a user at middlecoin mining at around 700 MH/s that is supposedly doing with ASICs. Makes me wonder about its profitability potential.

No.  He is a 2ghs GPU farm in China and that is only part of his hash.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] |~ LANDING IN MINUTES ~ 10PM GMT - | ★★ ALIENCOIN ★★ | [ALN] | Scrypt √ | on: January 11, 2014, 11:02:36 PM
Sadly, the fundamentals of a coin don't matter at all anymore.  The coin could be fundamentally very solid (like this one), but because it doesn't have the shock n awe promotion behind it, most investors will see 0 value of buying into it.

Coinyecoin proved that a coin can be crap, launched like crap, and smell like crap but still sell well cause everyone and their mama knows about it.
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Coinyeeeee Buy/Sell Thread on: January 11, 2014, 06:11:46 PM
