Honestly, I was worried about this for a while and it's been a bit of a bummer, since I'm worried that once the market cap exceed's Bitcoins that the media will start talking about Ethereum as if it's the answer. But Ethereum actually makes for a very poor currency-just look at how badly the network locked up during the Bancor ICO. I think both can coexist but people have pumped Ethereum up to insane levels right now that honestly I don't think it's ready for.
eth network is inferior and going to bloat, Bancor is just small example and people don't realize about it. there is no reason for me to talk negative about this crap anymore, which i have a ton. it is their money. |

According to http://www.flippening.watch/ , ethereum surpassed bitcoin in volume, mining reward ( aka most secure chain by hashrate ) and nodes, having 4 times more. To be noted that even though ethereum has 92% of bitcoin's transactions, technically it has MUCH more because tokens that work on it aren't taken into consideration. Which means, today, ethereum surpassed bitcoin by any metric, except for the market cap. Some of you listened to trolls and thought ethereum is a scam, some of you saw past that. eth will always be a freak scam play with poloniex, like i always said eth and polo do or die by each others. when is moving to POS? never? that's what i say so. |

Blackcoin, VIA, and Pascal. All trade on poloniex. Bitbay and Ark trade on bittrex. Xtrabytes is yobit.  ARK has already risen nearly 10-fold in the last 2 months, and same with VIA. I'm a little hesitant to invest in those at this point. I bought some Bitbay though, thanks for that tip! SLR seems to be one of the more promising coins for a price boom in the near future. 10 or 100-fold mean nothing, Bitcoin or Eth ect. have 10,000 of thousands-fold+ the reason you will not be rich is that you sell early |

Alt coins all run on a platform, most of which run on Ethereum.
Can someone explain how this works? At the end of the day, I'd like to know if alt coins that run on the Ethereum platform increase demand for the currency itself, or if it just runs on a similar architecture?
Even if you have a link with the info, that would be helpful.

each platforms going to have the token/coin creation and handle them differently, i'm sure token creating platform like Ark, Waves or Eth are all different, if you want to understand them just look at their whitepapers. yes, coins run on the platform creating more hype for that platform and eventually increase demand and price. |
