642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the future of Smart contracts? on: May 13, 2017, 04:28:48 AM
Blockchain technology has paved the way towards the development of various "smart contract" platforms such as: Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Lisk, and so on. Because of this, new ways of implementing autonomous applications without the need of middlemen or human intervention have emerged.

While this field is new and experimental, it would might become revolutionary up to a point where major banks and corporations use the technology for various tasks such as: automated banking, issuance of assets, property ownership, and more.

Nevertheless, I would like to know what do you think about the future of smart contracts? Who will become the leader in this evolving field? Will it become used in the mainstream world?

If it were me, I'd say that Ethereum will be the future of smart contracts and the leader among other platforms, becoming used in the mainstream world, especially with corporations and businesses alike. The recently formed Enterprise Ethereum Alliance may change things for the better.

Still, would like to know your thoughts about this.  Smiley

647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of ETH POS on other coins? on: May 03, 2017, 11:45:44 PM
I would like to hear some opinions from those more knowledgeable than myself about what is going to happen when ETH switches to POS and all of a sudden thousands of mining rigs - 10's of thousands of video cards - move to other currencies (like zcash) to continue mining?

What impact do you think all of this horsepower is going to have on anything still GPU'able?

it going to pump and etheroom going to dump. eth probably going to pump first then sliding down the hill over time. my concern is this eth vaporware pos will never come.

https://blog.sia.tech/want-to-deflate-the-token-bubble-fix-the-market-cap-indicator-d50f7f1e1ec4

Quote
The token world is getting crazy, but last week’s Gnosis ICO pushed us over the edge. Gnosis investors bought up approximately 4.2% of the total GNO token supply for $12.5 million (250,000 ETH), giving the project a market capitalization of $298 million (as of April 24).
To be clear: this means ICO investors valued Gnosis — an unproven platform that is yet to be launched — at about $300 million. Moreover, the GNO token does not have any actual purpose except to exchange for WIZ tokens at some point in the future.
We at Sia feel that this ICO insanity cannot continue in its current form — something must give. If the bubble bursts, it will inflict damage on every token, including those that are most reputable.
Many in the community want to slow and eventually stop this trend. We think that, while investors are by no means rational, they need access to the best possible information in order to make informed decisions. However, it is clear that investors are completely misvaluing most tokens. So what gives?
Our hypothesis: the market cap indicator is highly flawed.
Market cap is so powerful because it allows investors to quickly assess total valuation of an asset. A flawed market cap calculation means that investors are not able to properly value a token without doing extensive research.
There are two major inputs to market cap: total supply, which is required to properly calculate present market cap, and inflation, which can be used to predict future total supply and therefore future market cap.

unproven tech, heck, this happen before they even have a working wallet.
any scam with ethoreium is going to be to big to fail now. everyone can be instant millionaire.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on BiTTREX 🔹 on: May 03, 2017, 03:45:29 AM
Does ARK have a chance to go to the POLO exchange? Now only in bittrex transactions?

i don't see it, polo need volume but currently ARK don't have it.

lol how much volume at bittrex do you need?  This month bittrex has seen some of the highest volume in a long time.  It just started having over 2k btc volume on some coins and we've had a 1k btc volume day in the short timeframe we've been out.

Bittrex is about to release a new site and I think it will be amazing from the screenshots i've seen.  expect big things from bittrex this year.  Polo has some big competition.

i think ark would probably need to be constant #1 or #2 on bittrex in order for this crap polo to pick it up.
this is very very good to know that bittrex have a new layout, this is what bittrex really needed in order for it to be number 1 again. one more thing is that bittrex need to make it harder for crap coins to get add and perhaps clean all the crap coins they now have.

good to know bittrex come with new layout, i hope it do have troll box.
all and all bittrex is a solid exchange. it have less problem than crap polo from my experience.

It sounds good, it seems to be an exciting competition  Grin
looks like the total volume on bittrex is also getting better day by day

Yeah, you are right, maybe bittrex need a trollbox feature,   Grin
So their website doesn't look too quiet  Cheesy

wow , you have a very low trust score and the "Warning: Trade with extreme caution! " . Why? r you a scammer before  Shocked

i scam no one. i talk bad about their scam coin and they left me negative.

ok, whatever. let's pray for this coin.

pray for what? pray of what? i don't think ark would need my pray or any pray.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Smart city build in China in Hangzhou on: May 02, 2017, 10:53:33 AM
You recognise a stupid person when they tell you that ethereum foundation, a non profit organisation made of 20 to 40 year old geeks is paying giants like Microsoft, intel, jpmorgan and hundreds more corporations to hype them.

R3  is not abandoning ethereum because it is not with ethereum in the first place as far as i know. In fact corporations are leaving R3 to join Ethereum Enterprise Alliance, like jpmorgan did. And jpmorgan actually develops stuff on ethereum, they even uploaded on github.

this ethereum smart contracts can be done with just simple java.

Tell that to Brendan Eich, the inventor of javascript. He will hold an ICO on ethereum to build his thing because it is best suited on a platform like ethereum.

I thought you woke up and wrote something constructive, so i unignored to see what you wrote, back to my ignore list, won't unignore again.

yes, non profit organization with these 20 to 40 year old geeks whose secretly paying another geeks working for giant corporations to take the etherum idea and work on it, instant ethereum transfer to geeks address working for big corporation without anyone knowing it. etheruem team is a well known bribery crooks, included bribe coindesk of hype articles. the rate of big corporations abandoned ethereum project is much much higher now than hype taking in.
this Ethereum Enterprise Alliance soon will be dissolved just like the state of R3 being dissolving right now.
i said java, not javascript, two different language. probably this Brendan Eich guy looking to be instant millionaire, the hype is on, free money for him for staying under basement for so long.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ETH overtake BTC in market cap? on: May 02, 2017, 10:32:50 AM
As long as ETH stays closed to my grand mother, he will never beat Bitcoin either in market cap or in adpotion. Ethereum is just not enough noob friendly.

Does your grandmother know her IP address when she's online? Does she know how many amperes are flowing through her house and how much it cost to produce the current that she's using to watch TV? Has she ever played with her router??

What I'm saying is that the ethereum blockchain has the potential of becoming ubiquitous just like electricity or IP addresses. Most people don't care how they work as long as they do what they're meant to do. I doubt people will be using the TERRIBLE wallets! They'll be using dapps that utilize the ETH blockchain.

As for trading volume, I've heard it all before but nothing changes. Some people say BTC volume is all fake. Every coin and asset has it's detractors.

You answered your question.

Now regarding Dapps, i really do believe that it won't ease the usage of Ethereum. The wallet is really hard to understand, i mean, the GUI should be more simple then what it is actually, or at least move most of the features to advanced mode and keep it as ismple as possible. That's what i mean when i say that my grand mother should be able to use it.

I am not a detractor, i used Ethereum when it was only CLI, when we had to use Eth and Geth to be able to mine, i even had a talk with Genoil about the possibilties of the different Nvidia GPUs for mining.
That was a long time ago, when Ethereum was great.
Later they decided to focus totally on Dapps and smart conracts, the thing is that it is now so much out of reach from common people that it is just a non sence for them to use it.

Also, just to teach you something about coins prices :
1- Devs are poor
2- Devs can't support a currencie's price because of 1
3- Eth's price isn't due to miners, because the miners sell, they don't buy.
4- Why would someone buy Ethereum ?

I would like to take more time talk about 4.
So, let's say that i have 10.000$, why would i buy them Ethereum ? What can it bring me that other cryptos can't provide me ?
Privacy ?
Stable price ?
Instant transactions ? for what ?
Passive income ?

if they have simple wallet even your grand mother should able to use then it would kill their network instantly from the current people want to try out with all the dapps. they're still trying out many different paths of making this scalable. it would probably take just another 10 years before we will ever know if this thing is useful or broke. it is now almost 5 years seen ico and begin of coding, the hype is still strong.
nothing, people are just hype about this smart contracts thing which can be done with simple java.

they will abandoned ethereum soon just like ibm abandoned ethereum, r3 abandoned ethereum, jpmorgan abandoned ethereum. with this kind of track record look like ethereum paid these companies to hype for them? everyone now just hype ethereum so they can dump at higher price. when they sold out they would just abandoned useless ethereum.
this ethereum smart contracts can be done with just simple java.

polo has changed over the years. if they added things that got high volume then piv x would have been added awhile ago. they are all about backroom deals now it seems, they are going the way of vc. which could be bad as trex is poised to take the top spot with impeccable service and support. polo turned into a secret society a while ago. and people are starting to realize it. it's either that, or some guy is in charge of everything there and only adds what he wants to... which is also possible.

pivx is no longer #1 or #2. i'm sure polio must of have done something right to become from one shit exchange to a huge one with insiders pocketing hundreds of millions $$$$$$$$$
when new layout arrive on bittrex i'm expecting coins like ark, wave or pivx etc... going to have high volumes, it would make polo look shitty to not have these coins, so they either going to add them or... polo going to look shitty. if they copy and add these high volume coins it also going to make them look shitty this time around, nothing but a copycat shit exchange. look like a lose-lose for polo in my book.

Its different than a crypto currency right? Was checking their website and what it actually is, according to them its a platform that predicts future events. So how does that evaluate their coin and its value?
Can anyone please explain.

scam pump instant millionaire, that's how people use and value it.

660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do people get together for altcoin projects? on: April 30, 2017, 11:23:24 AM
linkedin is a good start point to meet people for this kind of project, if you look carefully they even link their face and everything to their linkedin profile, but i think some of them maybe are fake, i'm not trusting someone unless he put his ID, but no one will do that

i agree, it is true most of these ico use fake photos. they stole photos on the web then making name out of it, basically no real coder or advisor behind the photo. Just a 1 person scam as usual.
