641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether to buy Bitcoin based on monthly net profits on: May 17, 2023, 02:21:15 PM
Just like Microstrategy, tether is planing to be investing more on bitcoin. But unlike Microstrategy, we do not know how bitcoin maximalist they are yet.
They are smart to use their stable coin for buying Bitcoin. Storing stable coin does not help them richer but Tether are not Bitcoin Maximalist. They are a stable coin company and Bitcoin is only one of assets in their treasury.

Quote
Tether has $1.5 billion in bitcoin. That is 2% of their total reserves. 85% of their total reserves is in cash, cash equivalents and other short-term deposits, primarily treasure bills.
According to Bitcoin Treasuries, Tether are holding about 52,673 BTC which is $1.4B equivalent.

When Tether was in fud attacks months ago because of massive panic around stable coins, they released a very good report and if it was cooked, they would collapse already, not be fine like they are now.

643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is the solution to traffic congestion on the bitcoin network? on: May 17, 2023, 02:05:07 PM
Recently fees skyrocketed on the bitcoin network.
You are too late. The network and mempool are better than the last week. Fee does not skyrocket recently but in the last week.
https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC%20(default%20mempool),1w,weight

Quote
If we ever want to have bitcoin be more than a meme investment, and to be an actual currency, fees need to be low, and transaction times need to be faster.
Ordinals, BRC-20 tokens are meme tokens and they want to be parasites on Bitcoin blockchain. Bitcoin is not those tokens.
[WARNING] Stay away from BRC-20 tokens - there are far better options

Quote
What is the solution? More people need to mine? Bigger blocks? Blocks generated more often?
Let's wait for developer proposals and community consensus. It won't happen soon and personally, there is no single solution like increase block size will solve it or reduce block time will solve it.

Ethereum has shorter block time but fails to solve its expensive transaction fee.

In the meantime, education would be helpful to teach people about transaction fee, mempool, how to look at mempool and broadcast their transaction with good fee rate. When they are more educated, they will less join fee race unnecessary.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 17, 2023, 01:55:29 PM
When Pep Guardiola was asked by reporters after the first leg of the first leg of Manchester City's dramatic loss to Real Madrid in last season's dramatic semi-final defeat to Real Madrid last season, did you think Real Madrid would be in the next Champions League semi-final? There will be a chance to take revenge against you.
In response to this question, Pep Guardiola said revenge is not a big deal, we will only play to win and our dream will be the UCL final.

For the coach and players this match is not a revenge match but for Manchester City fans this match is a tough revenge match. Now it is to be seen how much Real Madrid can perform at the Etihad Stadium against the loud noise of Manchester City fans.
Starting a match with a revenge intention will not be good. The coach and players will have barriers which are made up of their own pressure that is unnecessary to exist. The past season completed and nobody can revert the time but in this season, Manchester City again come closely to a final match.

They will have a second semi final to beat Real Madrid and have a final match to play. Revenge or not, it is not a big matter with them. If not Real Madrid, they will face with another club and have to beat any opponent to win their first Champions League.

In a first leg, Kyle Walker constrained Vinicius very well and he will have a big task to repeat it. As Vinincius is a main attacking power of Real Madrid and if he can not perform well because of Walker, Real Madrid will lose majority of their attacking power.

Manchester City's performance this season is very extraordinary, Pep Guardiola's team seems to have no significant shortcomings. I am more championed Manchester City than the defending champion.
They have a last few matches in this season to win three titles and in history, only one club in England did it. They are Manchester United with Sir. Alex Ferguson many years ago. It is interesting if a second club get it is another club from Manchester.

A friend said to me that he lost all is his bitcoin and I asked him how and he said he was scammed and has never doing any savings and just join as of 2months back and I don't know what to do any more so he asked me what do he do, I really never thought of anything to say to him so I ask to what will be your advice for him because right now his not working anymore.
Lost his bitcoin. Sorry for your friend loss and I hope he will be strong to recover.

If you want to give him advice, you must know why he lost his bitcoin.

Did he lose it to scammer by a trade?
Did he lose it by hacker who accessed his wallet and moved his bitcoin?
Did he lose it because he lost access to his wallet (lost private key, did not make wallet backup, etc.)?
Did he lose it because clicking on a phishing link?
Did he lose it by sending his coin to someone because of a Ponzi scam like "Sending your coins to me, there, and you will get a double amount"?

646  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is this considered a safe practice on: May 16, 2023, 03:21:04 PM
Is it safe or dumb to use your Credit card for online gambling because of free bonus rewards on signup and initial 3 months purchase?
It is like you should never connect your Bitcoin wallet to the Internet more than what you need. The best is airgap wallet, keep it offline.

Similar for Credit card, if you want to be safer, don't use it on strange platform or on many platforms. If you carelessly use your Credit card, if you get caught by scammers, you will lose your money and even don't know why and where you make your mistake.

You can use your Debit card to reduce risk.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I look foward to the day Bitcoin will have backer/tender on: May 16, 2023, 03:13:03 PM
Bitcoin has a good project supporting it and the decentralization of the network is best in the crypto space. Satoshi has left everything in our hands, it's left to us to think and determine the future development of the network. As people are trying to develop the core, the backers offline will be a game changer in my thought.
Bitcoin is more decentralized then altcoins. There are always whales in either Bitcoin or altcoins but with Bitcoin, less centralized power from whales then with altcoins.

Altcoins always have backers behind because they have to raise funds from community with ICO, IDO, IEO ... Those backers, venture capitals used to be considered as important indicator for quality and success of on altcoin project. In fact it is not true and collapses of Terra, Three Arrows Capital, Voyager, FTX and more in the last two years are very good reminders and examples for altcoin investors that Backers don't bring guarantee to quality of one altcoin project.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 16, 2023, 02:58:54 PM
The outcome of the match between AC Milan and Inter Milan may be predicted because Inter Milan is now in better shape than them and AC Milan has shown that they are helpless by performing poorly in the Serie A competition. Additionally, AC Milan had a very difficult time recovering the goals because Inter Milan defeated them 2-0 in the first leg of the semifinal.
Inter Milan are in a better form than AC Milan and they get a big advantage from the first leg. With two goal difference, AC Milan will have very big challenge in a second leg that perhaps will be too big for them to beat Inter Milan big enough to equalize an aggregated result within 90 minutes. If they can do it, everything might happen in two extra halfs and even later in penalty shootouts.

Quote
Regarding Manchester City and Real Madrid I don't think Manchester City will defeat Real Madrid easily because Real Madrid has players like Rudiger, Alaba, and Camavinga who can stop Manchester City in their tracks. I know Manchester City is very dangerous this season and Real Madrid will be playing at Etihad Stadium, but that shouldn't mean Manchester City has a chance to win the match.
That match at Etihad will be stressful for Manchester City and they will have to beat a very strong club in Champions League. The opponent just won over Manchester City in the past season and are very ready to repeat it in the coming semi final.

Real Madrid are dangerous as their power is not only from their old players but in this season, some of their young players like Vinicius, Rodrygo, Camavinga and Tchouameni are maturing more and are able to carrying bigger tasks.

Carlo Ancelotti has an ace up his sleeve with Valverde and can make surprise for Pep and Manchester City.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to know a good bitcoin investors! on: May 15, 2023, 01:38:08 PM
If a person invests Bitcoin as his source of income, he must scale the investment.
If you don't use all salary, income for your expense, you can use the rest to invest in Bitcoin rather than save its in banks. With time, you can DCA Bitcoin and scale up your investment capital.

There are many people who do not have a very good knowledge about investing and have absolutely no patience. But an investor must have qualities that he tries to hold for a long time. An ideal investor is one who invests his money and waits patiently.
If you can not hold your bitcoin, wait patiently months and years, you are not good investor. It requires you to do your research about past cycles, past bull runs to have knowledge and belief that Bitcoin will have similar movement and growth in its next cycles and bull runs.

Compare bull markets with past two cycles and the current one.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Studies on the Bitcoin Generalized Stock-to-Flow (S2F-G) Model: (i) Error-bars ( on: May 15, 2023, 01:20:26 PM
You don't need a model to think that if Bitcoin makes its new all time high after 2024 halving, it will be at least double from $69,000 that is the current all time high. $170,000 is about x3 from current all time high.

I think a new all time high for 2024 and 2025 will be from $120,000 to $180,000 or somewhere under $200,000. I am more keen on a lowest price, $120,000 or better $150,000.

What is your view on the market and what do you think about its psychology phase now?

It's difficult to define what phase it is when we are in a market but it is not too important if you have a wider vision. Next year, Bitcoin will have its halving and do you mind to find its psychology phase now?

Depression, Disbelief, Nope, Optimism, they are not matter when you are in a bull run after a next halving.

652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 13, 2023, 03:01:10 PM
Newcastle have really improved under Eddie Howe, the best thing they will achieve this season is getting Champions league qualification at the end of the season. Eddie Howe has impacted the team greatly with his coaching style and tactical brilliance, this is an opportunity for Newcastle to step up and put themselves at the top ranks in the premier league and I hope they don't blow it next season.
Newcastle United are not far from Champions League and they only lose that ticket if they have very bad results in the last three matches and if Liverpool have perfect results. It has very small chance to happen and Newcastle United are good enough to control their ending in this season. They don't have to rely on Liverpool performance to protect their position in top four.

An additional 1 point is certainly not the target that Newcastle expected. Yes, now their position is starting to come under great pressure from Manchester United and Liverpool.
I don't think they care about Liverpool at all as they only lose their position to Liverpool if something really shit to happen in three remaining matches. Manchester United won their match and have same 66 points like Newcastle United but with very weak goal difference. Liverpool have 62 points and their chance to catch these two clubs is not big. Their only hope is Manchester United, not Newcastle United.

What a garbage line up from lampard. Lampard was putting some important players who contributed a lot like kante, ziyech on the bench. Lampard was repeating another stupid formation again. Im so mad to see the bad performance from chelsea.

Sterling was actually a useless player. he can do nothing. The era for this guy has already passed. Gallagher is always become starting line up. Gallagher was also a very bad player.

Nottingham is leading the game now. I think that chelsea will lose again in this game.
Some names I even don't know and I am surprised that Lampard did not let Chelsea starts with a real striker. Joao Felix is not a striker and with this squad, Chelsea will not create enough pressure in attacking on Nottingham defense system.

I feel weird with his choices for Chelsea defense too. Perhaps Lampard is losing his mind after some very bad matches and he made bad decisions for Chelsea formation as well as chosen players for the match. This season is a garbage one for Chelsea after they sacked Tuchel months ago and continued their mistakes with Potter than Lampard.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Full Node / Full Blockchain Download on: May 13, 2023, 01:24:46 PM
I"ll try prunenode.
You have to download the blockchain even if you only set up your Bitcoin prune node. Your problem is your device can not run well to sync it with the blockchain. With prune node, you will have problems if your device lost electricity when it is on and running.

You can do it with not too big finance budget and the guide can help you with limited budget.

654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Ordinals craze cause a UAHF soon? on: May 13, 2023, 01:20:39 PM
Full node operators can filter Ordinals from their mempool using Ordisrespector, but it won't make a difference because not the whole network would be doing it. Those transactions would still propagate.
Do we all want censorship from Bitcoin full node operators and miners on our transactions?

I believe that if they filter and censor transactions from Ordinals, they will be able to do the same for coins related to CoinJoin transactions or any reason they think is bad, serious and should be censored.

It is not what Satoshi Nakamoto designed for Bitcoin and it is not what the Bitcoin community have tried to maintain since 2009.

Should we break it because of Ordinals?

My answer is very strong, No, I don't want it and I don't think we should have it.
655  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Where is the private key on Electrum Android? on: May 13, 2023, 01:10:27 PM
Before 4.4.0 updates

It is not a seed phrase wallet, I used private key for it, not extended private key, I used private key that starts with K.
With a new version of Electrum wallet for Android, you only can get your public key or your mnenonic seed. You can not have option to get a private key for one public address.

I can confirm that on version 4.3.4, which I still use, there is an option to view the private key for each address individually, although I personally have never needed something like that. It is possible that this feature was removed, or that they hid it a little more in the new versions.
I did not see it on my Android too and it was removed from newest version of Electrum. It is available for desktop version and I think they remove it from Android like one of their security-wise concerns.

656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Ordinals craze cause a UAHF soon? on: May 11, 2023, 01:46:01 PM
I'm beginning to wonder if nodes will eventually reject Ordinals transactions, leading Bitcoin towards a hard fork (UAHF)?
It won't result in a hard fork soon.

More transactions in mempools than days ago but no more very high fee rates like days ago.
https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC%20(default%20mempool),30d,weight

So the problem comes from how people understand the issue and use fee rate. If they keep escalating fee rates, they will escalate it to infinity. Do they want infinity fee rate?

I believe at some expensive fee rate, they will stop like how people rejected to make transactions on Ethereum blockchain with too expensive Gwei or they just don't have enough money for too expensive fee. They can not make transaction with $100 in fee and only have $20 to buy some BRC20 token.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make Bitcoin anonymous ? on: May 11, 2023, 11:58:01 AM
Why did you use Binance in the first place to store your coins if you wanted privacy ?
I believe many of us or all of us touch Binance.

OP possibly did not think about privacy at debut in cryptocurrency and it is not bad at all and we can help OP to gain privacy.

Quote
If you need maximum privacy, you should use a decentralized exchange for whatever  transaction that you want to do,either from bitcoin to your local fiat or vice visa. This will give you the kind of privacy that you need to stay anonymous

, when using a mixer with a decentralized platform and wallet. Bisq is among one of the trusted decentralized exchanges.
You don't understand difference between transactions and trades. You can make transactions when you don't trade with anyone else.

Decentralized exchanges are for anonymous tradings when you need to trade.
Non custodial wallets are needed when you need to self responsible for your coins and its transactions.

They are interacted with each other. You can store your coins in non custodial wallets but if you move it to a centralized exchange for trading, your privacy will be broken.
658  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Importants of PSYCHOLOGY in a trader on: May 11, 2023, 11:15:30 AM
Overcoming greed is most important thing in trading. Just use the amount of money that you are able to afford to lose for trading. Do not use leverage that can lead to fast liquidation of your trading fund. Going less than 2x leverage can be better.
You must overcome your greediness by don't use leverage.

With newbies, if they fail to not use leverage, they will fail to control what leverage they use. It is very easy to say I will not use leverage is higher than 2x but later you will use 5x, 10x or 50x.

On some exchanges, you have to click on Confirm to start using their leverage trading tab and if you don't complete that confirmation, it is a good prevention to not use Leverage.

It can be more risky if you use altcoins as your collateral for leverage trading. Altcoins can be dumped a lot and reduce your collateral value to a level that can cause forced liquidation.
659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Importants of PSYCHOLOGY in a trader on: May 11, 2023, 11:05:09 AM
Psychology is important for human.

If you are not confident about yourself, you can not be strong enough to succeed as along your way to success, you will be challenged by many troubles, barriers and even enemies. You must be strong mentally to succeed.

In trading, in the market, you will have to understand Psychology cycles of market to know why most of people response the same in a same market. The crowd is mostly manipulated by whales and market makers because they can not control their fear, greed, emotion and generally it's about psychological challenge.

Psychology of a market cycle
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make Bitcoin anonymous ? on: May 11, 2023, 10:58:12 AM
It's hilarious how you're talking about privacy matter but you're use Binance to buy or sell your coins.

Binance is a centralized exchange, they have recorded all of your IP logs, your device and ask your KYC, so the coins you've linked with Binance is already traceable and monitored by them.

Even you route your coins through 10 wallets, they can still trace your coins, the difference is it will take more time.

Use Bisq to trade and mixer if you want to protect your privacy.
You can use Binance or centralized exchanges when you are newbies or for your very first trades. You still can get privacy and anonymity later if you know how to do your trades and transactions with better methods and platforms.

Not all no-KYC exchanges are good for privacy. If they are centralized exchanges, they can collect user data and can give those data to governments when time comes.

If you use a mixer to mix your bitcoins, it does not lead to privacy and anonymity. It depends on how you pick anonymity set, how you use your coins after Coinjoin or Mixing. It depends on how that mixer service is valid and good, how they keep their promise for user privacy and anonymity, do they keep user log-ins long enough to cause data leak.
